TLDR; Family run business that actually cares about their customers When I first stepped into the Vespa Los Angeles showroom, I felt so intimidated. I've never ridden a motorcycle or a Vespa in my life, but always wanted a Vespa. To be completely transparent, I was half expecting the staff to be a bit pretentious and/or stand offish because I may not typically fit into the motorized biking appearance. Boy was I wrong. I was greeted with such open arms the minute I stepped through those front doors. The man who showed me around and answered all the questions I had was so nice and knowledgeable--I came to find out he was Kenny (the store owner)! He was so friendly and warm, which, given my tentativeness, was very much appreciated. He was honest with me when I initially inquired about a model that may have been a bit too much for me. This was not based on my smaller stature or an assumption that I wouldn't be able to handle it, rather, it was only after he heard my reasons as to why I wanted the bigger bike (he asked some fairly direct questions). It made a lot of sense to me that this was not the appropriate bike for me as he walked me through the pros and cons of a more powerful bike (which also cost a lot more), based on my needs, and made me realize that a 150cc was perfect for me. After this eye-opening discussion with Kenny, I was better equipped to make a decision when I was ready to get a bike. During my interactions with Kenny, not once did I feel pressured into buying anything. Kenny truly made me feel comfortable and it became quite apparent that he was passionate about these bikes, regardless of whether I was going to buy one or not; all he wanted to do was make sure I understood what they were all about and that I had all of my questions answered. I was about to leave the store fully stocked with knowledge and freshly invigorated for a future potential purchase, but then something happened...as fate would have it, the cutest Robin's egg blue 150cc Primavera bike happened to roll in, at that exact moment, preparing for its showroom debut. I knew right then and there - that was my Vespa! I immediately put a down payment on that bike because I couldn't stand the idea that it may not be there if I came back another time! I am so glad I did, because it has been so much fun and I'm still in love with it after 3 years! Kenny and his family (Meghan and Lexie) run this shop and they are all so down to Earth, it's very refreshing. They really care about their customers and share the same passion for these bikes as Kenny does. They go above and beyond to build a positive, fun Vespa community. Kenny also established the LA Vespa Club where Vespa enthusiasts meet up and ride as a group through some really fun canyon roads to fun picnic destinations. I've met so many nice people through this club which also helped me gain more seat time and made me a more confident rider. Outstanding warranty service, friendly staff, great product. I bought my Piaggio BV 400 here in April 2022 and have had no regrets. The one time I needed a minor warranty repair, it was quick and easy. I just reached my 600 Mile service and making an appointment was easy. I just arrived at my appointment time, was greeted, I asked about adding a top case which they'll install at no additional charge, signed the paperwork and handed over my keys, sat down and enjoyed the music. When I've called asking questions over the phone, the staff have always been helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. It's a nice environment with a comfortable waiting area. Always fun to see the new Vespa and Piaggio Scooters that have come out, and this location has always seemed to have the latest models and Piaggio's custom officially licensed models like the Justin Beiber, Christian Dior, Mickey Mouse, Barbie, and other limited edition releases. read more

I bought my scooter in 2016 back when it was owned by the previous owner DAVE & had the BEST buying / servicing experience. I went back in recent times & what a disaster! EVERY. SINGLE. THING. is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT with these establishment! From ordering, 2 purchasing (never happened), 2 servicing, 2 common reasoning! NOT 2 MENTION, the counterfeit branding! They had "BARBIE" "WB (Warner Brothers)" decals on scoots that were NOT OFFICIALLY LICENSED BY VESPA / BARBIE / WB (see pics). So B careful & don't fall in love 2 quick! You might buy a FAKE! 2 weeks ago, I Performed an oil change at home before a big trip and was unable to remove the oil filter. I called in and asked if it would be fine to swing by and borrow a tool to remove the filter and replace it with a new one I have. I was told the shop was too busy and I'd have to make an appointment (I had this conversation at autozone after the guys tried for 15 minutes to help me for free - shout out them). I just wanted to get things over with so I said sure. There were no appointments for two weeks, which was unideal but fine because my trip is next week. I called in today to confirm the time of my appointment and was told there was nothing on their records, there was no way I could still be seen, and the next closest appointment is another 2 weeks out. This was about to be my first time here, doesn't seem like I'll get to check this place out. After renting a vespa in Italy and having the time of my life, I decided to buy one for hubby for his birthday. Had a great experience dealing with David, the owner and Michael who works here. Superb customer service, they were very knowledgeable about the vespas and had lots of models in the store to choose from. The only thing that ticked me off was this. When I was buying the vespa, to sweeten the deal for me, they gave me $100 credit to use for anything in the store including service. When I tried to redeem the gift certificate, I was told (by Linda) that this cannot be used for service and is only valid for accessories, which was clearly not what I was told at the time of buying the vespa. Left a bad taste in my mouth...the accessories are overpriced in the store anyway. Apart from this incident, everything else is solid. When I asked if I should get the extended warranty, David told me it wasn't needed...first time, a dealer has ever told me not to purchase one! Sooo... looks like I'm the 1st to review VESPA SO under the new ownership and let me just say that our whole experience from start to finish was quick, seamless and awesome! Kenny, Megan & Kyle are knowledgeable, down to earth professionals who answered all our 1001 questions with a smile. We showed up at 5pm Saturday 8/1/20 and it was pretty busy but Kenny & team handled the customer service during this Pandemic like pros! Due to Covid restrictions you can't go into the store. They have their scooters neatly lined up in the window on display. You pick the one you want to see, they bring it out, point out the bells & whistles, answer your questions... bada bing bada boom...you like, you buy! We didn't want to burden them (or ourselves lol) with a purchase at 6pm closing time. So, we told Kenny we wanted two, the Vespa Sprint & Piaggio Liberty. He made note of it, and when they opened on Tuesday, we called Kyle to complete our purchases over the phone and thru their secured website. 5.0 star rating I've been riding scooters since 2004. I ride every day and all day. (My 2018 Piaggio BV 350 has 20K miles on it already.) It's my only mode of transportation. I get total peace of mind from David and Linda and their whole awesome family at Vespa of Sherman Oaks that my scooter is ready and able to get me where I need to go. I trust them with my life. David, Linda, and Jordan and the whole Vespa of Sherman Oaks family are just outstanding. They answer all my questions and even show photos of the repair work and their top-notch mechanics, Eric and Kyle, are just unbelievable. They know my scooter is my only mode of transportation and they recently pulled a 26 hour repair job on my scooter and got me back on the road in two days, when something like that would normally take over a week. They were able to order the parts ahead of time, so that helped a lot. OMG YES, that is amazing service. And yes, it's very true what the other reviews say: they treat their customers like family. And I'm so very grateful for their care and attention to detail. It honestly means everything to me. I also want to add that Eric and Kyle make me feel like I get a brand spankin' new scooter every time I pick up my Piaggio BV 350 from its servicing. AND they also do a wonderful scooter wipe-down and polish at every service. God, I l just love that so stinking much! I honestly don't understand why people still drive cars. I see most people driving alone in their big cars. Save your money! If you need to truck a lot of stuff: Uber or U-haul it. Because on my scoot, I fill up gas at $9-10 and ride like 120 miles; my fully loaded insurance is under $600 for the year, and my Sheffield 1.99% financing for the BV is like $147 a month. And on top of that, I can park anywhere AN-Y-WHERE with a scooter. I park at the Grove: Free. I park at LAX: FREE, for weeks. I can park in between cars: FREE. How much money do LA drivers waste on just parking? I couldn't afford to live in LA if I had a car. Also not to brag (okay maybe) but I can also carry 2 bags of groceries on my scooter and that's not even including the huge under-seat storage on the BV. I mean, DO YOU REALLY need a car to get where you need to go? If you're still on the fence about getting a scooter, don't be. If you think Vespa and Piaggios are expensive, they're not. My MP3 500 was first - and now last- serviced in Marina Del Rey. I booked a service appointment here in SO because my scooter wasn't riding the same as when I got it and it's less than a year old. Until the covid-19 restrictions are lifted , bring something to read while you wait at the deserted restaurant patio next door or have someone pick you up. I was waiting almost 3 hours and with everything closed and no public restrooms, it started to get uncomfortable. Back to the service, the guys are very nice and opened on time. I didn't know the service entrance is in front on Ventura Blvd- under the big Italian Assistencia over the gated doors. So avoid the alley with the big potholes. I pretty much got a second First service which my wallet is not happy about thanks to the metal shavings found in my oil. Received a recall notice yesterday for my Piaggio and I'm dropping it today. Ultimately Sherman Oaks was the best offer and on a personal they nicest to work with. So if you are in the LA area and need a Vespa. I really suggest you give them a holler. Friendly, flexible and just plain pleasure to deal with. At no point did I feel pressured or pushed by them. It was a real extraordinary experience. A good scooter mechanic is hard to find! And I'm really grateful to have somewhere reliable to go to for service. Honestly I'd say this is the only place I'd go to in LA. Customer service is friendly and responsive and the mechanics seem to genuinely care and clearly know what they're talking about. I brought my ancient vespa 300 in that had been sitting in my friend's back yard for a few years and was in need of some serious work to reliably run again. They diligently worked the whole thing over, communicated the whole way through to make sure I knew what I was getting, what it was going to cost, and what all my best options were, and got me up and riding for a very fair price. 5 stars is not enough. I had mirrors that were stuck in the wrong position for weeks. Stopped by Vespa Sherman Oaks and they got them lose and set in place. Plus, they checked my oil, tire pressure (low) and replaced a screw I had missing. I was in and out in 10 mins. Great customer service and a beautiful Vespa showroom. Really... what can I say that hasn't already been said?! In October 2018, I bought a 2008 Vespa GT 200 with 1700 miles on it. It had been sitting in someone's garage for awhile, so it needed some basic tuning, etc. but otherwise ran great. I live on the westside near Marina Del Rey/Venice, so I originally brought it to Moto Club, and although the guy was friendly, you can tell they weren't really interested in (or knowledgeable about) working with Vespas. I then begrudgingly took it to PCH Power Sports as it's the only other "Vespa dealership" in my immediate area. Needless to say, those guys were the absolute worst (there's a whole review on their site). Anyway, following numerous bungled trips there, I called Vespa of Sherman Oaks and spoke with Jordan. After just a few moments of speaking with him on the phone, you could already tell that this guy knew what he was doing... AND HE HADN'T EVEN SEEN THE BIKE! He essentially (based on what I had shared) diagnosed the bike and all the things that may have been done improperly. They towed the bike to their shop and Jordan called me back after they had physically diagnosed the bike. A good portion of what he had said prior was accurate. It took about a day and they said the bike was ready. When I went to retrieve it, I met David, the patriarch (it's truly a family business), who was honestly one of the most passionate individuals I've met when it comes to overall quality of product and service. He's also very passionate about the Vespa brand and the entire family is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about every aspect of these bikes! David even provided me with his personal mobile should I ever have a question about my own. Seriously. If there was an award for awesomeness, it would go to these guys. I'm actually thinking of buying a newer model and I know where I'll be going to make my purchase! That said, the GT 200 that I already own now runs like NEW!!! This is not hyperbole. The bike literally feels and sounds different. It's as though the bike is happy! Although it sucks to have had the bad experience with the other shop, I would not have gone into Vespa of Sherman Oaks otherwise (as I don't live in the area). I'll now be making the trek there for all my Vespa needs (and it really isn't that far). If you're thinking about it... don't.
