I bought a used car from this place the day after thanksgiving! A 2015 Jeep Wrangler with 84k on it, 3 days after I realized the radiator had a leak, I contacted my salesman and he told me to call the GM when I called 7 times throughout the next two days he was never in his office, I am a mechanic so I was able to replace the radiator @$100 three days after that with me puttin less than 400 miles on the vechicle the clutch went out, so here goes another $280. knowing better than to even contact these people I did the work myself, while doing the work I noticed the underside of the vehicle was COVERED in oil, after contacting my salesman (because he is the only peRson who can get answers) he told me he was told they put a new oil cooler on the vehicle and the oil was residual from the old one leaking, funny thing is, there is no oil cooler on this vehicle, so the staff there is apparently not truthful with there own staff, what was actually replaced was the oil filter housing unit to the best of my knowledge and what I cAn seee! So can someone explain to me what I paid an $800 pre delivery service fee for!? Now fast forward almost two months I contact my salesman, I notify him that i still hAve not received my tag that I paid for through them, he was very prompt and in the same day notified me that my tag would arrive within the week( it actually arrived the next day!) aside from my salesman and the finance guy I i was disappointed in this whole experience! I useD to work for a Ford dealership so I know what the technicians are supposedd too be doiing on used car inspections, it's apparent tHey are lazy and or the dealership doesn't want to fix things wHen they are not in plain view, as the radiator leak was somewhat hidden you could tell it had been leaking for a while and the coolant waS brand new indicating someone had to put coolant in it, so if it's low why wasn't the system tested! I doo not recommend this place to anyone! We were interested in a truck, secured financing and were told someone else might be interested in it. Robert advised my husband and I to immediately drive to the dealership to finalize the deal. We live an hour from the dealership, but immediately drove over. Robert told my husband he would get Lorenzo, the GM, to speak with us. Lorenzo then refused to sell us the vehicle even though it had not been sold. Total discrimination and lies, not to mention a huge inconvenience on our part. We bought two vehicles from the previous GM at Veteran's Ford. Things have definitely gone downhill since then. We will NEVER give them our business again and will be referring people to another dealership, where we ended up buying a brand new truck with amazing customer service, from now on. Whatever you do, do NOT trade in or sell your car to this dealer. I had a horrific experience trying to sell my car to them. I did an online Kelley Blue Book cash offer which basically means they find dealers who are willing to buy or take your car for a trade in for a set price. I brought my car to Veterans Ford and a woman inspected my whole car for less than 3 minutes. This should have been a red flag since I had visited a previous dealer a couple of days before, and they really took their time to inspect my car (around 20 minutes). Move on and the woman at the Ford dealer goes to the back and comes back fairly quick with an offer that was 1/3 of what Kelley Blue Book had quoted me previously. I inquired on why the offer was so low and the woman proceeds to tell me that they checked the Carfax vehicle report and that there was evidence of an accident and significant structural damage to the car. I was taken aback since the other dealer that I had visited made no mention of these issues after obtaining the Carfax report. I luckily declined Ford's offer and decided to do some further investigation. To my surprise, I payed for my vehicle's Carfax report and guess what?, there is NO history anywhere about my car having any sort of damage, accident or structural damage whatsoever. I wanted to be sure about this before condemning Veterans Ford so I decided to contact the previous car dealer and they were nice enough to confirm that indeed their Carfax report did not show any history of accidents or structural damage to my car. I am appalled by this company and cannot believe this is the type of conniving business they are running. I am already in the process of filing a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection. In the meanwhile do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. read more

We bought our Explorer at this dealership. 10/18 with clean Carfax. In May 2019 I visited the dealer to look at different Explorer and was given a low amount for Trade in my 2016 Explorer with only adding 7000 miles for a total of approx 33,000 miles. That would be $1000 depreciation a month! After discussing the new steering wheel gear under warranty, no accidents and not many added miles, the manager informed the sales person to add $2000 for trade. After telling the sales person I would check another car at Elder Ford, I was informed what to expect over there. To ny surprise at Elder Ford after discussion of trading my car for a car I liked over there, I was shown a Carfax with car accident in November 2016 which later turned out to be added by Carfax in January 2019. Which of course wasn't known at Veterans Ford but SHOULD have been told to me when we discussed the clean Carfax as I was told trade was based on Carfax and condition of the car. In 2017 we went to Veterans to trade our daughter Mercedes and the manager mentioned right away that the car had parts painted which was true as due to love bugs there was some repainting to make the damages from these bugs to be eliminated. For that reason Veterans should have known and told me that the bumper was repainted of my car. The over 170 inspection and certified warranty should have include all info. The proof in form of text that sales person knew an added accident was on my Carfax but not disclosed was unethical and I lost my trust. I also inquired for a part for the Explorer which was $130 more expensive then same part at Elder Ford. I never heard before of Elder Ford but they gained my trust more than Veterans. On top of that the Explorer had to be towed within 2-3 weeks of buying due to dead battery. I wonder what else was kept from me as a new steering wheel gear within 5 month didn't add to dealing with a trust worthy company. I'm glad I went else where and learned the truth. Not sure why Veterans kept the truth as the Carfax accident was added after we bought the car so at that time I wouldn't have hold that against the dealer. This dealer keeps advertising that they will pay up to 120 percent of KBB fair trade in value! FALSE. My 2016 Ford Fusion with 3460 miles was appraised at 13,000.00!!! KBB fair trade in value for my car was 13500.00. WOW. My car is basically flawless. So if you use 120 percent of KBB fair trade in value, my car would be worth 16200.00. Right? Even at 115 percent it would be worth 15,525.00!!! Don't fall for this false advertising! Go to Bill Currie Ford or Brandon Ford. They valued my car at 15,500.00 and 16,000.00 respectively. My best friend also got lowballed by Veterans Ford. He purchased his new car at Bill Currie Ford. If you buy at this dealership you are throwing your hard earned money away!!! read more

Just bought my wife a 2017 Mustang for Valentines Day. In and out in 2 hours. I have bought 15 cars between my wife and kids and they got the sales service down pat. Quick negotiations and they beat their competitor across town by $57.00/month for the same exact car, even the color. Ken was a straight forward sales guy and the sales manager was straight forward about where we were on the numbers. they all checked out from the research I did before hand. Also bought a California Special Mustang for my son there a few years back. If your looking for a Ford, I went to the the three between Wesley chapel and Citrus Park. Just be aware that their "dealer fees" and "administrative fees" are the highest in the industry $799 dealer fee and $199 administrative fee. Unfortunately the dealer fee is supposed to take care of the inspection and service they do to the cars before they put them on the lot, but don't depend on it. While the service department did a good job fixing my car the two times I've taken it there recently, they left my car dirty each time. There were scuff marks from them getting in and out of the car multiple times. The first time it happened I asked them to clean it for me and they did. The second time there was no one to ask so I left a message with the girl at the cashiers desk. I never heard anything. Treating the cars well while they're being serviced should always occur. read more

Do not trust this dealership! We reached out to this dealership for a new truck, in our first email we told them we needed a 4x4, V8 to pull our boat. After going back and fourth most of the day, they had us convinced that we needed their Max Tow truck, it turns out this Max Tow can not get our boat up a ramp, so it makes this truck (which we paid $1400 more than a 4X4, V8 would have been) useless to me. When I called the dealership to ask about this they told me it was a problem with the trailer. I did have the axles on the trailer moved back 8 inches, and now the trailer drags the ground when pulling it out of the water. I am convinced the dealership just had to get rid of this truck since they had multiples on the lot, so they were far more worried about what they needed more than what I needed. This does not equal good customer service, I will never be back and suggest you shop elsewhere, far too many dealerships in Tampa to deal with a dishonest one. read more

Bought a 1yr old $36K+ Used Car. Overall buying experience was fine. David Griffith in Finance was terrific. Met with Robert Coker to view vehicle - upfront impression positive. After the purchase everything went downhill. Had issues and reached out to Robert. When the deal was almost done, I was provided the keys to the vehicle and was told there was only one. Robert said it would cost $150 from "their guy" to get a replacement key fob. Not happy, he took $100 off. Although I think it's crazy, I settled for the $100. I called "their guy" later and found out the key would be $300. He had no idea why they would tell me it would be $150 since the key itself was more. Also,1 week after my purchase I found out the car battery was almost dead. Vehicle would start, but 1 cell was bad. I called Robert and he told me the battery went bad after I left because "batteries can just go any time". I asked if testing a battery was part of their presale inspection, he said "it started and ran didn't it?" He refused to fix the battery. I asked him to send a work order for everything checked in the inspection so I could see how the battery tested. He did text me 2 phone pics of a chopped up "work order" that I could barely read. I asked him to email me a copy, his response was "if I scan it you won't be able to read it." It was obvious he couldn't care less. I asked for the Managers contact info. I called the following morning and spoke to Adam. It was clear Robert prepped him and Adam's condescending tone, arrogance, ignorance, and lack of care was pathetic. I would expect more out of a Manager. After reading other reviews (Yelp) it seems it's a culture that's accepted at Veterans. I should have done more homework up front. I want to point out that during my conversations with Robert or Adam, I was completely professional, expecting the same in return. I also asked Adam if he would take care of replacing a new battery, and he said no. He said "your vehicle is still under bumper to bumper" so maybe it's covered under the Lincoln warranty" and asked if I checked with a Lincoln dealer. Confused, I said that was an excellent point and with them a Ford dealer, aren't they able to provide warranty work and couldn't he tell me if the battery was covered? His reply was "No, Lincoln and Ford warranties are completely different and he wouldn't know if it was covered in the Lincoln warranty." Are you kidding me? A Used Car Manager at Ford is unaware that his own dealership can provide warranty work on a Lincoln? Also, wouldn't a more appropriate response be "I'm sorry you have this issue, let me check into whether or not a battery is covered and I'll get back with you." Nope - not by him. I also said I was upset it was going to cost me $300 for a new key fob when Robert told me it would be $150; he thought it should be $180 and his "key guy" was going to be there today and he would talk to him and let me know. We ended with me again asking to get a copy of the inspection report. He did email it later. There was no line actually testing the battery. It was funny, they checked that my DVD/Video Player was working...I wonder where that sucker is hiding as I don't have one! I replied by stating that I couldn't find where they actually test a battery, and asked what he found out about the key fob. Haven't heard from Adam Pettis since. It's been 2 weeks, so clearly they have no interest in any of my issues. I ended up contacting Lincoln, who replaced my battery. I did buy the key fob there too. In the end, in my experience, Veterans was definitely a get your money and disappear type of dealer. If you're looking for a dealership that will be there for you after the sale as well if needed, and treat you with the respect and decency you and your money deserve, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Completely unprofessional in my experience. Never once was I told "sorry", or offered any help whatsoever. read more

I had been working with a salesman on numbers and we met somewhere in the middle. I drove 3 hours to Tampa (on a friday) to sign the paperwork and be on my way in my new F-150 Platinum. Of course, the first thing we did was go on a test drive. I noticed the Sync system was lagging, unresponsive to touchscreen gestures, and would not connect to bluetooth. Upon arriving back at the dealership my salesman took the truck back to service to have them take a look. They did a factory reset, which does nothing. The service technician said it needed a new apim module and that they would order it right away and have it delivered to my local ford dealership in Jacksonville. Under warranty, of course. So I go on my way. Call up my local dealership on Monday, and they haven't heard a peep from anyone at Veterans Ford. they tell me I must leave it there all day for them to diagnose the problem despite me telling them what the problem was. So I abide. Go all day without my new truck, and then I'm forced to take home a rental car for the night. Not a loaner car, not a truck of equal value off the lot, and rental car! They call me the next day and say they need to order an apim module. You can imagine my response. NO S*&^! They order the module, but unable to tell me when it will arrive and when I can get my truck back. This is unacceptable. Someone that just bought a $60K truck has had it to drive for three days in the first two weeks of ownership. This is all Veterans Ford's fault. They had the truck for three weeks prior to my purchasing the vehicle. This problem did not simply arise the day I decided to drive over and buy it. They knowingly avoided fixing it and sold me the truck in hopes that I wouldn't care because it's covered under warranty still. This is bad business. Not how someone that just spent over $60K with you should be treated. Learn from my lesson! read more

So I had my 2016 F250 there for service that took 10 days!!!! During the process I was having to drive crappy cars and one even smelled like an ashtray. I wrote a Bad review on Google and now here is a worst one. I have since had the truck back in the shop because of an engine light. NO I did not take it to Veterans ford this time. I went to Bill Currie that has a CERTIFIED Diesel mechanic of which Veterans does not. The report came back that during the prior service (at Veterans) the mechanic had cross threaded bolts in the part that it took them 10 days to figure out. The bolts snapped and the part had to be replaced again!!!!! Stay away from Veterans!!!! they will mess up you vehicle and treat you like crap!!!! read more

On the 7th, I was in my Wife's practically new 2014 Mustang Coupe and I got rear ended. Today, I decided that I was going to stop in Veterans Ford of Tampa. I walk in and see this car, sitting not more than 10 foot from the sales desk at 7:30 PM EST this evening. I was literally the only customer they had there, and it took about 5 minutes for the sales associate who was standing there bullshitting to turn around and address the fact I was standing there. There was 6 total sales associates within a 10 foot radius around the desk, so they all knew I was standing there. I told them I was a Marine Vet, and that I am interested in buying a 2018 Ford Mustang. They said that they just had a 2016 Gun Metal Grey come in today, but I told them I wasn't interested in buying a Gun Metal Grey, although I would humor taking it for a test drive. Then I was asked if I wanted a L4, which is a 4 cylinder. I told the sales guy no, I test drove one already and it was laggy, and had no power, and that I wasn't interested in buying one. The next to the youngest sales guy took my license and Veterans ID, and said that he would pull the car around from the back. In the interim, I was standing there talking to the other sales kid. I told them I wanted a yellow 2018, and swear as God is my witness, I described the 5.0 GT sitting behind me. They said that they have a 4 cylinder and a 5.0, but in the 2018's they no longer make a V6. I said no problems, I will take a yellow GT 5.0. He looked up the price, and told me that the only one they had was a white GT 5.0, looked at me and said its 51000, in a completely condescending non-interested tone of voice while he was jacking around on his damn cell phone. He seen how I was dressed and just judged me right off the bat. (I was thinking in my mind, he obviously doesn't think I can afford a car like that) I asked the older of the sales guys standing there if they didn't have what I wanted, could they have it shipped in for me. He blatantly said no. I was thinking WTF. ( In all regards for new car sales, don't tell a customer no with something like this... The damn answer is yes, we can get it especially if they are the manufacturer of the freaking vehicle ). Anyhow, I was already pissed off in the 5 minutes I was there, and walked outside. I grab my cellphone and figured I would just find another Yellow GT 5.0, when around the corner comes the younger guy with the 2016 Gun Metal grey V6. I look at the back of the car, as I was leaning up against the piece of crap the Enterprise car dealer gave me, unshaven, baggy decent dress shirt, and my jeans. I am country.. I am a vet.. I don't give 2 craps what people think of me. He gets out of the car, walks around and hands me the keyfob for the car. I took them, looked down, looked up, and asked... Does your sales people normally act like such condescending, pre-judgemental people? I said, I know what I want, and I want what I want, and I sure as hell don't appreciate being judged within that short of a timeframe walking in as a customer to buy a vehicle. I dropped the keys back in his hand, and said I was just going to take my purchase to another dealer and left. This jackass has a look of awe on his face when I just drove off. The nerve of some people.... In any regard, I drove home and thought I would write up a BBB report, but I did one better. I tracked down the owner of the dealership online and found out that a guy by the name of Frank Rodriguez owns about 50 dealerships in the US and a few in China. I located him online and sent him a friends request with a note, in basic, telling him what I wanted, who I was, and that his sales people at his dealership blew a 51000 sale, and that if he wanted to know why, to get back to me. I figured the owner would want to know the reason for a failure of a sale on the bottom line, due to a group of sales douche-bags at his dealership. read more
