My husband and I go to Vetrano's every chance we get! We drive up on Friday evenings and look forward to the amazing food and the great service. The owner and all the servers are friendly and amazing to us! We have never had a bad meal. Everything we have tried is delicious - whether it's pizza, pasta, fish, veal, chicken - we have no complaints. Prices are very reasonable - one of the few places that still include a dinner salad with your meal. This is definitely our favorite place to eat (and we have tried many). read more

Utterly despicable, and tremendously tragic. I didn't know it was possible for people to mess up so many times in such a short amount of time. I was lifted back up by the hopes of redemption, just be failed again and again. I ordered from Vetrano's at exactly 4:51pm and didn't leave with my food until 5:51pm. I should've known it was gonna be bad when I said the name my order was under to have the lady ask me if "its under a different name?". I kindly repeated my order to her, and then proceeded to wait another 30 mins for my food that I was told was going to be DONE in 30mins. At this point im upset but I let it go...just to get home and realize they gave me a CHEESE pizza instead of a BACON pizza. Now...im fuming. I call back and they offer to deliver another one for free (as they should). Now just when I thought things were getting better, an hour and a half goes by. We call them again, and turns out they got my phone number wrong. Currently still waiting for the pizza. Overall this food was not worth this experience. read more

We decided to stop in for a few slices before driving back home to ct. It was a Friday afternoon so the place was really quiet. So we walk in and the kid behind the counter had a bad attitude like we were bothering him. We ordered a few slices, soup and salad. We sit down and when the food was ready the kid didn't even tell us it was ready and just places the food on the counter. He didn't even bother bringing it over to us. We celebrated several of our family graduates at Vetrano's on Sunday of the Labor Day holiday 2014 with a buffet dinner and could not have asked for, expected or received better quality food, service and professionalism at an abundantly fair and reasonable cost. We had 26 adults and 4 kids and their newish corridor on the far side of the restaurant accommodated us well. While it is a tight space to navigate with that many folks, we moved around easily and could visit with each other and table hop. We organized the food selections with the owner Pasquale who left his family/ brand new baby to personally supervise our party and ensure we were happy. He listened to the food selections I was interested in providing, suggested some changes and knew just the right combinations and amount to provide(I over-ordered - which he told me - and I should have trusted him); if you've ever eaten there, you know the portions are plentiful and you can trust that there will be plenty for your party and no one will go home hungry!! The most important thing is that his food is excellent and abundant and you and your guests will be talking about the quality of the food long after your party is over. We ordered wine by the bottle: white Zinfandel, sauv blanc and Pinot noir, some wine by the glass, draft and bottled beers, and a few drinks to order. We had one server, Jenn, who was so lovely, friendly, helpful and responsive and handled our needy group with great professionalism Here's what we had: -a tray of antipasto Classico that was loaded with assorted cured meats, fresh cheeses, olives, peppers etc over greens, - a garden salad tray (which Pasquale told me I did not need but provided anyway becuz I asked for it and yes, you guessed it, it went untouched as he expected...), -chicken franchese which was deliciously moist and tender and the butter/wine/ lemon sauce so good i used my spoon to scoop up the scrumptious sauce. Because we ate every single piece, Pasquale had his chefs prepare a bit more seeing that we all were enjoying it so thoroughly -rigatoni in vodka sauce that is so unbelievably delicious! The creamy pink sauce is velvety smooth, rich and so satisfying... So good in fact that our guests went back for more so often that there wasn't one piece of pasta left in the tray! - sausage and peppers and potatoes... The meat is from a local shop and is just that- all meat, no gristle--and is soft and tender and spiced perfectly with just a bit of a kick. The potatoes had marinated in the sauce and soaked up all the delicious flavors yielding yummy soft lumps of flavor that were a great texture compliment to the dish. If you could bring home leftovers it would be amazing over a bowl of pasta or sandwich roll. - " for the kids", a tray of Pasta with pomodoro sauce... Thick with fresh tasting tomato bits and accented with fresh herbs it was light and uncomplicated. Again Pasquale advised that I wouldn't need this and he was right (give me more of that vodka sauce!!) but we managed to eat most of it just the same. -3 pizzas: 2 grandma and 1 cheese. More than we needed because I asked for the pasta pomodoro but we all fought over who got to bring home the uneaten grandma pizza. We had coffee afterwards served at table. Criticism: Arranging the date and details of the party was difficult. I went to the restaurant twice and called several times over 3 weeks. I was told repeatedly by several people that i had to speak to the hostess. She could not finalize my plans and in fact gave me wrong information which I didn't know until I insisted on speaking to the restaurant manager. He told me he had to in turn speak to the owner who called me back several days later after I called again. Once I got to speak to the owner he informed me that in a group situation he determines a price per person depending on what I want to serve and to how many. He also told me they would not normally have accepted a party of my size on a holiday weekend but because my reservation had been accepted by his staff and I had already invited all of my attendees, he honored the reservation. I was not provided an agenda nor was I sure exactly what food I'd be served but the owner/Pasquale encouraged me to trust him...he would make sure it would work out... So even tho I wasn't sure exactly what I would find when I arrived in terms of set up and flow of things, I took a leap of faith. This is the second time we've been to this restaurant and it did not disappoint! We are from out of town and when we first went to this restaurant a couple years ago it didn't seem to be a great section of town and in a strip mall. But we were pleasantly surprised, so much so we went back again when we were in town. All entrees come with a fresh tossed salad, wonderful fresh baked focaccia bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar! This visit I had the Rigatoni Ala Vodka Sauce - very good and very plentiful. My sister had the cheese ravioli ... she was very happy with her choice. Very attentive service, excellent food. We stopped in on a Saturday night and it was quite busy in the restaurant and for take out - I highly suggest you give it a try - you won't be disappointed. My only complaint - the booth seats really need to be redone ... they are very worn and the springs are shot. read more

I don't often leave reviews, but after having stumbled across this gem I just had to! It is the perfect "date night" place. My boyfriend and I decided to try it out because of the reviews we saw on Facebook. We weren't expecting anything other than typical pizza joint, but, we were stunned with the exceptional service and delicious dinner. I had the chicken francese, and my boyfriend has the rigatoni vodka, I wish we hadn't devoured it so fast so I could post a picture but it was that good! Our server Jen was so knowledgeable she answered ALL of my questions (it takes me forever to decide!) and did not even blink an eye after grating fresh parmesan cheese over the rigatoni vodka for five minutes it's the best part right haha! ordered a pizza and stromboli and was told to pickup in 30 minutes. arrived in 40. wife went in to pick up and not ready. waited a few minutes more and went in myself. saw my stromboli go in the oven to be reheated. never saw the pizza but stromboli came out burnt and placed in take out box. asked if he burned it and he said yes. had my purchase refunded and left. would have appreciated a little honesty about the order since my wife asked twice about the order and was lied to each time. whole idea about takeout is to not be standing around inside during a pandemic. read more

Unfortunately, the service at the restaurant was incredibly poor. Not only did our waitress ignore us, but she was also blatantly rude to my party and even threw our bill at us. The food was average, but took a very long time to come out. I also tried takeout. On the phone, the server told me my order would take 20 min. When I arrived to Vetrano's 20 minutes later to pick up my order, I was greeted by over 10 other parties waiting to pick up their takeout orders. However, the staff had everyone pay and said the food would be out shortly. Instead, I waited an hour for my takeout order of 3 items. No one explained the issue to the crowd of frustrated people waiting, and when customers asked for refunds, discounts, or to cancel orders and leave, the response of Vetrano's staff was "We don't do refunds." When customers' food finally arrived, many opened their pizzas to find them cold and stiff. As compensation, staff offered some (only the incredibly angry) customers a free side salad. Pathetic. Food is good, is quite overpriced though. Ive had better at high end restaurants as well as mamas/papas kind of place for less. Very disappointed about their menu advertisement about delivery for large orders, when they really don't offer delivery at all! Unless is for catering. They should specify delivery for catering only. Having to feed a family of four with a crazy schedule I do take out and order for delivery very often and make "large orders"! So I was disappointed to know that an almost $90 order is not good enough order for delivery. Needless is to say I'll give my business to other local restaurants in the area. read more

Came here on a Friday night with no reservations and the wait was only about 5 minutes. The service was great, very polite respectful and friendly. It has a great atmosphere, feels cozy like you're in a Italian Restaurant in Italy. Now to the food the bread is amazing, came out hot and fresh. Appetizers were also great, along with our dinner!!! Pizza was fresh, raviolis were large, pasta with meatballs were a hit with the kids! Overall me and my family would come back. read more

I ordered four pizzas, one of which was pepperoni, but was given cheese instead. The service, as always, was excellent, but what happened to your generously laddened and delicious tasting pizza? Tonight after we were done at the beach I decided to ask some of the local people if there were any good Italian restaurants around the area that weren't too pricey but had good food. Name that came up was Vetrano's Italian restaurant. We plugged in the coordinates and were on our way. When we arrived I looked at the outside and wasn't impressed at all, but when we went in that was another story!! The outside doesn't do the inside justice that's all I can say. We were seated very quickly and had a waitress right away. Like everyone says the bread is "amazing" same with the dipping sauce. The salad and soup came quickly also. Our dinner was spaced nicely in between. Three of us had chicken parmigiana and the size of the meat was great. Rest of the family enjoyed their meal too. Needless to say we were full, so no room for dessert. Everything all in all it was a great experience. Thanks from travelers from New York who were very full and happy when we left!! read more

My husband and I were looking for "pizza" on New Years night, after driving down from Ct. to watch the sunset at Watch Hill. We were directed to Vetranos, by another pizza place because they did not offer the dine in service that we were looking for. What a pleasant surprise! We were seated at a cozy booth and immediately served the most delicious warm bread with chunky, garlicky dipping oil that was so delicious! Our waitress, Jen C.- was sweet and very accommodating with our very "schizophrenic" pizza order! We had lobster bisque which was excellent and we also split a perfect Creme Brulee for dessert. I liked the thin pizza crust, and the flavors were excellent. I think the pizza could have used a drizzle or two of olive oil, but being a white pizza may explain why it was a little dry. When the bill came, it seemed small for all of the food we had, along with the great service and the clean, romantic atmosphere we experienced. The next time we are down that way- we will be sure to stop in again! read more

In all honesty, we ordered tonight and we are local, ordered one special, seafood medley, one linguine with white sauce and a chicken cacciatore, told the woman in the phone when ordering exactly how we wanted the irder. The order was less than adequate. The linguin5with clams came with NO sauce, the cacciatore with was asked with a side of pasta WITH the cacciatore sauce came plane pasta and the cacciatore was pathetic & the special had a very bad smell. Went in for dinner with my friend this week and it was outstanding as usual. My arugula salad with grilled shrimp was excellent, they have big juicy shrimp here that are always cooked right. Funny thing we went into Vetrano's with the intention of having Italian, last minute we decided on fish. My husband had the fish and chips made with fresh flounder. He said it was the best in the area. I had the fresh salmon special with zucchini, artichokes and garlic over a bed so risotto. OMG!!! Really it was so fresh, full of flavor and steaming hot. Compliments to the chef. The owner came over to greet us and was very hospitable. Our server, Amanda was delightful and had just the right amount of attentiveness. Last dinner out we went up to Matunick for seafood. That dinner paled in comparison to our local Vetrano's. Excellent dinner that was beyond expectations. read more

I consistently experience slow wait times for take out. As I give my name to pick up the order, they begin right then to prepare the items. Had a 6pm reservation for my grandfathers B-day for a party of six, got seated immediately which was great.... then we waited *This was on a Tuesday night! . Waitress was nice, but rushed through specials and didn't answer questions. We got bread (thank goodness) and drinks, ordered and waited...... and waited.... and waited. It took over 50 minutes for 6 pasta dishes! Plus it was super warm, we were seated near the kitchen door! Food was okay, my husband and I were both underwhelmed by our dished, both good just not 100% what we expected, the "clam sauce" was clam still in the shell.
