[[HIGHLIGHT]]Popped in during a downpour and was seated inside, but fortunately, we found outdoor seating on their covered patio and DOGS are allowed![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We hung out w a 2 large boys (Grand Pyrenees and a mixed fluffy one) and on our other side was a Boxer... We very much enjoyed our server, Danny and his efforts to keep us entertained. If anyone asks, he's from Romania! Lol We enjoyed the wings, tots and cheese curds - they were so good! Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of our food... just a heads up, the espresso martini tasted more like a chocolate martini so a bit too sweet for my liking, but finished w the lavender martini and it was tasty! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cheers to dogs and cocktails[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside and it was cute and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered perch, turkey club, and the ribs with walley special. Both the walley and perch were just delicious! Cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The tartar sauce was good. My sister alcohol t stop talking about the club. It was stacked with meat.

VI is your quintessential small town local joint... [[HIGHLIGHT]]Laid back lake vibes, friendly locals, good/reasonably priced food, and great service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Recommend the perch nugs and walleye, as both were outstanding. VI is arguably one of the better restaurants on the Leelanau peninsula... Definitely worth the stop when staying up in Lake Leelanau/Suttons Bay if you're looking for a chill place to go.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't noisy being right on Main.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great people and dog watching.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was really good. We had some type of fish (I think it had a funny name) and it was excellent.

Had a great meal there twice last week. My husband is hooked on the Perch bites and I had the best salad it had lettuce, tomatoes, walnuts, goat cheese, strawberries and dried cherries with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. So good!

    Fish and chips

The best fish and chips we have ever had! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a bit pricey but the views and quality of food made up for it[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great ribs! Terrible dessert... Freezer burned ice cream and yucky crust for the pie. Great for food and drinks though!

First off, it's conveniently located to where we are. Secondly, their menu, though standard American pub food has more than a few options to choose from, which is great when you're trying to accommodate a larger party. They've got a few different flatbreads, several burger options (including a veggie burger), and sandwiches like BLTs, lobster rolls, French dip, etc. There are also a few salad options and of course entrees like fish and chips, mac and cheese (also available with lobster or bang bang shrimp), and several other options. My usual so far is the M-22 burger (topped with cheddar, bacon, an over easy egg, and LTO) with a side fries. Definitely not the most healthy thing on the menu but definitely quite good! BTW, on their small plates menu they have a meatloaf cupcakes which I have always wanted to try but never got around to because no one else would split them with me! So if you're up for sharing a plate, hit me up!

Consistently so delicious and creative. I also like that they let us share (and gave two plates for us both). It was busy and they gave us a seat on the back porch after 20 min or so without previous reservations. We couldn't reach them by phone; so just went in person. Their soups are my favorite thing. I'd bathe in it. This time was celery root and 5 years ago was parsnip. They have the same base of garlic, onion, cream puréed and just know how to do it. Excellent service each time too! My husband loved the SALAD (which he had never said in his life before) as well as the wagyu steak dish and Butterscotch mousse w/ short bread cookie that was best we have ever had (the chefs step dads recipe). After that they gave an extra little snacky of peanut brittle and pop rock orange like candy. The kimchi fritters were my other favorite dish of the night. Very happy cool place.

I checked yelp and saw mixed reviews- I totally get it now. We sat on the back patio which was quiet and shady. The outdoor bar looked like a great spot to have a beer outside in the shade and my Dad said he probably will stop there again to do that in the fall. The food was incredibly hit or miss. Cherry burger: my husband said "as long as it isn't a burger with three sad cherries on it I bet it will be great". It was a burger with three sad cherries on it! He appreciated that they cooked it properly but was underwhelmed and agreed it was not what he expects from a $22 burger- even in a tourist town. Jambalaya: My Dad loved this even though he said it was too much rice. There were 3 large shrimp and some sausage in it as well. He is truly picky and would order again. Kids noodles: bow ties, good portion. My son loved them. Kids chicken: unusually heavy breading which was borderline burned in the frier on top of tough chicken. I had to peel the breading off for him to eat any of it. Walleye and Morels: the walleye was GREAT. Lightly breaded, moist and flakey. The morel sauce was a miss. Not much flavor and the morels- though quite a few- just weren't that good. Not the best $35 meal I have had by a long shot. The wild grains were all sage and the veggies were extra oily- seems like a seasoning issue more than anything on that plate. Overall I would go back and might even order the walleye again with the sauce on the side and see if I can sub the sides. I also had the lobster bisque and would order that again (but I would ask for bread). May the ordering and seasoning odds be in your favor!

The Oliver (triple) was exactly what I'd been craving in a Michigan-style olive burger. The pimento olive spread was generously slathered on to the crispy lacey-edged smash burger patties topped with Swiss cheese on a nicely toasted brioche bun. The olive spread was perfect...just enough to be bursting with flavor, but not so overpowering that it dominated the entire burger. The fam tried The Junction and The Laura, both on lightly toasted Gluten Free buns. The Junction (Glendale's version of the classic Oklahoma onion burger) was very good, and the GF bun was met with positive reviews. Glendale even offers GF fries, which were excellent (their normal fries are seasoned & battered; but the GF fries were a bit better). If you're looking for a thicker, juicier burger, this is not your place. These are straight up paper thin, crispy smashers. And if that's what you're looking for, I'd recommend no less than a double, if not a triple. Drink selections include bottles of various Northwoods sodas, sparkling water, and other choices from the cooler. Glendale presents as an old-school diner, with cool decorations and some posters of Saginaw heritage (the owner's roots). Speaking of the owners...the lady working the register and delivering food to everyone was one...and she was super sweet and nice. It made for a great experience right out of the gate as we were figuring out what we wanted to order. You walk up to the counter and order, then they deliver to your table; or you can sit on a stool at the counter, just like a classic diner. Plenty of seating, but when they get busy, it fills up quickly, yet the service remains fast for the cooked-to-order burgers & fries. Décor is fun (they have a Big Boy!) & fitting for the diner vibe. The entire place is extremely clean and well kept. Pride of ownership shines through in the entire experience.

It's an old house that has been transformed into a burger destination. The inside is cramped, especially in the order area when they're busy, and indoor seating is tough to come by at peak times. The service has never been anything short of excellent on our visits. The staff is welcoming, helpful, patient, and friendly. Service is quick, even when they're slammed. Phenomenal burgers, O-rings, tots, and sweet potato fries. The Northwood's DRAFT (not fountain) root beer is a perfect pairing with their burgers. Slabtown's menu of specialty burgers is enormous and the BYO options include different protein choices and excellent GF buns. I've tried many of their burgers, but have to say that the Slabby Patty on a pretzel bun and the Pungi's Pepper Patty really stood out as a couple of my favorites. For a really sinful (and unhealthy) treat, ask for the gravy tots. Oh brother...insanely good but definitely a guilty pleasure.
