I had my daughter's First Communion party here this weekend (originally supposed to be at the owner's other restaurant Via Veneto 26 - but they offered their brand new space instead and I took the owner up on that offer). Everything was absolutely great! The food was phenomenal (I expect nothing less having eaten at Via Veneto 26!) and the service was stellar. The owner, Ariano, was so helpful through the entire afternoon! I could not be happier with how my daughter's special day was handled. My next favorite local Italian restaurant. We went for dinner last night and we were not disappointed. The ambiance is great and so was the food and service. The owner walks over to every table and greets everyone. We were offered a free drink after dinner which was great. We said we'd rather have a glass of wine and right away, the owner returned with two glasses of wine. They have multiple party rooms to accommodate special events. Definitely worth going to. Venue is upscale, yet casual. Nice not to have neighboring tables right on top of us. We took the owner's, Ariano's, food recommendations, and the five of us were served family style. Service was terrible! pizza was good , bread was good but main courses were nothing to write home about. Portions were too small and chicken was tough. My friend had the specialty pasta which she said was ok but not large enough of a portion. Wait staff couldn't get out of each other's way but they were busy and working hard. Seemed like a bunch a bus boys and an owner or manager. And to top it all off owner/manager (who surely is NOT Italian) was very rude to his workers which is a HUGE turnoff. Wow, such wonderful service! We felt very welcomed as soon as we entered into this restaurant, which itself was beautifully decorated on the inside for the Christmas season. I went for lunch and had the linguine puttanesca. Hearty portions and super flavourful! Even the bread served alongside with garlic oil is spot on. I absolutely loved this place. I came here on Columbus Day when they were technically closed but the owner was nice enough to let us dine anyway. I got the Fioretti pasta dish which was to die for. Excellent food and excellent service! We came here a few weeks ago and then went again last week and brought friends. Their bread and octopus appetizer is amazing. We also ordered the pappardelle de la mama and the zuppe di pesce, which were both fantastic. The zuppe di pesce was one of the best that I've had. The service here is also amazing. The owner is extremely nice and wonderful, and even gave us tea and coffee on the house at the end. Their lunch specials are also pretty good. They did take a little longer than anticipated to deliver (an hour vs. 30-45 mins, so not too bad), but the food was still hot and very good. I will definitely be back for more! read more

Went on Saturday night and were pleasantly surprised with free valet parking. We had cocktails at the huge gorgeous bar and a lovely dinner outside on the patio. We just love Via Garibaldi. The food has been consistently delicious the three times we have had dinner there. They are accommodating and and gracious and even if they bring a dish that is not exactly what we ordered, they take it back, bring something to tie us over like a salad, gratis, and then make the dish as ordered. Not a negative word is spoken and the waiters are super accommodating. It is our go to place for Italian food when we go out with a couple that has dietary restrictions. I was not impressed with the food. Had calamari for an appetizer. I usually like calamari, but it didn't taste as good. The bread they give you in the beginning was good and that was the best part of the meal. The venue is good for parties and can be loud for two people having a dinner. This is a mob front. There's no other explanation for the 4 stars. This restaurant is another reminder that it is totally worth the trouble to drive into Manhattan for a meal rather than hope to find something that is both quality and of value in Westchester County. I made a reservation for myself and my family here with high hopes for a great meal based on the reviews. After the experiencewe had there I have no doubt that this is a mafia front. Mediocre Italian food- including desserts which are provided by some third-party Italian dessert vendor - that cost 3X what it should in an ambiance that is just 'eh'. (We were seated next to an enormous square pillar in a half empty dining room which completely overshadowed our table and made us feel a bit claustrophobic). I will keep this short. We ordered, and when we paid the bill we left 10% on the card and gave a second 10% in cash to the one nice person (and only female waitress) working there. We will never return and we will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I don't understand the good reviews that this restaurant has received. I went to Via Garibaldi last Thursday evening for the 1st time, which will no doubt will be my last! To begin with I found it quite uncomfortable being the only people dining in a large restaurant, beside a priest dining at the table behind me and a couple and their dog (no kidding) sitting on the other side of the restaurant across from me. Perhaps their chef quit that night or may have been sick, but of the table of 10 people we had, more than half of us left our food on the table because it was worse than bad, it was pathetic! I can't rate anyone else's meal, since I wasn't eating theirs, but I couldn't eat the pork chops which I ordered from their specials of the day. They were supposed to be served with peppers, onions and potatoes. When the plate was served I could only see onions, peppers, and potatoes in red sauce. I would imagine that the pork chops were somewhere underneath. Before I could say anything, the waiter offered to take them back, which he did, and prepare them again without the red sauce and in the manor he originally described when he offered the specials to us. Fifteen minutes later he came out with 2 plates, the first had 2 very small pork chops, the second had onions, peppers, and potatoes. If that wasn't odd enough, since it is suppose to be on one dish, you could plainly see that the pork chops and the vegetables had the red residue from the sauce that had been rinsed off from the prior dish that they tried to serve to me before. Again, before I could say anything the waiter said that he would take the dish back, which I agreed with completely, and take it off our bill. In addition the appetizers, both hot and cold, which we let the chef choose for our table, were horrible. The cheese and provisions that they served in the cold platter were cheap, low grade and tasteless. The quality of the food in general was very poor and the meal preparation was atrocious. The décor of the restaurant itself was very nice, but sitting in an empty restaurant staring at empty place settings and being served food that I wouldn't consider feeding to a starving person, is disturbing. It is also puzzling since this restaurant has gotten good reviews? Maybe the chef did quit that night and a busboy had prepared our meals, however the quality of the food that they served was that of a desperate restaurant hanging on for survival in the last weeks/days of their existence! The free dessert and coffee that they offered us did absolutely nothing to change my opinion of the dinner that preceded. Unless something changes drastically, I can imagine that other reviews will be posted similar to mine providing this restaurant remains in business. read more

We recently moved to Westchester from the city and this restaurant has been our favorite. The quality of food and service is consistently excellent, and it is that and more importantly the hospitality that keeps us coming back. It is our family's favorite place and makes us feel known and welcome whenever we are here. While feeling elegant for adults, the restaurant is also our kids' favorite. Can't say enough good things and they have valet parking in a nearby lot, which makes the whole experience better. Posting a review because it is so well-deserved. It was my strangest experience at a restaurant in my entire life. There was a party going on and one of the employees or manager started to get very agitated towards a party of 20+. He (the manager) ran over, bumped into 2-3 people standing around their table and started yelling at someone (a patron) . Moral of the story I won't be back until that manager is long gone! We are visiting from the west coast and wanted Italian as most Italian on the west coast is average at best. So we scrolled through Yelp and started reading reviews on various local restaurants and came across Via Garibaldi. What struck us was that most reviews were very good and were answered by the owner. From our perspective if he was that interested to read and answer most reviews he must be paying a lot of attention to his food also. So we gave it a try. We really enjoyed our meal. With plenty of outside seating you walk through the bar which was very busy to a large main dining room that also had two private rooms enclosed by glass. The menu was great, we had Baked Clams (you can't get them on the west coast) and then we had seafood pasta which came with a great side salad. The wine list for us was different as we usually see mostly California wines, here were some very good Italian wines (surprised to see a Nebbiolo wine on the list), we had a very nice Super Tuscan. The waiter was knowledgable and very attentive. During our dinner one of the owners came by to ensure our dinner was good and had a great conversation. Offered us a free dessert (we took Italian cookies for coffee in the morning) but we were stuffed from the meal. For anyone traveling this is a great stop and if you are local you need try it. read more

Possibly the worst restaurant meal we have ever had! The Veal Insalata came with salad falling off the plate appearing to have been dumped on the overcooked dry veal. The only saving grace was that the grossly over dressed salad moistened the veal. My wife ordered a chicken with portabella mushrooms. Her opinion was that the chicken had been heating for the last hour, dry and tasteless; the mushrooms had absolutely no seasoning. Others at our table had pasta dishes which had no presentation. Dining out is supposed to be a pleasant experience this was very disappointing. We left most of our food and later had something elsewhere. read more

I knew we were off to a good start when we were served an unusual type of fresh, warm, soft pizza bread with tasty seasoned oil. The experienced waiter had a perpetual smile which was refreshing! Entree's were plentiful and tasty; I had linguini with white clam sauce which was loaded with clams and served with nice salad.
