This was our second time at Via. We are so glad we found it! The food is wonderful. I tried the grilled ceasar with some trepidation on the recommendation of our waiter. Loved it! The pastas are great, I adore the meatballs with spaghetti marinara and the shrimp and lobster florentine. My husband said the suckling pig was delicious. Great food, great service. I visited this restaurant while on a business trip. The staff was great especially our server David. I had the surf turf and pasta which was excellent. The girl likes the place more than I do. She usually gets the Scallops and Pesto which she raves over and I just grab one of their many gourmet pizzas. I can't tell if I like this place. If were deciding on a place to go, we always come up with an excuse to not go, or to try something else. Service is okay, atmosphere is tolerable, the food is delicious. I have to say, for Worcester, this was top-shelf! I brought my Mother-in-law here to celebrate her 60th and was pleasantly surprised by the warm, rustic decor, of an old factory, mixed with very dressy candlelight. The waitstaff was very attentive (I remember we seemingly had two of them with us all evening.) I think enjoyed the the appetizers better than the entrees. The Fonduti, a melty-mixture of cheese with what could have been speck or proscuito mixed throughout, and served with warm bread was TO-DIE-FOR! I would go back just to have that with a cocktail. I remember the cocktails being delicious also. I'm a gelato snob. It drives me nuts when restaurants or vendors claim to be selling the real thing, when it's nothing more than a cheap imitation. Via has the real deal. No joke. We enjoyed a scoop of Pistachio, Ciocolatto and Fragola!!! Good thing I'm not lactose intolerant, huh? read more

Wonderful! My advice is to go at off-peak times. The wait can be long otherwise. This is a place where I pick two or three favorite dishes and order them every other time. I know some people may have had bad experiences here, but if you ask the waiter or waitress what's good on the menu, they generally will not steer you wrong. read more

Came here with a group for happy hour specials before an event. We were seated in the bar area and the staff were very attentive and helpful with the menu. Food was amazing and the prices were good for the portions and time of day (around 5pm). I cannot wait to go back for dinner on my birthday. Oh and try the gelati! Decor great, bar area trendy and inviting. Bar staff were impersonal. We were there for drinks only and had to decline the offer of a menu three times - sorry, I thought a bar was for drinking at. Drink prices are high. Valet parking is $3 plus tip. You can actually park yourself in the same place they park your car but there are no signs saying that. Wish the staff, prices and food (I've eaten here before and not rated it highly) could be better, as its such a nicely decorated place. read more

Food was tasteless, bread was doughy & cold to the point of being stale. Extensive wine list-need traditional Italian cuisine versus Wild Boar lasagna had an overpowering butter flavor. Overpriced and underwhelming. Service is very good. Food, not so much. 4 of us dined together. The one who ordered suckling pig liked his very much. One of us ordered something he could not eat and he had to send it back. No one at the table thought it was so great that they even wanted to come back to spend the money there. For some reason my boss is obsessed with VIA, and every work lunch that we have takes place at this restaurant. First, I will say that they are INCREDIBLY accommodating to large groups. The service is surprisingly fast and efficient, they obviously know what they're doing. However, I feel like the food is just okay. I've never really had anything bad... but I really haven't had much that's stood out to me either (and trust me, at this point I've tried almost the entire menu). The pizza is probably the best thing they have, its nice a thin-crusted with unique toppings. They also make a killer white wine sangria. However, it is presented as this fantastic italian restaurant and that it is not. It does have a nice enough atmosphere, and I love the open kitchen. read more

As a newish Yelp member, I'm catching up on my reviews. I've lunched twice here at VIA with a friend. We've been looking for a replacement to Vinny T's for our occasional Italian lunches. Now, please don't roll your eyes when I compare VIA to Vinny T's--I know that they are in a different category of restaurant. However, we always consistently decent Italian food (and great roasted garlic) at Vinny T's at a price that wouldn't break the bank. The food at VIA was definitely more interesting and original, but it's much, much, much more pricey. I don't mind high prices if the food is exceptional, but although the presentation was always top-notch, the flavors were simply "fine". I haven't been wowed, despite the fact that we went twice and tried different things. If we're in a pinch, we'll go back, but I won't rush. read more

Had a great expirence here a few nights ago. Great Italian menu. Crostini appetizer was very good and a great value as well. I had the pork shank with risotto and was very pleased. The risotto was a little softer than "optimal" but not mushy and had good flavor. Shank was delicious. I had the crepe cake for dessert and was conflicted. The flavor was good and not too sweet as I like my desserts but the crepe texture was not my favorite. Of course it is beautiful in there like all of the restaurants in the group. The best part of the meal my have been our server Tim. He was helpful, prompt, and a pleasure to deal with. I will return soon. read more

Today was the third time I've eaten there, all for lunch. I have had the Chicken Marsala, their Hamburger, and today, the Meatball Panini. I've never been disappointed. The Chicken Marsala was memorable: cooked perfectly. I had a side of penne pasta with marinara sauce. The sauce was nice and chunky, and not overwhelming with garlic. I had the burger at the bar. I like mine cooked rare, with a nice crust on the outside. And that's just how they made it - very juicy. The one draw back is their french fries are cut thing, and I do like thick cut. The Meatball Panini was huge! It came with fries and I was able to get marinara sauce instead of ketchup. The Meatballs were very flavorful and moist. I will definitely order it again. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy Via. Be prepared for parking problems! There is a small lot for the restaurant about a half block away and it fills quickly. And go to relax and stay a while. read more

Absolutely the best meal we had while here on business. The service was spectacular. I had the Tuscan Pork Chop. There were 3 of us at dinner and it was all so good we shared with each other. The creme brûlée was so good I would go back just for that. Portions are very generous. read more

I have been to Via twice now and I absolutely love it. I travel quite a bit to the area from Southern California and I make it a point to come here once every trip. Lovely restaurant! Loved the outdoor seating! The weather this evening was perfect! The servers were friendly and patient with our large group. I wish our server was a bit more knowledgeable about Italian wines as I asked for their recommendation for an Italian wine and was recommended a California wine. The salmon was very colorful as it was served with peas and purple potaties. It was quite a large serving, and it was a served well done. For the price I don't think VIA is really worth the money unless you have been there before and have a targeted knowledge of what is good and what to stay away from. Unfortunately, I have to agree with some of the previous reviews when it comes to the staff, they are let's put it bluntly... not good. The atmosphere is a bit strange which is not a result of the beauty of the building which is spectacular. It rather, it a product of a hard to define lack of experience on the part of the staff and possibly the management since they are ultimately responsible. Sit out on the covered patio, try the tomato w/ mozzarella and basil salad with a large square, thin crust, brick oven pizza. The price is less than the other entrees and far superior. With many other options on Shrewsbury Street for Italian food, to waste your time on these entrees is a mistake. The main dishes are overpriced, bland Italian cuisine lacking in imagination and flavor. For me there are just too many other options at a better value with better food to come back here other than to find a place to take a group of people too large to fit into the better Italian kitchens around. read more

Found out about this place when my friend and I were having dinner at "Sienna" in Providence, RI while trying to pick up these two girls sitting at the table next to ours. To make the long story short, one the girls is a waiter at VIA. A few weeks later, my friend decided to check out this restaurant out and loved it. We ended up having dinner here back in late Aug. with some friends and food was so good. We had the baked clam casino, calamari and bruschetta as appetizers. I had the seafood mariana (delish!) with the side choice of a caprese salad. SOOOO good. The portions were large. Service was fast, the waitress was very friendly and cute. We went through three bottles of wine and not once did the bottle go completely empty before one of the waiters was by our table asking if we would like another, now that's what I call service! If you have room for dessert, I highly recommend the "Blood Orange Sorbetti", and I mean HIGHLY. They offer samples of their gelatos and sorbetti. They're all good but I think the Blood Orange is the best one. I'll definitely be back for more. On a side note, our bill came out to be close to $250, worth it though. read more

Our table started with the antipasto and the bruchetta appetizers and both were great. For dinner our party ordered 2 shrimp scampis, the haddock, tuscan chicken, tuscan pork chop and Beef Braciole. all meals were delicious! The majority of the meals on the menu do not come with pasta, but with a risotto or potatoes, but all options were great. Each meal comes with a house salad as well. We took our son here for his 21st birthday. The food was good, especially the Ragu of Italian Meats. It was very authentic. The Bruschetta was very good as well. The plate of italian cold cuts we ordered as an appetizer was warm...not good for cold cuts. My wife ordered the veal scaloppine, which was very good. I ordered the salmon, which was ok, but nothing special. Our waitress was nice, but overall the service lacked spark.
