One of our favorite restaurants. The food is great the atmosphere is great and the service is great. My only complaint is when they take favorite items off the menu. Our absolute favorite appetizer is the Fonduta of Italian Cheeses. The most delicious thing ever. And they took it off the menu and replaced it with a fondue, which was just ok. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars if I were able. Great service, we like the atmosphere but the food is just ok.... not bad but I can't say I would come back because of the food. Plus it's expensive... $25 for Chicken Parm & $8 for 2 meatballs as an appetizer. Jessica was outstanding along with Greg. My wife had a Pesto cream sauce pasta dish which she enjoyed. We didn't make reservations but we had our choice of sitting in the enclosed porch or at a high top near the bar. We choose the high top. Restaurant was extremely hot...... I was uncomfortable in the beginning but it seemed to get better by the end of the meal. Overall, it was good & they have valet parking and the guys were very polite.... even running inside to find out if we needed a reservation. However, it does cost $5. We will probably check out some other restaurants in Worcester the next time but we'd come back because we did have a good time. read more

My first time to Via and Worcester. Showed my Southern by asking for sweet tea. After the server got over his "wwhhhaaatttt???", he graciously obliged with iced tea and sweetener. Ordered the Lobster Risotto - absolutely delish! Wait staff were very pleasant and helpful. Checked on us but not too much. Patio was perfect for the kind of evening/weather we had. Went on a Friday night at around 8 pm and got seated right away. Had the best waiter, very fast service. Had the jumbo shrimp cocktail and sausage and ricotta stuffed peppers. Both were very good! I got the lobster stuffed shells and they were delicious. They use a lobster marinara so it is very fishy but tastes good. My boyfriend got the chicken parmigiana and it comes with a very large piece of chicken. He thought it was good, but average. Brownie sundae was great as well. read more

This used to be our go to spot until the last time we went there. Restaurant was not at full capacity and we arrived there before peak time.. after we were asked if we had a reservation and told greeter no, she was quite rude. Tried to seat us in the outdoor seating in which they had space heaters going but it was not enough. No by consideration that I used a cane and had walking issues. Manager caught on of scenario and told her to seat us in the room near the kitchen. When we were being sat there , she connected with a nasty look to our server. Just left the restaurant for a Valentines Day Dinner. I had the pleasure of being served by Samantha and Kevin. Immediately when we were seated we were greeted and provided drinks that took no time at all. Samantha gave us the run down about the specials, allergies & was just very attentive, Kevin came not to long after and confirmed everything which was great teamwork. Our complimentary bread, our drinks and entrees came in a timely fashion. The service from Samantha and Kevin was impeccable and made our dining experience EXCELLENT! We've visited Via several times since it opened and unfortunately they just can't deliver on the food service. The atmosphere is always pleasant and the wait staff is generally satisfactory. We ordered an appetizer and three main course meals. The bread and oil they serve prior to the meal is bland and lacks flavor and effort. The appetizer we ordered was calamari; the order came out in a timely manner, marinara lacked flavor, the calamari portion was small for the price and was over salted, otherwise it was average in terms of taste and cook. We ordered three main courses, I'm not going to go into detail, however, this seems to always be the case at this restaurant: the shrimp scampi had so much butter and oil it was literally swimming, the salmon dish was raw in the middle, the pasta dish lacked flavor and was very bland. The atmosphere is not worth the price and neither is the food, many better and more reasonably priced options in the city for Italian. read more

Can't really criticize the food as after 75 minutes of waiting, with nothing but a salad being served, we had to leave to make a show. Worst food ever - don't know why I go back - eggplant dry and burnt ( obviously precooked) and recommended "lobster special = tiny stuff shells that had one piece of something seafood in it and was covered with an awful Alfredo sauce similar taste to velveeta. Food also came cold and had to be sent back - got $10 off a meal but it didn't matter when we paid $48 for a bottle of Chardonnay I could have gotten for $16 down the street at the package store. What really topped it off for me and led me to this review was I took out my money to pay and left my license on the table - when I got home, I called to ask them To help look For it and the hostess could barely speak with me and was put out that I asked for her to look/inquire - I had to call back again to give her my number as she was so Impatient. Four of us had a business lunch here. It was the first time here for 2 of 4 of us. The service was outstanding. They were on top of things, without lurking. The lunch menu had wonderful variety from salad and sandwiches, to pasta and pizza. We had a meal from all groups and we were all happy. I went here after a show at the Hanover theater with 6 other women. We had a reservation and were seated promptly in a little nook, just perfect for our group. We had apps, drinks, dinner and dessert, everything was top notch. All our entrées were served within minutes of each other. The waitress was on top of everything. Will definitely be back. read more

Food quality is great. Service is provided by personnel who try very hard to please but lack experience. One troubling house rule is that waiters are instructed to service main entrees 15 minutes after salad is served. The result is a table too crowded for comfort. Experienced wait staff should ignore house serving time frame rule and monitor the customer's eating progress. When visiting in a large group each check REQUIRES a 20% tip which we did not mind but even after a $35 tip our waitress BRITTA was complaining about giving back $5 in change. My family and I had dinner at Via tonight for first time. The restaurant atmosphere is great. They have both indoor & outdoor seating. Reservation are highly recommended, the place was packed. Both our waiter (Josh) & waitress (Sarah) were fabulous. My husband ordered a vodka martini & the first one was great. The second one was ok. I ordered a Prosecco. It came in a single serve bottle & Josh opened & poured it into a chilled flute at the table. I took a sip & it was warm. I asked for some ice & I was brought a new bottle & glass. Josh said they had a refrigeration problem & that's probably why. I feel like he should have felt the bottle wasn't cold since he was holding it when he brought it. For apps we ordered shrimp cocktail & fried calamari. The shrimp cocktail was good, the cocktail sauce was the key. The calamari was overcooked & the portion was smaller than I expected. Josh also asked if we wanted bread & then we had to remind him twice to bring it. Funny enough, we were sitting next to the kitchen & the bread was right next to us. Was also disappointed with the bread. It was four very plain slices with a small bottle of plain EVOO. We got salads with our entrees & the grilled caesar salad was amazing but not sure worth the extra $7. The garden salad was very fresh & included with dinner. My husband got some sort of steak with asparagus & bucatini bolognese. He really liked it. One of my girls got cheese ravioli, it was good but very average. The other one got grilled chicken with ziti & really enjoyed it. I ordered the lobster risotto & didn't like it at all. The lobster meat was overcooked & the risotto wasn't cooked right & very plain. It was supposed to have spinach & parmigiana but couldn't see spinach or taste the parm. I was very disappointed as this was a Mother's Day treat & I didn't enjoy it at all. We ordered coffee & dessert. The brownie sundae & chocolate torta we're both ready good. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because of the servers, otherwise it would be lower. Quite the disappointment! Special dinner date with friends on a busy Monday night led to an interesting experience. Service started in a good place, friendly and quick to greet us. The positive experiences ended there. The waitress was training a new guy who looked stoned out and had the dirtiest finger nails I've ever seen in a restaurant. He was pretty much following the waitress and kinda useless considering how busy the restaurant was that night. The bread was very good- short rib dinner as well. The food was average for the prices. The salmon was bland, as well as the meatball pizza. The filet was good! I would like to put 4 stars here as the service here was excellent, best service we have had in a while! Our server suggested a bottle of Wine and it was a great recommendation- a red Italian wine. We got to our table on a Saturday at 4 PM and very thankful that we did as by 6:30 when we were leaving the place was packed!!! The interior is very inviting, not too dark, trendy but in a casual conservative manner. This is a great place to meet a big party or sit at the charming bar. I just want to start off by saying the service here is exceptional!!! The servers are all so friendly and attentive. Because I look way younger than I actually am, servers usually tend to treat the youth in a less professional way but they treated me just the same as everyone else :) On a side from that, the calamari was my favorite appetizer. The batter was just right and not too overwhelming. Some places tend to put more batter than the actual squid but this was the other way around. The mussels in smoky tomato broth was pretty good. You could tell the "smokiness" was really in there so if you don't like burnt smells, this appetizer is not for you. The after taste kind of reminded me of beer. For pizza we got the roasted chicken & prosciutto pizza. The pizza was a very big portion I would say (way too much for only 2 people). The cookie butter crème brûlée was so good! 10/10 would recommend. We also got the 5 cone "michelangelato" sampler. Something to definitely try! read more

We enjoyed perfect weather while dining on VIA's patio. The highlights of our meal were the smoky bacon and Parmesan arancini we shared. These heavenly balls of deliciousness were hot and crispy on the outside, creamy and smoky on the inside, and had just the right amount of garlic aioli to compliment them---they were probably the best arancini we've ever tasted, and we gobbled up the five balls in no time flat. The braised beef short rib with gnocchi and the braised pork shank with polenta we chose for our entrees were sheer perfection---we wouldn't hesitate to order either again. However good the entrees and appetizer were, the house salads and complimentary bread slices we were served beforehand left us scratching our heads. The salads were very small but fresh tasting, and were devoid of any dressing at all (we requested house dressing on both). After taking a couple of bites we had to ask Scott, one of our servers, to bring us a side of the dressing so we could dress them ourselves. VIA's delicious artisanal bread (two meager slices) came with only a small cruet of olive oil for dipping, but I would have liked a butter option. We wished for more bread, but were not offered any, and we did not ask, anticipating the heftiness of our entrees to come. Being pretty full after making our ways through our entrees, but not wanting to miss out on VIA's gelato, we forced ourselves to share a 3-scoop sampler consisting of our choices of pistachio, Amerena cherry and salted caramel. While all three of our choices were really enjoyable, the star of the trio was the salted caramel, which was the most intensely flavored. We did, however, find the presentation of this dessert lacking (the scoops were placed in a cardboard container and served with plastic spoons). We felt this delicious frozen treat deserved something a little better. The only other problem that I noted was that many of the woven chairs around the tables on the patio were in disrepair, and broken webbing on the seat of my chair kept sticking me in the back of the knee, which was quite annoying. Service by Scott and Josh was impeccable---friendly and helpful, but not fake. VIA is definitely upscale Italian dining, with delicious food, excellent service, great ambience, but with upscale prices. The bill for the two of us was $97.00 before tip, but including one glass of wine and a bottle of San Pellegrino sparkling water. Unfortunately, we do not dine at VIA on a regular basis, and only enjoy a lunch or dinner here if we have gift cards. read more

I have more than 25 Yelp check-ins in the last few years at your restaurants. Via is my wife's favorite yet I opt for One Eleven for my usual birthday dinner. When in Worcester, and plan a business luncheon, I usually opt for Via, but after today, I am not sure this will be the case. I have had frustration before, but today took the cake, and ultimately the prize. I had a colleague confirm luncheon this morning, so I went to Reserve, which pained me as I live my professional life with Open Table reservations, to make a 1 pm reservation. My colleague arrived a few minutes after 1 and we ordered relatively promptly. We were given bread, and one of two salads came out, the second did five minutes later. My colleague was sitting waiting for mine to come with his food in front of him. Finally they came, and we ate them and finished our bread. At about 1:50, our waitress came up and asked if we were ready for coffee and dessert. I hit the roof, as you see, we still had not received our meals. I had also told her when our meals came out that I would order two meals to take home, but before our meals came out she came to take my order for take out. Finally, at a few minutes after 2 pm, our meals came out. My colleagues plate was burning hot, my bucatini bolognese was hot at the surface but warm down in the middle and had clearly been sitting under a heat source. I contained my fury, although barely, and we ate our meal and finished up, when again we were asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. I was burning up when the bill was delivered, and although they had removed two lunches we were still charged for salads and for drinks. This whole thing was a substantial embarrassment for me after recommending we go to Via as we had had a previously wonderful dinner at One Eleven. This isn't the first time for issues at Via. For the life of me I can't figure this one out. I can understand a delay. Someone clearly forgot our check, then forgot to make one of the two meals. But to have one of the team come up to us and ask us what we wanted for dessert when we hadn't had our meals as yet, is just appallingly unacceptable. This is going to be my first Reserve review and unfortunately it is going to be very bad. The manager should have taken care of this check in full, and I believe with the stupidity that occurred, we should have been offered dessert. I will leave it to you how to fix this, but your reputation is seriously damaged in the eyes of this frequent diner, and a free lunch ticket isn't going to fix my angst. I am furious. read more

Dining at Via has always been so conflicting for me. On the one hand, several of my favorite meal experiences have been at Via. On the other hand, 75% of the time the service has sucked and some of the dishes have always been a little off. And here we are again. We had reservations for 7:30 pm on a Saturday but got there half an hour early. I was surprised when it wasn't a problem - they even seated us on the patio (10 years ago my bestie and I would race to get a seat on the patio because the place was so crowded). The restaurant was not packed the entire time we were there, but you wouldn't know it by the speed of the service (or lack thereof). Took 15 minutes just to get water (nasty-ass Worcester tap water at that). Another 10 minutes to get our cocktails (both very nice) and order dinner. By the time the free bread turned up, it had been half an hour.. Surprisingly dinner's arrival was less of a delay. I was only halfway through my cocktail when my grilled Caesar salad arrived (absolutely delicious), but hadn't finished that when my entree turned up. Awkward! I'd ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc (nice, but warm) with my entree but that only appeared after I was halfway through. For entree I ordered Calabrian Seafood, and it was good but could possibly have been great with a bit more effort. The seafood was plentiful and nicely cooked, but the presentation made it look like a bowl of bland pasta. The broth sat at the bottom of the bowl without coating or coloring the pasta, while the chili oil globbed on the top. The dish really needed fresh parmesan to complete but of course I had to wait nearly 15 minutes for that to appear. My wife ordered the veal chop over mushroom risotto. The chop was absolutely perfect, with a fabulous gorgonzola butter on top. Delicious! But the risotto - an Italian staple - was a bland afterthought. Come on! Even I make a better risotto than that. For dessert we stuck with the crepe cake. It's been a Via star since they opened and it did not disappoint. But still, the impression I left with was all about the pokey service and the juxtaposition of great food and meh. Took me a while to put my finger on it, but finally realized there was something just nonchalant about our servers. They were clearly experienced, never rude, used all the right language, but in the end, just didn't care. And that is what I remember about service there. No heart. Via is still Via. And maybe that's why it just wasn't busy. Dining out costs too much to make meh an investible experience. read more

We came here for my birthday dinner. It was very busy for a Tuesday night and they sat us right next to the kitchen. We did asked to be moved outside because it was so busy and with COVID. Our waitress was great, she was training that night and I think some things got lost in translation as far as things that were never brought out or were forgot. Personally I'm not quite impressed with Via's food, I think there are so many Italian restaurants in the Worcester area that are so much better. However, they do have impeccable service! Tables normally always have partner servers so if you can't find one of them, you're more likely to be able to find the other. They also have complimentary valet parking which is also nice. I've gone here for a normal lunch outing as well as a restaurant week lunch outing. For restaurant week which is a steal for the price, I got the shrimp with orecchiette pasta, asparagus and peas. I wasn't really a fan of this particular dish, the white wine butter sauce they used was on the acidic side in combination with the feta cheese I didn't find pleasing. However the meatball was amazing and cannoli as well. I have to say for restaurant week you really can't beat the price for what you're getting read more

Spectacular service and phenomenal food. My first time in Worcester was marked by a trip to this amazing establishment. The fig and prosciutto pizette was a magnificent melding of flavors and from the taste I had of the lemon ricotta pancakes they could not have been fluffier, but weren't too sweet.
