We've ordered from Chicago Pizza Authority many times, including for several events, and overall we've been really happy. The food is consistently great -- the pizza, wings, and fries have all been solid every time. Delivery has always been within the promised time frame, which we really appreciate. The only ongoing frustration is the ordering process. They seem to have frequent phone issues, which makes placing an order more annoying than it should be. Once the order actually goes through, though, everything else is smooth. Despite that hiccup, the quality of the food keeps us coming back. We've been satisfied with every order. read more

Google maps led me a little astray bit the restaurant is ready enough to find in the center of the strip mall. Parking is really easy. Upon entering, It was a little strange that when I went in to get my order the person at the front did not make any effort to get up and assist me. In any case another person came over relatively quickly to assist. We got a few thin crust cheese pizza slices. I found it to be saltier then I preferred. My kids gave it a 'meh'. read more

Excellent Pizza! We ordered pizza tonight during bears game and they were extremely busy and a little backed up with orders. But that is to be expected when Bears play a big game. Pizza is pretty ok. The sauce did not have too much character but the sausage was savory and good. I tried the pizza at a swim party held at the Gold Fish swim school next door. Must have been a party package deal being neighbor business in the same strip mall. The pizza was warm, not hot (can't blame the pizza authority for that), but I did see that it was sitting there on the counter for probably a half hour before we started into the pizza. Perhaps the Gold Fish swim could coordinate pizza timing a little better next time. read more

Had a night of catching up and conversation with friends and one of the group suggested Chicago Pizza Authority for a couple of pizzas and salads. First off...good suggestion! Second...pizza had to be cut like a traditional NYC slice...and lastly, the salad couldn't have avocados or avocado oil, due to allergy issues, which they accommodated happily, as well as the slice preference--NYC traditional triangle. So, the order was in. One 14" pepperoni and a 16"custom veggie with sausage. The salad was the pasta-laden Chopped Salad (the Ditalini pasta was Al Dente perfect!) and Antipasto Salad which honestly had more meat and cheese than veggies! Since this was delivered via "Nor Nash", we expected it to be a bit soggy on the bottom of the modified veggie pizza, but it was not...it was perfect with a crispy undercarriage that supported lots of veggies, sauce, cheese and little blobs of sausage goodness. Excellent crust on both pizzas with the pepperoni being gobbled up by the little kids and a few straggler adults snatching pieces. Salads were both crisp and fresh, with the dressings on the side...perfect for the healthy diners. I do have to say the wait on a Sunday is about an hour and fifteen minutes for an order delivered. but if it's good, we can wait...wait for good pizza on the north shore...and until next time, keep pumping out those pies, NYC sliced or Chicago tavern-style. read more

I have never been a pizza snob, but after having Chicago PIzza Authority, I don't think that the place that starts with a "D" will cut it for me anymore. This pizza is excellent! The crust, sauce, toppings, all delicious and well applied. The cook on the pizzas were perfect. We are happy we ordered extra so we had leftovers. Been trying out different pizza places in the area and saw this place just opened (grand opening is tomorrow) and decided to give it a try. Ordered online for pickup. A thin with green peppers, onions & mushrooms. It was cooked perfectly. The crust isn't super thin or thick. Veggies were fresh and plentiful. The sauce was nice. Not too much of anything. I will start off by saying I eat a lot of pizza - when my dad wanted to order from this place close to his house, I hadn't heard of it before but I am always up for trying a new pizza place! We ordered an xtra large thin crust green pepper, onion, sausage and tomato pizza and I was surprised how delicious it was - super tasty, crispy crust, great amount of toppings and cheese and four of us polished the pizza off in no time. Tried CPA for the first time yesterday & was very pleased & impressed. I ordered the pizza a few hours in advance to be ready for 4:45 for the Super Bowl. I arrived on time & the pizza was recently boxed, ready to go & still piping hot. 2 pan pizzas, one the smaller size (10") and one the larger size (16"). The pan pizzas were thicker/deeper than expected - kind of like the depth of pequod's in the city. I'm excited to go back & try their deep dish. The smaller one was better for some reason? I don't know if the crusts are different or what.. the larger one had less sauce on it I think. I'm not holding that against them because it was a crazy busy day for them (Super Bowl sunday) and they had a long line of customers. My family is visiting Chicago, and we had said we would try an authentic Chicago deep dish while we're here. I was expecting to not enjoy it considering I normally like a thin crust, but holy cow this pizza is amazing. We also got free breadsticks thanks to a special they were having, and they are the most perfectly fluffy breadsticks. Plus, they gave us a huge amount of them! I had also ordered a thin crust pizza just in case, and it was also fantastic. Whether this pizza is a true, authentic Chicago deep dish is for someone else to decide since it's my first time. Deep dish pizza was a flop. It's technically not a Chicago deep dish. The breading was so thick we legimately thought it was cheese. Scrapped off the tomato sauce due to the seasoning so annoying when pizza joints think the dried out seasoning is gonna save their pizza and worked my way up the slice and to my dismay it was just breading then the cheese layer just faded out 2 inches away from the crust . So disappointed. And this took 20 extra minutes of bake time? Please do not call those a deep dish pizza especially in this area. read more

Great pizza. I ordered a deep dish veggie and it was amazing. I've ordered a few deep dish Chicago style pizza from different restaurants but a lot of them add too much sauce in the deep dish pizza. Wish I could say I loved this takeout/delivery pizza restaurant. My husband, a true pizza snob, and my son had a much higher opinion of it than I did (but they don't Yelp). My salad was rather uninspiring, but they do have creamy garlic dressing which is a plus. My husband's well done cheese only (boring!) pizza was to his liking. My son and I shared a pick 4 toppings vegetarian which other than being messy (lots of cheese and sauce) was not bad. The prices are fairly reasonable. There is a large parking lot. I'm so so upset. This was my new favorite pizza place and we always ordered through grub hub or Uber eats. Today, I ordered directly through the restaurant and boy did that backfire. We called at 5:30 to order a cheese pizza and bread sticks. I was told it would be 50-60 mins. After an hour and a half I called to inquire and was told it's out for delivery and it'll be 10 more mins and they offered a 20% discount. After another half hour I called again where they told me the order was unassigned, put me on hold for 5 mins and then told me the driver said it was delivered... I confirmed it was not. They said they'd get to the bottom of it and offered 50% off.. they called back to say the drivers been out for delivery and will be here in 4 minutes. It's now been over two hours, still no pizza, and all they offered was 50% off. I'm pretty dissatisfied with their customer service. Now I need to find a new favorite pizza place. Update: the pizza was delivered cold!!!!! Bummer read more
