From the moment you walk in, you can feel how different the energy is here. The staff are so genuinely kind and welcoming -- not fake-nice or robotic like some places -- but truly sweet, like they actually care about you as a person and not just as a "patient." I felt so comfortable the entire time, and that's saying a lot because, let's be honest, most people don't exactly look forward to dental visits. But here? It's different. They explain everything clearly, they're gentle, and they never make you feel rushed or judged. You can tell everyone there takes pride in their work -- they're not just trying to get through the day, they're trying to make your day better. I left feeling like I just had a really positive experience with a group of people who love what they do and care about doing it well. That kind of energy is rare. Every aspect of the customer service was warm and calm and cheerful. I also took my son, who is 9 and was worried about everything - he was treated kindly and respectfully. In the past, I've seen dentists that find all kind of issues that were conveniently covered by insurance. Or, they poke you in the gums with a sharp instrument and say - WHOA you're gums bleed, you need a special deep cleaning that your insurance will pay for! Huh. A sharp dental instrument made me bleed? What a racket. When either of those two things happen I'm not coming back to your office. Nothing of the sort happened to us. First, the x-rays at the dentist can sometimes be the hardest part! I really appreciated the dental assistant's way of handling my occasional issue - she just calmly moved on to the next area (which required a different bite), and then went back to the problem areas later. This definitely kept me from getting flustered and it was no problem when she went back. It had been a year (COVID) since we had been to the dentist. They could have told me anything and I might have believed it. But we both were cleaned up and polished by Dr. Phil. No cavities. No pressure to do anything unnecessary. Good advice about braces, too! Also, the cleaning was that little water pressure deal, no scraping. Thank the lort. Fast and pain free. Naturally, everything was very clean, everyone was masked and gowned and there was hand sanitizer everywhere, etc. It is a nice office in general. Cool that you get x-rays and treatment all in one room. We will be back and I will be recommending Lancaster Dental to others.

There's picture frames posted on the walls of completed puzzles which are beautiful that a staff member shared Dr. Lee completes with his family. Dr. Lee seems very down to earth, was thorough, took my x rays and digital pictures of my teeth so when he was explaining the horrendous tragedy going on with my teeth, he was able to show me with the x rays and pictures. It really made me understand what he was seeing, and reflects how thorough he is. You can tell he is knowledgeable AND he cares about your dental health. His tone of voice is very calming and fatherly so you can't help but feel at ease. When they were filling my cavities, I didn't feel the needle numbing my gums which was almost magical and I literally fell asleep while they were working on my teeth. Right away, the doctor wanted to replace my crown as well as do other costly procedures. I scheduled a follow up and started looking for a second opinion. However, I had decided that I was not going to have the work done and called to cancel my appointment. On the message, I specifically stated that I would call back to reschedule. However, within the hour I received a call to reschedule. I picked a day two weeks in the future and scheduled a second appointment. I didn't have time to check my schedule though and had to call back to reschedule again. I again left a message saying specifically that I would call back and schedule. This time their appointment person called my ex-wife to schedule a new appointment. I called back and cancelled any further appointments, advised them that due to their HIPAA violation that I would no longer be a patient and that they were not to discuss any aspect of my care with my ex-wife. Then they decide to text her for payment on my account. I filed a HIPAA violation complaint with the Dept of Health and Human Services.

After that, I waited in the dental chair until 5:00 PM before anyone started cleaning my teeth. The dentist didn't come in until about 30 minutes after the cleaning began. Spending over three hours at the office for a routine appointment is simply not acceptable. What made the experience even worse was the hygienist's attitude. After patiently waiting for two hours in the chair, I politely asked how much longer it would be before my cleaning started. Instead of receiving a courteous response, I was met with passive-aggressive behavior and an unprofessional attitude. As a patient, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for an update after such an excessive wait. Delays can happen, but communication and professionalism matter. A simple apology or regular updates would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this office showed neither. I left feeling like my time wasn't respected and that my concerns were dismissed. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this office based on my experience.
