Beef empanada.
Britt Z.

I've been here two times and both visits were ok. I liked the croquettes and empanadas, but they weren't very hot, they just needed to be warmed up a bit. The bakery case has a large selection of cakes and pastries that look very good. I want to try one of their Cuban sandwiches, as I heard they are delicious.

Yummy Cuban style goodies. It's always nice to get something sweet. 'Que sweet it is!'

Quality of food from this location of Vicky Bakery is always consistent and tasty. I ordered my pastries and croissants for pickup, they were still warm when I got them. The chocolate croissants are my favorite and their ham croquetas always hit the spot when I'm craving some bakery food for breakfast.

***SOFT OPEN ALERT*** Now open! Brand new, modern looking space with plenty of glass displays showing the incredible guava pastries and cakes. Full service coffee bar. Breakfast and sandwich menus. Several tables for indoor dining. Note that it's only opened softly, with the grand opening to come in a few weeks. This will give the staff some time to work out everything that's new. As such, some orders can take a bit more time to prepare. Hoping this becomes a regular spot for tasty Cuban food! Will be back for sure!

Stopped in on an impulse to check out the new menu which came along with the new owners and…read moremanagement. Let me start with the positive. Ordered a chicken breast sandwich, Cuban style. Made on the right bread, smashed down when placed on the grill, lettuce tomato and tasty sauce dripping out of the sandwich. It was a huge sandwich, great value and very tasty. Ordered a side of tostones which were coked to perfection. Served with garlicky sauce to dip the tostones. Again, perfect. Side of potato salad which came with the sandwich was tasteless. And I mean tasteless. Potatoes and mayonnaise. As to the environment of the restaurant, it's a drab, dark and unbelievably warm. Their AC must be changed/upgraded and the entire interior needs to be redesigned. It's the kind of place where you would not want to sit at a table. The waitress at the counter who took the order spoke no English but understood my order and questions. She was sweet and pleasant. Would I return? Yes. Would I sit down and eat there. Absolutely not. And there's a huge colorful rooster outside. I posted a picture. I'm not sure what the association is between a rooster and Cuban food. It's funny looking oh I forgot. They have some tables outside which is almost in the parking lot and right next to their large garbage unit. . Even if it wasn't 100 degrees and humid now i wouldn't sit and eat there.

I was in Boca and needed a pan cubano and called them on the telephone first as there was no Latin supermarket nearby and the ones sold at other supermarkets are not fresh authentic like I wanted. Whoever answered the telephone spoke zero English and got frustrated and hung up on me. I telephoned back and asked for someone who spoke English. Hello, this was Boca Raton not Hialeah where you expect that. When I did a search for "Cuban bakery" their name came up. The woman who came to the phone said yes, they had pastries. Ok great they have pastelitos but I needed a pan cubano. I arrive at this place to see not a bakery, no pastelito, no pan cubano, no croquetta, nothing. It's a sandwich joint apparently. At first, they thought I was ordering a tostada, and I told them no, a pan cubano. Ok, we can do that so they threw two pieces of bread in a plastic bag and charged me over $3.00 for it, way more than I am used to paying in Miami but ok it's convenient. I get home and open the bag ready to make my pan con bistec and find one of the pieces is moldy. Gross! I glanced at the menu while waiting and found that overpriced as well. I didn't bother to complain over a cheap piece of bread but would never go back. By the way, it was only me and one other person in there eating at the counter.

The waitress was absolutely helpful telling me all the drink choices. I decided on papaya juice. It was pretty watered down. Everything on the menu looked amazing so I started with a beef empanada while I continued to contemplate on my entree. The empanada was huge and delicious especially with the yummy garlic dipping sauce. The hot sauce was definitely hot! Finally I made a decision on the rabo encendido (oxtails) with a side of boniato (fried steamed sweet potato) and congris (Cuban black beans cooked with white rice). The servings were massive. The oxtails were seasoned to perfection and the hot sauce elevated the flavors. I enjoyed my lunch and had enough left over for dinner to share. I would absolutely come back here in ever in the area again.

I didn't love it, but the garlic mayo dipping sauce was good. The Ropa Vieja was very good, and the portion was quite generous. The shredded beef was slow simmered in a rich tomato sauce. I would order this again. The Carne Con Papas was also good. It's sorta like Ropa Vieja (same sauce), but the beef is served in chunks instead of shredded, and the potatoes were a nice addition. Just be aware it contains green olives, so keep that in mind if you're salt sensitive. My favorite part of my meal were the well done plantains, which were perfectly caramelized and sweet. The flan was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. The prices may be a bit higher than some other places, but the authentic Cuban flavors and generous portions make it money well spent. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

You order and pay at the counter, though there was a bit of a communication barrier while placing our order. We ordered three ham, egg, and cheese croissants along with three café con leches. The portions were very generous--honestly, it worked out in our favor that only two of the three sandwiches we asked for were put in. The food came out fresh and everything was delicious. We really enjoyed the overall experience. The indoor seating consists of all wood tables, so it's not the coziest setup, but that didn't bother me. They also have outdoor seating available if you prefer.

Love the signs in the hallway listing how many miles to Havana Cuba. The bathroom was clean continued the authentic Cuban decor including a potted Dracaena trifasciata or more commonly known as the Snake Plant. Lots of choices for breakfast including little sandwiches and pastry. For a mid day snack they actually offered ice cream, which is uncommon in a Cuban Cafe. The espresso and the ham & cheese sandwich were great. Took a seat on the wooden chairs on the little outside patio with my morning treats.
