Food is normally up to par, but this review is solely based on customer service after spending my entire lifetime coming here. Either fix your number system, or work on your communication skills. Walked in, saw Number 94 displayed on the screen. Only 2 patrons in front of me at the time, and ONE worker scrambling in the back, while several others huddled in a corner NOT acknowledging or greeting customers at all. Went for a number ticket, but it says "21." It seemed they were not using the number system at all, so instead of wasting a ticket, I stood behind the last customer instead. After all, with only 2 other people in front of me, and a 26 ticket number difference, just figured they were slow. Otherwise, their number screen would've been updated right? Long and behold 10 minutes pass and not a single worker says a thing, and behind me a line has formed. Some people have grabbed numbers, others have not, still confused by the screen. Finally, the worker comes out and nonchalantly yells out "18." Where? How? When? By this point, People have started to realize they are in fact using the numbers and scrambling back for a ticket. Before I could even say a thing, the tickets had already been snatched up to 29. So Even though i had in fact stood there longer, waited patiently, I was not about to intermingle with 9 other patrons who arrived behind me for an opportunity to be heard by these miserable looking bakery workers anyway, or wait another monstrous amount of time for what could be the worlds slowest bakery service. A simple paper over your broken number system, or a quick welcoming greeting with a sweet "grab a number anyways" from one of the mad workers when I walked in, would've sufficed and saved everyone from the misunderstandings. It was easier for me to walk out and grab from another bakery, then have to deal with nonsense. Shame not a single worker, supervisor, manager thought to keep numbers up to date on their screen with the tickets but clearly they were keeping track mentally. read more

Do not let the ratings fool you, this is the top Vicky Bakery location, when it comes to the food quality. I live in the neighborhood right behind this location and have been visiting this specific location for a good 2 years (and an extra 10 pounds to show for it). First off, if you are going on any day, at any time during the morning.. Expect to wait a little bit. There is a reason that this specific Vicky Bakery always has lines out the door. But they move it fast, 20 minutes TOPS and you are outta there with whatever deliciousness you came for. The ladies here are all super nice. Like everywhere, including every Vicky Bakery, you're gonna have your bad apples. The Cuban coffee is always great, the cafe con leche is always made exactly how you ordered albeit dark or light... The orange juice is freshly squeezed, which makes me question the validity of some bad reviews saying it is watered down. They also have options for Gatorade, water and Yoo-hoo. You can get your typical sandwiches here.. Ham and cheese, croqueta preparada, pan con lechon (it's great!), pan con tortilla and media noche. All are made fresh and quick, once your number is called. My favorite sandwich has to be the ham and cheese on a croissant. It has a glaze that they use on all their pastelitos, brushes on top and then I get it in the plancha, toasted real good. It is amazing! As for the pastelitos, there really are no comparisons in Miami. The pastelito de guayaba is ALWAYS fresh and no other Vicky Bakery tops it off with that glaze like they do here. The queso and carne pastelitos are awesome too. For a long while, I wouldn't go a day without picking up a pastelito de pizza. Others imitate, but can't replicate. The cheese here is just on another level. And their croquetas, the thick ham one! Just delicious. Even if they've been sitting longer than expected, they are just jumping with flavor in every bite. I never do reviews but I think everyone should be warned. It was absolutely horrible. I live close by and stopped for a tostada and cafe con leche. There were about 6 people in front of me and it took about 40 mins total to find parking and wait my turn in line. Then finally as it's my turn, it took about 15 mins to get my order COMPLETED. Love the service and the quality of their pastries is awesome! For as packed as this place gets in the mornings they handle the constant flow of customers very well and keep everybody happy. The prices are pretty cheap compared to other bakeries. I ordered 3 platters that brought 25 pastelitos each and they were only 6 bucks each! Have lived here in Miami Lakes for over 20 years now. This "used" to be a great bakery. For a few years now - it's not the same anymore. The pastelitos, especially the meat ones, have a nasty sweet filling and the bottom always falls off. All of the pastelitos seem to be either glazed with too much of some sweet sugar packed substance or they are super high and flakey. The croquetas are dense and heavy. Can't seem to get it right. Best bet is to go with the little ones on the trays as those are always made well. Not sure what caused the change but today was my last time ordering from here unfortunately. :-( read more

This is my go-to bakery and service is usually alright. During quarantine ordered a birthday cake to pick up (an infamous cake that Vicky's makes) and paid for it. When I showed up it wasn't at all what I ordered and they couldn't give me a refund because the manager was there? Anyway, if you're ordering over the phone DO NOT PAY. No doubt the food is good. This is not a review for bad food, but for terrible experience. The service is the worst. It seems the customers are the one working for them, or they are doing us a favor. It shouldn't matter what they are doing or what's going on being polite to the customer should be at the top of the list. This is my favorite cuban bakery! The croquetas (croquettes), both of ham and chicken, are delicious here. Other spots make soggy croquetas and hard pastelitos de carne- not here! All of their pastries are delicious. Great for picking up some pastries for the office or for yourself on the way to work as a quick breakfast. Only downside of this place is the wait -.- You'll be here a good 20+ minutes waiting at their busiest hours (usually mornings and weekends). I'd reccomend the croquetas of chicken, the seasoning that they mix with the filling is simple yet tasty. And, a pastelito de carne (meat-filled pastry) is great two, a perfect balance of sweet (because of the sweet glaze on top of the pastry), flaky, and salty (because of the meat inside). Great place to have pastel de guayana (sp?). Not a good place for any type of French pastry. Also do not order a cake from this place unless it is small and fits in one of the boxes they already carry. Why? Well they don't box up the cake. Their reason is because their patrons do not know how to carry a cake properly so they don't box it. They also don't purchase large boxes so again if you'd like your specialty cake protected be prepared to bring your own box. Also, the cake was ordered for 1pm but was not ready until after 2pm. At the rate Vicky Bakery is going, I think they remain in business just based on nostalgia when they used to be good. The cake I got was dry and tasteless. Who knows how long it was sitting in the display case. If you're looking for a cake and don't want the celebration ruined, look elsewhere. Also, the service left a lot to be desired. This is my local bakery and I love it! I have never gone wrong with ordering pastries from here. I love the croquettas and the pastelitos de carne. For any party or work event I usually take the party platters from Vicky bakery. It is delicious and economical to get the trays of 25 croqueticas or bocaditos. I also buy la pasta de bocadito to make my own pan con pasta or to eat with galletas cubana. This has been a hit for all outings in the boat, beach, and even tailgates. 3 different drivers went to pick up my food and they all left as they were wtg a long time. There was a 4th driver and that is the one that brought me my food. This is unacceptable. Sometimes I choose restaurants for their order times and this was the case. They should not put a wait time that is not correct. I tried calling the restaurant more than 7 times and it seems like the phone was off the hook. I got ready to go to the restaurant myself and as I walked out the door I got the notification that it was finally picked up. In this case Uber did well finding 4 different drivers to try and pick up my food but this restaurant did nothing to amend their wrong doing and there is no excuse as other restaurants put true wait times. They should be more professional. I will definitely switch to another Vicky Bakery next time. I took my family there a few weeks ago for a little snack to hit the spot. The only place it went was in the garbage. First and foremost, the service is ridiculous. There were 2 ladies handling the front, neither spoke english and I could tell by the appearance they have only lived here a few years if even. You know you can tell the kind, stop kidding yourself. Well apparently, once of them is trying to go back to Cuba to visit her family, but either money or work is keeping her from doing so. How do I know this? Because I patiently waited a couple of minutes, in an empty bakery, for her to finish her story. I ordered a Pizza Pastel, my favorite almost anywhere, and it was nearly empty. We also got a couple of ham croquettas and they were almost neon pink inside. NEON! The place inside is not well kept and those damn dusty atrocious cakes they have in the front really bother me. I needed a specialty cake for a birthday party planned days after Hurricane Irma. Vicky Bakery was ready and prepared to produce, when all the other usual cake bakeries would not. I tried them as a last resort because I was unaware that they produced specialty cakes. Now that I know, I'll choose them in the future for my bakery needs. Ugh this place is so inefficient. The way they run their numbers is just horrible. Every time I go here I end up waiting for 30min then having to leave because it is just so long. On top of everything they are ridiculously inefficient. It does not take two people to help one person order their coffee and toast. The worse part is, while there is a huge line there are employees literally standing around doing nothing. Super rude employees. Just an overall horrible experience. Apparently based off the reviews this is not the place you go to for cakes lol, I've never liked their cakes either but clearly their specialty are the pastelitos. Hands down its the best in town. The earlier you go the better and fresher! My favorites are the cheese pastelitos, ham and cheese croissant and some coffee usually some colada! Their orange juice is freshly made and good too!
