Food was alright, they didn't have everything bagels which lowkey annoyed me but it's fine, the plain bagel was nothing exceptional. The sandwiches looked pretty good, my dad seems to come here a lot for them. The thai tea was very very good, definitely my favorite part. The donuts looked cute but I didn't get to try them, there was also a bee inside the display..... maybe to add some honey, we'll never know. The service was whatever she seemed nice. Stopped here for a quick breakfast. Got a strawberry banana smoothie, an egg sausage and cheese bagel, and a glazed twist. Total was like $14. The establishment is very clean and the lady at the register was very pleasant. They also sell individual eggs, interesting. They didn't advertise that the sandwich was going to come with mayo seed sauce so imagine my surprise when I opened it and it had mayo. Immediately, no. Drove back to return it. The owner went from pleasant to a bit agitated. She kept reiterating sandwiches ALWAYS come with mayo, sandwiches ALWAYS come with mayo, everywhere you go. I had to let her know, several places very breakfast sandwiches with no mayo. Several donuts as well. She said next time ask, true, but also advertise for those with food allergies. This donut shop has super fresh donuts at an affordable price. We came here in the morning before exploring other food for the day. They have many donut options that are all solid, unique, but not over the top. I got an old fashioned donut, a cinnamon roll, and a mango filled donut. The old fashioned was glazed and had a nice bite on the outside while being soft in the inside. Good balance of sweetness to not be overwhelming. The cinnamon roll was so good. No icing, which allowed for it to be not that sweet and letting the cinnamon flavor take over. The middle of the cinnamon roll was the best as it was so soft. The mango filled donut was so surprisingly good. It's a mango jelly, and it had a good tartness. This contrasts nicely with the sweet and fluffy outer donut. The staff working there are so nice and friendly as well, which makes this an amazing spot to come to! They also have a variety of interesting drinks, but we didn't try any of these. read more

It's possible the woman was having a bad day - when I greeted her and asked which donut was the local favorite she sighed and mumbled a few words that weren't helpful. The mood didn't faze me, I carried on with my goal: select, point and fill the pink box. Typical donut options behind a glass case makes it easy to make choices but nothing really made me want to visit again. The shop is on a corner with a strip mall so it's easy in and out but the parking was packed, some cars waiting for spaces. These are the best donuts! Don't let the location for you. They make original plump donuts that I remembered as a child when donuts were just better at times. I think other donut shops try to impress people with fancy things, but sometimes you just want a good doughnut and in a variety of flavors. Vicky's has the best donuts in the South Bay! The doubts taste like soft pillows that melt in your mouth. The glaze is not over done and the chocolate ice isn't too sweet. The staff is friendly. They do accept debit/credit, which is a plus in 2024. The parking lot can be hectic depending on the time of day. THIS IS ONLY A REVIEW ON THE HAM AND CHEESE CROISSANT!!!! I have been traveling far and wide in the city of Hawthorne and haven't been able to find a great ham and cheese croissant. Didn't like that there was only one slice of ham. I mean that is a lot of bread for just one ham. There was barely any cheese inside. Not sure if you ham & cheese croissant lovers enjoy the cheese dripping out of the croissant when you take a bite but I do and this wasn't it. Felt like it was just a slice of ham inside the croissant. Jalapeños came on the side, wasn't against it but would prefer them to have the option of a jalapeño ham and cheese. We love donuts but tend to cringe from airy , too muchh sugar, too much icing sugar filled/dipped donuts. Vicky donuts is not one of them. it's one OF THE BEST donuts I ever had. Not too sweet , sugar to dough proportion to taste is perfect!!. we even took a piece of the dough without the outer icing/topping.... the dough was soft and taste like one of those Japanese breads/pastry. the icing sugar frosting chocolate is not too sweet but you could taste the chocolate. my wife is a French pastry aficionado, and she loved the way the donuts are made. price is very affordable. Love this place! This place has been in business since the mid-1980s (first on Rosecrans, then moved to this current location on Prairie). The doughnuts are amazing and the prices are good. People talk about Krispy Kreme's doughnuts like they're so good but they're only that way if you get this right off the conveyor belt, but the moment they cool, they taste like any other mediocre doughnut found anywhere. At Vicky's, the doughnuts are light and airy (at least the regular ones, not so much the dense buttermilks or old-fashions). They stay that way and taste fresh all day. Every doughnut is baked fresh early that morning and anything that isn't sold is tossed out, no exceptions. They don't keep or sell day-old doughnuts to ensure that each is topnotch and great tasting. Tax is included in whatever price you're quoted. They also sell that beloved Farmer Brothers coffee. If you're a coffee snob, then it probably wouldn't be good enough for you. But for the normal coffee-lover, this stuff is wonderful. I enjoy the Farmer Bros. cappuccino and hot chocolates that they serve. They also sell iced blended drinks, which are way better than Starbucks frappuccino- they taste better and the consistency is smooth also (unlike Starbucks, where it's chunky and you get ice bits in your drink). It's a bit of a travel from where I live but anytime I'm in the area (like dropping someone off at LAX), you can be sure I make a stop here and get those doughnuts and hot drinks! read more

Apple fritter was top notch and had tons of apple bits throughout. I also had a strawberry frosted raised donut and crumb donut and they were also SO delicious! This is the BOMB donut shop. Their donuts are just right. The donuts are light even the cake donuts. One day, the lady gave me a free donut and it was a glazed blueberry. My absolute favorite. I would have never bought one because I just didn't think a blueberry donut would be good. It wasn't just good, it was great. Another good one is the glazed honey wheat although the blueberry tops it. Those melt in your mouth. I don't go anywhere else now. Also, I never see any of those gnats flying around in the case like other donut spots. For those who don't like donuts, they have croissants and some kind of breakfast sandwich that I never get, but I hear people ask for it. Definitely a must try read more
