Look. Money is tight...damn near for everyone. In the middle of the heatwave, my air conditioner went out. It's not like I had a choice to get it fixed, with temperatures in the 100's. I did my due-diligence, got a couple of quotes, then Vic Jr. blew them all away...by more than half. I live mid-city, so his place was a trek for me, but are you willing to use a couple extra gallons of gas to save HUNDREDS of dollars? I went to the dealer and of course, the price to get work done was obnoxious. I sent out a request for quotes through Yelp. Vic's was the first to respond and right away with a price based on the information given. He was also open to take me the same day. Honestly, I don't understand how this man's shop is not overrun with customers. His price was a THIRD of the dealers cost and at least half the price of any other quotes I received. He also had the opportunity to charge me for unnecessary work that the dealer suggested. However, he was incredibly transparent and said it would be a waste. And Mr. Z, the mechanic was an absolute gem and incredibly fast. If you need work done on your car, get in here before Vic gets wind of the fact that he's the best! read more

Wow! That's all I can say. I was hearing a noise and smelling oil from my car and needed to get it in to have someone look at it. Now let me preface that I normally visit another local mechanic but I wanted to try someone new and I am really glad that I did. I messaged VAC Saturday morning and they told me to drop by at 9am which I did. I met Z who was fantastic! He was thorough to a tee and what I thought was the issue (I need to stop Googling!), wasn't the issue at all. He told me what the cost would be and was very clear on what he would be doing. I also asked him to check my headlights and when I picked my car up, no only did I have new fuses, but they cleaned my lights for me - talk about a difference! Also, they closed at 1pm but Z stated he would stay and the job done for me which I greatly appreciated. I picked up my car at 330pm and I am a happy girl. Definitely recommend their services and wish I could give more than 5 stars. Before you even bother to go anywhere else you need to seriously call and visit Vic's Auto Clinic FIRST! I had a air conditioning issue where only my driver's side vents were working and the passenger side was not. After looking around yelp and finding out that most shops charged a mandatory 100-150 diagnostic fee which seems to be the standard for their time, Vic's was the only one to offer me a free diagnostic and when I arrived they couldn't of been friendlier and they spent an hour figuring out what was the issue. They were able to figure out it was a simple error that didn't involve any costly repair and called me back to pick up the car with no charge! They were also able to give me an estimate on a separate issue that I asked them to look into that I will return to have them fix as their prices are unbeatable. Now obviously everyone is always searching for an honest mechanic, and there's always ways a shop can either overcharge at the least, or at the worst, you know the deal. This shop's honesty and integrity should be praised and I expect to see a whole lot more 5 star reviews to come and will come here for anything automotive repair related as they seem to be able to do a wide diversity of repairs so again, come here first before you even bother to go anywhere else! It's small businesses like these that make yelp so valuable and allow customers to find these type of gems that I wouldn't of otherwise stumbled upon, and now I know where I can finally go to get honest work done without any BS! read more

I contacted Vic's though the request a quote option on Yelp because my Jeep is having a death wobble and my regular mechanic told me to take it to someone who is experienced with Jeeps since he isn't. Vic said he is experienced with Jeeps so I took her in on Th, 9/1. He told me what he found that nothing was loose, but I need larger wheel spacers and stud nuts to extend the caps (if I remember correctly). I also mentioned I needed new brakes which he agreed, and he said also new rotors. So, while I walked to get a pedicure, he did my brakes and rotors. He explained everything and left it up to me to decide what to do, never pushing me to do anything that I wasn't comfortable with. Highly recommend this place. It is hard to find a good honest mechanic or a good honest person these days. read more

A took my car here a couple weeks ago to have them check my car to see if it will be able to survive the drive to NorCal. They took me in immediately even though I didn't have an appointment and was planning to leave that day or the next. They found some parts that needed to be replaced but I couldn't afford to replace all of them. They were willing to work with me by calling around for the parts and find the cheapest price. While I was waiting, one of the mechanics, Z, was really nice and showed me the parts and how it worked. I appreciated him showing me this. He also told me what major parts needed changing to help me save a little money. When Allen (I think that was his name) was done with his calls, he let me know what was the cheapest. I decided to go with Z's advice and waited at a Starbucks close by. After a while, I came to pick up my car and drove it the next day to NorCal. I can definitely tell the difference! Everyone there were really nice and very helpful. I felt bad for showing up without an appointment and they had to fix other cars but I greatly appreciated them for taking the time to take me in that day, educate me on the parts and helped me find the cheapest deal for me! read more

I highly recommend Vic's! I took my car because a check engine light illuminated on my car. He performed a diagnosis and determined that nothing was wrong with the car. I found this place while requesting quotes for brakes and after driving through a winter storm the next day my engine light and tire traction light came on - so I wanted to get that checked also. They are one of the firsts to reach out and have a quick response time. They offer to check it out for free and I scheduled with them for the next day. The office is very small and kind of off to the side and set back right next to another mechanic company. I was confused and went to the wrong company but they directed me to the right place. I worked with Zee who was very pleasant. The previous place I went to said I needed front and back brakes and rotors but the front were at 50-60%. Zee let me know the back brakes were at a low percentage andI needed rotors but the front brakes were good and I still had quite a bit of time to keep those. Honesty!! I'm a woman, and going to places like this alone I get paranoid thinking someone will lie to me just to take advantage; but, that was a big eye opener that these guys weren't out to try to basically lie to me and steal from me. He also let me know nothing was wrong with my engine and he could easily fix the tire traction light and sometimes the tire traction will cause the engine light to come on out of confusion and he would just take care of it. He also let me visually see the difference between my back and front brakes. Another guy, I'm upset I can't remember his name, drove me down the street to Wells Fargo to get cash because they charge a little more than 3% to use the card machine. It wasn't much but this year I said I would be smarter about money. He was great! Really nice guy which made the very short car ride not awkward at all. The owner gave his contact information when I was done if I ever needed anything else or if I have another car to check out (which I have one coming in from Texas-so I'll be back). It was like a 30 minute drive from me but worth it. I highly recommend. And Zee is just too great. read more

We have our honda pilot 2016 and has problem with AC compressor dealer is charging us 2,000$ plus to have it repair but with them only $700 plus onlywhat a big savings right? One of the few mechanics in the area that are generally willing to work with customers on pricing and parts. They were even willing to install pre-purchased parts to help us save on our final cost. im leaving another review because since my last review a year ago i have brought all my cars to Vics, my mitsubishi montero, my nissan sentra SERs (all 3 of them) and my newly acquired volvo s60R. Al and Vic Jr are great guys, ive literally spent dozens of hours hanging out with them, they love cars, are knowledgable, have a good mechanic, and are honest and fair, most places know their stuff, but hope YOU DONT know so they can rip you off. Ever since I took my car form an oil change my check engine light turned on on my BMW and now they are having to replace parts (under warranty--I have extended warranty on my car) because apparently they are incompetent of doing a simple oil change!! Needed new front break pads so I submitted a 'Yelp Quote Request'. Of the 5 repair shops who responded, Vic's Auto Clinic was the most responsive and timely. The shop offered to have the work done same day. In total the work took about an hour (yes there is no seating area for customers waiting), but the fast service, customer focus and attention to customer concern, overrides this gap. I even came back later the same day to install an air cabin filter (which most folks never remember to change) and that service took less than 15 minutes.
