Loved it! Food was great. The employees were quick to give us anything we needed. Cozy little spot with outdoor seating as well. Would go back.

Wow, how did I never hear of Now On 9 Thai Bistro? I've driven by it so many times on Riverside Drive, but clearly never opened my eyes and looked in their direction. In search of a quality thai restaurant's chicken pad thai for a New Years Eve gathering, I called in an order. Their line was busy, but I'm glad I called again. Service was amazing to say the least, with direct communication to ensure that they could complete the order within 20 minutes - thankfully I had 45 minutes. They do keep a credit card on file for in-person payment, as is standard; I ordered a large pad thai tray, and despite working alone, the staff member offered to carry it for me to my car. Now for the interior, it is on the darker end, featuring shades of dark brown. Though I didn't dine in, I know I'll be back after trying their delicious chicken pad thai. Unlike normal pad thai, the ones served here dished out a mean wok air, as Cantonese people call it. Unlike normal pad thai, the one here was also more balanced in flavor, not overly sweet, and pleasantly tangy and savory. Despite costs, they provided a generous portion of egg and chicken. And without even asking, they even provided lemon and crushed peanuts on the side. A+ service, A+ food, will be back!

I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it fell short. I ordered the tofu cashew nut dish, and while it wasn't horrible, it wasn't great either. The dish lacked flavor, the vegetables seemed undercooked, and the cashews tasted almost raw. My side of white rice was stale--not the fresh, fluffy kind you'd expect. On top of that, none of the food arrived hot, which was a big letdown. Everything was already lukewarm. There are too many great Thai restaurants in Los Angeles for me to consider coming back here. Comparing it to another Thai spot I visited two weeks ago, the difference in flavor and food was apparent. As for the ambiance, there's outdoor and indoor seating, and they had nice Christmas decorations, which I appreciated. However, a big pile of takeout boxes and bags stacked on a table in the middle of the dining area was an eyesore and distracted from the decor.

All good on this first try here ! Order arrived early and food was tasty ! Portion size was great as well - only drawback : no soy sauce or chili sauce which is normally standard.

This is a great spot to satisfy the Thai food craving. For starters, you need to try their Roti Bread with Yellow Curry Sauce which is Asian pita bread slightly pan grilled served with yellow curry sauce. Great flavor and starter to your meal. Their Bangkok Fried Fish which is Golden Fried hand-battered fish are stir-fried with garlic, onion, scallion, and dried chili has a crunch and freshness that will have your taste buds flowing with joy. The coconut soup which is Mushroom in coconut broth is delicious. They have a variety of other great options for you to try and enjoy. The staff is friendly and always helpful if you have any questions or would like and menu suggestions. Parking is in their lot or adjacent street if you are unable to find parking.

We made a new run for thai. This time it was Now on 9, which is in a tiny strip on Riverside. Parking in the back. Onto the dishes 1. Tower Tofu Crunch- my friend loved it. Me? Fair. The design amazing. It has Tamirand with crushed peanuts and Tofu. The Tofu was firm but it needed to be soaked in the sauce and it wasnt. Thus it was not a win in my book. Yes you can slather it in the sauce, but it just didnt soak it up. 2. Coconut Soup - if you like sweet soups you will br in heaven. My friend got it and LOVED it. He went with chicken as the protein. The soup also had mushrooms and bay leaf. I tried the soup, it was well, Im not a fan of sweet soup. 3. Pad See Ew - WInner. It is not spicy, so the flavor profile includes sweet black soy sauce. Okay that is the sauce. Comes with broccoli and egg. I went shrimp. Good size for the dish. Its a large portion, so leftovers are essential. 4. My friend slso went with some sausage dish which is in the appetizers. Im flexitarian so im a big no on pork. He loved it. It comes with some bean thing and a salad. And yes, it looks like something you are probably thinking of. Again, he really liked it. Service is great. The ice tea had a nice flavor to it, it was almost spice with a bit of citrus. Excellent. With tax the pp was 65. A strong winner. Oh the chopsticks are not those crummy ones in paper. I give this place 4.5

I wish they stayed the same!!! I had noticed that they were closed for a bit then saw it was open recently so I had to visit. I guess they switched the setup where you pay first and then they bring out your food in plastic plates. I do have to say I really disliked that because the food is super hot and in plastic didn't feel comfortable eating it. Everything is already in to go packaging doesn't make you feel like you should sit down and eat there anymore. I used to love the authentic silverware they had. Can't say I will be coming back anytime soon.

Now On 9 has a good vibe. The service is very friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. I ordered a lot of food with the intent of tasting it all, and then bringing the rest home. I started off with the Steam Chicken Dumplings, which were tasty The Curry Noodle Soup was delicious and the flavor of the broth is spot on. This is a fantastic dish. The Pepper Garlic with Beef is loaded with great flavors and the broccoli was perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed the Shrimp Fried Rice. Everything tasted great. They also had some good music playing and it wasn't too loud. I had a delicious meal at the 9 and I will definitely be back!

4.5 over all. Pass this place all the time but never stopped by til now! Chose this place since it's open till midnight. The pad see ew was good. Not too salty but enough sauce. The mango sticky rice was delicious as well. They have outdoor/indoor seating and plenty of parking. Server was nice once we to her attention but was hard to get her attention since we sat outside

I finally made it, and well, no surprise, I am a fan. Parking Located on the corner of Magnolia and Whitsett Ave. There is plenty of street parking. But if your feeling a bit bold, there is a closed Rite Aid across the street that has a bunch of parking. Ambiance: For starters, this there is something about the decor, very classy yet casual somewhere you can have a quiet lunch and enjoy the day. I felt at home here and at ease. The staff were great on checking up on me every now and then and made sure I was well taken of. Food: There is a lot to talk about here. The name, for all accounts did not scream Thai Food, yet, I haven't had better Thai food and the area. I stopped in for lunch and they had a such a good Lunch selection and affordable ($20) that also includes a drink. I ordered the BBQ (due to macro restrictions) paired with a small salad and rice. Level with me, BBQ chicken is something I order really to test the waters and I can honestly say, one of the better BBQ chickens I have had. Though this review doesn't do Rustic Spoon much justice, I would highly recommend swinging by. I will, I would love to try some more traditional flavors such as the different curries and soups. Looking forward to the follow up!

If you're someone who enjoys traditional, high-quality nigiri and sashimi, this probably won't be your go-to spot. Shiki is all about comfort sushi: big rolls loaded with imitation crab, creamy sauces, baked toppings, and bold flavors. It's rich, indulgent, and definitely on the heavier side. That said, when you're absolutely starving and just want something satisfying that hits the spot, Shiki delivers. The menu is huge with endless options, portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. Every time I've come here I've ended up ordering specialty rolls instead of actual sushi because that's really what this restaurant excels at. I also have to admit... baked rolls are one of my guilty pleasures. A lot of higher-end sushi restaurants don't even serve them because they're more of a comfort dish than traditional sushi, so Shiki scratches that itch perfectly. The service was exceptional--friendly, attentive, and quick, which always makes the experience better. Will I be back? Probably not anytime soon, simply because I usually crave a more traditional sushi experience. But compared to other restaurants in this style and price range, Shiki does an excellent job. If you're looking for filling, flavorful specialty rolls with great value, this is an easy 5-star spot.

My son didn't make a reservation because it was a Wednesday night and he didn't think it would be crowded. But with 5 adults and a baby carriage, we had to wait for the right table because the somewhat small restaurant was full. We soon got a good spot and ordered the shrimp ceviche and the pan fried dumplings for appetizers. The ceviche was served on a bed of crispy noodles and it was refreshing and satisfying. The dumplings were crispy, not greasy, and flavorful. For dinner, we got 2 orders of japchae and 3 orders of bibimbap. With 2 Korean-born children and having visited the country, those are among our family's favorite dishes. And they did not disappoint. The japchae noodles were just right. They were not too firm and not too soft and well-seasoned. With a mixture of veggies, meat, mushrooms, eggs, and that delectable sauce, the bibimbap tickled and satiated the tastebuds. I told the server there was a birthday at the table and she brought out an excellent creme brulee with a candle in it. My husband and I didn't pay the bill. But the prices were reasonable with most of the entrees costing less than $20 each. We have four more days in town and may very well make another visit to indulge in that scrumptious food.

I thought it was too sweet for me and it didn't taste like most Pad Thais I've had or come to expect, but it was still okay. Veggie Rolls - This is pretty much salad/lettuce in a spring roll, and the peanut sauce is what makes it delicious. Not very large or filling, but good if you want some side greens. If you have a peanut allergy, skip these because they're kinda boring without the sauce. Panang Curry with Filet Mignon and added Japanese Pumpkin - This was a good dish! The steak was cooked a little too well for my liking, but it was generous in portion and the sauce was really flavorful. I was glad I added the pumpkin. Filet Mignon Pho - Not my favorite pho ever, but I liked that they offered Thai and Vietnamese options. When I ordered online, I didn't see in the description that it included bean sprouts or basil and that I had to order them for $2 each. I like my pho with every dang thing, so I spent the extra $4. The items did already come with the pho, plus I got an extra bag that I didn't really need to order. The steak was thinly sliced and tender, I just wish there was more of it. Salmon Rolls - These are pretty heavy, the fresh salmon is fried on the outside and rare on the inside. They come with a few dipping sauces, including a spicy mustard that I liked. Thai Tea Caramel Creme - This is honestly the reason I order from here. I am a damn fiend for Thai Tea-flavored desserts, and I crave this one all the time. It has a rich, velvety texture and a strong Thai tea flavor. I have thought of stopping by just to order this, and I probably will. Our orders have always been ready on time, although I can't speak for any dining-in experience, and I think it's a little pricier than other Thai restaurants. The website is just a little wonky... I like that everything is customizable in just about every way, and there are pictures of most items, but the pho order wasn't clear about what it would come with, and some of the upcharges are higher than they should be. However, I will come back for that Thai tea dessert because I've fallen in love.
