Swung by today just to window shop and get a feel for what was out there. Was greeted by Johnny and he helped walk me through the entire board selection and helped me pick out a board that was within my price range in my experience level. I recently picked up three skim boards from the shop. The shop is located In Laguna Beach. The owner is really cool and he hooked me up with some free wax after my purchase. They offer curbside pick up right now with the whole COVID-19 going on. I ordered online and called ahead. However they do offer free shipping I was just being impatient and wanted to pick up my boards that day. My husband and I decided to try skimboarding this past spring. He did a research and learned that Victoria's board is the best on the market, so we paid a visit to this store on 3/19/2016. Gibb (his real name is Kyle, but it's a long story...lol) helped my husband on the phone the day before we went there. He was very helpful over the phone. When we met him in person, he was nothing but an absolute delight! Very friendly, attentive, honest, and hardworking. My husband and I are completely beginners, and Gibb answered to all our questions and helped us out. He showed us one used board which was used by their contracted professional and still great condition. We got it for $200 which was a great deal. (Honestly the board was too good for us, but it was a too good deal to pass!) Gibb even offered us to take off the old wax which was uneven because of the previous uses and put new for us. When we asked him how much the service would be, he adorably said, "FREE ninety-nine!" (like $3.99 but it was free) Yes. He is too cute. lol After we purchased the board & cover, we asked him if there was a good place to eat in that area. He told us about a Mexican place that served awesome tacos but didn't remember the name, so he called up his girlfriend to find out the name for us. Anyway, Gibb absolutely made our shopping experience so pleasant. We gave him a $10 tip because we really appreciated everything he did for us and his servicemanship. He seemed surprised, like he never expected to receive a tip. :) And they do make great skimboards (their cool factory is right next to the store). Skim boarding was invented in Laguna Beach and Victoria is one of the top skim boarding companies in the world, so it only seems logical to buy Victoria. Not to mention that this is a local business, local manufacturer and an environmental responsible company. Ordering online is easy enough but there are some closeout and outlet deals on site. The other advantage of buying in person is that the staff can help you navigate the right skim board for your size and skill. Other shops might be able to help you navigate a generic spread of boarding acativities but this is all Victoria does. Additionally how awesome would it be to buy a skimboard, where it was made, and then go skim boarding at Aliso Beach a few miles down PCH where it was invented? read more

I can't but rave about this shop ! I had a custom board made for someone special to me and boy was it awesome!! It was a surprise to be given as a birthday gift . I wanted the person to be in complete awe and he was !! I had called to order online but decided to make the trip all the way to Laguna and boy was it worth it . I walked in and the same girl who I had spoken to on the phone was there , Diana. To my surprise the lovely lady who helped me knew so much about skimboarding as she herself is a team rider for Victoria. My order was placed and I even got a call from the owner making sure the design was correct and so was the custom writing on the back . I called so many times to make sure the board was okay and moving along , these guys are just great . Every question I had they answered . I took forever to pick out the design and Diana gladly helped me . She was just fantastic!! Thank you so much to the guys at the shop who helped shape the board , for answering all my questions and picking up the phone every time I called , and to the owner for making sure I was getting exactly what I wanted ! They went above and beyond. Thank you so much for the Ryan board!! And thank you Diana , getting the pure carbon fiberglass was a great option. The board was so light . The store was closed, but Tex went out of his way to come back and open so we could buy a much desired Christmas gift for our son! Tex was a pleasure to spend time with. Heading to Laguna with the urge to do all things Lagua, skimboarding was first on my list. I find Victoria on-line under skimboard rentals and salea. Being a virgin skimboarder, I have no idea what to expect. I arrive to Victoria for my first skimboard rental. I was approached by Trigg, a very helpful, hospitable and informative associate. With an array of skimboard selections, he suggested a certain type of skimboard according to my height and weight. I made him aware that I was a beginner. Right then and there I was enrolled in Skimboarding 101 while Trigg expands on the Do's and Don'ts of skimboarding. After a 10 minute session, i felt as if I were ready to hit the shore. Trigg then supplies me with a map of all the shores to hit from beginner to pro. All for $10 for a whole day rental and an additional $5 insurance, free stickers, with a freshly waxed poly skimboard in hand and all the neccesary knowledge.. I'm lookin' like a badass! I come back the next day to drop off the board along with my freshly sprained wrist! At least I have the sticker to pose as a pro! Rent or buy from Victoria.. a trustworthy product! read more
