Came for our anniversary dinner. We used opentable to make the reservation and indicated such. We came from 50 mins away and hit traffic from an accident and called to tell them we would be late as a result and they took my name. Upon showing up about 15 mins late they could not find our reservation and after looking at my email I noticed they actually canceled my reservation upon me calling them. They did find a manger and sat us without issue. Food was hit or miss. Entrees where great had the crispy chicken. Bolognese has a heavy flavor of nutmeg and not much of a "sauce" to it. My husband enjoyed the flavor of the meat overall, but not my preferred bolognese. Meatball appetizer is tiny meatballs on two skewers which I thought would be good since they were smaller and would be more tender, however, they were burnt. Looking at other tables I would get the calamari as an app. Cesar salad was a bit underwhelming...bit watery and I would skip it. Cocktails and service were good. We never had anything special recognized for our anniversary not sure if the is normal or not, but if that is something you want opentable is not the way to do it. read more

This restaurant has really declined over the last year. My husband and I used to come here multiple times a year, including my husband's birthday for the past 3 or 4 years. Tonight's dining experience was absolutely terrible. I was with a large group and half of us had issues with at least one thing. One person was given a dirty fork and when he asked for a new one, the server looked at him like he was insane. Another person asked for additional sauce for her entree and was told "you ordered bolognese not marinara." When we spoke with the manager about the issues with our server the first time, he was rather pleasant, but when I complained about my creme brûlée, he took on a "holier than thou" attitude. He told me that he went back to the kitchen and tasted the creme brûlée and it was exactly to their liking. He then proceeded to question us on what other restaurants we frequent and scoffed at all of the places we had been. The final straw came when the server brought our checks and included 20% gratuity. When I asked the manager to remove it, he told us not to worry about tipping her and that he would "take care of it." Needless to say, we will spend our money at other restaurants in the area. read more

I went to Victor's tonight with a group of friends. We go out ever week to many different restaurants. I was very unhappy with tonight's experience. We had terrible service and the food was very bland. Out of 9 people not one of us really liked our meals. The waitress was unfriendly and got angry when one of the women asked for some sauce to add to her pasta that was very dry and tasteless. One person was given a dirty fork and when he asked for another she got an attitude. They added gratuity and we asked for it to be removed. The manager said he would take it off and not to tip, that he would take care of it. I had made the reservation, therefor he had my phone number so when 2 of the people made a bad review on yelp, without me knowing, he called me and yelled at me. I had nothing to do with those reviews. I have never written a bad review before, but I will not go to a restaurant and have them call and yell at me. I will not give them a chance again. My favorite Italian restaurant in York. Try the Green Fairy (absinthe fountain.) I was impressed to see anchovies on my Caesar salad. The veal was quite good as well; I'll be back again. read more

Victors is a perfect place for business dinners. When I host out of town clients, Victors is their request. There are only a few gems in York Pa, and Victors is a hidden treasure. Food is outstanding and the bar is roomy and fun. read more

Victor's has such an awesome atmosphere, it attracts a more sophisticated crowd and the food/drinks never disappoint.

The food in general is ok. On two occasions for dinner, we've had a snooty waiter. On going to Victor's for lunch with a group of women friends, we were refused separate checks (even to ring us out separately) and wound up doing the arithmetic to sort out our checks. We won't be back. There are other places in York with good food and friendlier service. read more

One of the best restaurants in town! One of my favorite places to celebrate birthdays or a casual drink with my girlfriends after a long day. The service and food is great and the vibe is divine! H had the hanger steak, I had chicken with portobello mushrooms in a wine sauce over sauteed spinach. Yum for both of us, and they were really easy about my request to sub gluten-free spinach for the pasta. The food was served really quickly when we told them we were in a hurry and the server was really nice. Good dinner, we'll be back soon. read more

We liked the relaxed but upscale feeling of Victor's. We went for an early dinner so it was pretty empty when we first got there but the place was getting packed when we left. They have a great cocktail menu - i loved the Basil Lime Gimlet - perfect refreshing summer drink. My husband tried their Dark & Stormy and really enjoyed it. Appetizer was the calamari which was excellent. Lightly fried w/a delicious spicy sauce. I had Victor's Saute for my entree - it was amazing - the artichokes and olives really made the dish. Husband had clams, shrimp, & scallops over linguini - it was also very good in a white wine sauce. I can't wait to return to try more dishes and will try to save room for dessert next time too! read more

My husband and I went to dinner tonight (Saturday) to check out Victors for the first time. What a disappointment! I asked the waiter if the chef was. Italian and he and the water boy hemmed and hawed and said "I don't know..." And then no follow up! I swear they had absolutely no idea how to answer that question, and they never came back to follow up! I got the fish and the cous cous (which I was told on delivery would be at "room temperature") was dead cold, like someone just pulled it out of the fridge. The house red win had the nose of "old foot", drinkable but smelled really terrible. The lamb was dry, the salsa skimpy and the salad was a bag of romaine from Walmart. Way too expensive for food served. Will not be returning. read more

I want to start by saying that I have never written a bad review in my life and I am not one to complain when at a restaurant, but something had to be said about my experience at Victor's. My boyfriend and I went on Saturday night for his birthday and were less than impressed. The drinks and the service were both outstanding but the food was practically inedible. We got drinks at the bar and again when we sat down, all of which were great. The waiter was knowledgable, friendly, and overall very attentive. We started with the tomato basil bisque and the caesar salad. The soup was better than the salad but it was a promising start. For our next course, he got the gnocchi and I got the Tagliatelle Cacio e Pepe. Both pastas were well overcooked and I've never seen such malformed gnocchi but that wasn't the worst part. The Cacio e Pepe was so peppery that my mouth burned. I am well aware that this dish has pepper in it's name but it tasted like an entire shaker of pepper was spilled into the dish. I could only handle a few bites before pushing it away. The manager who our plates did take notice that I did not eat much and after asking if it was okay, took the dish off the check after I explained the problem. My boyfriend and I weren't particularly thrilled but were willing to stick it out for our final course in the hopes it would be better. Unfortunately, we wished we had just left at that point. For our final course, he had the Pork Milanese and I had the Rockfish special which was grilled rockfish, parmesan risotto, and green beans. The pork was saved by the smoked marinara it was served with but the rest of the dish was forgettable. The fish dish however was completely inedible. It looked beautiful but was so awful, I spit out all three bites I managed to take. The fish was so overcooked, it didn't flake and was so tough that I had to use my boyfriend's steak knife to cut it. The risotto was also overcooked and lacked flavor but somehow the green beans were raw. We did not want to be those people who complained again so we just paid and left. There are many positive reviews about this restaurant and I'm hoping the chef just had a bad night but I will never be back to find out. read more

The wife and I go to Victors 3-4 times a year. Can't ever remember being disapointed. We are seated quickly. Make sure to have a reservation. Wait staff is alway quick and friendly. They play great music. Atmosphere is excellent. The food has always been excellent. Beer and wine selection are extensive. What else could anyone ask for? read more

Victor's has an intimate atmosphere, with good food at a decent price point, not to mention a tasty selections of beers. If you want a place to eat and hang out with friends that isn't a chain restaurant, then Victor's is the place. read more

We've gone to Victors for years and maybe that's why we kept giving it just one more chance. Not again. When the duck confit ravioli came out under cooked and we complained, we were told it was al dente. When we said it was under done, we were offered more bread. The "specials" aren't. $32 for a lobster dish with claw meat and bland sauce and $29 for a beef dish is overpriced when there is no substance. Not to mention the wine list - the Malbec I used to drink there was taken off the menu because "nobody in York drinks Malbec". That was the response I got when I asked. What a shame. Great ambiance but that is about the best I can say for this restaurant. If only they would focus on a small menu of dishes they could master, a wine list with something other than basic bar wine selections and get back to the fine little restaurant they used to be I might be persuaded to try again. As for now - Ciao Victors...and please, step up to the plate. read more
