It's all there. I was looking for more aquatic plant additions, shrimp, and loaches for my tanks when the owner informed they get re-stock and new shipment every Tuesday. I ended up leaving with male guppies, Molly's, and some homemade beef jerky (which was 10/10 btw) that auntie at the register offered instead. Don't know anything about the "smell" mentioned in earlier reviews because there wasn't one, not even the pet store kind that's expected. On the subject of earlier reviews, as far as service goes - it was busy since it was a Saturday and no one was rude or unhelpful to us considering we came in a big group with teens and kids, an age range famously known for wandering around with zero spacial awareness for others. They could have been annoyed or impatient about that alone, but they were accommodating given the size of the store. One staff member entertained my kid-sister's questions and requests while simultaneously helping others and cleaning the tanks. An example for you. For being a local family owned business since the 80s, I don't think over-the-top service is necessary. But I have a soft spot for small local business owners, so what do I really know? They keep the community alive. It gives them their own character. I doubt a 3 or less star review would negatively impact these long standing businesses anyway. But that's because I live in reality. I'll be returning every other Tuesday after they've acclimated/quarantined the last weeks new shipments. The location beats having to go Kalihi or Town if you live in nearby neighborhoods. I'd been wanting to check this place out! It definitely is a little cramped and cluttered looking inside and the smell is a little strong, but not too bad. There was a long-gone hollow goldfish staring at the sky, that gave me small-kine jump scare when I squat down to look at a tank. It was just randomly drying out at the bottom of a bucket in the aisles, which was, uh... anyways. I wanted to know more about an unlabeled and unpriced freshwater plant that somewhat resembles seaweed, so the buff dude grabbed a handful to show to the cashier lady at the front. The buff dude was attentive and personable throughout my visit, and did his best to answer questions about the fish, which I appreciated. The cashier lady though, she mumbled a name but I don't think she knew the plant that well and didn't write it down either. What she was somehow very sure about was the price, lol... just plainly stated the price for a clump is $7.99, though the tank of plants above it were organized in much neater clumps, and advertised at $5.99 each. Not only that, she had to step down from the cashier box to get her hands wet, and manually separate the handful of plant that the man grabbed. Started as a healthy, natural looking clump that would fit nicely in an 8 oz container, and she tore it in half. So, now it's small enough that it fits in the palm of your hand! Did she think to wash her hands first after handling cash and coins all morning? Nahh... But she was very insistent to him that he was definitely (and arbitrarily) holding two clumps, not one! She knew I wanted to buy it, and I'd already got a few pricier fish in my cart, so I guess she felt I could afford to cough up an extra few bucks. Yeah can, just don't think that I don't notice the grubbing... Business goes on as usual. I needed to get on with my errands that morning and eh, the shop has some local mom-and-pop vibes so I gave it a pass.

I walked in and…read morechecked in and she seemed a little overwhelmed/wanting to get the day done with (we were her last client of the day). She asked me what kind of cut I wanted and I let her know I wanted a mohawk style cut and she said she didn't understand what I wanted, I then tried to show her using my dogs body and she was still confused and started getting an attitude. She told me to pick a blade size before she could proceed and I tried telling her that I wanted to first show her what I meant and she ignored it and walked away and turned off the music and then started to walk back. My mom had been with me and told me I should leave and not allow her to cut my dog. She must've overheard my mom say this because her attitude immediately shifted and she became a little bubbly and kinder. I let her know I didn't want the mohawk anymore because it seemed too difficult to communicate with her what I wanted and I would just do a trim all over and to round his face out. She then let me know typically only poodles do that cut and asked if I was sure I wanted that cut (completely unnecessary comment). I let her know he has been getting groomed and that is his typical cut when we don't do something fun/funky. I only stayed because my dog was in need of a haircut and I was already there. I really hoped the haircut would come out great since it was the same cut on his entire body and then just face shaping and she made it a point to let me know she's been a stylist for 30 years. I had to fix up the parts that were extremely uneven and I fixed behind his ears which were not groomed in the same places. She also let me know when I picked him up how much of a good boy he was for her so I'm even more confused by the uneven cutting. I will definitely not be returning and I am so disappointed by her service because the guy (Chris) who booked my appointment was so friendly and helpful.

She didn't "noticeably" flinch as I explained to her what all would be involved and the number of animals she would have to care for. She came over for about 3 training sessions before the actual day to make sure she was comfortable with the morning routine of my beloved parrots. By the time I left for my trip I was still a little nervous but knew my kids were in good hands. She was on time every morning to start at 6am and did everything that was on her task list. She went above and beyond my expectations by sending pictures of the kids and showing that the work was complete and done correctly every day. She even spent her own time letting me do Google Hangouts with them when I needed a fix! Her rates are more than fair and I would trust her any time with all my animals and even to live in if need be for longer trips. Finally my chains are broken and I can get away now and then thanks to Savena. I give her my strongest recommendation because my husband, who did not go on vacation with me this time, said even HE trusts her and that's saying something since we're so protective over our "kids". He has black nails and does not let me touch his paws, which led me to find a professional to get his nails trimmed. We used to go to Petsmart but discontinued due to the inconvenience of reaching someone via phone call and finding a groomer who would do a good job with his nails. This is what led me to try out Mucky Pups (in addition to receiving information via word of mouth which also added credibility to Mucky Pup's services.) I instantly fell in love. When we walked up, it was such a cute, cozy, and welcoming space. We were instantly greeted by Isabelle, who is so friendly and kind to Copper Bear. She allowed us to be in the grooming room and watch him have his nails trimmed. Not only were we able to be there, she was so hospitable and fun to talk to. We felt so welcomed and could trust her instantly! Most of all, she does a wonderful job of trimming Copper's nails. We were so pleased with the results. Her grooming area is warm and welcoming and has a side yard that's easy to access to her grooming shed. My Golden Retriever Leo leaves looking like a show dog. My Chesapeake Bay Retriever Dexter receives a wonderful blow out. Their shedding decreases substantially. I've been back several times over the past year and I'm so glad this location is near by. I would rather have this gem than go to PetSmart any day (She is also more affordable than going to PerSmart)! My boys also love Isabelle! Bless her heart; She even rescued them once when they escaped their yard AND she brought them home for me (what a godsend that was). Dexter has trusts issues, he is skiddish and doesn't like strangers, but he loves Isabelle! We also had a Christmas photo shoot for the dogs and my daughters had pictures with the boys. That was a really fun experience.
