It was a Mother's Day to remember -- thanks to a Giant's win and the wonderful hospitality at Brickhouse. The game went into extra innings, which left us over an hour late for our 4:30 reservation. On an already busy Mother's Day, I know an 9-top arriving that late isn't ideal, but the staff couldn't have been more gracious. They stepped up in every way and made our celebration feel special from the moment we arrived. The old brick building is cool. I liked the historic photographs on the walls. There is a long communal table down the middle, as well as smaller tables tucked into various nooks and crannies. She was all over...running food, going behind the bar where I sat to give me a menu, grabbed additional condiments for me, and was just all over and working with a smile. We were in the area and decided to come in for a drink on a Friday night. We got sat right away but it took forever for the server to come up to us. When she finally did, we just decided to get one beer (because we had somewhere else to go). Right after my drink came we handed them my card (which they took) 15 min later they came back with my card and told me to give it to another lady (my beer was done by now) because the person that took it couldn't charge me (okay...whatever) the next lady comes up and says we need to go to the front to pay because her printer doesn't work (clearly she wanted a tip) we went up, paid, left. I checked my bank statement the Monday after and they had charged me 3x. One charge was 4x what my beer was. Needless to say, I will never be coming back. There was also a loud group of drunk people right in the center of the place drunk talking to each other. clearly they also over sever here. Loved this place! Stopped in with my sis for a bite and a bottle ( okay 2 ) of wine. Our server Sarah is a delight. Great personality and so knowledgeable. She had great food and wine recommendations for us. The wine, formally the F bomb red, now just called The Bomb. Was so great! The vibe is eclectic, from the music, to the decor. I love it. The service was nice but the food was overpriced and not too exciting. I tried the "Bluesy Bacon" burger with a side of garlic fries and the potato and bacon soup of the day. Thank goodness it was a Thursday where their "Bluesy Bacon" burger was reduced to $20 instead of $28 because it is not worth it. The bacon was pretty limp and tasteless but the blue cheese was fine. My favorite part of the meal was probably the garlic bread that came with the soup. And I also think the soup is overpriced at $8 for a small cup that was about 3 inches wide. Garlic fries were fine, but they also got soggy with the oil from sitting on top of each other. I would be hesitant to go again, but they do have a lot of offerings. These are made of chicken breast. The outside was okay and didn't stay crispy so I can't imagine how it would be with the sauce on it..probably soggy. The honey sauce was also really thin so not sure how it would have coated the chicken. Overall, this was okay but I wouldn't order it again. MARGARITA (not pictured) Terrible. Didn't really taste the tequila but it tasted watered down with some bad limes or something. Older limes can sometimes be bitter tasting and it reminded me of that. You're better off ordering something on tap. ONION RINGS I kinda liked that they were thin brcause there were more of them for the table to share although it's less oniony. (I didn't get to finish my sentence) And the employee immediately said oh, the bathroom is for paying customers only. And I said yes, we're getting a drink. (I didn't get a chance to disclose to her that we were here earlier) So my friends and I sat down while my other friend came back from the restroom and went to the bar to order drinks. A different employee went up to us asking if we're ordering drinks and I said yes, we're ordering through my friend at the bar. Then another different employee asked again if we were ordering something and again, I said we're ordering drinks through my friend at the bar. Then my friend came back with the drinks and the person at the bar apparently told her they don't have Hennessy, which is what she ordered. And she said really? We were here earlier and I had Hennessy. And the bartender said yeah, we don't have it. And my friend pointed to the very obvious bottle of Hennessy on the shelf and said, isn't that it right there? Like really? Why the judgement off the bat and you don't even try to look if you have the drink she's requesting? Rude service and very judgmental. I'll never come back here again. Wow these guys are great. I walked all the way here with my 5 yo daughter from UCSF where my husband has C* scans all day to have lunch. When we got here the kitchen was closed for a private party and I must have looked sad because the host agreed to make us a burger and fries if we sat outside. So very sweet. Cute but service is lacking . Ordered sourdough toast and chicken apple sausage. Husband ordered 1 egg, ham and sourdough toast 2 cappuccinos. First thing, shame that they don't use real sourdough bread for the toast!! How can you not use traditional sourdough as a restaurant in San Francisco???? To add more insult they had the audacity to serve 1 slice of bread cut in half and this was supposed to be an order of toast!!!CheapCappuccino machine was non functioning so we had to wait 15 minutes so I ended up cancelling my cappuccino.
