Stout braised beef and short rib sandwich $8. super awesome!

Tried their Stout Braised Beef and Short Rib Sandwich for $8 at the Eat Real Festival. Wow, it was a lot better than we expected! The meat was extremely tender and moist, dripping with savory juices. We wanted to lick the plate. The marinade hit the perfect combo of sweet and salty. No funkiness that can sometimes happen when braising with alcohol. Even the bun, soft with a little bit of chewiness, played well with the flavors. These folks sure can cook! I hope they expand to the East Bay soon.

REVIEWER # 1 I LOVE LUNCH POP-UPS && MINNE BELL'S IS THE NEW POP-UP IN TOWN! Welcome Minnie Bells, a lunch pop up that replaces Bon Marche. I found out Bon Marche is officially closed and will start doing pop ups to see how business works. Minnie Bell's has started serving their food start the week of September 19th and they are open during the lunch time from 11AM-2PM Monday-Wednesday. They have a little sign outside the Bon March building that states the food that they offer. During the time I went their menu was limited to s couple items. Just to name a few: *Minnie Bell's Famous Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich-$11 *Pop's Smothered Tri-Tip Sandwich-$13 *New Style Vegan Sandwich- $9 They do offer sides such as: Potatoes Salad, Picked Fillmore Farmers Market Veggies, or Salad. Not interested in Sandwiches for lunch? No worries! Minnie Bells offer delicious salads! There are two on the menu: -Southern Style Grain Salad for $9 or Big Old Green Salad for $10. They also offer a Stew of the Day! The actual day that I walked in they were offering Bells Chicken and Black Pea Stew. I may be mistaken but I am sure the stew routes maybe every week or day. Make sure you check in what the stew of the day is. Now how would I grade the pop-up? CUSTOMER SERVICE: 5/5 Well customer service was great! Mark took our order and was very friendly! I was asking questions about the hopes of Minnie Bells possibly being located in the Market and he informed me that the owners are working on possibly getting a location in the Fillmore area since that is where they are from so it makes sense for them to own a business in the very area that they grew up at and they are from. ACTUALLY WAITING PERIOD: 5/5 Since the pop-up is located in Bon Marche, there was plenty of seating. I ordered my food to go however they do offer seating inside the restaurant for you to enjoy your food. The actually waiting time took less than five minutes for the food to arrive. FOOD:3/5 I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with a side of potato salad. I personally feel that Salad should be automatically given and then patrons should have the options of potatoes salad or pickled veggies. If I could be honest, I didn't like the potato salad. The taste, the texture of the food, everything about it was just not pleasant. After one bite of it I realized that I should have stuck with getting a salad. The Fried Chicken sandwich was delicious though! It was a thick piece of buttermilk, hot sauce rosemary fried chicken with marinated cabbage slaw in it! Either it was so filling or I wasn't that hungry because I didn't end up eating my whole sandwich just a half of it. I would definitely recommend ordering the fried chicken but pass on the potato salad and just order a salad or veggies (you can never go wrong with that). I am routing for you Minnie Bells! I am hoping that you finally get a restaurant in the Fillmore so I can get a better idea of what else you serve! REVIEW 139/196

Fried chicken sandwich $11... Very good!! A lite kick, chicken is moist, golden fried crisp. Mmmmmmm

Serendipitous moment... one of those rare occasions that I venture into The Market in the Twitter building. Started to wait in the poke bowl line before realizing it'll be an hour before getting my food. Walked around the market looking for "something". Nothing struck my fancy. Walked out and headed north on Market Street. Noticed the Bon Marche sign and the open door. The interior intrigued me and the small A-sign propping the door open listed "Fried Chicken Sandwich". Who could resist?!?! I'm very glad I walked in. On that serendipitous day I met my soul mate... her name was fried chicken sandwich! And I devoured her with passion! Minnie Bell's is now hosting their pop-up on Monday thru Wednesday 11a-2p in the old Bon Marche location. Limited menu, but that's the beauty of it. They can focus on making the best ____. I think this strategy should be adopted by all new restaurants. Why waste time on something you're not good at. Sell the winners and dump the losers!

They don't have a huge food selection but I bought their corn bread and it was super buttery and yummy!

Open air, a mix of food trucks, people hanging out, dogs everywhere, and that easy San Francisco energy where you can show up however you are and it fits. It never feels like a production, just a good place to land. We have eaten our way through a decent chunk of the trucks at this point, and that is half the fun. One day it is something messy and indulgent, the next it is lighter, but it always hits. Grabbing a drink, finding a spot at the picnic tables, and slowly settling in as the place fills up is kind of the rhythm. It is social without being overwhelming, lively without being chaotic. What keeps us coming back is how consistent it feels in the best way. It is easy, flexible, and always a good time whether you stay for an hour or lose an entire afternoon there. It is the kind of spot that turns into a routine before you even realize it, and honestly, we are not mad about it.

Beyond that, the food and drinks are all food truck based. They are all quite good, and there's a wide variety of items. This also means a good variety for folks with different dietary needs, because they are mostly picking their own food. I have always enjoyed my time here, whether it's on company dime or if I'm just hanging out with friends. I do wish that there are more heaters around for the colder days but that's just life in the bay! It can be kind of cold and foggy all seasons here, so if you have a solid group of folks I'd recommend reserving a spot with a fire pit. One more note: parking can be tough. You either have to circle around for street parking, or rideshare here.

When I came here with my friends last time, I remember having a good experience so decided to pay them another visit. Their menu looked smaller with different items this time around. I saw a lot of people ordering the Yogurt Marinated Chicken ($17.00 + tax), so I decided to order that. +Even though the grilled Mary's Chicken looked dry, it was moist and juicy. Never thought of yogurt as a marinade, but hey it works! +Organic spring mix salad was fresh and lightly dressed w/vinaigrette. +Lutenitsa, a Bulgarian spread made with roasted red peppers and other veggies, was flavorful and not spicy. -Chicken was burnt in a lot of parts: Seems like it was left too long on the grill -Herb polenta cake was soft, but bland. Other items I tried during my last visit: +Black Sea Fisherman's Stew +Baklava Side notes: 1.) Check the Presidio's website for their schedule: https://presidio.gov/explore/park-attractions/presidio-pop-up-schedule 2.) Enjoy your meal on the picnic tables or lawn. 3.) Paid parking lots: Bring coins b/c there's a surcharge for credit cards. *Verdict: If the chicken wasn't burnt, it would have been a winner winner chicken dinner.

Between the location and the aesthetic, I was excited to see what the hype was about. My friend and I ordered the turmeric golden latte and the butterfly pea latte from the "botanical + herbal" section. Both drinks looked beautiful, but they tasted surprisingly thin and pretty flavorless. There wasn't much depth or richness, and we were confused because we expected a latte-style drink to include espresso. After asking the barista, we learned that the botanical + herbal drinks don't come with coffee or espresso at all. That wasn't clearly indicated, and the word "latte" definitely led us to assume otherwise. To their credit, the barista was kind and offered to add an espresso shot to my drink once I mentioned the confusion. After the addition, it tasted significantly better and finally had some body. I just don't understand why that wouldn't be the default or at least clearly labeled on the menu. The concept and setting are appealing, but the experience itself felt underwhelming.

What's better than the ocean/beach and tacos?!?…read more I've been a super fan of Leo's tacos since my LA days, and when Leo brought one of his food trucks up to the Bay Area, it was inevitable that I would try out the tacos! The Leo's taco truck literally is located in San Francisco/Ocean Beach with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Leo's taco trucks are known in Southern California as THE taco truck for reasonably priced street tacos, that are beyond delicious. The experience at the San Francisco/Ocean Beach taco truck was great. For the most part it mirrors the LA experience, which is exactly what I wanted. It's like having a piece of home. Menu prices are nonexistent so there's no way to determine exactly what you're going to be charged. I ordered two Al pastor tacos, and was charged seven dollars which included tax. I really like that they always include a piece of pineapple with the Al Pastor. The tacos were absolutely yummy. The meat was flavorful, but definitely not as juicy as the LA version. Plus, they don't seem to be as generous with meat at this location as they are in LA. The talk of themselves are not the traditional small street tacos, and yet they're smaller than the traditional sized tacos. They do provide bagged condiments that include sauces and radish. I was super hesitant to try them because of some of the other reviews. Tasty tacos, and if you've ever been to Leo's, and you, in this part of the Bay Area, it's definitely worth a stop.
