For a quick bite, I stopped by Vida after running an errand across the street. The place was busy due to a company gathering the day of my visit, sound was up and decided to sit at the bar. Prompt and friendly greet, followed by my drink and tacos, and Vida was good! I enjoyed my smoked margarita. A nice smoky quench, Ilegal Mezcal made this version perfect. If you like smoky, this is good. I decided on the Pacifica and Pork Belly Bahn Mi tacos. The sauce was overpowering in the pork belly, but a good size street taco. May need to go light (or on the side) on the sauce next time. The Pacifica was yummy and not greasy, and again generous in the filling considering it's a street taco. No chips or salsa on the house here, but lots of sharables to nibble with tequila anything if you wanna live on the edge beyond water on the rocks thing. Parking is simple. Really great twist on tacos!! It was served family style so you could mix and match and share. The Pork Belly Bahn Mi taco and corn bites were especially delicious. They also had trivia on the night we went (it was Wednesday) and that was also a fun way to enjoy the evening. Servers and staff were nice but it felt like our table would get passed by a lot even when trying to get out our server's attention. Overall I would go back for the food. read more

Vida is one of my FAVORITE taco bars in Maryland! I used to frequent their location in Baltimore, which is closer to my home, so sad to seem them closed. I have actually been to the Severna Park location several times, surprised this is my first review! I love this location because of the covered porch. You get the outside dining experience, with the sun beaming down on you. The porch also increases the seating in the restaurant significantly. The restaurant has a whole is very spacious and gives patrons plenty of room to dine comfortably. the service is also top notch! Very friendly, very efficient, making the experience that much more enjoyable. Now, to the food! If I could give them more than 5 star, I would!! I absolutely love the food a Vida! Very tasty, always consistent, super filling and very affordable!!! My top favorites are the chicken nachos and the corn bites! TBH it should be so easy to like, but after many attempts and crummy service (there are a few good servers, but the bad are really bad) and mediocre food, my friends and I have just decided we're done. I met my friend here for taco Tuesday recently. She spoke highly of this place as her second favorite taco spot. I loved that they had an indoor/outdoor patio seating so we were able to take in the beautiful day. We ordered the trio appetizer of queso, guacamole & salsa to start. For our drinks, I ordered the Vida Purple Drank and she ordered the Vida margarita. I loveddd my drink so much, my gf tried it and attempted to take mine lol. Needless to say, I ordered a second and so did she. The tacos I ordered were just okay to me. I had a Pacifica taco, paprika shrimp fajita taco and a scallop taco. Great drinks, cool atmosphere, and good food. Warning- NOT authentic Mexican food. The tortillas are not made in house and tacos are not authentic at all but it's still a great happy hour spot. Tacos are good but service was mediocre and the kitchen took about 50 minutes to prepare our order. A bit ridiculous considering that I have been to fine restaurants that took less time to prepare a fantastic meal. Here is the part that really gets me peeved. Service recovery is not saying "I'm sorry" 4 or 5 times. You do something for the customer that compensates them for the problem ...a free drink, a dessert, a coupon for a future visit. I really like this place for Taco Tuesday. The tacos are good, and they have a variety. The staff is very nice, regardless of when you go. The drinks they made were both virgin and alcoholic. The waiter had a good understanding of flavor profiles and was able to recommend the best sauces for the tacos. My friend and I stumbled on this place last night. With the looks of the open floor plan, huge patio windows, and string lights it was very inviting. I really loved how you can sit inside and still kinda be outside. The night was beautiful with a nice breeze and it just so happen to be trivia night (Wednesday). There was also a bar inside where you can either choose the indoor side or patio outdoor side kinda like the Bahama Breeze bars. I really love that. Per the Specials menu, seemed like that had decent specials throughout the week. I believe the night I was there Wed. was $30 margarita pitcher night. Unfortunately I didn't drink, I only had water. About that... waiter brought us water in a glass but it was warm and had no ice nor a straw. Just know if you are a water drinker like me, make sure to ask for ice in it. When I asked, he just brought out a cup with of ice and I had to pour it in glass myself. I ordered a chicken taco and a carne asada taco. I wouldn't say they were the best tacos. They were just okay and the cheese on the chicken one kinda smelled funny. Also my chicken taco was overfilled with shredded chicken which was nice but the steak was kinda skimpy and only had 2 pieces of steak. I enjoyed the steak taco more btw. My friend had the fried guacamole taco and mushroom lentil taco since she's vegetarian. She said they both were delicious. It was nice to see they had the vegetarian options as most taco spots don't. We also got the trio chips that came with salsa, guacamole, and quest. The quest was nasty, guac was good and salsa was okay but tomatoes were too chunky. Both husband and I gave 4 stars. We had the chips n dips appetizer to start. Free refill on chips so don't go crazy on your dip if you don't want to. They def overload the dips in the 3 ramekins. We enjoyed a pitcher of guava marg with our meal and it was def worth getting. Kevin had the flour tacos: sweet potato, chorizo, and Carne asada. I had the bibb lettuce shrimp and tuna, and a flour chicken. All in all, great meal and would most certainly come back for another meal. I think their drinks are the best thing they have to offer they are made so fresh and are fantastic, the food however is underwhelming and extremely overpriced for the portions. My family and I were in the mood for some tacos. Yelped and came across Vida Taco Bar. As soon as we entered we were struck with the aroma of deliciousness. The atmosphere is subtle of richness. We were greeted and seated. You have the option the sit indoor or within their patio. We came on a Thursday so the tequila drinks were 20% off. I ordered the nachos as an appetizer.. one word! Bottom Line: Elevating the SP dining scene with amazing margaritas and a variety of tacos. My experience at Vida Taco Bar in Annapolis was just ok so I wasn't in a huge rush to try the Severna Park location but my husband and I finally decided to give it a whirl, and I am glad we did. For starters, Vida Taco Bar makes the best margaritas that I've ever had so I had to start with one of those. We decided to skip apps and focus on our tacos. We chose our tacos very, very carefully. We weren't happy with our selections when we visited the Annapolis location so we studiously reviewed the menu and then landed on a variety - mostly all winners. My favorites were the scallop and Pacifica (fried fish). I also tried the fried avocado with "brick sauce" that was kinda like mole but spicy. The piece of avocado was huge, which I appreciate, but I felt like it was overpowered by the brick sauce. All three of my tacos were in the spicy category and they definitely caught up to me. But for those who want less heat, there are plenty of options in that category. Also, there are various options for vegetarian tacos. And you can choose your taco "medium" - corn, flour or bib lettuce. As another Yelper noted, the water that is served is warm water without ice. Perhaps that is authentic Mexican aqua, sans the ecoli, but I could have really used some ice to cool me down after my spicy tacos and the hot flash that followed. Speaking of cool, I appreciate that Vida sources their ingredients locally when possible. And they've even had Jailbreak brew a custom beer for them - "Trop the Mic," I believe. I admire that Vida Taco Bar is staying true to themselves and sticking to what they do best - tacos and tequila. read more

Vida Taco Bar....lol, my new song is going to be *Living La Vida Taco*! This is during Covid....I mean, we have nothing else to do but laugh at this point and make every attempt to embrace life. Seriously, how long did it take us to get down here and try this? We've been going to Garry's Grill for eons, passed this many, many times....said we were going to stop, but never did. That was until tonight. Vida Taco Bar is happening....I mean it's just a really cool place to go! Even though they were pretty busy, we were able to get a table. We had looked at a menu before going, but they are using QR codes for your phone, so be sure that you have a code reader downloaded.....they do have internet for those of you that are limited on your data. I really love this and hope this is something that continues after this pandemic goes away! We started with a Vida Spicy Margarita. It was amazing! Just enough spice and enjoyed the spicy salt rimmed glasses. The glass favors a clear soda can, so for $10 bucks, I think it's a good deal. The pitcher is roughly a little over 3 glasses, so I personally would just order a second one. Either way, it's a great Margarita! We weren't going to get an appetizer, but when we were thinking of ordering, we were simply going to get two tacos, however things changed....so we went for the corn bites. This was amazing! It reminded us a lot of Mexican Street Corn. It was tender and flavorful....almost couldn't get enough of it. The sauce, spices and light cheese finished off this lovely little tidbit. It really was lick your fingers tasty. Our server came back for our taco order. We (LOL) thought we had that nailed down....and we did, of course until I opened my mouth about a few other ones. So hubby picked the ahi tuna and scallop taco and I selected the Thai chili shrimp and pork belly taco....we decided to share a carne asada taco. It was then I made mention of the sweet potato taco....bad me! Our lovely server started telling us about that one and that found it's way to the order! Funny thing, that one ended up being our favorite one! Very flavorful and a real tasty treat! For me, the pork belly was my next favorite. The kimchee added a nice bite to the taco! My hubby loved the ahi tuna. Carne asada was just ordinary....but it's probably because I actually make that one at home. Hubby also had a seared scallop taco and I had Thai shrimp taco. Both were good and out of the ordinary. All of these were a notch above what we are used to eating. We had the churros for dessert. No, we shouldn't have, but glad we did! They were so amazing and they were totally different than what we usually get at the Mexican restaurant we frequent. Not a cheap evening, but if you stick with a soft drink or water, you would be good. Shout out to our super server Karlye! She was spectacular! We never wanted for anything. Beware!!! Annapolis Vida taco refuses to correct an order caused directly by a misprint on their menu. DoorDash delivered exactly what Vida Taco gave them to deliver. The Carne Asada ad on their website says clearly, six tacos per kit. I ordered two kits which should have totaled 12 tacos. I spent over $51. DoorDash delivered three tacos. I called the store and talk to the manager who blamed the problem on DoorDash! How is it DoorDash's fault? Vida Taco published false ads...of which I have picture of! Then the female manager said that any refund would have to come from DoorDash! No offer to make the order correct. You've got to be kidding me. This was horrific service from a manager! After my fellow Yelp Elite friend posted about this restaurant located in Baltimore, I discovered that there was an Annapolis and Severna Park location. How did I ever miss this memo? I visited the Severna Park location and the layout reminded me of a restaurant that I visit while in Little Rock, Arkansas, "Local Lime". It was pretty packed for a Friday evening. Both the restaurant and patio was getting full. Also, they were setting up for live music that was starting at 7pm. So I opted to sat at the bar. The young bartender was friendly and took pride in his job, I could tell by the way he made his drinks. I requested that he make me a non-alcoholic drink like a fruit punch. He looked lost for a moment and then I instructed him to mix pineapple, orange and cranberry juice. He made me a drink that was both appealing to the eye and delicious. Next, I ordered their Pacifica Taco which had fish and some other spicy toppings. However I requested to substitute the pickled onions and spicy sauce for a milder sauce. The bartender informed me that they didn't mixed their tacos toppings. That sounded ridiculous to me and I told him that wasn't good because customers should be able to request a sauce, it wasn't like I asked to add another meat or veggie. I guess he thought about it and recommend the avocado cream sauce. The taco was good with the Cole slaw, fish and sauce. Great recommendation!!! I was impressed with the young mans knowledge of the menu. He told me about the special hot sauce they brew in barrels and they even had their custom made herrera tequila. I was interested in buying both but he gave me a look like huh?!?! I have patronized plenty restaurants that sell their custom made products. That would be a great marketing venture for them. Hope this place revamps its menu yonder them tacos. For the area I'd suggest more elaborated dishes like carne asada, enchiladas and so on. I went to the location in Annapolis once and thought my food was way too salty, then I saw they opened this location closer to me. While I thought the food was meh, I decided I'd give it another chance (and saw they had new vegetarian options, so maybe these would be better!). It wasn't overly salty this time, but it was still meh. It's not so terrible that I'll never go again, but it's not a place I'll ever crave or suggest on my own. I ordered queso as my appetizer and that was the best part. I think if they gave you sauces with your tacos it would make it much better. Love this place and love that it is local too as well as in Downtown Annapolis! The staff are so friendly and attentive. My roommate and I ordered the Ceviche and Blanco Queso Dip. The ceviche dip has ahi tuna, lime juice, avocado, chili oil, cilantro, scallion, corn nuts, and queso fresco. It was incredible and so fresh! The blanco queso dip has chihuahua cheese, monterey jack, silver tequila, green chile, yellow onion, tomato, and cilantro. It was good! I ordered the Calamari taco, the Pork Belly taco, and Seared Scallops. The calamari taco has marinated tentacles, fried tubes, onions, salsa naranja, sesame seeds, and cilantro. I asked for mine without jalapeños. The pork belly taco has crispy hoisin glazed pork belly, jumbo lump crab, micro cilantro, mint, and tamarind sauce. This is a great spot in Severna Park! If you are looking for a nicer restaurant, this is your place. I've always enjoyed everything I have had here. The service is generally very good and since the restaurant has reopened after the coronavirus, it is somewhat easy to get a table. There are always others dining here but it is not overpacked to the point where you would feel uneasy or unsafe. The margaritas are by far the best in the area. I love the classic margarita and the jalapeño margarita. They are a bit pricey, around $10 for one and $38 for a pitcher, but in my opinion they're totally worth it. They fresh squeeze all of their juices at the restaurant. The food is also wonderful. I always start with the guacamole. It is fresh and delicious! The menu features many unique Maryland styled tacos which I like a lot. The soft shell crab taco is my personal favorite. The scallops, tinga chicken, el pastor and shrimp tacos are all delicious. I decided on the Paloma as my cocktail but after having it, it was okay but I think next time I will ask for no salt. It was a bit too much for me. We had a terrible experience. The service extremely slow, not very friendly, our orders were a mess, and the food was a mess, and the food was just not good. For the price you're paying, it should actually look appetizing. There were six of us and it took forever to order. A lot of the staff were congregating around one area. It was almost like we were inconveniencing them. When we did order, we individually ordered about three or four different types of tacos each. 18 or 19 tacos eventually came out piled on two small platters. We had never had this happen before. Every time each any of us had been there, you received your own individual plate with your tacos on it. We asked our waiter why everything came out piled up on trays and were told "that's just the way we do it". There was no real rhyme or reason to the order in which the tacos were piled on these platters. The sauces were everywhere. The tacos were spilling onto each other. I'm a vegetarian and I had meat and grease from other tacos on my tacos. It literally took 10 to 15 minutes of going back and forth trying figure out which taco was which and who it belonged to. We had to call the waiter over a few times and ask him what the tacos were because they were all covered in different sauces and toppings from being next to the other tacos and jumbled together. We we were missing tacos as well. It was sloppy and a mess. It would be one thing if they were really good, but they weren't. They were covered in a ton of sauce and toppings with very little on the inside. They just didn't taste that good. Definitely don't get the fried avocado. It just took forever. It took us another 25 minutes to even get the check AFTER we were done. Then we were told we couldn't split the check and had to figure out who got what because they were just listed as the taco type, and the number of them plus they were all different prices and we were dividing it between six people. The missing taco came out after the check was given to us. We talked to the manager and told him about them being mixed up and messy and that the vegetarian options were laying in the meat sauce. He just said it's family style and it is printed on the menu. I guess none of us saw it. We hadn't been here in a little while. I don't think anyone working there could've cared less. We weren't trying to be rude or demanding. We just wanted to eat the tacos that we each ordered. Don't go, it's not that good and definitely not worth the money and time spent. read more

Always great service and food. Just an FYI- it's al-a-cart so you are paying for each taco. Plenty of good tacos to choose from though...It also has an open patio for those nice days when you want to have some fresh air. I also love their drink menu, lots of good stuff on there too!! For the love of god stop boiling your chicken. Tinga would be a billion times better if you just grilled the chicken and actually ran a knife over the meat. I have been drooling over the photos of Vida Tacos on instagram for awhile, however, they didn't completely live up the the photo hype. The restaurant is gorgeous, tucked away-it's a gem of a place. Easy parking, we arrived with out table of 7 and got quick seating. Tap water on the table, no free chips and salsa. We ordered the nachos and queso. The nachos are massive, very shareable, with unique yummy toppings (such as red cabbage). The queso, while delicious, needs more chips on the side. Then we ordered a bunch of tacos, each in intervals of 3. I love that you can choose your vessel for taco (lettuce, flour tortilla, or corn tortilla). They have more special type tacos-and cater to the more seafood-veggie types. When they bring them out, they bring a large tray with all the tacos together-mixed up-it took our waiter many attempts to figure out whose was whose. Seemed very inefficient, especially as we lost toppings passing tacos around. The tacos were hit and miss-very filled to the brim but lacked the flavor to back up quantity with quality: The ahi tuna has zero seasoning, the soft shell crab is amazing, pacifica has great flavors big cut of fish- better on a corn tortilla, scallops are meaty but toppings didnt pair well, jerk maihi was dry fish very wet toppings, chorizo was oily, and pork belly was juicy. read more

I could complain about that or I could simply take my healthy appetite for cocktails & mimosas elsewhere, LOL. Don't fret.... there are SEVERAL options in the surrounding area with high chairs, French fries and nuggets, and crayons galore.... On to the eats.... We love Vida Taco bar of Annapolis, however this new Severna Park location has some improvement needed in kitchen execution which I will charge to them still being hot and new. The pulled chicken tacos I usually love were a little dry and bland at Severna Park. My dogfish Taco was also bland and the batter was over cooked / too crunchy. I did enjoy the night's special taco that was compared to a seafood stew taco, as it was probably one of the best tacos I've ever tasted and I loooooove tacos. The tortillas even seemed to be missing something we loved from our visits to Vida of Annapolis. The tuna ceviche was still delicious but the chunks of tuna were cut way too huge to thoroughly enjoy and the queso blanco was something I'll never order from them again... it was pretty flavorless, like a warm milky goo. Vida's cocktails are always inventive so I hope we just caught them on a bad night because ours seemed watered down at which time we began to partake in tequila shots because you can't go wrong with straight Patron or Avion :) Hubby mentioned that his pork belly and carne asada tacos weren't bad but flavor wasn't as remarkable as Vida of Annapolis. There are some fantastic daily specials including discounted house margaritas on certain days, discounted pitchers on certain days , and 20%off the entire bill on Tuesdays. Check my photos posted for details. Service from Eric, the bartender was fantastic and he was super knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. He went above and beyond to share some of his personal mango infused hot sauce one of his regulars gifted him which really took my fish taco to new heights. He gave great recommendations and walked us through all the specials including ones not listed on the menu. We never waited long for anything and he was super proactive so I'd rate service 5/5, as we loved Eric. Atmosphere, decor, and ambiance were done right as what you'd expect for a hipster taco bar with really great murals and Mexican artwork through out, but not like the kitchy artwork you see in most Mexican restaurants... these murals are more Coachella-esque LOL. Nothing about this location looks like, "bring in your infants and toddlers!" And that's what I like... that's what I like (in my best Bruno Mars voice). We'll be back in a few months when hopefully the kitchen smooths out some kinks. Can't wait to enjoy some margaritas and sangrias out on the patio when it gets warm again. read more

Food and drinks were outstanding. Would highly recommend. Scallop taco was our favorite but Thai basil and buffalo cauliflower were really good too. Taco Tuesday is a great deal with I think 20% off. Service was great. Fun location. read more

After several recommendations from others, we tried Vida over the weekend while we had family in town. The service started off fine, but as we went through our meal our sever was paying more attention to setting her tables than our empty glasses and lack of plates. We had to get her attention several times to get something we needed since she was not checking in with us. I had really high expectations for the food, as the appetizers we started off with were great (street corn bites and chips & queso) but unfortunately the tacos and the quesadillas we had really seemed to lack flavor. It's great that the food is locally-sourced, but it seemed as if they were missing a little something more. We wished they had more selections of margarita flavors or even some additional types of entrees. Overall, I'd say they could benefit from a revamp/addition of some menu items. We'll probably try it another time to see if we just happened to get an off night. read more
