I have to say A+ on presentation. The queso came out sizzling in a lave rock bowl. The ambiance is very upscale. The food came out looking beautiful. I had the lunch street tacos. Tasty, hot, with a pineapple salsa. The rice and beans were not remarkable, but rather bland. The salsas were tasty but lacked a spicy kick. The service was impeccable. Friendly, never waited for refills. I'd skip bringing the kids but definitely a good date spot. Overall, I enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

The food and drink were good and we had a good time. But, we put on name on the waitlist and it said it would be 55-65 minutes. We waited about 15 minutes to leave and on the way, got a text that our table was ready, but if we didn't show up within 5 minutes our waitlist would be canceled. Supposedly they gave us a 10 minute grace time, but it showed canceled after 5. Granted we got there I maybe 6-7 after the original text and got a table, but felt like we had to insist on it. Then our waitstaff was great when she showed up, but she left us alone for quite a while. Lots of staff around not doing much and a number of open tables (only a waitlist, no reservations). So I don't understand the system there- that needs some major tweaking. Again, I would say the food was good but a bit pricey with a drink. read more

Let me tell you about the staff and service. Service: Dominique at the Rockwall location has her team firing on all cylinders. In a time when good service is difficult to find, the service and staff here is on point. Every single time we've gone we've had the best service. Food: Top notch and quality. There are not many restaurants I order different things, because I usually get what I know I will like. I've been here multiple times and have ventured across the menu and there is not a bad thing I've had. Their Verde Molcajete Bowl is AMAZING. Tons of flavor and perfect spice/heat level. We were there at 11 New Year's Day and were seated right away of course. Our server was very good and attentive. I had 1 Barbacoa street taco. I didnt care much for the meat. The Elote was super good. Ask for extra sauce as that stuff is bomb. Husband loved his enchiladas. The chips and salsa had some kind of seasoning sprinkled on them that made them top notch. Didn't much care for the wait list option. But I guess it's better for their business, they can fill the seats quickly. We put in within plenty of time. Just don't like arriving, finding parking and waiting outside in the heat. Food was very good, service was excellent. Patio was a little warm on Saturday evening. What a refreshing addition to Rockwall! You are immediately transported into a tropical setting that feels very much like you are dining in a fine Mexican Resort! The staff are very accommodating and the service is the best I have experienced at a local restaurant in a very long time. The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful. I visited this location two consecutive days and on both days my food had hair in it. I did not send the food back the first day however, the second day I did send the food back twice so a total of three dishes had hair in them. When I spoke to the manager regarding the hair in the food, he did offer to remake the dish. However, there was no discount offered or anything. I was given a 15% discount on my next visit. I sat at the bar on my visit this evening and words can not express what an amazing experience that Michelle gave me. Her service and attention to detail was top tier. She offered me chips and salsa giving me a menu right away. It was busy so such prompt acknowledgement made me feel like an instant VIP. Her drinks were on point, exceptionally balanced and just what I needed after a long day. We saw him maybe twice, once for an apology and once to promise us a water refill that never came. We were there for a total of 1hr and 40 minutes and the only reason we got our food was because of the manager Dominique. She was honestly amazing, she was not only apologetic (for things out of her control - other servers and kitchen being backed up) but she was result oriented. She hustled and made things happen; she made sure we got our food and drinks and were taken care of. She also let us know this is not the normal standard of service. As we were leaving I saw her working expo, honestly I don't know what she is being paid but she deserves more. The food, when we got it, was hot a delicious. Husband and I decided to try this place today for lunch. Soon as you walk in I was greeted with big smile and thank you for coming in for lunch. Inside was nice and good size menu as well as lunch menu. Started with some queso blanco and do not touch the molcajete bowl it is a hot 400 degrees. Chips were seasoned with smoke salt and a green salsa and house salsa. We split the 3 street taco plate added rice & charro beans which didn't disappoint. I also tried there versions of a Paloma which was pretty good as well could use tajin and little more tequila for me. Will be back to try it again and let's hope parking gets better. Mind you we got there right at open today 11:00 and left by noon on and already about 15 people waiting and full parking lot. Arrived bout 530 for a 6pm reservation, greeted at the door and told if we wanted to be seated early they could make it work. We ordered the queso and it was delicious, so were both the sauces they bought with the chips. As usual I forgot our servers name 2 minutes after she told me but the service was outstanding. I had the carne asada tacos and the meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly, ball and chain ordered something but can't recall name of it but she said it was delicious. One of the managers, Mary came by and we chatted a bit. Told her how much we enjoyed the meal and love the interior decor! Overall rating: 3.5 stars 4 for food 3 for experience Came with a party of 8, and was able to be seated right away upon entering our names on the waitlist. However upon entering, we were told they did not have anymore high chairs available and that they would bring them once available. We had 2 one year old active babies with us. Despite having no high chairs, they seated us outside by the booths in the sun. Took about 15 mins for the sun to finally move :/ the restaurant itself was very elevated tho and a great place to take pictures. Our server was nice and asked if we were celebrating anything, which we said our friends baby just turned one! (Spoiler alert, they didn't do anything special for the birthday.) about 15 mins in, i had reminded our waiter about the high chairs and she was only able to locate one. It was quite difficult to eat our food with a very mobile baby, so my husband and I had to take turns eating.. but that's parenting.. For the food, the food was surprisingly good for being in Texas. I got the sour cream chicken enchilada which was good! I'm not a huge sour cream fan, but the dressing made the enchilada creamy and moist. My friend got a salad.. which after ordering it he wishes he got something else.. they basically cut a whole slab of lettuce in half expecting him to cut the lettuce with a butter knife lol. Aside from all that, place isn't bad. The chips and salsa made up for it. Since I don't live in Texas, I probably wouldn't go back but maybe if I lived there, maybe I would read more
