I really enjoyed Viet Citron for what it was a can definitely recommend the eggrolls and chicken bahn mi. I also had the pho ga which was fine. If you're expecting a traditional bowl of pho, you won't get that. Instead you'll have a good bowl of chicken, noodles, and broth. It's nice to have a fast casual Viet spot but the thing that really got me were the prices. $15 for a Bahn mi is crazy, local Bahn Mi shops near me jumped from around $5 to $6 for a sandwich so I have no idea where $15 come. The ambiance is all it has. The pho was $21 for dact biet and it was small and bland. The tendons were super hard and portions were frugal. We also got ban mi for $18 with pork. I am a fan of Pho and let me tell you moving back to Boston in May, I have yet to find dishes that are authentic, with fresh ingredients like Viet Citron. A friend of mine recommended the place and noticed it was very close to my house -- I have gone in to order sit down, as well as ordering via DoorDash, and everytime it is delivered to my house, the packaging is well done, it comes piping hot still (after a 20 minute drive) and the customer service is great. I've been meaning to try Viet Citron during a Burlington Hmart trip one of these days, and finally made it last summer. We got the rare tai round pho. The broth was intensely savory and unlike any pho broth I've had before. You can taste the fish sauce, and it's so savory that it borders on being salty. We got an add-on of ribs for $5 so we had a lot of meat. I could've used more noodles -- the quantity was pretty lacking. Overall this was a very unique bowl of pho and I would probably get this again, though maybe with extra noodles if possible. We also got the rice noodle bowl with grilled chicken. I liked both the chicken and noodle components. The sauce on the side was very tasty -- I usually don't like these sauces because they're sweet, but this one was not. The shrimp summer roll was good and very sturdy. It had a lot more veggies than noodles. Overall I would come back -- it's a solid food option for the ol' Hmart trip. It does close relatively early (7pm), so it requires some planning if you're going later in the day. The crispy pork belly with the chilli sauce is to die for. I pray that they keep the Banh Xeo on the regular menu because it was so crispy and flavorful (100% will pick this for my last meal). It tasted so good. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was strong, just how I like it. Summer rolls were packed with shrimp and fresh veggies, accompanied with a peanut dipping sauce, that was the right amount of savory and sweet. The Dac Biet Pho was full of beef and veggies. Most places give you mostly noodles to save on cost, was this Pho was packed with the good stuff! It came out piping hot with a box of sprouts and other fresh veggies to drop in. So delicious. The star for me was the Banh Mi. I picked the sirloin as my protein, and I was not disappointed. Marinated steak grilled to perfection, on a fresh baguette with crispy veggies and fish sauce. Wow. There pho ga (chicken pho) reminds me of my favorite pho ga place in Philadelphia, PA. I can tell you that this is as good as it gets for Massachusetts. Unless I want to drive six hours or more to Philly, should I crave pho ga, this will be my go to. I rate this place as number one for their chicken pho. The dipping sauce is a combination of kaffir lime leaves, salt, ground black pepper, thinly slice hot pepper, and lime juice. I honestly do not understand the reviews for this restaurant at all. The single most poorly executed / service / everything Vietnamese restaurant we have ever visited. Service was AWFUL, it took ~40 minutes for a bowl of Pho and they brought out half of the meals at our table ~20 min apart. Several tables that ordered after us received their orders and had fully finished by the time we received ours. Drink orders also took 15+ minutes. The restaurant was not full and there was no line. Unclear why it was taking so long for the pho? Pho is not good, noodles over cooked, broth is very greasy (unusual for pho which should be a clean complex broth). Went with Vietnamese family members and they were offended, didn't finish their meal - the broth tasted a bit rancid, almost like the fat had turned? None of our group finished our meals, because it was honestly tough to get through. And my lord is it expensive, a Banh Mi was $17!!!! Absurd. Offensively expensive for what it is. Don't bother with this place, go to Hmart next door. Bill was higher than a high end sit down restaurant but instead it's set up as a fast casual. This is the best pho I've ever had. The 48 hour beef bone broth is so delicious, that I usually save some of it to have the next day even without the noodles or other toppings. The vegetarian egg rolls are *chef's kiss*. Everything on the menu (I've had most of it, all yummy) is made of high quality ingredients and there are no short cuts taken. Came here for the first time for lunch on a weekend with a friend. Ordered their Banh Hoi Bowl with tofu and their summer rolls appetizer. Total came to around $25. What's Hot - Quality. Pretty good. My noodle bowl was pretty delish. The sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. There were also freshly chopped veggies and some pickled veggies with the noodles, which added a nice flavor, freshness and crispness to the food. Their summer rolls are also pretty good, as well. Soft, chewy, and fresh. - Portions. Pretty good size portions to get myself and my friend full. They're not huge, so don't expect to have leftovers, but it's enough to get you full. - Price. Good value for money, given the quality, freshness, and portions of the food. - Health and safety. During this time of the pandemic, all their staff wore masks. There's also a clear plastic divider between the cashier and customer. It's always reassuring to see public places take extra precautions. - Food containers. Our dishes were served in cardboard food containers, which was nice, because it appears more environmentally friendly. From what I noticed, all their food, with the exception of their pho, are served in takeaway containers, which can be helpful. What's Not - Menu variety. Barely any vegan and vegetable options. I'm originally from California, where Vietnamese restaurants always have vegetarian and vegan options. I was shocked that there wasn't a vegetarian pho option with just tofu and veggies. No seafood pho, as well. What's up with that? This place has very limited options, which sucks. For example, my friend ordered the Banh Hoi Bowl, as well, which came with fish sauce. My friend is vegan, which meant there was no other sauce option for her noodles so she had to eat her noodles plain. Not good. - Seating. This place is mostly self-serve and self-seating, which isn't terrible. However, seating is already limited and it's not easy to find, which isn't helpful, especially during busy times. To be fair, my friend and I came at 12:30pm on a Sunday afternoon, so it was probably busier than usual. My friend and I had to cross our fingers that another table would finish in time for us to grab their table to have our lunch. Thankfully, a table did become available, but the situation isn't user-friendly. - Service. Because this place is mostly self-serve, it also means that it may be difficult to get what you need. For example, because my friend and I sat down at the first table that became available to us, the table wasn't wiped down. During the time my friend and I were there, I probably saw one staff wipe down a table. Other than that, I didn't see any of the tables wiped down in between customers. To be fair, it may be different when they're not busy. But be aware they may not be the most clean. Additionally, none of their tables have napkin holders, utensils, sauce, or anything ready on the tables. Been craving for some banh mi so came here for a try. Ordered online for pickup, which was straight forward but wished there were pictures in the ordering menu. This is a small spot with very limited parking in a small parking area. For drinks, we got: -avocado mint boba shake, which in our opinion could have done without the mint. While the mint add some refreshing flavor, it kind of steals away from the typical avocado shake flavor. -Matcha boba tea and taro boba tea, which was good but wish there was an option to replace boba with herbal jelly. For banh mi, we got: -Grilled lemongrass sirloin, which was the best banh mi we had over there. This was worth the money over the other two we had. We loved the lemongrass grill flavor and pairs well with the pickled vegetables and nice bread that do not flake off. The bread had good crunchy softness to it. Collectively, it was a good sandwich with good meatiness in every bite. -Grilled garlic prawns was not worth it, in our opinion. You get the least protein to sandwich ratio and the shrimp does not taste any special. -Sirloin kimchi banh mi was also not as great as the regular grilled lemongrass sirloin. The kimchi taste overpowers the taste of the rest of the sandwich, which should have been expected. We also got a green papaya salad with the house beef spleen jerky (Saigonese). You can switch out the jerky for other toppings but we wanted to try out the house jerky that it originally comes with. In our opinion, the jerky wasn't great tasting, which was to be expected for typical organ meats but some people may like that liver-like taste. The papaya salad itself was decent and has a good kick to it with the chili pepper. One thing I must say from reading other reviews here is the price is high for what you appear to get and it is easy to compare to other places. But the owner also justified the price saying they source fresh and chemical-free ingredients and I believe her. I personally shop for organic, fresh groceries and I know it comes with a high price. However, there is a 4% "kitchen fee", which is first I have heard of such fee and only learned about it after I paid. But having tried some of the foods, I think the best for the money here is the grilled lemongrass sirloin banh mi. Overall, I think the food is good if you pick the right toppings. If we were to come back, we would stick to the simple lemongrass sirloin banh mi. read more

Had the Sirloin kimchi banh mi (Banh Mi stuffed w/ grilled sirloin, cabbage kimchi, cucumbers, jalapenos, house aioli, cilantro, and chili fish sauce); a lemongrass sirloin banh mi; taro milk tea; and Vietnamese iced coffee.
