The broth here was very beefy. It's a good thing! Small dive, again a good thing. The iced coffee wasn't made table side and was a bit on the watery side of things. The noodles were pretty decent, but not that great. The summer rolls here are a no-go for me. The fish sauce was meh, but more than that the grilled pork was dry and chewy. I used to LOVE this place, always go there for the pho. But my last visit makes me never want to go back again. We only waited like 5 min our food already came out, this worried me and my worry came true. First the pho is super mushy, taste like recook. Then the broth that used to have great flavor is really bland, seems like they add some water to thin it out, plus it's not even hot! There are only few pieces of meat. I also order crispy spring roll, it's not crispy and very greasy, the dipping sauce is so thin, there's almost no flavor to it. Anyway, I don't know what happened to this place but it's nothing like before. The first time we came here, a woman dining solo told us, "You can't go wrong. Everything on the menu is fresh and really good." She was right. This place really does not skimp out on using fresh ingredients. The vegetables in the Vermicelli are always raw and fresh, never steamed. Pho was delicious and service amazing. I'm pregnant and asked that the meat be well done and broth extra hot for precaution. I didn't plan on eating the sprouts since raw sprouts are a listeria hazard but the nice young man offered to steam them for me so I could enjoy pho just how I like and worry free! We got some pho takeout from here. Everything was very good, with the exception of the beef broth with meatballs - the meatballs were not flavorful and had a weird texture. There was nothing particularly different about their pho, but it was of high-quality. They did have a nicely spicy green pepper in it that added a nice touch. I'd easily go here again. read more

a great quick lunch spot. the pho is good, but pho so 1 has better, however i dont always feel like just pho and the more diverse menu here brings me back. last time i went i had the ginger chicken...very nice. the BBQ meats are all fantastic. i do agree with another review that sometimes the spring rolls have too much herbal flavors, but most times i just love them. service is always quick and correct and it is convientently located right next to Tan A, where i often pop in and do some shopping on my lunch break. take out is available and is great for nights when i just want to stop in on the way home from work and pick up some food. i frequently take people who have thier not had vientamese food before, or who have only had Pho, here because the menu is fairly diverse and has several non spicy options in it for those who dnt get down with heat. read more

My friends and I discovered this place during our personal version of lent. The plan was to cut out meats and sweets from our diet. We would only consume the basics: vegetables, fruits, and rice for substance. Vietnam 1 made it more than bearable with their delicious fried rice and vegetable pho. In fact, the food was so delicious it felt like cheating! Everything smelled fresh and organic as if straight from the ground. I highly recommend this place. My friends and I are regulars. We actually come for the vegetables. I've only varied from my recurrent order once, and that was to try the Seven Seasons Grill--which was delicious as well. The prices are reasonable. I love this place and I have been coming here for years. I usually get the vegetarian crispy rolls and BBQ Tofu Vermicelli. It is a laid back place, if you order a Coke it will come in a can with ice in a glass. Otherwise you get iced water. It is so good I once sat at the door entrance table since there were no other tables and it was so cold. Freezing, and in the middle of winter, but worth it. read more

I recently went to Vietnam 1, and it was the biggest disappointment of my life. I woke up in the middle of the night to throw up 6 times and counting. I have been diagnosed with the stomach flu and I am 100% sure it was from the Pho I had recently eaten there. There were very few customers, but that should have not been an excuse to slack in quality. I will never go back to that Pho again, and this was the worst possible way to end my spring break.
