Crab & Shrimp Creamy Alfredo Pasta
    Tiff H.

The last time I visited the Municipal Market, it was called the Sweet Auburn Market. So... yeah it's been a LONG minute. We stopped in to explore since we were in the area and Vieux Caffe Bistro piqued my interest. It wasn't on Yelp (so I created the business page) and of course, I'm not even the first to review LOL. After perusing the menu, we ended up ordering a couple bites to share. We tried the crab & shrimp creamy Alfredo pasta which was addicting - I'm always down for pasta and there was a lot of crab and shrimp in the pasta. The gumbo was just ok, but was nice on a cold day. Definitely need to check out some of their specials next time I'm at the market!

Oh my gawd! (Insert church dance, then catches the Holy Spirit) They had me at no pork in the greens and the cornbread is sweet. So, I went on and ordered me a plate... or 3. I was famished after leaving the gym and scurried on over to Sweet Auburn Market. I perused around a bit and discovered this fine establishment. You know how it's said not to shop when you're hungry because you will end up with more than you need. Well, in this scenario that is nonsense. I needed all of it. Now I don't have to cook dinner tonight, tee hee. The food is seasoned well, cornbread is soft and sweet, and portions are filling. Worth every penny. I am fighting the itis while writing this. This place may become one of my go to's after my workouts. It's always a good sign when there is good music playing from the kitchen. Staff is friendly and accommodating as well. Thank you for feeding me good food, it uplifted my mood.

The coconut cream matcha and the cherry limeade were both delicious. For apps we did raw gulf oysters 100/10 and crab claws 10/10 the sauce on them was insane. I had catfish basket, the seasoning on the fries was great and the fish perfectly crispy outside with a soft meltiness to the fish. Tartar sauce tasted homemade. The crab legs were good with a little kick and very smoky flavor which brought out a bit of sweetness. For dessert the ube pie was 10/10 I love a good dessert that doesn't make me feel stuffed and ready to lay down and this was perfect Would absolutely go a million more times def recommend making a reservation

Inside is dimly lit with several tables, a large bar, and a furry staircase leading upstairs to another bar. Service was good and the drinks were strong. I ordered the Bayou Fog. The food was tasty but nothing special, more like a solid homemade sandwich with your favorite mayo. It's good and satisfying, just not unforgettable. I had the Seafood and Sausage Gumbo and a half Po' Boy called Bo Kho, and while both were enjoyable, they're items I could easily make at home. I'd go again if invited but probably wouldn't make a special trip. If you're curious, it's worth checking out for yourself. Parking is limited behind the restaurant, the lot across the street is for Mary Mac's, and street parking or the Park Mobile app may be your best option.

It is exciting to find a restaurant serving great Cajun food (probably my favorite cuisine)…read more They have all the dishes you'd expect from a serious Cajun restaurant. Multiple stuffed and topped redfish options, lots of crawfish, and plenty of dishes that require a roux (all things that lesser restaurants are clearly afraid, or unable, to offer on their menus). For me, most importantly, they have crawfish etouffee. Any other dinner items will have to wait till a future visit. It was terrific, made from a hearty roux, with lots of crawfish flavor. It was a more tomato-y variety of etouffee than I make for myself, but it was excellent in a different way (the tomato presence was good -- neither sour nor bland). Service is great, attentive but not obtrusive. Plus, they have live jazz music -- even though I was there too early for the live music, it's important to support restaurants that make the effort to have real musicians. Nearly everywhere in Atlanta has very kind people and very good food, but I will still try to stop by the Louisiana Bistreaux next time I'm visiting the friendly sweltering inferno that is Atlanta.

What a fabulous experience! D'juans has been on my list for a minute now so I'm glad I took some…read moretime to check them out. Located in Vinings in a plaza packed with awesome retail shops and restaurants, I drove past the building at first but when I found it, the sign stuck out immediately. When I entered I was immediately welcomed by a giantttt Mardi Gras mask. Super cool but possibly frightening at night after a few hurricanes. I visited on a random afternoon but there were still a few guests seated at the bar and around the restaurant. Kareem was my server and he was such a joy. I didn't really know what to order because everything really sounded amazing. Thanks to Kareem's recommendations, I ended up going with the Oyster trio, the gumbo and beignet bites. My order came out about 15 minutes or so later, piping hot and super fresh. Everything looked amazingggg! The oysters were all delicious but the spicy one was my favorite. The crab-stuffed oyster was fullll of crab but almost too filling for me, I struggled to finish it. But if that's my only "complaint", I think that says a lot lol. The gumbo was good, not my top fave but definitely tasty. Those beignet bites???? I could eat 3 baskets a day, by myself. They were so fluffy, sweet, a bit crunchy, omg. Fantastic. This was such a great experience from start to finish, I can't wait to go back and try some more of their menu and check out their specials.

It started off great with the warm welcome and service so I was that much more excited. Our server was nice and friendly and patient as some of us were indecisive about what to order, it all looked and sounded good. The drinks came out first and they were actually pretty good. Then the appetizer, which was the crab dip. It was soupy and came with only a few pieces of bread, not much crab. Then the entrees, gumbo, stuffed salmon, Mardi grass pasta, catfish, dirty rice and oyster trio. All were too salty. I love salt so if im saying it was too salty it's really bad. Some of us couldn't finish the dishes because the salt was overbearing. Huge disappointment. To make things worse, our server disappeared several times, so much so we had to constantly ask someone to find him. He was sitting at another table socializing most of the time, which was odd and irritating. I was so over it I didn't even bother to order the dessert I wanted to try. It was not as crowded as I would expect it to be on a Friday night and how it appears on TikTok, so that should've been a sign. And the fact that a 20% gratuity is forced upon us even with mediocre service is also frustrating. And quite frankly the menu prices are too high for the quality and quantity of food.
