Thanks to everyone on Yelp for recommending Viewpoint Brewing! We were in Del Mar for a conference and wanted to have a yummy dinner and check out some local beer - which led us straight to Viewpoint. We took an Uber from our hotel both ways, which was super easy for drop off and pick up. Viewpoint was busy, but with just two of us, we got a spot in a few minutes at a shared table. We had great service, delicious food, great recommendations from our server and we loved the atmosphere. We tried several different beers and our server suggested some too, thank goodness for Uber! We loved the Mexican Tornado, the Pit Stop Pils and the Ying Yang Amber. The food was incredible and we shared it all...which was good, because it was fun to share a few different things! We loved the meatballs and the bread as our appetizer, so yummy! The chicken pot pie was delicious and full of flavor - definitely my favorite, and the Flat Iron Steak was yummy, too! For dessert, we had the Banana Pie, as we were celebrating my husband's birthday! We LOVED Viewpoint - definitely would go back on our next visit! read more

I can't say enough good things about this spot! The food is incredible!l, I can't get enough of their pot Pie! The mac and cheese is perfect on its own, but you can add basically anything on their menu! Freddie was my server yesterday and remembered me after OVER a year and still gave amazing service! Super dog friendly and such a great environment. Not too loud and not quiet. It's a regular go to for me, and I neeeeeeed to try their brunch! read more

Pay for parking in gravel lot! Heads up, if you don't want to pay for valet, and you decide to park in the adjacent gravel lot (trailhead lot) make sure and pay. The signs are very small, very high and hard to see at night. It seems almost intentional, as the city of Del Mar is citing people like crazy. $54! Ask me how I know. . Besides that, the beer, food and service is great. We will be back. read more

Came here to meet up with my cousin and her family and it was really good. There is space for kids to run around and have fun which I appreciated. Their draft selection is really good, and their food is even better. I got the shrimp tacos and ate half of my kid's pancake order. The ambiance is super chill and relaxed, I could have been there all day without an issue. The staff is very nice and attentive. I will absolutely return. read more

Don't expect a laid back beach vibe here. You can expect a nice location, beautiful lagoon view, but unfortunately mediocre beer and food (horrible Mexican food), and a new management staff that thinks they're a fine dining experience. I grew up in the area and loved meeting my friends here from north and south for years! I'm guessing new owner or just new management but I'm never coming back to spend a dime here again! Pretty bummed. read more

This place is so good! The views are amazing, it's right next to the water, and there's even a little walkway around it to walk and view the water. Dogs are allowed too and it's such a nice relaxing pretty place! Our friend hosted her kids bday party here and they had the outside part with heated lamps along with the pretty views. She had about 40 guests and a balloon person attend and everything was run smoothly. We had 3 servers who did everything great!! And most importantly we're super patient! The food is so good! I wish I tried some brunch stuff! But we got all the lunch stuff. We got the burger, the fish tacos, the new item of the steak sandwich, the pear flatbread, truffle fries, the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese and chicken fingers from the kids menu. My favorite was the steak sandwhich it was cooked perfectly and had a lot of flavor, the bread was soft and the sauces it had blended perfectly! I loved the fish tacos as well, the slaw and sauce it came with was good (although I did ask for a side of their black spicy aoli and that was a better addition too), the fish beer batter was also very good and light! I'd recommend this too. I loved the pear flatbread bread (it had a little kick to it!) and the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese (we opted for adding bacon and it wasn't worth it, so little bacon smh. But u can add vegetables or pulled pork too!) The burger was ok, nothing super great I could skip on that and the kids chicken tenders was alright too. My kids didn't care for it. I really liked this place! Ordered the farmers burger which was delicious. As a vegetarian, it's always nice to see places that have bean-based patties and not impossible meat. I got my burger with truffle fries which were delicious. I did not like the ketchup which I feel was house made- it was very vinegary. My partner liked his burger too but disliked the ketchup. He ordered "Sprite" but was not convinced it was Sprite and maybe a lemon lime dupe. We ordered the ceviche which was amazing and had wonderful flavor. Could have used a few more chips. The burgers were very big so you'll definitely get your moneys worth. A couple things for feedback: we put a note in the reservation it was our anniversary but no one followed up about it or asked us if we were celebrating anything. The host didn't ask us preference for inside or outside seating. We would've preferred outdoors and seemed like there were tables out there. The parking situation is not ideal, it'll be $6-10. read more

Very kid and dog friendly. Definitely need reservations on the weekend! We went on a weekend and got last minute reservations for lunch. My husband and I shared steak and eggs and ordered it medium. We got our food and the steak was good until the last few pieces. It was almost rare but we didn't see it since it was the end pieces. We told our server and he said not to worry and will talk to the chef. We told him it's okay because we are getting full but he insisted. He brought out a brand new piece perfectly cooked. We thought he was so nice only to found out that we got charged for that extra piece when we got the bill. We didn't appreciate the lack of communication. If the sever told us that we will be charged, we wouldn't have asked for the piece since we were getting full. We spoke to the manager and he did end up taking it off the bill. But we had to wait because it was so busy. It would have been nice if the server told us rather than just charging us. Make sure to check your bill before paying! Otherwise the food and beer options are great! read more

Vacationing in CA., my friend and I were here last year 2023. Back in CA. again and this visit we came here for lunch twice. We really love this place to come chill, relax and enjoy the beers and food. The service is always good, very friendly and attentive. Both time, we came for lunch. Plenty of indoor and patio seating, plus dog friendly. First visit, we weren't super hungry so we split a Backyard Burger, the kitchen was nice enough to cut it in half for us. The Second visit, my friend wanted his own Backyard Burger LOL and I ordered the Avocado Chilaquiles, it was so good. We'll be back again in 2025! Atmosphere: lofty relaxing vibe, bright and airy. The ambience and food is great. The food was delicious. The side salad had a floral taste to it so it was a bit of a surprise. I ordered a lettuce wrap that came with a pulled pork and picked carrots and onions. It was refreshing. The steak and eggs was ordered medium but the last few bites came out super rare. We asked him to cook it some more. He said he needed to check if the chef can put it back in the oven and he was told that they dont put food already eaten back into the oven so he would bring a small side of steak. It was made perfect and was delicious. But when got my bill, I was surprised he charged us extra for the piece of steak. We were actually full by the time the food came out because we waited awhile so I would not have ordered it if I needed to pay for it. I mentioned something to the manager regarding this and he comped plate and the side. He apologized for the mistake and said he was goingnto talk to the server later. Beer was average, no interesting flavors in the 6 beers we had in our two flights. Food was terrible. Salad was lettuce only, with lemon juice and olive oil. Chicken sandwich was overwhelmed with curry sauce. Service was ok. We had to sit outside due to the excessively loud music inside. It was a pretty warm day, but getting colder by the second. To add insult to injury, we had to pay them 6$ plus tip to park in their parking lot. It won't happen again. read more

Came here for a birthday outing, our server was very helpful with drink selections and food recommendations. Our water bottle refills were also done in a very quick manner. I've never had a bad time at Viewpoint! My food order was forgotten this night and I received my food after everyone had finished. I honestly should have spoke up sooner but I just assumed my order took a little longer. BUT the server comped my meal. I also wasn't drinking so this was the only thing I had ordered. I ate my food when everyone else was done but how could I be upset when this sandwich was a masterpiece. When I close my eyes I taste this sandwich... I know I was just here but everyday I am tempted to drive back here and eat this sandwich again.... I love how this place overlooks the lagoon and the outdoor area is peaceful. Family friendly establishment, lots of kids running around it was very cute. there's also tables with fire pits in the center which really sets the mood for me. read more

Bright and airy interior and also exterior seat seating on the water, a Great date spot! The Bier list is lengthy and delicious, as well as the wine and drinks as well. Dinner entrées were big portions and Salads were great, also, our appetizers were delicious and plentiful. The service was great and the ambiance was nice-there's a relaxing view of the marsh. Many pet owners brought dogs, who happily sat on the seats (instead of the ground). My children liked their mac-n-cheese, but sadly us adults weren't happy at all with our meals. The Mushroom Flatbread had the texture of hard crackers. We didn't know that requesting "no cheese" also meant that there wouldn't be any sauce on it. So, it was dry and VERY HARD (the flat bread). We also ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, which sat on a brown gravy (beef?). The crust of the pie was flaky and cooked well, but the gravy didn't compliment it at all. Plus, the filling was dry (too many veggies/not enough sauce) and flavorless. Finally, the Sprite was flat! No, most people aren't ordering sodas here, but hey...the soda was like drinking sweet water. We won't return.... Unfortunately, we haven't been that impressed by the highly rated restaurants in Del Mar. ***Valet parking is required for $5. read more

Tried this place for my husband's birthday celebration with our friends and family . We had reservations for a party of 11 people. The place is nice, no parking though so you gotta valet. They were able to sit us pretty fast. We ordered lots of food and we were super disappointed after trying the food.Most of stuff we ordered didn't taste good or does have much flavor... Lunch at Viewpoint Brewing with the family = 10/10 vibes. We rolled up and the valet was already setting the tone--friendly, chill, and clearly loving life. No stress, just good energy right from the start. We didn't have a reservation, but the hostess worked some magic and got us seated in no time. Props to her for saving us from becoming hangry. Our server? Awesome. Friendly, helpful, and knew the menu like a pro. I went with the flat iron steak frites (no regrets) and paired it with not one, but two Penitent Man beers--because one just wasn't enough. The combo hit the spot. Between the food, drinks, cool vibe, and killer views, this place checks all the boxes. Definitely recommend Viewpoint Brewing--and yes, I'm already planning my return trip. read more

I attended a work function to welcome a new staff member and decided to have dinner at Viewpoint Brewing Co. in Delmar-Solana Beach. Parking is available in a dirt lot with rock pebbles surrounding the area. Payment is required for parking, but there is additional parking about half a mile away from the brewery. The hostesses were all nice and the area is nestled alongside the San Dieguito River. We sat on the outside patio and enjoyed watching fish jumping up and down in the river. This place is not too far from the Del Mar Fair as well. I ordered a local ale alongside the veggie burger. I was surprised by how tasty and flavorful the burger was. The veggies were crisp and fresh. On my way out, I noticed a series of lockers mounted on the wall with beer mugs bearing the names of what could be frequent patrons of the restaurant. read more

This brewery has been on my list for a while. Finally, I took the time to make a quick stop before meeting up with friends in San Diego. Had arrived around 1045am on a Saturday. There was no free parking onsite except valet. Luckily, there was a little parking space down the road in front of the lagoon. A very short walk to the brewery, which wasn't so bad. As I walked in, the hostess warmly greeted me then directed me to an outside bar with a beautiful lagoon view. I had ordered flight beers consisting of three flavors of my choice. Just Peachy, Bari's Passion, and Creme De La Creme were my choices. All fruity beers with interesting vibes. My favorite was the Creme De La Creme. It tasted like a Cream Soda. It was nice to just sit embracing in taking appreciating nature as I'm enjoying a few beers. Service was phenomenal provided by Ryan. Very nice and friendly prompt with any answers I needed. Thanks to him for the wonderful experience I had at the brewery. Put this on your list when you are in Del Mar. You won't be disappointed. read more

We had such a great experience. All the wait staff was so friendly. Poor things we really put them to the test as we moved table a couple of time. Started on the patio enjoying the view but decided to move in to a table so we could all talk easier and weren't in a row. I'm not the biggest beer person but everyone i was with was happy and I enjoyed their red wine blend from paso Robles. They even have a monthly mug club where you get to store your own special mug in a locker. Valet parking for $5 was also a great bonus. Head over and check them out read more

Had a farewell dinner with some friends after a workday. Nice location, beautiful view, and great food/drinks! The biggest turnoff for this place is the parking. It took the majority of our party 20+ mins each to find parking since the lot attached/next door are both small and fill up quickly. If you plan to park in their lot, be prepared to double park as about half the lot is dedicated to double parking. The brewery has a system to keep tabs on who blocks cars in so they can contact them if someone decides to leave, but if you plan to stay for a while you'll be fine. Aside from parking, everything else was great! Very spacious, outdoor seating. Lovely view of the water, the staff were nice, and everything we ate and drank was great! Perfect place to hang out with your friends and would definitely recommend for anyone in the Del Mar area. read more

Food was average but beer was good! Would come back here for the views and a drink. The restaurant itself is nicely kept. Plenty of seating and fresh air. The view is great! They do offer valet which we found to be cheaper than the nearby parking lots. Very pet and family friendly. They have casual bar seating overlooking the lagoon. Service was good. They kept coming around to help clear up dirty plates/check in. Food also came out fairly quickly. Although the food wasn't bad, we all agreed that it lacked some flavor and tasted pretty avg. We were a bit disappointed when we heard they no longer offered the banana pudding as a few of us had seen multiple photos on their yelp and it looked yummy. Super dog friendly! I was able to get up from the table and walk my dog on the path while waiting for our food. This place was really cool. At first I thought my GPS sent me to the wrong place, because it looked like a warehouse from the parking area. but realized quickly that once you walk through the doors, it opens up to a great restaurant with lagoon views. We ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich and a Korean steak sandwich. They were both wonderful!! The aioli sauce was spicy and awesome!! I loved my sandwich. Hubby got the Koran steak sandwich and it was delicious too. I also had the tangerine mimosa. Yumm!! The vibe there was great! Lots of people just enjoying the beautiful Sunday. The food was great, the place was awesome. But I only give it a 4 star because our waitress couldn't remember to bring me ketchup...and I asked her 3 times. She came by several times to ask if we needed anything, and 3 times I asked for ketchup. Each time she acted like it was the first time I requested ketchup, but still never got it. Needless to say, I left a bunch of French fries uneaten because I didn't get ketchup. They were great French fries too. So I was sad. And a little irritated!! read more

Beers were good. Although it took 30 minutes to get them. Service was beyond awful. Plenty of staff running around, but our server was usually MIA. Food was really bad. Got shrimp tacos and literally had 5 actual shrimp between two tacos. And way overcooked and rubbery. Won't be back. read more

I recently found myself in the middle of culinary nirvana at a dinner collaboration between Flying F Ranch and Viewpoint Brewery. Bryce and Allison Fender, the masterminds behind Flying F Ranch, are genuinely some of the sweetest folks on the planet. Now, you'd need a treasure map to locate Flying F because it's smack dab in the middle of nowhere. We embarked on a winding, hour-and-a-half-long journey from the Hyatt Regency San Diego, but let me tell you, it was a scenic route worth every twist and turn. The Fenders, they don't just invite you over; they make you feel like family. Picture this: they dragged out comfy couches and chairs right in the middle of a pasture, then dropped a dining table that could seat a small army of 40. The setting? Well, it was a sight for sore eyes - a dinner under the stars. It got a bit nippy, but they had a blazing fire and Viewpoint Brewery even rolled in with gas heaters. These folks thought of everything! And here's the kicker - this was their first rodeo, serving a true farm-to-table extravaganza right there on the farm. Now, let's talk about the Viewpoint team. Chef Dustin Karagheusian, Sous Chef Carlos Cardenas, Head Brewer Moe Katomski, and the big cheese himself, owner Charles Koll - they pulled off an epic culinary miracle. VIEWPOINT @ DEL MAR Viewpoint Brewing Co. was such an incredible experience and definitely somewhere I'd come back to again. Parking here is pretty limited, so valet is honestly the best option. The lot itself is super small, which explains why they mainly do valet parking, and it was only $6 per car. It was completely worth it because the restaurant is kind of tucked away in its own area, and finding street parking nearby would probably be difficult and involve a pretty far walk. The valet process itself was super easy and smooth. My friends and I had a 7:30 PM reservation for a party of four, and they seated us right on the edge of the restaurant near the fireplace with such a beautiful view overlooking Del Mar. The ambiance here was honestly amazing cozy, lively, and packed on a Friday night without feeling overwhelming. Since this place is known for their brewing and beer selection, my boyfriend tried a bunch of their beer samples and ended up really liking the Hop Cano Hazy IPA. We also started with the shrimp ceviche, which was super creamy and flavorful. The chips that came with it were honestly addicting I could've eaten an entire bowl myself. For my entrée, I got the fish and chips because I was craving seafood, while my boyfriend ordered the mushroom burger. I took one bite of his burger and it was genuinely one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was super juicy, flavorful, and perfect if you love mushrooms like I do. Next time I come back, I'm definitely ordering that instead. My fish and chips were also really good crispy and fresh and I upgraded the fries to the truffle fries for an extra $3, which was definitely worth it. The absolute star of the meal though was somehow their homemade ketchup. It was honestly one of the freshest and most flavorful ketchups I've ever had. I loved it so much that I asked for extra with my to-go box because it was just that good. I do wish the truffle fries had a little more Parmesan, parsley, or maybe a garlic aioli, but they were still delicious overall. The staff were super friendly, the food and drinks were amazing, and valet made everything really convenient. I've been to a lot of breweries in my time, but Viewpoint Brewing Co. in Del Mar, California is one of the best. The beer is top-notch, the food is amazing, and the location is simply stunning. I started my meal with one of their hazy IPAs (beer), and I was blown away. additionally, when I was there, they had the Don Prickles IPA a hoppy delight, the Strawberry Belgian Blonde, a refreshing and fruity treat, and the CBC Cream Ale, a perfect example of a classic American style. For my main course, I had the burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The patty was cooked to perfection, the bun was soft and fluffy, and the toppings were all fresh and delicious. I also had a side of truffle fries, which were perfectly crispy and flavorful. After my meal, I had a glass of wine, and I was again impressed with the selection. The wine list features a wide variety of wines from California and around the world, and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful in making recommendations. In addition to the great food and beer, Viewpoint Brewing Co. also has a beautiful location. The brewery is located in a former auto shop, and the interior has been beautifully converted into a spacious and airy space. There's also a large outdoor patio with stunning views of the San Dieguito Lagoon. Overall, Viewpoint Brewing Co. is one of the best breweries in Southern California. The beer is excellent, the food is amazing, and the location is simply stunning. If you're ever in Del Mar, be sure to check it out. As a local, I can tell you that Viewpoint Brewing Co. is a hidden gem. It's not as well-known as some of the other breweries in the area, but it's definitely worth seeking out. We have been loyal customers of Viewpoint Brewing Company, always making it a point to stop by when we're in Del Mar for soccer. The food has always been fantastic, and the beer selection is top-notch. Until now, we've never had a reason to question the experience--unfortunately, that changed with our recent visit on June 7th at 12 PM. We initially arrived with a group of eleven and were seated without issue. However, as our party grew to fourteen, we requested to use an empty table next to us to accommodate everyone. We were immediately denied, with the excuse that it was reserved--yet throughout our entire visit, that table remained empty, as did several other large tables in the restaurant. When we asked about sitting at the high-top tables near the bar, we were refused again. Instead, we were forced to scatter--adults awkwardly seated at the bar while the kids remained at our original table. The most frustrating part? The dismissive and combative attitude of the staff. The hostess was outright rude, treating our request like an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to provide good service. The manager, instead of offering any solutions, came across as arrogant and indifferent. It's a shame that such poor hospitality overshadowed what has always been a great dining spot for us. While the food and beer remain excellent, the unwelcoming service is enough for us to take our business elsewhere in the future. read more

I ordered both the backyard burgers and breakfast sandwiches, and they were hands down some of the best I've ever tasted. We recently visited Viewpoint Brewery with my daughter's soccer team in between games. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even with our large group. Our waiter, Jesus, went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of--he rearranged tables for us and made excellent recommendations for both food and drinks. I highly recommend the Penitent Man IPA; it's a wonderfully hoppy, bitter, yet smooth brew. As for the food, the grilled fish tacos were outstanding, fresh, and flavorful. The location is also fantastic, situated near the Del Mar Horse Tracks. If you choose to sit outside, you'll be treated to a beautiful view of the bay. Overall, Viewpoint Brewery is a great spot for groups, and I recommend giving it a try if you're in the area. read more

I was incredibly disappointed with my experience here. On a busy Saturday with at least 20 dogs present, the manager rudely approached me and told me I needed to "take my dog for a walk" because she was being disruptive. In reality, she had barked maybe 2-3 times in a span of 20 minutes and then settled down--hardly disruptive given the already loud environment. The manager claimed that people complained, which I find hard to believe considering the overall noise level and the number of dogs present. Instead of handling the situation reasonably, we were promptly escorted to a table outside. The way this was handled felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. If you're looking for a dog-friendly spot that actually welcomes dogs, I'd suggest going elsewhere. read more

The Viewpoint Brewery has it all... great food and beer, great views, relaxing environment, all details covered such as music and warm blankets, and an efficient and friendly staff. The best part is the outside game area with corn hole and other fun, sporty games. The even better part is that it is a dog-friendly brewery! I had my business anniversary party there and the feedback from the attendees was all super positive and top notch on the beer and food! The portions were generous, the organization of the event went smoothly and the cost for 100 people was very very reasonable. Impressions upon pulling up are a little lackluster but the moment you step inside and see the sweeping views across the inlet combined with the thoughtful design... you rest easy knowing the next 1.5+ hours is going to be great. Food is exceptional in general but for a brewery it's just insane. My wife (who is not a brewery person) was raving the entire night about how great the place was. We had eight 4 adults and 4 kids... service was spot on... beer was on point... table was great. I have nothing but good things to say. Keep doing it right Viewpoint. We'll be back next time we're swinging through the San Diego area. read more

This place has wonderful vibes and a beautiful view. They have a great selection on tap which looked like most of it was brewed in-house. But I got the fried chicken sandwich which was dry, overcooked, without much flavor. There was a black garlic aioli chick seemed to be nonexistent. If you are in the Del Mar area or at the fairgrounds/race track, you have to visit Viewpoint Brewing Company. You won't be disappointed. Plus it's a great spot for a date! read more

Had a work dinner at Viewpoint Brewery and it was a great for a larger group dinner. It was spacious with nice views and perfect for a relaxed casual dinner. Service was super friendly and on top of things, even with a bunch of us. Food was solid too and the beer selection all were great. Only downside is the small dirt parking lot. Definitely easier to Uber if you're going with a group. All in all, a chill spot for good food, good vibes. read more

I used to live in Cardiff by the Sea, so I had to check this place out when a friend of mine recommended while living in SD for a bit. Great place for a date! Nice atmosphere, near the ocean, and next to what I believe is a lagoon separating the brewery and the swanky Del Mar Racetrack. Good drinks and food! Hard to go wrong here. My wife, my daughter and I ate lunch there today (7/19/2026). We stopped in for a bite before we went to the Delmar Races. When we got to the parking lot at the races my wife noticed her brown hat that she planned to wear at the races was gone. The ONLY person who could have taken the hat was the valet. This hat was only worth $30ish. So if the valet will steal this hat...they will steal anything. read more

Great food , service, beer and location. One BIG problem. Lack of shade from the blazing sun. Management not willing to make available a shaded table to accomodate our party of 2, more concerned with a potential larger party to arrive. (No reserved signs on tables) We dined from 11:30 - 1:00, would have stayed for another beer, but could not tolerate the sun. Not the best business model. read more
