Hosted my birthday here the past weekend for about 30 people and it was so fun! Brenton was super responsive and nice in helping me book the space. It was my first time coming here so I didn't know what to expect but the vibes were great, drinks were strong and delicious and the music was so good too! We even ordered a couple boxes of pizza with the bartender which hit the spot after a couple hours of drinking. Highly recommend this spot for any parties and will definitely be coming back for a night out! read more

Came here after work on a Tuesday night. A very chill place to grab a drink and meet up with friends. It wasn't crowded when I came in so we were able to grab seats by the bar easily. Ordered $400 worth of drinks and not one person in the party was tipsy. I was genuinely surprised reading the reviews here that people say the drinks are strong. I personally had 1 margarita, and 3 cafe pinas. I'm also Asian, and any trace of alcohol that touches my lips, turns my face red. I was pale af. Unsure what's going on, idk what we did as a group for them to rip us off, essentially, but will def not be going back! Hate to give a business a low rating during these times, but shouldn't I also say something if it's unjust? Other than the drinks, the place and set up was nice and cozy; I like the couches in the back. Edit: Hey Brenton, really appreciate the reply. I'll remove this review, but it still doesn't change the fact we all left sober after spending over $400 :( I'm glad to hear nothing was done differently to our drinks. We were there for as long as we did because we were trying to cross that line from sober to at least, tipsy; didn't reach there. The fact that it was raining and cold and not knowing where else to go also didn't help. I personally hadn't had a meal since 4pm, so the fact I left there completely sober after four drinks was disappointing and weird, knowing I'm also a complete lightweight. However, maybe it is my lack of knowledge of ABV's, so knowing that now, probably shouldn't have ordered it. People go to bars to get a little tipsy and drunk, right? Came to big because a friend hosted a book/toy holiday event here. It's a very small but intimate place, definitely somewhere you can take a date for drinks. There's a separate back room which we stayed in, which seems like a great spot for small events in general. They have a pretty good happy hour here. $4 for some beers. $5 for well drinks, and a few other options. There's is no card minimum which is great. Bartender made my whiskey sour extremely strong, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you ask. Later in the day, a ugly sweater bar crawl passed through and it was extremely overwhelming for the 2 bartender. It was super crowded and having only 1 bartender was a terrible mistake. read more

The DJ felt & interacted with the crowd. Although mixed crowd, most of us seem to be in our late 20s & 30s. So gave us hip hop music from past and present, threw some popular Spanish songs in there too. We were standing, dancing, singing/rapping, and drinking-the whole time vibing to his DJ playlist. The bartenders were attentive and fast behind the bar. Drinks were pretty strong. Not sure if this place is this fun every night, but based on this night, I will come back. read more

The Vig is a L-shaped cool lounge bar with low sofas and intimate booths, ideal for a happy hour in Nolita or a after dinner drink. A less crowded than its famous neighbor Sweet and Vicious. It's also a lot less pretentious than most places in the area and while it's popular as an after work drink destination I would say is a perfect spot for an after dinner or some catching up with friends Decent prices and friendly staff add to the laid back vibe. Has a hell of a strong pour. Also super knowledgeable about the city as he is a New York Native. P.S. The menu online isn't the most up to date. I hear the place gets lit on Wednesdays. It's pure accident that I appear to be a regular / the duchess of this place. It just happens to be in the stomping ground radius of my cousin's apt and has never been too crowded to stop thru for a quick dance on the two Fri nights I've been. First, there's no door drama, which would be ludicrous for the venue and area. Second, the drinks are not too pricey. But to be honest, I can't remember if I've ever paid for my own yet here, so fellas will have to chime in for themselves on that regard. Third, the music isn't noticeably amazing, but it ain't half bad, and so I always end up getting into a few songs before the crew decides to move on to the next venue. They play like top 40 hits from my college years (mid-00s) with some random old school MJ and such thrown in, which for me is nostalgia-central. Ladies, I haven't found a good place to stash purses and jackets other than the seating areas, so keep the tote-ables to a minimum. On the bright side, the dudes have outnumbered the ladies whenever I've gone on Fri nights, so place your bets! read more

The waitress was HORRIBLE. very mean and ignored us for subtle requests, which is ridiculous I mean isn't there always a 20% gratuity added and how is it justifying to pay that mandatory fee when the waitress literally looks like she hates her job and do not want to be bothered at all. I mean dont get me wrong, she took out the bottle and the mixers and the glasses. But you expect that from buying a bottle service, i just was not too impressed with the service here. Came here for a birthday soirée. It's a nice little watering hole and the drinks were made well. I had a "Whiskey River Take My Mind" from their specialty cocktails before switching to beer and a Jameson. They only serve drinks so eat before or after going there. Nice ambiance/space but if you're in the seating areas it could feel a little dark depending on your threshold for light. The music selection was the highlight for me. They played a lot of original soul classics that were sampled in popular hip-hop tracks. It's a safe bet for a decent drink. read more

Hopping from place to place looking for a cool spot to dance, my friends and I stumbled upon this bar because of the music we heard blasting from the outside. The only issue was that the bar was just about empty on a Friday night. The dj was playing some good music up until a few minutes after we walked in. The cocktail drink selection is interesting except my friend ordered a spicy margarita which tasted horrible (even the other bartender agreed). The beer list is nothing to be excited about but the bartenders were cool and attentive. I choose bars and restaurants based solely on their outdoor dining setup and this one is perfect. They have heat lamps over every table and an enclosed wooden structure to protect from rain and snow.
