Slightly more affordable, 1000% more honest, and friendly. I worked with Tom and don't rember names of people who did the work but everything was great. If you want an extra box of flooring make sure you ask for it before they deliver the wood/laminate/vinyl for your project or you may need to pay shipling for it.

When our puppy did too many accidents in our upstairs area, we replaced the hallway and master bedroom with Kardean Luxury Vinyl Tile. At the time, Exploring Flooring did not glue down LVT and only had the lock down type, so we used another company. We love the livability and washability of Luxury Vinyl Tile. Our friend who installs these floors commercially recommended the Kardean brand and to do the glue down version. He was spot on. Recently, I had a measuring done to either refinish our downstairs cherrywood floors or cover them with Kardean vinyl. Tom came out right away but got confused as to my email address. I think they need a company email address, because we played a bit of email tag trying to communicate. Some things that I wonder about. The other company that came out was willing to fix up some not so great areas with new cherrywood trim--ie around half bath vanity that has bare gap areas at bottom and fp that has a very large gap around it (EF said for me to use some type of expandable filler but I think that will be ugly in a inch or more gap). EF also said they don't install new quarter round trim around floor which is a nice touch another place does as standard. You could always hire it out, I suppose. The cherrywood trim pieces is more of an issue for me. Exploring Flooring's quote for refinishing our cherrywood is around $900 less than the other place, so I guess it equals out. The other place wanted $5400 for about a 530 square foot area, so I thought that was a bit pricey. Exploring Flooring is $4500. As far as luxury vinyl quote to glue down Kardan on top of the hardwood, I'm still waiting, but the quote to float Kardean tile on top of the existing floor (an option, but not my fav) is the same as the other company. However, no particular type of Kardean is mentioned, even though I requested the quote on Tergo. All in all, a bit of a hassle to get specifics, but may be a great option overall, if overall pricing is better.

The company's name should have been our first red flag--"Trend Carpet & Tile" doesn't even mention hardwood floors, which isn't their specialty. My advice: look elsewhere. We worked with Sarah, the daughter of the owner, who lives in our neighborhood. She was not helpful when I first reached out with concerns. She told me their floors had a one-year warranty and there was nothing they could do. I then asked her to involve the flooring product company to inspect the floors, and invited her to come see the issue in person, as she had only seen photos. She never followed through. I suggested that the product they used might be defective, as the problems had worsened over the last year, but no action was taken. To make matters worse, we began noticing issues just 90 days after installation similar to what we see now. The installer, Andrew, dismissed our concerns and claimed it was normal. However, the problems continued to get worse. Sarah from Trend blamed our household for using a Roomba, having pets, and having children, all of which she claimed caused the issues. I told her that whatever products they used weren't durable enough for a typical household if that is what did the damage. She even went as far as blaming our use of Bona Floor Cleaner, which is non-toxic and widely recommended product with no complaints that I could find showing it damaged floors. Trend Carpet & Tile never specified the duration of their warranty or provided guidance on what floor cleaners to use or avoid. I never expected to need a floor refinishing just two years after installation! The photos clearly show that 30-40% of the floors look like now. They have large greyish/white patches where the finish has failed or warn off prematurely. These issues are not caused by a Roomba or cleaning products, but by a faulty product that Trend Carpet & Tile isn't want to stand behind. The VP of the company, Sara, was rude and only friendly when there was a sale to be made or a check to be collected. She seemed more focused on attracting new customers than resolving issues with existing ones. Despite their website "Customer Satisfaction statement" they did nothing to make things right with us. Buyer beware!!

They arranged for someone to come out to measure for the needed piece and installed it as soon as it was available. It was a pleasure dealing with Peter and his staff for such great customer service. We were so impressed by DeSitter's customer service! The…read morecarpet we ordered turned out to be flawed. Although it was marketed specifically as good for homes with pets, stains couldn't be cleaned. When we tried, we ended up with an even darker stain. DeSitter sent the cleaners they use to try to clean it, at no cost. The cleaners couldn't spot-clean it either. They were so perplexed that Steve DeSitter himself came out to look at it. Everyone agreed that this carpet was a lemon. DeSitter asked the manufacturer to replace it. The manufacturer refused. The cleaning problem kept recurring. So DeSitter contacted the manufacturer again to challenge their decision - and this time the manufacturer agreed to replace it! DeSitter sent their excellent installers to remove the flawed carpet and install the new one. We've had no pet accidents yet, but our fingers are crossed. They also gave me a $50 gift certificate. I can't imagine a big box retailer sticking with a problem like this. I will for sure use DeSitter next time we need flooring or carpet!

When our budget didn't allow the tile floor of our choice, he suggested an alternative, which turned out to be a better choice. Martin's crew were fantastic as well. They were punctual, polite and hardworking. They arrived on time and finished the work in much shorter time than expected. The flooring material we chose was CoreTec - it's is so beautiful and we couldn't be happier! It looks like natural material but unlike the real thing, they are not cold, so we can walk barefoot no problem, even in the dead of winter like right now! I highly recommend Terrace Floor Covering and CoreTec tiles (their website has a cool tool to see how the floor would look in your home and it was spot on!)
