This cafe is truly like the name a little Paris. So clean and well decorated to show the theme. There are many different food options and the pricing is very reasonable but we really came on a mission for traditional beignets. And to our luck they had New Orleans style beignets we started with a 1/2 order that comes with 5 but needed up ordering another 5 for the road as I knew I wouldn't be able to get them again. They are thick but airy at the same time I am so pleased we stopped by! 5 out of 5 We also got a latte and this isn't like your American one that has a ton of sugar but stronger on the coffee side and was well done. Great food but the service is terrible. We were an order for two with a half order of beignets and two sweet crepes. We had three people who came in after us get their meals before us. They definitely forgot our order because we had to reach out to them to finally get it 15 minutes later. Overall they need staff that actually will help, because the food is really good. read more

We wanted to try a new place for breakfast today so we picked this one. It was a mistake but if you don't try you don't know. It's laid out much like Jersey Mike's in Clear Lake. A shotgun room where you order in line at a counter and they bring it to your table. But, unlike Jersey Mike's they have benches along the wall lined with tables for two -- I'm not a fan of this arrangement. We got a eggs, waffle & bacon. The waffle was overcooked. I use an ample amount of syrup and didn't care for the taste of their syrup. The eggs were OK, as was the bacon if sparse. And, the coffee was good. Tastes kinda like an Etoufee inside of a crepe. I also had the Beignet fingers - amazing as well, they don't taste good reheated so share, trust me, it doesn't pay to horde these. Unless you can eat all 2,000 calories of it. But then you might get instant diabetes so that won't pay off either. Instant diabetes? Yeah that's science based, you can trust this review. What a hidden gem right dab in the middle of a shopping center. Had it not been for an invite I would have never discovered this little place that will be seeing me a lot more! Menus may seem small, but it has a little bit of something for many palates. I came in at 12:30 pm and ordered the omelette, nothing fancy just eggs, ham, cheese etc. looked simple and it was unlike any other omelette I've tasted. It had the feel of a crepe but with eggs and stuffing. I'm lactose intolerant therefore I usually omit all cheese from my omelettes, this time I chose to keep the original recipe intact. What a surprise, the omelette was made with minimal cheese to allow you to actually taste all the ingredients and not be overwhelmed by cheese. That's a BIG plus for me. I also ordered the Classic croissant with ham and egg for dinner (Later). Took one small bite for taste, the croissant literally exploded in my mouth from the layers of dough. Wonderful croissant. For a drink I ordered a hot coco, didn't bother to ask if it was made with milk. Let's just say that Starbucks nor McDonalds coco taste any where near as creamy and delicious as their hot coco. My friend took a sip of mine and ordered one to go. Last but not least we had the Romanoff sweet crepes with strawberries. What a lovely little place to have right around the corner from my home. I placed a Togo order for breakfast on a weekend morning. The food took about 15-20 mins to be prepared, and I felt everything was fresh and watched them make the majority of the items as I waited. We ordered a plain waffle, scrambled eggs, a bacon egg cheese croissant, and an order for beignets. Everything tasted great, and high quality. While there's little that annoys me more in the business than a restaurant that's not open at advertised hours, hearing before I about-faced from the doorway that this bona fide French crêperie was five days away from actually opening, was enough to make me forget completely and bid the friendly staff "À bientôt !" While France is renowned for fancy, high-class cuisine, its prices tend to match its reputation and its authenticity outside of its homeland, not as much. Yet in a froyo-size diminutive modern setting, perhaps the sweet spot between unpretentious and délicieux might be struck, in the very culinarily undeveloped League City of all places. With my after-church with the youth group plans abandoned, I arrived alone seven minutes before soft opening, "Waiting for Godot" to open the padlocked front door at noon sharp. After another 86 seconds and prodding from a family of three in line behind me, the doors gave way and we spent 10 minutes while the beta-test kitchen was "buffering," perusing the menu focused on sweet and savory crêpes, beignets, and waffles. The still irresolute and inexperienced, but very helpful and kind staff include the Houston-ubiquitous Hispanics and Vietnamese, enhancing a core French menu with creative and appropriate fusion touches like Mexican omelets, Vietnamese coffee, and the dulce de leche slathered onto a breakfast waffle imbued with the green shade of Southeast Asia's answer to vanilla, the pandan leaf. Yet given that the head chef is French (Normandy, specifically), I tested his mettle by ordering the bœuf bourguignonne savory crêpe, my favorite French dish and the one I ate the most often in France proper. The crêpes were swiftly cooked on a circular griddle in plain view, a rotating spatula spreading a thick scoop of batter thinly onto the full surface area and then flipping it around to swallow the tripartite filling - mozzarella, sautéed mushrooms, and then a scoop of the world's greatest beef stew. After a couple of incisions in the folded crêpe so that it would wrap like a tamale, it was served up alongside a sparkling fresh mesclun salad on an elegantly curved platter, dotted with an extra spoonful of the gravy like a painter's monogram. While I am not really a fan of the standard-issue mozzarella or button mushrooms, preferring Gruyere or shiitake mushrooms, the beef was serviceable enough and the gravy subtle, the shell and complicated folding technique sturdy enough to dam the gravy. Perhaps the time it took to find the correct tools and platter to plate the crêpe made the batter a little firm, but it softened up nicely in the gravy and proved satisfying, and the salad was delightfully simple and worth the extra dollar (at least according to the menu price of $10, though the price at the register was $8 before tax). Yet the Vietnamese-French crossover actually proved more impressive, the Vietnamese iced coffee arriving in a cute Taiwanese bubble-tea plastic cup with the type of straw that can puncture its way out of its own packaging and proving very refreshing while keeping roots in its French origin, and the pandan waffle being the undisputed star of the visit. Dulce de leche with vanilla ice cream is the next undiscovered dessert treasure, the much-improved cousin of the Hershey's hot fudge sundae and melding beautifully with the sliced fresh bananas and strawberries, delicate whipped cream, and pale-green griddled waffle that would put any breakfast chain to shame. It's the sort of creation that can only come out of a kitchen without preconceived ideas and still finding its way, and unlike a previously reviewed Thai restaurant, a fusion concept that hits a home run as surely as Altuve in the ninth inning. The prospect of another big hit made me strongly consider making a seventh-inning stomach stretch for a sweet crêpe, perhaps the Apple Pie to test the owner's Normandic heritage and compare it to the tremendous Calvados apple crêpe I ate in Bayeux, even the best sales "pitch" could not ultimately overcome the "mound" of food I had already eaten and I called it a "ball game" for now, knowing I would be back sometime in the near future with more company. I thanked the owner Jean profusely in my shaky French, making out as best as I could in his gravelly accent amidst the rapidly lengthening line of abuzz customers that he thought they were doing very good work. And I concurred, that for a first day, Le Petit Paris has a lot of the pieces perfectly in line. The savory crêpe is just about enough food to make a formal light meal at a reasonable enough price, yet as a dessert and coffee joint, it is slightly pricier but excels even more. The menu will expand after full opening begins, including a French mushroom soup shown on the video screens. Parisian haute cuisine it won't ever be, but Houston needs this kind of humble, unassuming French cuisine with the city's own signature cosmopolitan stamp. read more

We have been trying to visit different restaurants around our area to make sure we are not missing a hidden gem and I think we found one. This was my birthday breakfast and I wanted something sweet. My husband had the ham and egg croissant sandwich and he was not crazy about the type of ham used (looked like cubed ham). I had the bacon and egg sandwich and really enjoyed it, even though I would have enjoyed more if the croissants were fresher. Then we shared a crape Romanoff and that was fantastic.
