Only thing is my toes have been chipping kinda easily with the polish so I think they need to invest in a new top coat. Otherwise great. I LOVE Villa!! There's rarely a wait here, even on a busy Saturday when there's a ton of ladies waiting for their weekly mani/pedis. There's not too much of a difference from the actual nail services here than other salons in the area, but the massages set them apart from the rest. SUMMARY: Super relaxing and a beautiful job on polish! FULL STORY: I came here quiiiite a few times when I used to have more time for spa services...! Staff always seemed VERY helpful and considerate... felt like they really wanted everyone to have a comfortable, relaxing experience from beginning to end. The salon is beautiful and clean. I usually went near the end of the day, so might have been less busy at that time... was never there when it was super crowded. Seemed like everything was cleaned well (i.e., cleaned and UV disinfected), but I guess the risk of pseudomonas lurks at any nail salon. I liked the selection of polish options (Essie, OPI, all the usual suspects), and that they seemed new or well-maintained. Manicure/pedicure were both really good in terms of treatment/prep/polish. Never felt rushed. I always choose normal polish, because I like the smooth, flush look instead of the "plump" gel look... so can't comment on Shellac service. And I'm not into massages, so no opinion on that... Maybe a little pricier than similar salons nearby, but I do think the price was reasonable and service was worth it! I went here to get my calluses removed to get ready for summer. This is the first time I have had this done, so I didn't have any prior experience. A man greeted me here and started soaking my feet. After, he took some kind of tool (pumice) and started rubbing my heels very hard and rough. Before long, there was an actual bleeding CUT on my heel. I couldn't even walk out of the store, but rather had to limp so as not to put pressure on this injury. I was in complete disbelief (and pain). Be warned. read more

I moved to CT about a year and a half ago and wasn't sure which nail place to go too considering there are quite a few in the area! I also was looking for a place to get eyelash extensions which to be honest is hard.. everyone has a different style, I haven't been pleased by several places my mom and I have tried. We finally came across villa nail spa, and I will never go anywhere else as long as I live here. They are professional, personable, talented, and do an amazing job in everything they offer. I have never gotten a better set of eyelash extensions.. not only in Ct, but when I lived in Utah they didn't do all that great either. The lady who does my eyelash extensions is "Miki". She is meticulous, hard working, kind, and does an exceptional job. I've had long eyelashes by her, shorter ones, thicker ones, thinner ones, I usually have to mess around with my options to see what I like. She is always happy and eager to listen to my input about what I like best! She paints my nails beautifully, and is always making sure I'm satisfied with what's done that day. Every time I walk in, or even call, they recognize me, and do everything they can to be accommodating. I have had to reschedule so many times, and they have always been so understanding and helpful. I didn't realize this until after I started coming to the nail spa, but they happen to be my neighbors!! Great neighbors, wonderful people, hard workers. I loved this place....until I went and spent 85.00 on a pedicure and gel polish. I didn't have any extra cash on me so i told the nail tech that I was going to the bank to get cash for her. I have previously had fantastic experiences at Villa Nail Spa, so when I made an appointment for a gel manicure and a pedicure I expected nothing less than excellence. My pedi was amazing- I actually upgraded to the Mini Spa and it was so relaxing that I nearly fell asleep! My manicure, however, does not live up to my expectations. I chose a red gel polish, but the color is very light over my lunula and darkens as it approaches the tips of my nails. It looks absolutely ridiculous. When you spend that much money, you expect high quality results. I will be returning to have it fixed. read more

The best nail salon around. Villa nail spa is the place to go. It is very clean, nicely decorated, and most importantly, gives great manicures and pedicures. My favorite technicians are Tiger and Sophia- but honestly everyone is pretty darn good! The pedicures are consistent- always get a long leg massage. My favorite part is the complimentary 10-minute back massage while your nails are drying. I have tried other salons in the area- and they just don't compare. This nail salon is absolutely terrible! I came there very highly recommended and traveled to them from Branford because they do NexGen nail powder. The first week I went it lasted me 3 weeks! Then I was like wow this is great..second time I went I had someone else and it only lasted One week..I thought ok well maybe that was a fluke let me give them one more try..I went back and made a comment and then they totally blew it off...that was on a Tuesday and then my nails were bubbling and chipping by Saturday! So finally I went back and explained I wanted it taken off and I would like the regular gel, clearly I am not going to pay extra for something that is inconsistent, again no response. I got the Regular Gel on a Monday and by Wednesday my nails were breaking and chipping!!! So finally I had it! I called to speak to the manager "she was not in". I explained my frustrations to the guy and he said come in we will fix everything i am very sorry. I said I really want the NexGen because that is the whole reason I came here and If it is done right I would have stayed with that! He said ok ok no problem! So I arrive Friday and I go in and he's like oh yes we are going to fix one of your nails I said excuse me? I said NO you said you were going to do the NexGen he said oh no we have to charge you full price! I said that is NOT what you told me! So then I asked why did it last 3 weeks and then every other time its very inconsistent. He had the audacity to tell me maybe I went on vacation and took a break from my nails! I could NOT help but laugh in his face! I said listen I have no problem paying the difference for the NexGen but I want a credit for the gel that lasted 2 days at that! He argued me telling me I will need to pay full price. Finally I said ..ok I will have the gel re-done. He said ok go pick the color.. so I came back with a grey color..he jumps down my throat and then says he will need to charge me the full price if I change the color!! Gel is Gel correct???!! So I finally said look you are absolutely ridiculous I am out of here and will NEVER return! He said ok fine bye! They should be ASHAMED!! Very unfortunate. ***** follow up since I cannot comment back to the owners response!! You NEVER gave me a free gel manicure and I have all my receipts!!!! NexGen is supposed to last two weeks at the least!! Nevermind a gel manicure that lasted two days! Whether my nails are weak or not the gel will hold up! I think it is time to stop being dishonest and own your mistakes. It looks worse on your business. Again, I will never be returning and Will be sure to never recommend this salon to anyone I know!! The first two times I came for a pedicure the service was outstanding! The nail tech took her time and did a thorough job. She was such a delight. Today, the service I received was much different. The male nail tech did a rushed job. My heels still feel rough, my nails were not filed evenly and my polish had to be redone on one of my toes. I have leftover polish on the sides of my nails as well. I also asked for a manicure. Before coming here, I got the pink and white gel taken off of my nails. I felt like I needed another manicure to file more of the gel off, to make my nail beds smoother. My manicure, like my pedicure, was rushed. I felt as if I was an inconvenience to this nail tech. I didn't even get a polish on my nails! All in all, I paid $50 for a rushed job. I was charged extra to take off my pink and white, which was previously taken off at another salon. For someone who gets their nails done every two weeks, I have no problem paying for outstanding service. But today, the $50 I spent on a regular pedicure and no polish manicure was an absolute rip off. Ripping customers off does not buy you business. Today's visit was far from relaxing. I'm sad to say this will be my last time at Villa. read more

I go to Villa from time to time when I have the extra $ (it's a little more expensive than some other salons in the area) but i've always had a great experience. Since the re-opening of salons in CT, Villa made me feel extremely comfortable going out to get my nails done. They took my temperature as soon as I walked in, require everyone to wear a mask, and sanitized my hands as soon as I sat down. They also have plexi-glass partitions between you and the technician and the other customers. A lot of the techs were wearing face shields in addition to their face masks as well. My nails turned out amazing, and everything was very clean. If you're hesitant about returning to a salon, I suggest going to Villa before anywhere else. You get what you pay for, so spending a little extra money to me is completely worth it when I know i'm going to get great results and be in a clean and cautious facility, especially during the pandemic. read more

I continue to be disappointed by this nail salon. The staff is never friendly and I have always felt like I'm being rushed. They dont ask if the color is okay, they don't listen to what the customers want, and even worse, i keep hearing stories of friends who get infections from how much they cut into your skin. Monday was my 5th visit to Villa, and once again I walked out happy and relaxed. The young man who did my nails, John, is extremely gentle which is especially welcome in removing gel polish. He gives me his complete attention as he works. I look forward to his English becoming surer so we can chat, but it is sufficient to answer my nail questions...and learning English is difficult. Villa is very friendly, the salon is busy but I've never had to wait as there are many employees. Although it looks unassuming in its strip mall location and there are no grand piano and chandelier, it is very nice inside and most importantly I leave feeling pampered and valued. I had been leaving my former salon increasingly annoyed and tense, the opposite of the experience a salon should provide. After trying two other salons that were okay, I went to Villa based on the reviews here, and I'm so glad I did! I forgot to mention the massage at the end. There are masseuses who provide a free 10 minute massage that is amazing! It is requested to give your masseuse a tip which is well deserved. I have been here four times for pedicures and manicures. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is pretty, but I noticed that there is no consistency in how they perform the pedicure. One guy didn't put my feet in the water until he finished removing calluses which made no sense to me and my feet ended up bleeding a little. Another time, they soaked my feet for a few minutes before starting. I feel that the workers are not all equally trained, some are very good and others don't know what they are doing. Again, they are very nice, but I am not going to get a pedicure there again, because you don't know what quality service you will get. I will get a manicure, they have been ok. I really like the massage at the end which is why i tried the place, but i feel that it's not safe for my feet. read more

After reading all of the great reviews, I was excited to make this my go-to nail salon. My first visit occurred during the beginning of June when I got a pedicure. Being the broke college student that I am, I opted for the most basic pedicure which costs $30 without tax and tip. Ok, the price is about $2 more than average but it's not the end of the world. My toes looked great at the end of it, but I felt like effort lacked at times. I was also disappointed that my feet simply sat in water, not a scented soak. On June 14 I returned to get a gel manicure for an event I was attending. My technician, Benson, was pleasant but he gave me the worst gel manicure I've ever had (I've had MANY). Immediately, I noticed that one of my index fingers had a huge glob of gel near the cuticle. This made it so that the layer of nail polish sat improperly on the nail and I could easily lift it up. After a maximum of 5 days, a couple of my nails begin to chip and I had done no hard labor. It has not even been two weeks yet and I only have 4 nails in tact which is extremely dissapointing since I've had gel manicures that look good as new for 2-3 weeks. This experience was upsetting to me since this salon is immaculate but it takes more than nice decor to have a good business. read more

I had an appointment for my daughter and I. Arrived and had to wait, not very long but had to wait. I had ordered a spa pedicure, my daughter a gel manicure. I was escorted to the pedicure area to a chair that had the pedicurist chair on top of the massage chair. Waited with bare feet in the tub, no water running, no one adjusted the chair for my height. I was finally assisted by someone who gave me a very rushed regular pedicure. Never spoke to me only touched my leg when she wanted me to switch. Pedicure was fine but not a spa pedicure. I was escorted to the drying area which was filled to maximum. I was asked to wait in a manicure chair until space opened up. Finally escorted to a seat and squished into place. When the chair was being pushed in, it rolled over my paper flip flops and ripped them. I had enough at this point and left. Will not recommend to anyone and will not be going back. To be fair, the salon was busy but it still no reason for terrible service. read more

I went here thinking it would be better than the place I went to before. But they thin down their polishes so the color starts to wear off after about 4 days. Last time I went I got a new OPI color, really nice but the guy apparently used an old top coat, so after two hours my nails never dried and were ruined. I had to take the color off. I won't go back. I think that if you don't use their "FREE" massage option they don't like it. I don't like the idea of anyone touching me unless they use soap and water on their hands. They don't do that here, only the hand sanitizer and they use the same hair clip for everyone. I also did notice when I get there (and I try to get in early on the weekends) that there were at least 10 people sitting around playing on their cell phones. It's like that every time I go. I'm back to doing my nails myself. For the money you spend, I would recommend going to a cheaper nail salon, there's no difference. read more
