We LOVE Villa Ravenna. It is our favorite place for authentic, homemade Italian. We always split the burrata salad appetizer, I like the salata alla Ravenna with hearts of palm and we have never had an entree we didn't love.The pasta is always fresh and tender and the sauces are tasty. Last night our friend got the pumpkin ravioli appetizer - now I'm not a pumpkin fan, but it was DELICIOUS. All 4 of us would HIGHLY recommend it - we could have easily split it among us especially since we also split the burrata app. I don't understand the people who complain. Everything is house made and the prices are NOT hidden nor is the menu. If you have monetary or dietary restrictions, check before you go - that is on the consumer!! Quality of the foods used to be great !! I have to say that it has gone down since the pandemic. We went last night 6/23/22, had ravioli alla panna ( 5 little pieces ) $16. Penna arribiata (20$) sauce was barely there, no spices and the chicken was tasteless. Ten family members went, 250$ later. Do not waste your money. We went for a large (20+) family dinner and had a private room. There was a special menu and pre-ordered wine flowed freely--both were superb. Wait staff was very attentive and atmosphere galore! The pasta, seafood and osso bucco all got rave reviews. Will definitely be back! read more

It's my 18th Anniversary today. My wife and I have been so busy we only said we wanted to go out for a nice dinner someplace without specifying where... She told me late in the afternoon she had made a reservation at Villa Ravenna - based on a reference from a co-worker of hers who said it was a new place in town. Once we sat down we immediately liked it. The waiter made us feel as though we were his only customers. By the end of the meal we told him he ranked up there with our favorite waiter in Tulsa who has served us for over 15 years at various restaurants. He was awesome! I had soup for my appetizer and my wife had salad. The soup was perhaps the best I've ever eaten. My wife also loved her salad, but hey, it's just a salad... Still, she loved it. She had pasta with pesto sauce and grilled shrimp, which I sampled. It was awesome, but I have to say I win on this one. I got the WILD BOAR and rice! I've NEVER had wild boar before, but the waiter said they cook it for 6 hours and - well, whatever. I could go on, but they cook it for 6 hours! It was like buttah! I'm not a mushroom eater by nature so I had to overlook the mushrooms and pick them out, as well as the bones in the wild boar, but it was awesome! It was almost a stew it was so tender! Go there. Villa Ravenna is amazing! Not knocking Tulsa but I was shocked to find Italian food of this quality here. I've had some amazing Italian food in my life. From West coast to east coast to Rome, Florence and Venice - I've had Italian food! I actually should have been an Italian...doesn't get much better than Italian food, clothes, cars, leather goods (viva Ferragamo!), etc...and Italy herself! This Italian family owned piece of heaven does it right!! We started with Burrata (I believe) alla Caprese and the Wild Boar sausage. The Caprese is a twist on the traditional Mozzarella alla Caprese. I can't remember how they do the mozzarella but is was fabulous and super moist and with the rolled prosciutto, cherry size sliced tomatoes and gorgeous basil; all glazed gently with olive oil and a lovely balsamic reduction! The Wilde Boar Sausage, well I'm not sure how to describe it other than mouth watering flavorful and what appeared to be aged bacon that blended with the sausage perfectly! The main course was nothing short of EPIC!! It was one of two specials for the evening and I can assure you my words will not do it justice. It was Seafood Fettuccine Carbonara - first you must start with handmade pasta then perfectly cooked bacon morsels. The Alfredo sauce was refined and blended in a way that was even more creamy than you would normal taste in an Alfredo. Then there was the seafood; 4 perfectly grilled large scallop strategical position on four sides on the plated while mixed in with fettuccine and alfredo sauce was literally so much fresh water lobster and shrimp that defies anything I've experienced before. The price for the special - $45...stop there. If you are saying to yourself that pricey, I would argue no way...not for the amount of scallops, lobster and shrimp in the dish! I found Villa Ravenna during a yelp search of Italian Tulsa. With very good reviews, I thought it was worth trying out. I found the menu to have a nice variety, but a bit overpriced. Service was good, and handmade pasta always makes me happy. Limoncello cake was nice, but had a somewhat overpowering alcohol flavor where I would have preferred a less harsh dessert . Having no point of reference to compare Italian restaurants in Tulsa- not sure if I'd return or try another place on my next trip to OK. read more

Loved it. From the limoncello martini (Wowza!) to the appetizer (special "ramped up" caprese type dish to the lobster ravioli and beef tenderloin plus a cannoli to go for dessert. I personally have never been to any fine-dining restaurant, let alone a third generation Italian restaurant. When you first walk in, you can immediately feel the romantic ambiance of the restaurant. Dim lights, candles, white table cloth, a man playing piano... beautiful. The waiters are incredibly attentive and helpful. My fiancé and I ordered the calamari appetizer - PHENOMENAL. I ordered Calamari fa Diavolo, and the waiter warned me that it would be spicy - he wasn't wrong. It was almost too spicy, but it was still delicious. For dessert we got the tiramisu. I would have ordered 5 of them they were SO GOOD. Overall an amazing restaurant. 10/10 would recommend! read more

This review will more then likely be the longest one yet! Why, you ask? Well because it is that awesome!!!! First off Sergio is a doll! He has been so kind to my family and relatives I bring in from out of state (which has been many). The outside can be deceiving, but once you enter it is seriously beautiful!!! Our first time here was our anniversary 2013. My hubby found this place on pure luck! Since then, we have came here for all our special events, not to mention family and friends that come visit! Since I am Italian it is VERY hard to find that great italian place to eat! So when I give this place 5 stars I am saying, this is ITALIAN food at it's BEST!!!! Sergio, flys in most of his food, hence why everything tastes so amazing. He is right from italy, his strong accent gives this place that extra charm! He was so nice to spend time talking Italian with my dad when he came to visit. My father was very taken by this place and asks if we have gone lately and what we tried. I hear him drooling through the phone, lol! Ok, so here we go, as far as wines, ALL are outstanding. Ask waiter for a pairing with your meal! THE RAVENNA SOUR made with Sergio's homemade Limoncello is SERIOUSLY OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! This my friend is a MUST try if you go here!!! As far as appetizers, the Mozzeralla Alla Caprese, Sauteed Mussels, Escargot and Calamari are ALL outstanding. However, our fave hands down is the Escargot!!! Moving onto the main meals, we have tried: The vitello Osso Buco with Risotto (not a fave, wouldn't order again), Beef Tenderloin (OMG heaven), Pollo Alla Parmigiana (my FAVE), Polla Piccata (Very Good), Lamb Chops (YUM), Ravioli Bolognese (too small a dish), Shrimp Scampi (outstanding), Eggplant Parmigina (amazing), Linguini with Clams (my father raved), the linguine tossed in garlic-olive oil w/sauteed spinach is seriously the best, now the TRUE TEST.....If the spaghetti & meatballs is great that means you got my vote as true italian cooking! They were seriously the best!! I would order this dish again for sure!!!! The Caesar Salad is another fave, we get one every time we come, as it is big enough to share!!! Deserts: The Lemoncello Cake and Chocolate Cake are our faves!!! Can't go wrong with either one. If you had a heavy meal, I recommend the Lemoncello Cake. It is light. I highly recommend reservations, this place is always busy and is small. So to ensure you get a table. This I would encourage. Parking is plenty. Never had a issue here! Bathrooms, are clean and so charming. Pricing is med-high end. Well worth every penny. Seriously your eating homemade, flown in, high quality food! This was a fantastic dining experience. EVERYTHING on the menu is the best possible. Pasta, sauces, desserts are all hand made fresh daily. And everything tastes amazing. Not to mention the exciting chef's specials and creative dishes with exotic game and seafood. The service was presidential. Our cuisine expedition guide, Gregory was intricately knowledgeable about the extensive specials menu and the culinary methods and features. I use Yelp ALL the time to look for places to eat and Villa Ravenna is ALWAYS at the top. Needless to say, I've always wanted to go and see what the fuss was about. However, the $$$ rating always steered me away. Earlier this week, a friend suggested this place for dinner. YOLO? We ate there tonight. I got the Veal Marsala with a side of fettuccine alfredo ($19). I hear they make their own pasta. Unfortunately, our waiter didn't give us the spiel about the restaurant and their cooking. I heard another waiter telling his table about the history of the restaurant and I was slightly jealous. Anyways, food was eh. I didn't like how the marsala sauce got into the fettuccine - especially since they sauce the pasta so lightly. The marsala sauce covered up the alfredo, so I couldn't really taste it. The pasta was good. Alfredo sauce...I couldn't tell you since the marsala covered it up. The veal was eh. I've had better at other places - but then again, I wonder if my taste buds have been corrupted by trashy chain restaurants. Portion sizes were small - to me at least. But really, they probably serve the portion size you SHOULD be eating. They also serve complimentary warm, toasted garlic bread with oil and herbs, which was good. For dessert, I had to get the lemoncello cake ($6.50) since they make the lemoncello in house. It was good. Like some Yelpers have said, the alcohol taste is kind of intense at first, but you get used to it. The presentation was really pretty. Price-wise, I was pleasantly surprised. There are entrees from $13 to $70, so it's affordable. Dress is also pretty casual - not as uppity as I expected. Would I come back? Probably not, but at least I said I've been! read more

I have eaten a number of times at this restaurant and would normally give it a better review but not this time. I had dinner there recently with some friends and found the following problems. I had been trying to reduce carbs in my diet and my wife cannot eat gluten so we both wanted to substitute risotto for the pasta. They wanted an $8 upcharge which we accepted but found it ridiculous. My wife ordered Chilean Sea Bass which she liked. I ordered Veal Marsala. I could have gotten a frozen dinner of Veal Marsala that would have been as good. I am Sicilian and grew up on Italian food. The Creme Brulee that we had tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for a couple of days, Again, normally this is a good restaurant and the best Italian restaurant in Tulsa, although that is a low bar. read more

I had a co-worker working from our Tulsa office in town from Abilene and she wanted to know where she could go for a great Italian meal; she had a big thing about only going to local places while she was here and didn't want to go to a chain that she could go to near where she was from in Texas. We came here right after work on a Wednesday night and we were there pretty early so the place wasn't filled up yet. I would definitely classify Villa Ravenna as a fine dining restaurant and reserve coming here normally for special occasions or dates (which you can do online); this a great place to come for a date because of the romantic ambiance. White table cloths topped with candles and tiny flower vases adorned the dining room and the dim lighting and fireplace add a unique feel. This might be a silly thing to use to gauge a place, but in my books anywhere they serve water in a goblet instead of glass you know it's going to be great (and fancy). I was impressed with the wine selection, but ultimately settled on trying the limoncello mule because they make their own limoncello in house. When in doubt, I usually go with trying the house specialty because there's usually a reason they're known for it. My dining partner had the house Moscato and she said it was delicious. Depending on what I was having for my meal or what circumstance I was here (since we were here on a work night we kept it to one drink) I would definitely have to try some of the other specialty cocktails or wines on the menu. The service did not disappoint which I was nervous about because I'd read other reviews before coming in and a few of them mentioned the service not being 100%. Perhaps these reviews were from an older experience and they have improved or perhaps they were from a super busy weekend night and a slightly impatient patron. Either way, I was impressed with the service and consider it to be above average even for fine dining. To start the meal, we had the lumache (escargot) and it did not disappoint. It was the first time I've ever had escargot and I really enjoyed it; it's pretty hard to go wrong when you cook something in garlic, parsley, and butter and serve it with bread. Aside from the bread accompanying our appetizer, I must say they have really perfected the pre-meal garlic bread here. If you aren't a fan of garlic you may want to skip it, but for me it had just the right amount of butter, garlic, and spices. For dinner, I had fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken. This is my go to dish at most Italian restaurants, especially the first time I go, and the chicken alfredo at Villa Ravenna was truly top notch with a creamy sauce that was rich and tasty but somehow still fairly light. The serving size was just enough (some places bring you practically a serving platter full of pasta to overcompensate for low quality) and it was easily evident the pasta was made fresh in house as was the sauce. I would have been too full to have dessert on my own, but my co-worker ordered the creme brulee and shared a few bites with me. The creme brulee was standard and good and a pretty large portion but it wasn't the best I've ever had or anything. I will definitely be back to taste more items on the menu here and perhaps for a date since the romantic ambiance sets the perfect backdrop. read more

I looked forward to finally trying Villa Ravenna which i had heard was one of the best restaurants in town. It wad my dad's birthday and it wad a nice touch for the restaurant to give him a signed card signed by the staff. The chairs were uncomfortable so a long dinner is discouraged. The escargot was great as well as the minestrone and salad. The wine was served too warm. Despite requesting a vegan meal on the reservation it was one of the most bland meals in Tulsa that i have had. It was just pasta and chopped mushrooms and other vegetables. I have been here several times. The very first time I went was when my girlfriend took me there for my birthday in July. I ordered the ravioli bolognese and she ordered the gnocchi. Before we even received our dishes, the service was out of this world (Cory is the best waiter) and the bread was phenomenal. Once our entrees came out, we dug in and loved every bite. Easily my new favorite restaurant when I visit Tulsa. We we're greeted by the owner as we walked in. The weather was nasty outside but the interior was so inviting and cozy with the fireplace. Fantastic little Italian gem! The owner is from Italy and imports all ingredients from Italy. Everything is homemade from the noodles to the limoncello! Speaking of limoncello, they have a limoncello martini that's incredible (and I'm usually not a martini person). They have specials that rotate and are pretty exotic - boar, antelope, etc. If you want to treat yourself and get the specials or surf/turf then it gets a little pricey. If you don't want to break the bank they have lots of pasta dishes that are very reasonably priced - one of which is the gnocchi and it's great. For my entree, I selected RAVIOLI ALLA PANNA, homemade pockets of pasta stuffed with cheeses, veal, prosciutto & chicken then topped with a light cream sauce for $15. I was pleased with the food, atmosphere and service. The wine selections are plentiful, but on the $$$ side. Wine by the glass started at $11, which for Tulsa is steep. I was so excited my husband and I would be spending our 15th anniversary here for dinner. I had dined here before but my husband had not. Several of the staff congregated right behind our table. This irritated my husband as he was hoping for a quiet, corner table. We ordered drinks and appetizers, calamari and escargot which where both delicious. I ordered Chiliean sea bass and my husband ordered his absolute favorite italian meal, veal marsala. The sea bass was deilcious but the veal marsala was absolutley disgusting. I wanted to send it back but the husband thought that was rude. It was covered in this dark, disgusting gravy that no way resembled marsala. It was barely edible. Needless to say, over $100 later, we will not be returning to this restaurant.
