We had a pleasant lunch here a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday, we took our grandson and his friends to El Patron. Overall, it was another pleasant experience, but there was a language barrier which resulted in 2 people not getting what they ordered. One must let it go and accepted the quesadilla instead of an enchilada, which he ordered. Another told the server that he ordered an enchilada with tomatillo sauce but got red sauce. The server brought him an enchilada with tomatillo sauce but charged him for it. It's probably a good idea to make sure servers understand what you order. It's a beautiful restaurant. The downstairs is decorated in black and gold and is very spacious. It has multiple outside dining areas that look very inviting. read more

We went a little early to make it to a meeting a little later in the evening and the restaurant was not busy. This was Monday night, so we weren't really expecting it to be very busy. The inside was nice and bright. Everything looked clean and evenly set up. We were asked if we wanted to go upstairs, I don't do stairs, so we didn't see what it was like. They have a huge downstairs, and they were setting up for a large party that came as we were finishing up. The food came out pretty quickly and the plates were super hot! They have 4 types of salsas and dips for your chips. My food was delicious and the cilantro rice was so flavorful! My husband had a steak and cheese burrito and he was not able to finish it all. I ordered a pick 2 option with a chicken Quesadilla and a soft taco with ground beef. The chicken quesadilla was tender and juicy with a subtle flavor that made it even more satisfying. The soft taco was filled to capacity with mildly flavored meat. The quality of the food is excellent and the competent staff friendly and accommodating. The decor is upscale and relaxed. First time here but loved the ambiance and the friendly staff at the host stand. We told them it was our first time and they were just as excited as we were. We chose to sit upstairs on the patio. Our server, Wilson was friendly and knowledgeable. Immediately got us water and then our drunk order. We also had the table side guacamole . Asked Wilson for suggestions on food and I went with the patron steak and my partner got the salmon, we enjoyed our entrees. For dessert we got the sopapillas but they were underwhelming - felt they were cooked in old grease or something and sent them back. We would come back but will try another dessert next time. Vibrant atmosphere with lots of room. I must of got to the restaurant right on time because no more than 30 minutes later, there wasn't a seat that wasn't filled which was a good sign that I was in a good spot. Service was fast and efficient. The food was pretty good! Chips came out warm with a variety of salsas to dip. There were plenty of items to pick from on the menu. I ended up getting the steak with the bone marrow dish... it was awesome! The wife ended up getting a dish that had chicken cheese and peppers served in a pineapple along with tortillas, rice and beans. The borracho beans were amazing!!! I will be going back to this spot! If I could give 10 stars I would. We are in town for visit and asked the staff what was a good restaurant. Without hesitation she said to go here. So glad I listened. While it's different from Mexican food you get in Denver it it holy cow it was delicious. I don't like most restaurant food and this place surprised me. It's absolutely delicious. My opinion, Food is fabulous. Margaritas off the chain, Isabella our waitress and Rodrigo the manager, amazing. What a great experience. Don't know how someone would give a bad rating to this place. We went the Friday night of opening week. While it was very very crowded, we only waited about 20 minutes for a table (and we got to go upstairs). I really liked the architecture and decor, especially the cacti and succulents under the stairs. I really thought they did crowd control well. (I wish we had been told there was a bar upstairs, too, though.) I tried the Cantaro and it was refreshing but I would order something different next time. I'm not a huge fan of tamarind candy and while I love tajin, there was too much running down the side of the glass. Fingers were red. (Bar service was a bit slow, too.) The Enchiladas Verde (ordered with birria beef) were quite good. I would certainly order them again. I ordered a side of black beans (above average) and the elote but was told they were out of corn-on-the cob and the corn would come in a bowl. I said that was fine. What arrived WAS delicious but I can't believe I'm saying this--there was just way too much butter. I would totally return. The building itself merits a five star. Really disappointed with this place because this was my first time here and from the looks of it I thought things would be great. Unfortunately the service was substandard. Orders were put in wrong. Charges were put in the system wrong. Several instances of things going wrong during our visit. Sat right in the middle of the restaurant with the sun BLAZING right in our eyes during our meal. This place was HUGE and had plenty of better options for seating. Had to ask several times for things such as napkins, drink refills, chip refills. My order was incorrect and server was going to charge me to fix the order. The corn was actually the best thing I ate that night. At least the restaurant looked nice but that was about it. We have a pretty standard agreement in our household to not eat at brand new restaurants in their first week/month of opening while they work out the kinks. No need for the first impression to be bad when they just need time to figure things out. So we definitely broke our rule this weekend by going to El Patron's new establishment on 51st St. for our daughter's birthday celebration. It was already packed at 5:15 with a 25-30 minute wait, but they did get us seated right at the quoted time. We were led to a table upstairs. It's an impressive space with bars on both floors, patios in front and back, tons of tables. We did have to ask for chip refills, extra silverware sets that weren't delivered when we were seated, etc. All minor and easily corrected. We ordered 5 dishes and all came out hot and timely. Everything was just the same as expected from our experiences at the 41st St. location. Yes, I'm that person who goes to a Mexican restaurant and orders the crab legs, but honestly, they are so good and reasonably priced, I always end up ordering them. Everyone was happy with their orders as well. Oh, and I do love their spicy michelada mix with a modelo! Highly recommend the CAMARONES VERACRUZ. Shrimp was fresh and delicious. My husband had combo fajitas and really liked them. He thought they were great until he tried mine! The tortilla soup is really good, too. They spent a ton of money on this interior design. It's a bit bright and cold (appearance) inside but nicely done. PS: I ordered the shrimp diablo. I love spicy Mexican food but it was insanely hot. Without judging me they switched it for the other, which was the CAMARONES VERACRUZ, shrimp with grilled onions and mushrooms and their queso. Who doesn't enjoy celebrating a long week with a drink and good food? That was the idea that my best friend and I had on March 28th and we decided that El Patron would be the perfect place. If you've ever driven East on highway 44 in Tulsa, you've likely seen/passed this attractive cantina. I've visited the other location in East Tulsa and though they share the same name and menu, this one is the best in Tulsa. On a rainy Friday, I knew that I wanted to catch a happy hour but didn't know where. There were a few options on the list but El Patron won out. The cantina has an alluring appeal as it's patio, large doors and modern exterior design invites curiosity. Upon entering, there's a sense of elegance as the well-place bright lighting draws your attention to the tiled flooring, bright/modern lighting and decorative fixtures throughout. The long, well stocked bar screams "have fun, order a drink!" There are lights throughout but the garage-door windows let in lots of natural light and adds a level of diversity to the venue. I arrived around 2pm and my friend arrive 20mins afterwards but we were immediately seated. Unfortunately I didn't notice any booths or bistro tables, only short tables, so seating diversity is non-existent. We were there for the happy hour but elected for the white queso as well (which was spectacular). Along with the complimentary chips and salsa, I ordered the happy hour Paloma & she ordered the House Margarita. I enjoyed all 4 salsas but couldn't get enough of the chile lime and dark chile lime. The menu is robust, there's so many options it's overwhelming, but it's all decently priced and they all seem like good options depending on your taste. I ordered shrimp Tacos Del Mar with rice and refried beans while my friend ordered a vegetarian burrito. I don't remember how long the food took but it wasn't long. The Paloma? SO GOOD. Ordered another when the food arrived. The tacos were perfect: the shrimp was succulent and the fixings were blended wonderfully. The beans were seasoned well too! Even the rice was bursting with cilantro-lime flavor. The server was so nice, had I not been so full I would've praised her for her patience and service. We took our time to talk and finish our food but I appreciate the space for allowing us to do so. Unfortunately I did not visit the upstairs or the patio but I'm sure it was just as nice. There are many things to compliment about my experience but I truly enjoy the variety that's offered (both food and beverages), the portion sizes, the service of great staff members and the open-spaced venue. Though there are three eateries of the same name, this El Patron in particular is the best one. I would love to visit at night or during an event to truly maximize the space and feel connected to the venue. 10/10 read more

The service was just as impressive--attentive, friendly, and fast without ever feeling rushed. The staff really made us feel welcome and taken care of. The vibe? Killer. There was fantastic live music that added so much energy and fun to the evening. It truly made the whole atmosphere come alive. Service is great and the food is pretty decent or good for the price, but I feel like I need to say something about the construction that was done on this building not too long ago. This building is less than a year old and looks new when you first look, but if you look closer, the quality of it is crap. I should not go to every woman's bathroom door and not one of them walk not a single one and the women's bathroom locks properly, which is quite ridiculous and quite a few construction things that should've been fixed before this place was opened. I feel like your management needs to talk to whoever built this damn building because it is not that great for how high take it or nice it looks. read more

Since we couldn't make it out last night, we had our Valentine's dinner tonight. Out of all the options we considered, I took the wife's recommendation and we went to El Patron on 51st. I'd heard nothing but good here and elsewhere, so the bar was fairly high. We got there around 5ish and had to wait all of about 5 minutes for a table, which turned out to be upstairs. Promptly seated and drinks ordered, they brought out the chips and salsa sampler, with drinks immediately after. It took me a while to decide on what to eat because honestly, the menu is huge, and it all looked good. After flip flopping around on a couple of choices, I landed on the Chamorro Enchilado, which is a braised pork shank, seasoned with sauce and baked baby potatoes, also with sides of beans and rice. The wife went for beef fajitas, and we got a large queso to start with. Queso is outstanding. It's thick, so eat it while you can. Great flavor, not overly spicy, and sticks to your chip. The salsa assortment is the standard red, spicy ranch and citrus pineapple variey, with the addition of an outstanding smoked green pepper salsa. Not sure what peppers they used, but I don't think it's just standard jalapenos. Anyway, it was a welcome addition. Food arrived quickly, if a little disjointedly. Wife got her fajitas first, with several minutes wait until she got the rest of her fixings. My dish arrived about 5 minutes or so after that. Not a huge deal, but the expeditor needs to work on that a little. The food itself was worth the wait. Her fajitas were easily some of the best I've had in Tulsa. Plenty of meat and veg, all sliced small enough to easily pile onto the fresh tortillas. The Chamorro was hands down one of the best meals I've had in recent memory. The pork shank was perfectly cooked, and just the right size. The sauce was a mixture of enchilada and bbq type sauces that had a bold heat to it that kept my sinuses clear the entire meal. The roasted potatoes that came in the dish were equally outstanding and could have almost stood on their own. Service was above excellent, and we felt well taken care of the entire time. Overall, an outstanding experience, probably 4.5 out of 5 stars, and that's just due to the expediting kerfluffle, not the quality or quantity of food. I will definitely be back. read more

This place was absolute ass from start to finish. Servers don't even know what the fuck a basic hand signal for the check means, which already told me everything I needed to know. Then a broken chip/salsa bowl snapped and fell straight into my lap, ruining a $60 Carhartt jacket. Completely fucked the rest of the night. Barely any real apology and no serious attempt to make it right. The restaurant was pure chaos -- kids running around like it's a playground, staff dropping shit, fumbling trays, zero control of the floor. To top it off, the waitress bringing our queso stuck her fucking thumb in it, spilled some on the floor, and still served it. That's disgusting and unacceptable. No ambience, no professionalism, no awareness -- just a shitshow. The entire experience was ruined. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. El Patron Cocina Mexicana Harvard is rude to their customers and don't want to give customer service number i will be doing a review. i went to the location on harvard yesterday around lunch time i ordered steak fajitas at the bar and got a drink while i waited the staff behind the bar were amazing it was two young ladies... so i finally get my food ( i ordered lunch to go ) and i glanced in my bag but didnt really think to much to check because i seen my fajita meat and then the other container with the rice and beans etc... i get all the way home and ngl my FAVORITE part of the meal is the salsa and chips IDC IDC!! so mind you i live all the way north tulsa so i get home and notice there is absolutely no salsa or any of the condiments i typically get in my togo orders cool... i give them a call the manager kinda had a attitude about it like you calling over salsa type of attitude, cool... fast forward to today, im out on MEMORIAL handling business but im like since im out might as well stop back by and pick up the chips and salsa i didnt get to enjoy with my meal.. i arrive nice and welcoming i speak as i walk in i walk into the general manager so i explained what happened and ( that i called yesterday about the salsa i even apologized because i didnt make it back explaining the drive was far and asked could he comp a queso or something for my drive because really i was way on memorial so its out the way for me) instant attitude again he said " i can do the salsa and the chips thats all because you had me get the salsa ready yesterday and never came " like what??? i was baffled bc i was already north and at home when i called in the first place... so i then ask for customer services number he's being rude all around ( the store manager ) so i begin to speak with the regular manager and i could tell he wanted to give me the queso but the store manager started speaking to him in spanish and told him not to i guess... so they give me a NUMBER for corporate which seemed fishy to begin with because the number was a 918 number and it kept going to voicemail... i then call the the 41st location the lady was SUPER nice and EVEN told me they don't have a corporate number so she doesn't know why they gave me that number and proceeds to give me the EMAIL to their corporate, mind you i was calm and nice the ENTIRE TIME im asking for corporate number or a way to get ahold of them... i kindly let him know i wont be back because i've been going to them since they opened their location and my friends have and ive spent a ton of money there and honestly its very upsetting not only did they almost forget my TORTILLAS for my fajitas ( they got it right before i left without noticing but said they almost forgot ) they forgot all condiments forks spoons etc... i let him know kindly after him being rude about me not coming back yesterday for the salsa that you need to hold your employees accountable FIRST and fore most, i will be emailing corporate as well... read more

OMG!!!! My family of 30 people just ate here to celebrate my husband's 56th birthday after another restaurant up the street turned us away. The staff was AMAZING & the food, AUTHENTIC & DELIcorrect. The flavor & seasoning were on point. Our waitress & waiter Katherine & Alvaro were so efficient & helpful. They were methodical and got EVERY order correct. At the end of our meal a staff of about 20 showed up with a decadent chocolate cake similar with Tiramasu and did a happy birthday song to my husband. I felt bad that my quesabrillas took longer than everyone so I had to wait for them to come in after 15 minutes that everyone got their food and the quesabrillas consomé arrived after 10 minutes that the quesabrillas arrived. So it was interesting, but they tasted good. So I think the preparation takes quite longer so just be aware of it. Everything else tasted good. The charros beans were not my favorite but the Mexican rice was good. Our waitress was a bit lost but she was nice and after reminding her she got what we needed it. Ambience was nice, will probably come back, but I might try sitting downstairs to see if that makes a difference in the service and getting my food faster. read more

Summary of Concern On Sept 20, I hosted a birthday celebration and requested to be seated upstairs. Initially, my group was placed downstairs, but after requesting again, we were accommodated upstairs. Once settled, I ordered food and drinks, though my tortilla soup was served cold. I did not raise an issue at the time and planned to take it home. I requested on three different occasions for happy birthday to be sang and a dessert to be served to the table prior to us leaving and paying for the check for my mom's birthday. Neither happens !When the bills were distributed among our group of over 20 guests, multiple discrepancies were noted, including extra drinks and additional charges. When I questioned this, staff assured me the bills were correct. Later, I learned that one of the drinks had been paid for downstairs. I contacted the manager, who apologized but only offered a refund of $14. I requested a $20 gift certificate to account for the drink, liquor tax, and inconvenience, but the manager declined, stating he could only provide the $14 refund. I explained that I do not live in Tulsa and do not intend to return, given the service issues and concerning billing discrepancies, which raise serious concerns about accuracy and fairness. I plan to return tomorrow to request either the $20 gift certificate or my full cash refund, with a preference for a refund. read more

Decided on a late lunch (3:00pm) here on a Thursday. Plenty of parking, beautiful facility, greeted immediately and shown to a table. My partner was using a walker and we were easily accommodated. Inside is spacious and it wasn't too loud, though I imagine it could get pretty loud if crowded. We came at a good time, plenty of staff and management checking to make sure things were running smoothly. Carla was our server, and she was attentive, not obnoxious. Partner ordered the Top Shelf Margarita ($12.50). I had a Dos Equis Ambar with a frosted glass ($6.95). A tray of 4 different salsas and large basket of chips were immediately brought. All were good. She had the Tortilla Soup ($7.95) and I had the Create Your Own Combo lunch special (Chicken enchilada, cilantro lime rice and charro beans for $11.95). It was all very tasty and the food is very similar to El Patron in Sand Springs. We didn't make it upstairs to check out that space. There's plenty of outside seating both upstairs and down. Still new still learning the menu great look restaurant upstairs down stairs good vibe. Food was tasty but did not get all I asked for or maybe it's how they do it. Ordered the build your own burrito, grilled steak, and chorizo, it then ask what do you want inside well rice, then it ask you what do you want for sauce, then your sides. What a came to the table was a burrito with everything I asked for stuffed inside including the sides. Wife had the street tacos with house salad as her side, she asked for no croutons and no bacon, it came covered in bacon with wilted lettuce needless to say that got sat to the side and not touched, tacos were just ok. Food came to the table like warm I imagine the walk from the down stairs kitchen to upstairs where we sat chilled our food it was not hot.
