The seafood pasta is usually on special, it is fantastic, we love this place and look forward to reasons to go.

It pains me to leave this review. Villa Ravenna has been our family's favorite Tulsa restaurant since our first visit over ten years ago. We dined there last night and were greeted by an unfamiliar face. We learned during our visit (after asking our waiter) that Sergio and Yanni sold the restaurant a couple months ago. Service has always been exceptional at this restaurant. Unfortunately, our server last night (another new face) repeatedly left empty plates on the table between courses, even after being reminded that they needed to be removed. Food: the fried zucchini Gorgonzola and porcini Marsala appetizers were excellent. Entrees: My wife always orders the shrimp arribiata. Waiter forgot the shrimp and served it without. When brought to his attention, her plate was left on the table and another server showed up ten minutes later with shrimp on a side plate. Son ordered Caesar salad and asked for chicken to be added. The chicken that was served appeared to have been microwaved. Although it was obvious that the dish was unsatisfactory from the fact that he didn't eat it, the server never inquired. Son's tenderloin was very good, as was his side of pasta with whiskey cream sauce. I ordered the prawn special. I have ordered this dish several times in the past. The prawn was overcooked, and the greens over salted. The seafood risotto accompaniment was good. All said, for a meal that is close to $300 including tip for a party of three (food only, no alcohol), the standard should be fairly high. This experience failed to approach that standard. Sergio always made a point to personally visit our table to ask about our experience. That personal touch and concern appears to be long gone. We will cherish the special times we enjoyed at this restaurant over the years, but will need to find a new favorite Italian spot in Tulsa. Warm wishes to Sergio and Yanni, wherever they may be. The food was very good, the server was wonderful. The limoncello cake was definitely the star!

Pros: the only place in town where I can find this salmon pasta I love. It's a pretty basic Italian dish that I've eaten in other cities, but Villa Ravenna is the only place to get it in Tulsa. I've tried to make it at home just so we could avoid going to this place, but it's such a pain to cook at home. Cons: My husband refuses to eat here, so I normally only get to go. He's never forgiven them for this one really bad experience we had. Based on Yelp's recommendation, we came here looking for that smoked salmon pasta. We're not large people and tend to split meals. What the waiter ended up doing was charging us for 2 orders of the salmon pasta and then explained that the restaurant doesn't split meals when we complained. Wow. He should have explained that to begin with and then we would have ordered 2 different meals. Instead, he's lost my husband's business for good. I heard recently that they do split meals now, but he feels completely cheated. Won't go back. read more

To fully appreciate this update and the lowered rating, I implore that you read prior review. Especially the last paragraph. Once, I can forgive. Twice, I'm calling it Bait & Switch. And unforgivable. Last Friday we made reservations to belatedly celebrate our anniversary. I had been reviewing recent Yelps and noted there seemed to a problem w/ waitresses pushing red wine. Yet, I was surprised to find my Chardonnay self in that very situation. I had the BTG red wine list promptly presented. I said I drink white wine so, hesitantly, it was handed over. As before, I wasn't impressed and asked for the electronic version which had not been offered. Begrudgingly, she retrieved it. Indeed, it was skimpier than prior visit. However there were two Chardonnays (same label, mind you) with which I was familiar, one being from the Russian River Valley (remember, I have my sommelier pin). Alas, it was $15 more expensive than the other. I just couldn't justify $15! So I ordered the less expensive. This is where it gets reminiscent of prior review, last paragraph. She returned w/ a bottle of wine sunken in an ice bucket. Procured the one glass, for me, & moved the bucket nearer to me. She started to open the bottle secreted in the bucket. WHAT? I had to ASK , "Can I **see** the bottle?" Thoroughly shocked at her underhanded maneuver. She was just going to open it & charge me! I said, "I'd love that bottle of wine if you intend to charge me the same **as the one I ordered**." To which she said, "That's not my call." So I implored that she find out. She came back and said, "That's the only bottle we have." I asked for the electronic list again. She handed me the BTG list, and I said I liked the BTB list better. She said it had not been updated & "we're not going through that again", are we? Such superb customer service here. Lied to twice. I took the BTG list again and she disappeared. My non drinking hubby was being extremely patient but said my wine at home was better. 1/2 hr in, no wine, no food, no waitress. People arriving way after us were being served. When she deemed to swing by at last I asked for a sample of Chard I'd swear I'd had before. It was awful. Way sweet, had no notes of Chard. Told hubby I had no idea what they'd poured. So, when she showed up again, I gave up & ordered Stag's Leap @ $15 a glass. Meh. People who came in after us had food before we'd even heard the "specials", which oddly always seem to be the same. . . Love that prosciutto/burrata/balsamic app! But when it was served, our menus had not even been removed. Not as pretty this time, sloppier presentation, not as much pesto as before, verified by prior customer pix. But we were so hungry we licked the plate clean. The bread they serve is chewy, spicy, satisfying. The food is good and somehow they manage to serve pasta HOT. Hot food is good. The portions are rather large; everyone leaves w/ go boxes & I expect that's a Tulsa draw from the size of many of the patrons. Consistently busy, Turning tables. Noisy kids in the bar when we left at 8:00. Hubby said of our waitress, "She doesn't want to be here tonite." Would you? Sub par service and aggressively mediocre food. Tried to take my wife here for a belated valentine's, and we felt more like we were and inconvenience to the restaurant rather than a guest. The friendliest person there was our food runner. Our server never introduced themselves and never mentioned the specials that we heard mentioned to other tables. The food was good, but for the price we paid I would say it was hyper inflated. The lobster ravioli was about 80% pasta and 20% filling. Same thing for my wife's tortellini dish. Doubtful that we will ever be back because of the service alone. read more

We had an absolutely perfect evening at Villa Ravenna. The bruschetta appetizer was perfection, my husbands Caesar Salad was perfect and both of our lasagnas were perfection. He ambiance, with he white table clothes and old world feel are perfect. The owner came around and greeted everyone, which was SO special. This was our first time to visit Villa Ravenna, it was awesome. We started off with the escargot and prosciutto wrapped scallops, both a little pricey, however the escargot was really good. The prosciutto was a little thick around the scallops and made it a little hard to chew but they were still decent. We then spilt the veal piccata, such good flavor. I will say their portions are more on par of what we are probably supposed to be eating not the I ate half of my plate and it doesn't look like I put a dent in it. To top off are delicious meal we had the bread pudding, if it's on a menu we are trying it. Beware it does have raisins in it, which typically I prefer to do without but it added a nice flavor. First time dining here. Although I did not enjoy the food, I may return to see if a totally different dish can redeem this restaurant. If you enjoy heavy cheese the lasagna bolognese won't disappoint. My husband and I were in the mood for some good Italian food and I remembered coming here a few years ago with my sister and daughter who live in the area and enjoyed the food and ambience. The restaurant is quite large and has a formal setting with dark wood and feels like you're visiting your nonna in Italy. They have an outdoor patio area that looks like it would be nice to sit outside on a warmer day. We ordered a bottle of the Closer a nice Cabernet from Paso Robles, one of our favorite places to go for wine tasting. They have an extensive selection of wine and pretty high end bottles to choose from as well. We then had the Bruschetta on grilled bread and it was very fresh and light. The only thing that would have made the bruschetta better would have been if the toasts were warm but still we enjoyed them. We ordered the Chicken Marsala with angel hair pasta and Alfredo sauce, the Marsala sauce was very good and had a great depth of flavor. We also ordered the Ravioli alla Panna that had chicken, veal and cheese with a light cream sauce. The pasta was good and delicate and the flavor was very good but it was so rich, I couldn't eat but two pieces and gave my husband the rest. The fresh garlic bread that was brought after our meals were delivered was so delicious!! We really enjoyed the food and the service was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back but I'd love to see more fresh fish items (too much fried food) on the appetizer menu and possibly an arugula salad and a lighter pasta option with veggies would be amazing!! read more

Had a glorious dinner here a year ago. Not sure what happened this time - sea bass entree was only partially tasty. The other part of NOT tasty were the calamari and mussels served with it. Will try something else next time. And. A Different wine than the Riesling. read more

We tried this place on a Sunday evening before a show we were attending at Cain's. We made reservations but there were plenty of seats available when we arrived. I had high expectations based on all the other reviews but it didn't quite live up to what I was hoping for. This is another time I wish Yelp allowed half stars. It wasn't quite a 4star for us but I always give the benefit of the doubt. We will be back to give it another try in the future. I tried the the Limoncello Martini and it was good but a little too sweet for me. I always try these when available if the establishment has homemade Limoncello. We started with the Dates alla Ravenna (bacon wrapped dates) and it was probably the best part of our whole meal. I ordered the Caesar salad and added chicken. I couldn't really taste the dressing but they did add a TON of chicken. I probably wouldn't get this again. We also tried the Mozzarella Caprese salad and it was about what you would expect. The mozzarella had a nice consistency which is always a plus. I also tried the Zuppa di Mare (lobster and shrimp cream based soup). The portion was fairly large but there wasn't that much detectable lobster/shrimp...it did have a nice little kick to it that I wasn't expecting. My hubs tried the Melanzane alla Parmigiana (eggplant parm) and enjoyed it but wasn't blown away. Like I said, we will likely give this place another shot one day but with so many other places to try it will be awhile. read more

Upon arriving, I noticed the front of house staff was all kinds of confused. Hostess and servers double seating customers, the hostess stand left empty for long periods of time, people being ignored, stuff like that. I got there a little before my date so when I was offered a table I took it because, who knows if I'd have ever been seated before 10pm. Once seated it got really funny, really fast. The kid that brought out the water/bread OBVIOUSLY didn't want to be there. Like, at all. I'm sure he's good at what he does, but he made it clear he'd rather be elsewhere. The waiter, nice as he was, was a "close talker". He got RIGHT UP in our faces to take our order. It was both frightening, and hilarious. Besides the, uhm, "distracted" service the food itself was fantastic. My date and I both got the Fettuccine Alfredo with Scallops, Lobster, and Shrimp. Heaven. It was pure heaven. We discovered that if you wanted another drink, it was better to order 2 at a time because the bar is slow. So...service...meh. Drinks, good ,but take too long. Food, delicious. My favorite restaurant. The food and service are always excellent. Tonight we celebrated my grandsons 14th birthday and he chose this restaurant to celebrate it. He had the lobster ravioli and loved it. My wife had the lasagna bolgnese and loved it. I had the Chilean sea bass ala romana which had in addition to the perfectly cooked sea bass, scallops, mussels and shrimp and I loved it. Excellent service as well. My husband and I had dinner reservations for New Years. When we arrived, no one was at the hostess stand. About 10-15 minutes later a hostess showed up. She did not say hello or ask us for reservation information. Shortly after, the manager (I assume) came up to the hostess stand, threw menus onto the hostess stand, and said "sorry, people aren't leaving". Yet, not a single person said hello or asked us about our reservation. We were finally seated 20 minutes after our reservation time. Once seated, we discovered the menu was not as listed online. We decided we did not want anything on the "special" menu. The server explained the normal menu will not be served until the second week of January. Nowhere was this posted or made known when we made our reservations. We decided to leave and go to a different restaurant. The server was nice, but talked a lot about the history of the restaurant. This was our first time and probably our last. We had high hopes for Villa Ravena. Overall, my husband and I were dumbfounded by the service or lack thereof. read more

Full disclosure first - It was New Years Eve. Our reservation was for 8 at 8:30. With that being said - This celebration was a hot mess. First of all I found out that this place was shutting down for a week on 1/1/24, and may account for some of this. The menu was restricted to several choices. We waited about 10 minutes for water, ordered drinks, and waited 30 minutes for those (and no bread). When we ordered although on the menu but they were out of the beef options half of us wanted but had Bison. Otherwise our menu has primary seafood. Can we just get plates of spaghetti? No- there is only what's on the menu. Caesar salad - on the menu but sorry - out. So half of us were having to settle. Salads came but some were incorrect, then they brought salads for everyone , even those that did not want them. Oh well. Entrees came EXCEPT for one they got incorrect. It finally arrived about 25 minutes later. We ordered some martinis but were told there were no available martini glasses so we got them in short water glasses. Meanwhile the staff started shutting down the place around us. I asked to see the manager but no one came. Oh and they added 20% tip to our tickets, and the only comp we got after all this was the one guy who's entrée arrived after the rest of us were done, got his free. Now I understand the circumstances but at least try to act like our satisfaction was desired. At least have something in case you run out of food, perhaps some humble spaghetti and meatballs, but something. The food we actually received was good tasting. My tab came to $175.00. The bottom line here is do not go here on NYE or if you do, go early to to insure they have food you prefer, instead of what is left over on the menu. My husband and I have been coming here since they first opened. We love the romantic atmosphere and unique Northern Italian food. Some of our favorite dishes are Fettuccine Alfredo, Calamari, Sea Scallops, and Melanzane alla Parmigiana (eggplant). It is pricey but we feel it is worth it for the unique atmosphere, service, and flavors. We really like the owner too, he always says hi and visits with us. The waiter ignored us during most of our meal. When he took our orders, he spoke down to our Black friend and offered him mashed potatoes instead of pasta. My pasta was over cooked. My wife's sea bass was under flavored and needed an acid to bring out the full flavor. Honestly, this place is just way too expensive for me. I get the appeal. It's a classy, authentic Italian place. But it's so ridiculous expensive, and if you're lactose intolerant, they literally have ONE option for you. So $20 for some lackluster pasta primavera just doesn't do it for me. On the other hand, my parents love it. They break their diets for the lasagna, I think, and they say it's marvelous. Parking seems adequate, it's in a complex, so depending on what time you go, it should be fine. I saw a listing on the table for some type of alcohol that was $200 a shot. God damn! That's just absurd. I guess if you have the kind of money to be using for things like this, good for you. I'd rather eat knock off Italian, and unlimited breadsticks for half the price. read more

We called to request our reservations for four at 7 pm. Upon arrival we had to wait several minutes for someone to arrive at the front to seat us. The lady jogged into place when she saw us waiting. We were taken over the hill and thought the woods-wait -we were taken deep into the building, made almost a u-turn and headed back to the front to a room in which we were alone. The room was cold, I never took my coat off and dark. Even with the table light I had to use the flashlight on my cell phone. Okay this is where the complaining ended! We were served bread. It had butter and basil. There was olive oil with spices to dip but that was not needed. It was divine. We are three baskets of bread. Appetizers ordered included Caesar salad (good but not earth shattering), escargot (incredible) and roasted pears with Gorgonzola on a bed a spinach (the heavens opened and Angels sang). Main courses we dined on were Lasagna Bolognese, Fettuccini Carbonara, and Cheese Ravioli. All three were quite tasty and made with homemade pasta which was delightful. The wait staff were attentive and even brought a complimentary cannoli for the birthday girl. We will be returning-soon! read more

Every single time I've dined there, the owner always visits with you at the table to ensure that everything is first class. The food preparation and presentation is first rate. I've been here on multiple occasions and it has never failed to impress me. They have a large menu, but everything has been good that we've ordered. The special for the night was carbonara pasta with seafood and lobster. They were generous with their portions of scallop and lobster so that was good. The seafood pasta was tasty. We got the Escargot-- tasty. The grilled pear appetizer was interesting. The Mozzarella with rolled prosciutto and tomatoes was refreshing. This place is AMAZING. This is no doubt the best Italian I had in all of Oklahoma. I actually know people that come from OKC just to eat here! The owner is a super friendly Italian Immigrant who personally ensures that the restaurant is running to his standards.
