The server, Patricia, may be my favorite part of the experience. She is pure class. This kitchy Disneyland Fantasyland/Santa Claus Lane/Gnomeland-like Italian restaurant oddity has much to love. First, if you're like me, you like hidden treasures. My husband took me here and there were just a few other groups here. No loud music. No obnoxious crowds. Then there's the Roy Roy Rogers Wagon Wheel cringeworthy decor. That's one way to look at it. Another way is, "How fun!". And colored Christmas lights in March? Cringeworthy or fun? Fun! I would skip the cheese bread myself. It's cheese on bread. That's it. My angel hair pasta with chicken, basil and tomato was lovely. My husband loved his seafood pasta. The greenery was pleasant, and with the food and server Patricia I felt like I was somewhere we'd have to make reservations weeks in advance. Very refined. I used to live in Sundland and always mentioned to my wife. We should try that place sometime. last week for anniversary we finally made it to point to visit this place. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. I got the lasagna and my wife got the chicken Parmesan. we chose these dishes because they are Italian staple. I'm gonna be perfectly honest with you better off going to Olive Garden which has much better food. However, as far as ambience this place, this place is better. Villa Terraza is a charming restaurant with interesting decor. We arrived right when they opened and there was no wait time whatsoever. The entrees did take a while to come out so if you're extra hungry get appetizers. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread which was great along with the fried calamari. For our entrees we ordered the special of the day grilled white fish with lemon caper sauce, beef ravioli with Marsala sauce and steak. The chicken parm was not a good value. The portion size was so tiny. The two pieces of chicken were slightly smaller in diameter and thinner than hockey pucks, and there was maybe one and a half cups worth of pasta. for $21? I mean at tht rate just order spaghetti and kids order of chicken tenders and call it a day. I was so excited to try this place, given the many 5-star Yelp reviews. However, I guess I gotten my hopes only to be disappointed. I'm not sure if I ordered the wrong dish or it was something else. It wasn't even that busy either.. First off, I like the ambiance and the decor of the place. It has a homey feel to it. Perfect for a romantic date night or a nice dinner with family. Even the outside was well-lit and decorated. My boyfriend and I were seated in a secluded table. Where you felt like you were in a private room. But it was difficult to get anyone's attention since there are walls surrounding you. Another thing that bothered me was the light over our table. Which kept flickering and dimming out then coming back extremely bright. With the garlic bread appetizer, I ordered the Trout entree with minestrone soup and my boyfriend ordered the spaghetti with extra meatballs and meat sauce with salad dressed in blue cheese. It seems like the other Trout orders in the Yelp photos seemed buttered and with seasoning.. Mine ? Extremely bland with no seasoning at all.. It really had no flavor. I rarely have to use the salt shaker to season my food. But, here I am, salting and peppering my trout. Even my mashed potatoes and my vegetables were cold.. My boyfriend was extremely disappointed in his meal. Everything seemed to be watered down. From the blue cheese dressing on his salad to his meat sauce with his spaghetti. If it wasn't for him ordering extra meatballs, it'd be just a plate of spaghetti in a soup.. of red.. water... The only thing we enjoyed was the garlic bread. I didn't even bother finishing my trout. They used to be to good! I don't know if it's post COVID or they changed cooks but the food was really bad. I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. What I got was basically hamburger and spaghetti noodles and the hamburger was poorly seasoned no flavor at all. My date ordered before ravioli. The beef raviolis had a strange colored meat inside that didn't resemble hamburger at all and to top it all it is the same unseasoned hamburger on top. Very disappointed read more

Family-owned in Shadow Hills and while the restaurant is relatively new, the property has tons of history! They also have a separate event spot in the back available for rental/parties. I almost always order the salmon pasta dish. It is sooooooo yummy with salmon, artichokes, spinach, and the sauce is delish. My dad likes the chicken marsala and my mom gets the seafood pasta. Not the most amazing ever, but good, solid meal, good friendly service, and decent price. Check them out! read more

I reviewed this same place back in 2016. I was hoping that things would have changed since, but unfortunately, they have not. Prices are inflated for what you get. I ordered a rib eye medium and got it well done. Absolutely no flavor to the steak...even with what they call compound butter on it. Doubt that it was. But really...how hard is it to season a steak? No salt or pepper was used and the steak looked grey...like the meat was old. The potatoes were runny and the vegetables were wilted. A bad meal all around for $35. No only decent thing here was the salad. But the worst part was just as our food was brought to us, one of the workers thought that would be a good idea to water the surrounding plants....which brought out the mosquitoes and bit us alive the rest of the night. Not a good idea. I was hoping this place made positive strides over the years....but is just another sad example of a poor chef that doesn't seem to care read more

Warm, cozy, and strangely reminiscent of a favorite grandma's cottage, this Italian restaurant distinguishes itself based off of its unique, homely décor, warm service, and comforting Italian dishes. My typical experience at restaurants consist of servers rattling off the entire menu when I ask for a recommendation, as well as extoling in painstaking detail every ingredient that goes into the special of the day, but the servers here kept it short and sweet, and most importantly, spot on. Our server recommended two dishes, both of which were hits - the seafood pasta with Marinara sauce, which was a pasta with a medley of fishy items including mussels, shrimp, and one of the yummier fishes I've tasted, and the garlic cheese bread appetizer, which was (I am not exaggerating when I say this) the best garlic cheese bread I've had in my life. It was a crunchy baguette topped with hot, oozing cheese bursting with flavor. If you want only one thing on the menu here, pick this one. read more

Hi Leslie, that's nice you're working with autistic adults and helping them out..that aside, you're response to me did not mention the hair on our calamari nor did you mention anything about for paying $23 for 5 pieces of shrimp. Here's a learning experience for you from someone who has grown up in the restaurant and catering business. When things like this happen, you should possibly message the customer for them to reach out to you directly so you could have tried to make things better for your new customers. You could have either possibly issued us a refund on the app or future dinner on the house next time. Since you did not do any of the above mentioned, it really looks like you don't care that we had an eyelash on our calamari or received an extremely small portion as an entree. You had the opportunity to try and make things better however you did not and that speaks volumes and for that my 2 star review on your restaurant just became a 1 star review. Go watch some training videos on how to take care of customers in this situation. Oh and if you want to be eaten alive by mosquitoes have dinner outside where you'll be itching away for the next 6 days! I know it's a mountain area but there are so many remedies to eliminate mosquitoes at a outside restaurant and I saw none being done...another example of not caring. read more

Absolutely incredible! I've been passing this restaurant my entire life. I've always loved the look of it and heard good things, but never made a point to visiting. Finally went with my grandparents and was blown away. Had a taste of 6 different dishes, every single one was delicious. The bread pudding for dessert was super bomb. (Ended up going back for a second time within the same week hahaha) This is officially my go to nice dinner out. It's so close to home, which is great. There aren't many around here I love.
