Great Sunday lunch spot. Beautiful property with a lot of character. I had the seven seas, linguine with seafood and it was outstanding. Garlic cheese breed was also fantastic. I've eaten at this restaurant twice now with a large group of girlfriends. PROS: 1) Very accommodating and helpful on special food requests (gluten-free, oil free, special off-menu dish, etc. Our server was very helpful and the chef even suggests items and then creates something yummy.) 2) Willing to do separate checks for a large group (15 to 20 ladies) as long as you tell the server when she starts taking the first order. 3) Everyone loves the food. The plate was a spicy chicken (forgot the name) "Forzo" or similar which had the perfect amount of spice with linguine. So, decided on the crème brûlée cheesecake... mmmm. The California Chicken Salad here is to die for. All of the different flavors compliment each other. The dressing is made from scratch in house which makes it ever better. It's the perfect mix of refreshing and sweet and savory. Everything on the menu is delicious, but this is definitely my favorite thing at the moment. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. Everything about it is cute. From the flowers to the lighting to the art that decorates the walls. It's a little piece of Italy hidden away in Sunland. The outside area is also beautiful. First time visit long-time customer. This is going to be family's new favorite Italian restaurant. We've already visited a second time before I posted my review. My husband and I love visiting places with history. And man this place has some stories to tell. Our first visit we st outside on the patio it can be a little noisy worth cars passing by but we didn't mind. Roxanne was our server she was great. We ordered a bottle of wine and caprese as an appetizer. The caprese was great. The soup of the day was claim chowder with fresh claims and that's hard to come these days most places used canned (gross). The claim chowder was perfect we loved it. I had the linguine and clam sauce for dinner. The linguine was cooked perfectly. Hubby got the combo plate with chicken and shrimp it was all good. We finished off with lemon cheesecake for dessert. And all I can can say is wow. My husband doesn't usually like cheesecake but he gobbled that up. I would highly recommend giving this place a try if your looking to visit a place with some history and great Italian food. Just want to warn you they don't have pizza. read more

This was my first and last experience of this place. Because of the Saturdays are usually more crowded, I did the reservation earlier today for four people. When we got there on-time, they weren't set our table yet, so we wait little bit more. They make a table for us next to the lady who was playing and singing. This place is really small and music is very load. After our request to change our spot, we moved to one of those small rooms which was more private and quiet. Usually for a Saturday night you are not expecting that a restaurant gonna be out of foods and drinks specially around 7 p.m. My husband asked for a beer (I forgot the name) they were ran out of it. Our firend asked for beef round eye stake, which was in their special menu, again was ran out of that too, So he ended up with New York stake which was served with mashed potato, guess what, again they were ran out of mashed potato and stack wasn't good at all... I ordered chicken marsala which was served by spaghetti and it was uncooked... In dessert section we had tiramisu and regular coffee (they only serve regular coffee). Tiramisu was creamy, I liked it but our firends didn't... Comparing to the food which they were served, this place is very pricey. read more

This place was incredible! Sometimes the food doesn't match the scenery but this place had it all. Food, service, ambience and good company. Pasta was on point, al dente! I had spaghetti with pink sauce which I normally do not get because it's never like you get at home but they didn't disappoint. Others at the table had eggplant parmigiana, beef lasagna, clams and linguini and seafood linguini and everyone was ooohing and awwwing at the table. We even ordered an extra order of cheese bread. Now I will admit that this isn't the best Italian food in Los Angeles, however, the charm and uniqueness of this place steals the show. From the outside, this place is unlike any other in LA, something between a tiny villa and a castle. The outdoor seating and the little faux pool looks like a great place for a party. The inside has the perfect amount of lighting, at least during the day. They also have some mafia style booths that make this place a perfect date destination due to the amount of privacy. I did put the food down a bit, but honestly, it is solid. The cheese bread is very cheesy and has a good garlic quantity, which some places are do skimp on. I split the beef lasagna and the chicken parmesan with my friend. The lasagna was fresh and cheesy but a bit sweet. The pasta side that came with the order was also a bit sweet and I think that it is primarily due to the tomatoes in the sauce. If you are looking for a sweeter Italian sauce rather than savory or zesty, this is the place for you. I usually judge an Italian place by their chicken or eggplant parm, and this place passes the test. Sadly there weren't too many people here for lunch and I hope that this is due to the area being primarily residential. This place definitely needs some recognition and foot traffic. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The only reason that they get a star from me is for the decor/ ambiance and overall set up of the place. It looks adorable when you drive by it on the street. I have been here a total of two times. The first time with my boyfriend to grab a quick bite. The food was bland, the pasta was a little oily. However, and this is a big however... The second time I decided to bring my family and had written off the mediocre food that I had the first time here as maybe a one time thing and that I should order something different. FIRST, our waiter seemed to be very lost or unknowing of a lot of things, my sister wanted salmon but he suggested the halibut which she was open to. Then he comes back and says that they ran out of halibut as well. Overall the staff seemed untrained and very unprofessional. SECOND, one of the waiters spilled ice water on both of my sisters back as he was serving us our drinks. Which happens I get it okay... And lastly... As I was eating my salad, I found a little friend on my plate. Yes, there was a dead cricket at least two inches long on my plate. I was mortified. Wow. It's hard to imagine how this place stays in business. The ambiance is ok (the star), but that's where the magic ends. First, the proprietress acted like she was put out to seat us. Second, the menu... wow... like Michael S (whom I don't know) said, it really needs some proofreading. We counted no fewer than 8 spelling errors in the appetizers alone (I took a photo but will have to upload it later). Third, no alcohol. Srsly. They can open a bottle of something you bring with you (probably at a steep corkage), but they can't sell you alcohol. Fourth, the prices are outrageous. They're what I call "fancy food" prices, but the place is like a fancy Shaky's. We decided just to go with an appetizer, since I'm super cheap and only spend money if I'm drinking. The bruchetta (on a "baget") was sub-prime tomatoes mixed with grayish basil. The proscuitto was of ok quality, but the whole presentation looked so ... weird. It looked seriously inedible. The flavor was ok, but 4 hours later, I'm still burping it up. It definitely wasn't worth the $10... I could make something much more edible using fresh ingredients and some Safeway bread. The highlight of the evening was when our bite was over and we escaped out the back door to check out the grounds. There are some weird cabanas on a plaza. It looks like an ideal place for a party, but the business was decidedly unparty-like. This used to be Villa Cinzano. The new owners have lightened the inside up a bit and cleaned up the outside. The menu (which could use some serious proof-reading) says they are an Italian/Mexican restaurant. Okaay. We ordered a caprese for an appetizer. I ordered mushroom ravioli and my wife had chicken marsala. The caprese arrived. Faded supermarket tomatoes, what Vons calls "fresh mozzarealla" and...lettuce. I think there was a basil leaf or two in there but mostly it was lettuce. Lettuce!? After quite a wait, our main dishes arrived. The ravioli might have been fresh but after the caprese I sure have my doubts. The sauce was something I could have made and I'm no gourmet cook. My wife thought her chicken was great. Then came the bill: $50! For lettuce instead of basil I get charged that much? The food was two or three stars but the bill made sure my review would be two stars. The food was hands down the best Italian food I have ever had, I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and my boyfriend had the lasagna, both were melt in your mouth delicious and for an appetizer we had a half order of garlic bread that was so delicious we ordered a full order to go and take home with us. For dessert we ordered the carrot cake and were not disappointed. I was initially scared because this was a party for a large amount people, but Villa Terraza EASILY accommodated with it's large outdoor area and valet parking. I took my dad here for his birthday dinner and was beyond impressed. We started our dinner with very tasty cheesy garlic bread and salads. For our main course, my mom had their artichoke chicken special, my dad had the beef lasagna, my daughter had the Mac n cheese and I had the trout dish. Everything was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. I ate everything on my plate except for 2 small pieces of broccoli and that was only out of preference. It is also family friendly. We were seated in an area where we could fit our stroller for my baby and a high chair for my toddler. They have a variety of dishes in the kids menu which is convenient since I have a picky little toddler. To top it off the waiter served my dad a delicious birthday cake and the staff (and us) sang happy birthday to him. My dad was happy, we were happy and I can't wait to go back. This restaurant was wonderful. I had a celebration for my Wife's birthday with 11 people. The food was really good. I don't normally order wine from itlian resturants because it's usually crap, but the red wine I had was perfect with my steak. What made all the difference was Nancy Daley. She made the night so special for us. She played her keyboard and sang songs. It was my first time here and I felt like the night could not have been better. I felt so at home. This is the only really nice, white tablecloth restaurant anywhere near our home in lake View Terrace. We spend many special occasions there. The building is really neat, built to look like a European Villa. Wait staff is excellent. Their food is delicious. We can especially recommend the steaks (which are actually made the way you ordered them) and the overly indulgent cheesy-garlic bread. All the menu items are good, though. Our only complaint is that the very small dining room gets way too noisy easily and there's no escape if it's too cold to go outside. On Xmas Eve we were near a large (16ish) party who were having a really good time-- which we wouldn't begrudge them, but one especially loud woman sounded like a goat when she (frequently) laughed; the rest were equally loud to be heard over her, but did not sound like goats. Pro tip: when you find yourself in your group dinner shouting to be heard, you're being too loud! We were also there when they had a live singer who was amplified to an ear-splitting level. Understand, it's a really small dining room! So we left. Outside is lovely most of the year though. read more

The service was also really good! I had the lasagna with a side of sausage, and it was delicious! My girlfriend had the trout, and while she really liked it, after tasting my lasagna, she wished she would've ordered that instead! The star of the night was the garlic cheese bread.
