Nice lunch spot! Enjoyed the service here at the bar area and even chatted with the cook and owner. Very nice people. I sampled three tacos and took some squash blossoms to go. Everything was delicious. Want to come back and try the Mushroom taco. Although this place serves adult beverages, recommend checking out Blue Door (cash only) beforehand next door.

This evening we had our Yelp event at yes chef tacos La Barra on Alameda in Burbank I'll do the parking is a little challenging there's room across the street in Walgreens to park I spoke with John the owner and he explained to me that they opened five months ago The restaurant is very clean and spotless I got two Baja grilled fish tacos, one Baja regular taco, one mandatory mushroom taco, and a Hullacoche taco! I also purchased a ceviche Mexicana, full of fish and avocado Their tortillas are made by hand My friend also had an Agua Fresca de Peppino, which is a cucumber water, she truly love it So in two weeks, it's my friend's birthday and I will be taking her there I highly recommend you try that place

First time here. Tried the 4 happy hour tacos; Mushroom, Baja Fish, Mango Fish Cole Slaw Fish. All were excellent. I think I liked the Baja and the slaw taco was a close second. Great service! We'll be back!

Nice place for chill vibes, good food and awesome service. Stopped in for tacos on the way home after work, had a chance to meet the owner, John. Great conversation, talked about the place and Los Angeles. I ordered to go and enjoyed the Hot and Angry Shrimp Tacos and the Elote. Buen lugar para comer!

We've been in about 6 times now and we're always happy. The best tacos in Burbank, as well as delicious apps, Civiche, Aguachile... all so good! Owner John couldn't be a better host. Server, Sophie, is lovely. Great vibe, with numerous tvs. Can't miss at Yes Chef!

Tacos, taaacos, we talking bout tacos!?!?!?! The amazing flavors from a taco, this Chef has taken my flavor buds for a roller coaster ride. The service was great, the place was packed, and they still were attentive. The restaurant had a bar area, and it was such a nice relax feel. Patio seating as well. Overall it just missed being Ocean side, that's the vibe.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but something was just missing and for the price, I'd say a bit overhyped unfortunately. The staff was very kind and the interior is a cute little set up but the tacos were lacking a bit for what you pay for them. They were good but not GREAT. We ordered 2 hot and angry shrimp tacos. A Baja fish taco and mango habanero fish taco. We also ended up getting the mango one with shrimp (which was an up charge). For an appetizer we also shared a quesadilla. We wished the tacos had a bit more sauce and flavor. As a fish taco they should automatically be served with lime or lemon but we did have to ask for some in which they did provide. They only have one bottled hot sauce choice which was a bummer because it didn't blend well with ALL the different tacos. Wish they had different options of hot sauce to mix and match depending on the type of flavor taco you order. Some do better with green some do better with reds. But the tacos were just a bit dry. The mango and Baja were the best. The hot and angry gave more of a Chinese food flavoring taste it was a bit interesting. For 5 tacos and 2 quesadillas (one with asada) we paid 95$ with tax and tip.

Really really tasty! This is a small but very welcoming space with really kind staff members. I ordered a few items to try them out. The belly de la Calle (pork belly) taco ($9) was very tasty and I would gladly get again. It is one big piece of pork belly not cut up pieces like I anticipated but it was so flavorful and a win all around. The achiote and miso chicken taco ($9) had the most tender chicken, the flavor was subtle but delicious. The Baja style taco ($7) is your traditional fish taco and that was possibly my favorite! It was a nostalgic bite with familiar flavors, you can also taste that the batter is made in house, a simple but perfectly executed bite. I also got the ribeye taco, flavor wise it was tasty but not as tender as I anticipated and at $10 a taco I wouldn't get that again. I also ordered their squash blossom appetizer ($10) squash blossoms filled with a ricotta and herb mix, battered and fried. An enjoyable bite but not something I would run back for. All in my total was just under $50 so do know this is a bit on the pricey side however the quality of what you get truly makes it worth it! I look forward to coming back

Jalapeño slaw taco with swai fish

The reviews here are misleading - I trusted Yelp and ordered four jalapeño slaw tacos, one chicken taco, and an order of quesadilla. The name 'jalapeño' suggests spicy, or at least a little salty and slightly spicy, but what I got was a saccharine-sweet taco drowning in sauce and slaw - all I could taste was mayo mixed with sugar - which I'm extremely confused, why would someone add sugar to a dish titled jalapeño. It was a terrible, extremely disappointing experience. The chicken taco was decent but had the same overly sweet slaw; the quesadilla was the only decent thing, thank the lord, since it didn't have the slaw. Paid $60 just to end up tossing 70% of the food.

I would describe the food here as casual fancy, this isn't a typical taco spot, it's a lot like a cafe as the name states but they don't come off as bougie either. But overall the food is amazing, I ended up trying the chicken, fish, pork belly, & ribeye tacos and they do a great job with the toppings and sauce they use for those. Speaking of sauce, I'm not crazy about shrimp but my friends did get the aguachile and that sauce was good enough to get me to actually try a bit of the shrimp with it. A nice spicy kick with enough flavor so the heat doesn't over power your taste buds. They also have a beer and wine list, the beers options are on draft or bottle with some local options from nearby Brew Yard brewing. This restaurant is a really cool spot that's a step up from regular taco spots with great quality food.

Just tried this new spot open up in Burbank. Very friendly staff and cool set up. We ordered 3 tacos each and a few sides and we realized we over ordered. Overall food was tasty and an excellent portion but I wish I ordered 2 tacos in place of 3 . Like anything eating at the restaurant is always better but take out is just as good. They have a cool set up inside and a small covered patio outside.

I was in Glendale and I told my wife that I wanted to go to a taco place that had the best Yelp reviews. Well I found Yes Chef Tacos La Barra & Cafe and it had a solid 5.0. How is this possible. I will tell you that Glendale reviews are a tough bunch. I've noticed that even great places have their share of tough reviews. We were going to have dinner later so I wanted to get something small that we could split between us. I set the GPS to go to Yes Chef and we were off! I found parking on the street and we walked into this really nice, brand new spot. The lady helping us was super nice and despite us ordering so little and splitting, she provided excellent service. She told us that this was a brand new spot and they were proud of it. I took a look at the menu and ordered something I have never seen in Honolulu. Squash blossoms. I had no idea what it could be but I wanted something different. They came out and my wife took one bite and said it was SO GOOD! I took a bite and WOW! So tasty. Filled with cheese, jalapeño, I mean it was just so tasty!!!! A++++++++ Next up was a single taco. Ribeye taco..... The first thing I noticed was that the tortilla seemed to have cheese that was cooked on the top. It wasn't a flimsy tortilla - it was hand made. One bite and we were sold. honestly, we kind of wished we didn't have dinner planned after this. I kept thinking about this excellent place and the chef even came out and talked to us. We told them it was so good and I am keeping my word of giving them 5 stars. Great place, new, clean, with excellent service and more importantly the best upscale taco I have ever had. It's that good people!!!!! As Rod U. says - destination worthy and it wouldn't surprise me if this Chef and place gets serious accolades.

Wife and I try to get here, now and then, but it's been a long time since we moved from Glendale to…read moreCulver City.. We finally got there, today, 4pm (on a Saturday) and the food and the staff were excellent. We ordered the Queso fundido for appetizer and as long as you're in the mood for bubbly cheese and chorizo, this is great with chips, but they also give you a choice of flour or corn tortillas with it, as well. For main, we tried the Molcajete, which we haven't had, anywhere, since we lived down in O.C. It turned out to be better than what we had in O.C., from the sauce to the meats and cheese to the peppers. Also, their chicken tortilla soup was good (as a side with the Molcajete) with lots of veggies in it. The staff were wonderful, though.. From the first waiter who allowed us to change from a table to a booth to our waiter, Jose, who was friendly and looked after us (also quick on getting back to us, every time). And a special thanks to Yennie (possibly, spelled with a J', if so, "lo siento") who also helped us and even when *someone* (me) had a party foul with a margarita, she quickly helped out and was super nice about it. After a trip to the dentist (for a crown replacement) and a long week, everyone at Don Cuco's allowed us to relax and the food (and margaritas ;-) ) made it perfect.

Chips were warm and hot out of the fryer. Salsa is on hot side, not mild. Both free refill and we had to stop ourselves after refill because we haven't gotten to the food yet. Ok for the food - Meatballs in soup had lots of cumin, I liked it but if you hate cumin then skip it. - Strong margarita drink that my gf got drunk off of one lol they sure load it up - Zarapes, one chicken one beef. beef was really good. - Lobster Enchiladas: ok i have a lot to say about this one, it was different, but not in a bad way. The garlic rice and black bean side was really yummy, better than the sides on the zarapes. I ordered it because i needed something different and yes it was. Now there is one problem with this dish and its that they don't use real lobster, its a imitation crab/lobster meat like product shaped differently and made from fish and nowhere on the menu says that which is not ethical business practice. That said it didn't taste bad but its not real. Overall I would comeback, overall the food was good but not groundbreaking. The Mixed alcohol drinks is definitely get your moneys worth and is better than the other place across the street. Steak is good for the fajita like dishes, Seafood dish tastes good but not real lobster chunks, i would probably try the regular fish next time.

A fun fact, they have a large table that has been in the family for decades. They offer both inside and patio seating. That means your dog is welcome. The mole is outstanding. They have 4 kinds to choose from. It is rich, complex, and full of authentic flavor. The chicken tacos were fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. They are plastered on top of hand made tortillas with a pico de gallo. Order the flight of mole and pour it on top. The location is great and makes for a fun dining experience, especially if you're looking for something a little different from the usual Mexican restaurant. Their tequilla bar makes for a fun experience. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. However service is hit or miss. Sometimes only one person is serving the inside section. The only downside is the parking situation, which can be a bit challenging. We usually park across the street and walk over. Highly recommend for anyone craving excellent mole, tasty tacos, and great margaritas! You can also check out the stables next door.

But unfortunately, they were really unfriendly & understaffed and the waiter/bartender was extremely bothered we were there and seemed very overwhelmed. I don't know who Celia is but maybe get more staff in the kitchen and a hostess and more waitress/waiters. We went in Saturday Valentines night dinner right before 6pm and found parking to be easy and should have taken that as a sign but figured we get better service. NOPE! The parking not is just really small and the people sitting had ordered and committed to staying I guess. Keep reading and you'll get my drift! Honestly, We assumed it would be a great night romantic dinner. Then, we walked in and felt so neglected. No hostess to greet or seat you. The bus man or waiter said wait here and cleaned a table when 3 were available. It looks like the three employees were doing everything and at the same time doing nothing! It was comical at first. He sat us finally and then we ordered. Appetizers and a Molcajete and two nonalcoholic drinks. By now 32mins passed. No chips & salsa. No nothing... we should have just left. But we were lazy to leave elsewhere with no reservations on Valentine day. He brought me a drink from the bar like if I ordered it, I hate to say he might have memory issues. Then he noticed we still don't have our drinks and he had to ask again what I ordered. Now 50mins passed and at another 15 mins the main course came before the appetizers were served so I cancelled it. It just seems like they didn't care for anyone else but the people at the bar. Ppl were just walking in and ended up leaving or seating themselves. Majority left and they didn't even notice! Not welcoming at all and as for the food. I feel like everything was previously frozen as the chicken and meat was very chewy-leather like. The cheese was cold. And just grateful that we didn't get sick because it wasn't cooked all the way. When I go into a restaurant, I expect good service and quality food. I unfortunately won't be returning. Such a shame because this place has western character straight out of a saloon and can't speak for the drinks as we didn't even eat our entire meal and wanted to get the hell out. Do better because this could be a cute hangout spot!
