First time here, and what a pleasant surprise! My friend and I were originally planning to eat at another restaurant, but it wasn't open, so we decided to give this place a try. Best decision ever! We're both Latinas and we love our tacos, so trust me when I say the Mango Habanero taco was incredible. It literally melts in your mouth! It was so good that I had to order a second one. Our server was so sweet and recommended the Palo Santo Latte, and I'm so glad she did. It had the perfect smoky flavor and was absolutely delicious. We also had the chance to meet the owner and told him it was our first visit. I let him know his restaurant is truly a hidden gem, and I made sure to compliment the chef because the food was outstanding. This place is an exceptional spot in a cut you'd normally speed by, but trust me - it's a gem. I ordered the squash blossoms appetizer - exquisite! A pork belly taco - divine! And a delectable rib eye taco. Topped with carmelized onions, a dollop of fresh guac, and a bit of cheese melted onto the tortilla. I'm usually a purist but in this case - I'll allow it. Lastly, the owner really really cares! He's a personable guy checking on everyone while making interesting conversation. He talked me into a white Grenache which was the perfect kind of crisp needed this Saturday afternoon. Don't dismiss this place as a hole in the wall. It's date night worthy. Bring your sweetie. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but something was just missing and for the price, I'd say a bit overhyped unfortunately. The staff was very kind and the interior is a cute little set up but the tacos were lacking a bit for what you pay for them. They were good but not GREAT. We ordered 2 hot and angry shrimp tacos. A Baja fish taco and mango habanero fish taco. We also ended up getting the mango one with shrimp (which was an up charge). For an appetizer we also shared a quesadilla. We wished the tacos had a bit more sauce and flavor. As a fish taco they should automatically be served with lime or lemon but we did have to ask for some in which they did provide. They only have one bottled hot sauce choice which was a bummer because it didn't blend well with ALL the different tacos. Wish they had different options of hot sauce to mix and match depending on the type of flavor taco you order. Some do better with green some do better with reds. But the tacos were just a bit dry. The mango and Baja were the best. The hot and angry gave more of a Chinese food flavoring taste it was a bit interesting. For 5 tacos and 2 quesadillas (one with asada) we paid 95$ with tax and tip. read more

Really really tasty! This is a small but very welcoming space with really kind staff members. I ordered a few items to try them out. The belly de la Calle (pork belly) taco ($9) was very tasty and I would gladly get again. It is one big piece of pork belly not cut up pieces like I anticipated but it was so flavorful and a win all around. The achiote and miso chicken taco ($9) had the most tender chicken, the flavor was subtle but delicious. The Baja style taco ($7) is your traditional fish taco and that was possibly my favorite! It was a nostalgic bite with familiar flavors, you can also taste that the batter is made in house, a simple but perfectly executed bite. I also got the ribeye taco, flavor wise it was tasty but not as tender as I anticipated and at $10 a taco I wouldn't get that again. I also ordered their squash blossom appetizer ($10) squash blossoms filled with a ricotta and herb mix, battered and fried. An enjoyable bite but not something I would run back for. All in my total was just under $50 so do know this is a bit on the pricey side however the quality of what you get truly makes it worth it! I look forward to coming back read more

The reviews here are misleading - I trusted Yelp and ordered four jalapeño slaw tacos, one chicken taco, and an order of quesadilla. The name 'jalapeño' suggests spicy, or at least a little salty and slightly spicy, but what I got was a saccharine-sweet taco drowning in sauce and slaw - all I could taste was mayo mixed with sugar - which I'm extremely confused, why would someone add sugar to a dish titled jalapeño. It was a terrible, extremely disappointing experience. The chicken taco was decent but had the same overly sweet slaw; the quesadilla was the only decent thing, thank the lord, since it didn't have the slaw. Paid $60 just to end up tossing 70% of the food. read more

The food was SO good and the service was amazing. It's a small unassuming spot but the food is so good. The chef or owner told us they used to be a food truck and upgraded to a store front so we thought that was very exciting. We had the fried artichoke and it was insanely delicious and thick. Fried squash blossoms delicious and a little kick. We ordered a bunch of tacos and they were all superb. Then we had a couple of iced lattes with house made vanilla bean syrup. I would describe the food here as casual fancy, this isn't a typical taco spot, it's a lot like a cafe as the name states but they don't come off as bougie either. But overall the food is amazing, I ended up trying the chicken, fish, pork belly, & ribeye tacos and they do a great job with the toppings and sauce they use for those. Speaking of sauce, I'm not crazy about shrimp but my friends did get the aguachile and that sauce was good enough to get me to actually try a bit of the shrimp with it. A nice spicy kick with enough flavor so the heat doesn't over power your taste buds. They also have a beer and wine list, the beers options are on draft or bottle with some local options from nearby Brew Yard brewing. Just tried this new spot open up in Burbank. Very friendly staff and cool set up. We ordered 3 tacos each and a few sides and we realized we over ordered. Overall food was tasty and an excellent portion but I wish I ordered 2 tacos in place of 3 . Like anything eating at the restaurant is always better but take out is just as good. I was in Glendale and I told my wife that I wanted to go to a taco place that had the best Yelp reviews. Well I found Yes Chef Tacos La Barra & Cafe and it had a solid 5.0. How is this possible. I will tell you that Glendale reviews are a tough bunch. I've noticed that even great places have their share of tough reviews. We were going to have dinner later so I wanted to get something small that we could split between us. I set the GPS to go to Yes Chef and we were off! I found parking on the street and we walked into this really nice, brand new spot. The lady helping us was super nice and despite us ordering so little and splitting, she provided excellent service. She told us that this was a brand new spot and they were proud of it. I took a look at the menu and ordered something I have never seen in Honolulu. Squash blossoms. I had no idea what it could be but I wanted something different. They came out and my wife took one bite and said it was SO GOOD! I took a bite and WOW! So tasty. Filled with cheese, jalapeño, I mean it was just so tasty!!!! A++++++++ Next up was a single taco. Ribeye taco..... The first thing I noticed was that the tortilla seemed to have cheese that was cooked on the top. It wasn't a flimsy tortilla - it was hand made. One bite and we were sold. honestly, we kind of wished we didn't have dinner planned after this. I kept thinking about this excellent place and the chef even came out and talked to us. We told them it was so good and I am keeping my word of giving them 5 stars. Great place, new, clean, with excellent service and more importantly the best upscale taco I have ever had. A lucky find! I hesitate to say I saw this on instagram because it was so much better. We had the Mexican ceviche, which was very delicious - the fish was tender and fresh. My husband ordered the Ribeye taco, super tender, sitting on a roasted chili and topped with guacamole. Great mix of flavors. I wanted a fish taco, and on the recommendation of the waitress ordered the mango one. The fish had both a light flaky quality and a density, the sweet mango balanced by the spice. The corn tortillas on both were super fresh, cooked perfectly and held up well to both fillings without tearing or getting mushy. We all walked away from our first time here saying "Damn! That was AMAZING!" My lovely wife said that they were the best tacos she has ever had and she's a SoCal native so has had MANY tacos! Interesting and unique menu with superb flavors. This ain't no Taco Bell, baby! I had the Angry Shrimp taco and the squash blossom appetizer; both were so good. Wife had the squash blossom taco and the Baja taco, friend had the ribeye taco and the mango habanero taco. All of us gave 2 thumbs up and five stars! WOW this place is FANTASTIC!!! Fish tacos were AMAZING - I only tried the basic Baja and the Jalapeño tacos but wow were they good, far better than my expectations. The jalapeño one was my favorite, really not very spicy at all so if you're afraid of spice don't let that hold you back, just give it a try. They remind me of best fish taco in Los Feliz, which previously was my favorite fish taco, but this place may have them beat. Highly recommended!!! read more

New favorite tacos! Everything was well prepared, good service, nice waitress, and excellent food. We tried 4 tacos including the fish taco with mango, it was very nicely fried and crunchy, and the mushroom taco was delicious. Also had the beef and the chicken, both very good. We want to try everything on the menu. Only slight issue was that they dont have an assortment of homemade salsas to choose from, surprising because the tacos deserve more than a bottle of sauce from the store. I will be dreaming about these tacos!! I found this place on Google and saw the great reviews, so we decided to stop in for lunch while staying in Burbank. The owner was welcoming and told us a little about the business; how he was running a food truck for 3 years and now their brick and mortar has been open for just a couple of months. He gave us some recommendations from the menu and everything we tried was amazing! The fresh tortillas were unlike any tortillas I've had before a so flavorful and the texture was perfect. THE BEST TACOS !!! Fresh homemade corn tortillas, delicious fish , excellent toppings and salsa !, the mushroom taco, steak taco and squash blossom taco all AMAZING! I was bummed when the food truck they had was gone from the brewery but now that they are in a storefront I can eat here often. Guisados is the only other taco place I love but not we have two to eat at. Beer and wine too! The meat was perfectly seasoned and super tender + had a delish grilled pepper + huge glop of guacamole. Second favorite was squash blossom since I've never had anything like it. It was crunchy with perfect sweet and spicy salsa on top. The fish tacos (Baja and Mango Habanero) were so decadently crisp it was like eating Japanese tempura! The service was great (very kind + efficient)! I did not have to wait that long for our food. Ambiance is very casual and clean which I think is perfect for a taco spot.
