This was my third visit -Ordered bagels and sandwiches for my family-all of our children were home from college this weekend. When I got home, I had the wrong items and my son would have gone into anaphylactic shock if he ate anything in the order. I called and the girl never said sorry or anything and said that "we will make it up to you next time ". Unacceptable! Went back to Village Bagels- spoke with manager- again never said sorry or tried to make my actual order-said would just refund the money and then asked if I was handed the bag? Of course I was handed the bag, what an inappropriate question! We will not be back and I urge others to not go either. The service is poor and the food isn't that great. Would definitely not come back here. Bagels are flavorless, even the onion bagel and the everything bagel!!! basically they taste like regular bland bread with bland seeds, Bagels are small and thin and very expensive. Sandwich makers are kids, he threw my sandwich into the container so hard half of it fell apart, he had to put it back together. One bagel that they "roasted" was cold and dry. Not a good experience. I went here on a Saturday morning for the first time with my fiancé. We both really enjoyed our sandwiches! The bagels weren't the greatest, but I personally really enjoy my bacon egg and cheese. The price was reasonable too compared to other bagel shops I have been to in the area. I would definitely recommend making a trip here! read more

Sanitation is in question, no one wearing gloves, kids wiping his nose then touching the food - he did not wash his hands. One of the kids was eating bacon while he was putting it in the microwave - also didn't wash his hands. All the bagels were toasted then dumped on the dirty counter. Zero supervision. read more

I think the main problem with this spot is the bagels just aren't great at all. I've had at least have dozen different kinds and even if you get it toasted or not they are super super dry and lack actual flavor. Even the salt content in the bagels is low, there really is no enjoyable bite of the dough itself. Having said that, they offer many flavors of bagels and cream cheese spreads. It's a quick local spot to get your weekly fix. The cookies and desserts though are 10/10 read more

I love stopping in here on my way to work. No matter what I order they have it to me in 15 minutes - hot and fresh. The coffee is always hot and probably my favorite in the area. The guys who own the place are very nice and are always there working hard. Definitely a little south jersey gem. read more

only usually stop here by default, because there isn't much around. Their bagels are extremely overpriced (almost $8 for a breakfast sandwich) they are really bland a doughy.... customer service is pretty bad too, it's a bunch of kids, and I literally just left there after standing at the counter for over 5 mins and not being helped. I was the only one in the store and there were literally 6 employees standing around, feeding themselves and just ignoring me. I left and considered it a win I didn't have to waste $8 on a gross sandwich. I'd recommend finding another spot if your look for good food and good service. read more

Thank God for this bagel place. Plain bagel with veggie cream cheese is where it's at. Love the Pork Roll Egg and Cheese too. For a little flair add a hash brown patty to any sandwich. read more

Favorite place for bagels. nowhere else compares once you've tried this place. Sadly they're only open until 2pm most days, as its a morning place. but if I'm in town in the mornings, I do stop in. They have so many different flavored cream cheeses & some seasonal ones. The Bagels also have a wide assortment, you could do so many combos with them. My personal go to is a Cheddar Works bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. (their most popular bagel, must try, it is SO good) they are always so polite and nice here too. My advice is i would go the earlier the better, as the bagels do sell out quickly. read more

Fresh. Homemade. Hearty. This place is unlike any other NJ bagel place that I've ever been too. Although the bagels are slightly smaller (aka probably "normal" portion sized) and not as fluffy as the usual NJ bagel, they have a unique heartiness that makes the flavor UNREAL. I have never had bagels like these before, and I love them! I recently tried the rye bagel after a long run and it absolutely hit the spot! It had a soft, dense, nuttiness that was delicious. I'm looking forward to trying the season pumpkin flavor!! If there's one piece of advice that I could give to non-residents about getting a NJ bagel on the weekend, it's that you either order ahead or go early - places like this one sell out of the popular flavors fast (and for good reason). read more

We randomly stopped here on our drive back to DC. Absolutely delish handmade bagels. The cream cheese was thick and generous too. My husband had a breakfast sandwich with egg, maple sausage and bacon and said it was delicious as well. I had a cinnamon sugar bagel and it had nice big chunks of sugar and was chewy and fresh tasting. Yum! We enjoyed the bagels so much we took some to go with us so we can bring them home & enjoy during the work week! read more

My continuing quest to find a decent bagel in southwest NJ. This wasn't it. I got here on a Saturday around 12:30 ish. Most of the bagel varieties were sold out. I should have turned around and left when I saw the bagels that remained were pale & the crust was not shiny. The latter would have indicated the bagels were either boiled (traditional) or at least steamed first. Neither are done here. I took the last Poppy & sesame bagel (I guess it's closest to an everything bagel) & got the lox cream cheese spread on it. The bagel had a good flavor but since it is only baked, the texture was poor. The lox spread had the pink appearance of commercially made & just a mild salty flavor with a hint of lox. Hence my search for a decent bagel continues. The place was clean & the staff was friendly so they get the 2 stars for that. read more

Good service, limited hours. Nice selection of sandwiches and spreads. They close when they run out of bagels I think, which makes sense. The bagels themselves are on the bready side though. Not a NY style bagel with that crunchy chewiness going on. Their bagels taste more like really dense bread in a bagel shape. Update: Have come here multiple times now, and every time it's a repeat of the last. We call to place an order for pick-up (they don't answer even when calling multiple times..and if they do answer, they are probably telling you they are out of bagels) so we order in store, only to find out 1-2 of our top bagel choices are sold out. This happens every Friday, Saturday and Sunday by about 9:30AM. Not sometimes, e v e r y time. Never knew this place was here. I had been to the Harrison House quite a few times, as well as the Amish market. Just never noticed this hidden little gem, until now. Was waiting for another store in the area to open when my wife and I were looking for a quick noon time bite. I had a turkey club on a pump-rye bagel with an iced tea and my wife had lox cream cheese on an everything bagel with a juice. Bagels that are similar in texture to good ones in central and northern NJ are apparently hard to come by in Gloucester County. I wish these had a chewier outside crust, but they were good. I added a star for the nice variety available. I especially liked the poppy seed/ sesame seed combination, which I have not had before. Quick, polite service and good prices. Not a bad bagel place but just not as good as some others. I have been hear a few times and I always walk out remembering that the bagel is just mediocre and pretty tiny. The service is fast which is a plus and I have only gotten bagels with cream cheese so I can't speak for their sandwiches. Village Bagels has been my go-to breakfast place in Mullica Hill for at least 15 years! I love the service, love the food, and the prices are just right. They always have a nice variety of bagels available (provided you show up before your favorites are gone). The cinnamon chocolate chip bagel with regular cream cheese is my personal favorite combo, but a porkroll egg and cheese on a works bagel is also up there when I'm looking for savory. If I'm there closer to lunch time, I like getting the pizza bagels. Their bagels aren't huge, but they're satisfying. This place is a great local, family owned and operated spot. I was in town on business for a four day weekend. One of my business associates recommended Village Bagels for breakfast the first day. I had the lox and bagels. I have to tell you that I haven't had a fresher bagel EVER! Turns out I had breakfast there for four mornings straight. I am so glad that Tyler recommended Village Bagels. As a former restaurateur I was impressed with the overall cleanliness, prompt/professional service and top notch quality products. You better believe I will be back and recommend this place to my cousins who live just 20 minutes away. Good bagel shop with great service and alright bagels. My only complaints are, for some reason they don't make egg bagels and they tend to run out of bagels early, like by 9:30am early. Other than that it's a nice place to stop and eat. They make great bagel sandwiches but the bagels themselves, are nothing to write home about. read more
