Little shop for breakfast, open early when I popped in at 8am and they have the full menu available so you can get a hamburger early. I ended up with the ham and cheese panini and chips, smaller size so not IHOP size. Enough to satisfy. Plenty of coffee and other options. I had an iced tea. read more

Love love love this coffee shop. I've been coming here for years since I was in college to study, work, read, or meet friends. The service is great. The staff are very kind. The food selection is wonderful and the drinks are great as well. It usually doesn't get busy so there's almost always a place to sit either in private or with friends. Always get the grilled chicken pesto panini when I come here! So flavorful, I'd definitely recommend. Unfortunately, sides (fries, salad, etc.) cost extra and don't come with the sandwiches. Service is okay, employees don't necessarily go out of their way to be especially nice, but it's fine. It was all just a little too cold for comfort. And it wasn't because they were busy. Our food came right out, so I'm not really sure why the food was cold. But I would go again. First time having the famous (dare I say infamous) Taylor ham /pork roll bagel sandwich and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You walk in and can order on a kiosk /iPad which is nice especially if you are indecisive and need time to browse. It's not lack for competition this cafe venue has 4+ Stars on Yelp. On the same BLOCK you have three coffee shops including Starbucks. If that doesn't show you how beloved and well respected this place is, I don't know what else you need to see. Its a trendy spot that was doing things right, even before trendy became trendy. Apparently its a chain, but you wouldn't be able to tell from the community feel. Picked the latter as per cashier's suggestion and it was a perfect afternoon snack. Its a nice warm day to sit at RocknJoe and have some coffee. Loved that this place offered a some outside seating for guest, lounge type seating, and table seating. Its a bustling shop with live music and lots of customers. I wouldnt say its the best place to study due to the noise; lots of sound echo-ing and excess noise. But if you have headphones you should be ok. Service was prompt. I loved they had a great menu for hot breakfast items like omelettes, lunch items like sandwiches, and just your average coffee shop snacks. I tried the Raspberry Cookie Crumble latte and egg/bacon/cheese croissant. Definitely enjoyed both and will be back again to dine in for lunch and coffee soon. read more

Rockn' Joe is a solid little coffee spot in Millburn and I recently found out this is not the only outpost, this seems to be quite a little chain in NJ (3 or 4 stores). It does give off that chainy vibe which I'm not opposed to, just has that vibe. The music was solid (ask Sheila A) and it was quiet. The staff was friendly and the coffee was good. The internet was super slow and intermittent which was disappointing as I was there to set up shop and work, which made it a bit hard. None of the food rang out so I passed, but definitely a solid option for coffee! read more

I really, really like this place. The lattes are great and so is the food. The staff is friendly and attentive. Very comfortable atmosphere with oversized leather chairs and tables. I have read where the service can sometimes be slow but I usually go on Sunday mornings and the last thing I want to feel is rushed. I'm usually moving in slow motion and if they are, as well, I hadn't noticed. Yesterday the bacon smelled so good that I had to order some. Was thin, crisp and delicious, although not a normal accompaniment to oatmeal. If I had one word of advice/criticism, they should make their own oatmeal, not serve instant. Otherwise, AOK. Oh, and the guitarist yesterday was great. Just trying to figure out why anyone would go to Starbucks when this gem is less than a block away. Hmmmm. read more

I came in yesterday quickly in need of an ice coffee. I've been hearing about this place for years and I just so happen to be in the area and stumble in. Place was clean and quiet yet packed. This is a very nice cafe to come to in Millburn. Casual atmosphere and sometimes with live music organized by local musicians. I think the current owners are new but they do a very nice job with the quality of the food and coffee. It is located across from Taylor Park if you want to take coffee to go to the park but the restaurant offers outdoor seating also. I have to say they all are pretty much very well organized and clean - their coffee are better than Starbucks's and they also carry fresh breakfast and side dishes - Coffee; as my past reviews can suggest, I love a great cup of coffee around the world . The coffee ground here are strong yet very smooth - Try a " flat white " if u enjoy a strong yet smooth cup of coffee I ordered a bagel with butter ; I have to say the butter taste almost home made great Flavor and I think it has a hint of sea salt - best butter I have tasted In many years ; Great surprise to find in a great coffee shop : The place has free wifi and very comfy leather couches ; And the staff are always on point . Came here as a workplace alternative to the usual Hoboken Location and I can say that I liked it though I didn't love it. The coffee was a little expensive but shout out to Yosteph for buying it for me! I loved the ambiance of the place. It totally went with the name and the music was 100% spot on. It was open and airy, the chairs were comfy and seemed like a great work space, until...THE ATTACK OF THE SLOW INTERNET! It took forever to actually connect to the internet. And since the whole reason for being here was to get work done it seemed counterproductive. And once you finally managed to connect to the internet, it kept dropping out. Why? I have no idea but I can tell you that it sucked. If the internet connection here wasn't so crappy it would def be a great work-place location. read more

I came here one night based on the Yelp reviews figuring that it would be a good spot for desserts. I was very disappointed the place was deserted. There was no food available and any of the desserts like the cookies were covered in flies so disgusting. How could they serve people like that ? So unsanitary. The place is nice inside and you get a much different feel than the inside of Starbucks. I would say it's more casual in your day to day activities, as in just sitting here to read a book rather than working on a paper. They offer a lot of sandwiches with some unique combinations that are tasty. These sandwiches are much lighter than the ones you would get at the deli across the street, but go for the same price. In that same breath, you can also get avocado on a sandwich, which is always a plus. This place would be nice for brunch (minus the bagels) and I'm sure they make some awesome coffee mixed drinks, but I didn't try any. This is the third location I have been to, and sadly I'm disappointed by the amount of time this place took to fulfill my basic order. The two stars are for the coffee--I wish I could give this place a better rating because the latte I got is amazing, and the girl at the counter was very sweet. Yet waiting around for over ten minutes for a simple grilled cheese sandwich when the place is not busy is not cool. Btw, the sandwich was yuck, don't waste your money. One would assume the proximity of the location to transit would have the staff adequately prepared to get orders out for their customers. The other two locations in Cranford and Union are a quick walk to the train, busier (at least in terms of the number of customers I saw), and more efficient. Regardless, if you think you have fifteen extra minutes, don't bother getting coffee you may miss your train. read more

My group of 10 decided to meet here for a casual dinner meet-up on a rainy Tuesday night. We were told that the kitchen closes up a bit earlier than the actual cafe closing time, so we rushed to make our orders. Menu ranges from salads, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, delicious pastries, and coffees and teas. I ordered the chicken salad and was surprised with the large portion size and amount of slice chicken breast on top. Fresh produce with walnuts as well. What a steal! Other guests ordered sandwiches like the tuna melt, omelette & toast, paninis, etc. However, the next morning, one girl in my group fell ill. The rest of us were fine and surprised to find out what happened to her the next day. Not sure if it had to do with something she ate earlier that day, but she ordered the eggplant parm sandwich, so I guess avoid that. Overall, it's a cute coffee shop with quite a bit of seating. There was only one employee working that night, and he brought out our food and drink orders at a reasonable time. My group hogged the leather chairs in the front and made an oval. Leather couch chairs are very worn down and you'll sink in. The employee was nice enough to let the stragglers stay awhile after closing hours until our uber/lyfts arrived to pick us up. read more

We were avid Rock'n Joe's fans when we lived in the area, for many years, of the Cranford and Millburn eateries. So when we were in Millburn on a Sunday morning, we were eager to revisit our old stomping ground for brunch. Let's just say the only thing we'd like to stomp is the food. My husband ordered a corned beef and Swiss panini sandwich; what he was given was most clearly pressed roast beef out of a bag, with barely any heat from the panini press. The fries on the side were less than generous in portion size. I've had AMAZING omelettes at RnJ over the years, offered with a choice of side salad, fruit or toast. The goat cheese and mushroom omelette was of the quality I could have made on the fly at home, toast the only side option and, again, barely heated. The staff was less than courteous, helpful or interested in providing any level of service. Our drinks were made incorrectly (mine) and with unsolicited or wanted whip cream (his). If the drinks were posted with descriptive information (as they used to be...), this could have been avoided...maybe. Huge disappointment. There are so many other restaurants on and off Main Street where your investment and gustatory satisfaction will be better served. read more

Rock N' Joe is a one of three coffee shops on the same block within a .1mi radius. They are directly competing with Starbucks, and Mill Roasters. I went in for breakfast with my girlfriend, and ordered a bacon omelet which came with toast and two 'special toasts'. One was an avocado toast with an egg on it and the other was a kale and egg toast. In addition, we ordered a hot latte and a iced caramel mocha latte. First off, the coffees: reasonably priced compared to their big chain big brother across the street, has wayyyyy more TLC but into their roasts and overall tastes better. I have had two iced drinks their, the caramel mocha and the cookies and cream (light), both extremely good and creative. They have a large selection of cafe-drinks at a decent price point. The food was yummy. But a cafe, I expected the food to be pre-made Starbucks style flavorless sandwich food.... I was wrong. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the toasts were original and delicious. I enjoyed every bite. The only negative is the price point for the toasts. 6 bucks for a kale and egg toast. Granted, the eggs are fluffy and it seems like they used two large eggs on it. I personally felt it could be a little more competitive. Overall, it's a solid place for your coffee and cafe needs. Considering the lack and non existant brunch options in Millburn, I highly suggest you try it out read more
