Service was great. I really like the ambiance. It's you typical local diner. Nothing fancy so no matter what your feeling or what you're wearing, you doing feel out of place. The wait staff are real so some expect that extra respect you might get a nicer place's but they're really polite. I've been to two different Village Inns and they're both the same. It's my preferred place to eat breakfast. There's places with better food but sometimes you don't want anything fancy. I really like their ham steak breakfast which is more than filling. I highly recommend this place for your basic breakfast needs. I haven't tried their pies. Too expensive for a slice imo. read more

This Sunday was an opportunity for me to experience something local and different. As big as this place is it is impressively an area where families unite and have an opportunity to break bread among themselves to enjoy a meal as they remember I'll recall memories from what I can see. The waitresses are very welcoming and supportive and helpful and the hostess was very appropriate with timing and awareness of the need for tables as it was a very busy Sunday morning. One of the Hallmark features here is there time by the slice or old pies if you want to take them home. The meals are succulent and plentiful. May have a strong variety of ways of preparing breakfast which is given all day. Lunches and dinners are also offered. We are visiting El Paso and stopped to get some breakfast. After looking at menu I saw that they didn't serve what I was craving to have for breakfast. I decided to ask Victoria our waitress if they by any chance served Avo toast, she said no but if you explain it to me I will make it for you. I was so impressed by her great service and willingness to go the extra mile :)!! My husband ordered from menu French toast which I took a bite from and that too was delicious and fresh from the kitchen :)!! Service could have been better, the food was okay. The location on Joe battle was way better. I felt the dinning experience was rushed at this location and could barely enjoy my food because of it. The restaurant was not busy either when we arrived, there was only 2 other tables with us. Me and a friend came to get breakfast and they took over 60 minutes just to get us a burger and pancakes which came out to be 30 dollars. They were also picking and choosing who to seat. When we got our food the portions were small and my burger was burnt even though I asked for it medium rare. We never gave the waitress any attitude and we were very patient. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. After a very long drive I checked in the motel next door and walked over for late dinner. To say I was highly disappointed would be an understatement. I've never been to this establishment or any of their other chain but this will be the first and last. I can tell this is more of a breakfast establishment and their lunch/dinner options are minimal. So I decided to just have something light and easy as a Chicken Caesar Salad. What came out was very far from something as simple and traditional as a Chicken Caesar Salad. Apparently they add red onions, tomato slices and black olives and no croutons. I was set very far back. When asked about this I was told this is what's on the menu. Who reads the description of something so simple as a Caesar salad. Then I was only offered a side plate to remove the stuff myself, I was not given the curtesy of having it remade to my liking. And on top of all that I had repeatedly ask for silverware AFTER the food was delivered. Probably my worst experience in a while. I do believe that the server and hostess was pleasant however everything else overshadows my opinion of this place. I would recommend to stay away. read more

Only disappointment was that the waitress forgot my glass of milk and still tried to charge me and she never came back to check on me, thus I would have told her she forgot milk. Thankfully, the manager resolved the bill. If you stay at Super 8 hotel, it is literally 10' next to office of hotel. We are staying at the motel in the same parking lot so it was a swift walk for some fine dinning. It's 6pm and there are two families in the restaurant, so it is very quiet. We were sat as soon as we walked in and within seconds our drink order was taken. The service was great and speedy. They had an amazing selection of pies and we were told if we didn't see one out they would get it made for us! Overall we would definitely drive back to this location. read more

But the ladies serving were very kind--we had a party of 9, we were seated in good timing, but the server took a while to come ask for our drinks and it took about a half hour for them to bring them out. No one returned to take our food despite us asking for a server from another worker. Eventually they took our order and the food took even longer to come out. Now I understand we had a large party and things may take some time, but this was beyond a reasonable wait time. We had to repeatedly ask for condiments--which eventually came once we were half way through our food. The food was cold and mediocre at best. Absolutely wouldn't recommend this place, you're better off going up the road to Denny's And I would say my experience may have been the result of having a large party, however my boyfriend and I have eaten here just him and I--unfortunately the same service was experienced. read more

To be honest with you, when I first walked up to the restaurant, I wasn't really expecting anything special. I was surprised when I walked in to find out it was very modern and absolutely adorable. The waitresses were really nice and well put together and :-). The food was your typical breakfast fare and some dishes had a Mexican flair. My boyfriend ordered from the pick your meal menu and he found it to be tasty. Or in his words... "Perfectly adequate". I ordered the chicken enchiladas with green chili and it was excellent. I used to live in El Paso and had good memories of Village Inn so whenever I drive through now, I try to stop in for breakfast. My food wasn't bad per say, just wasn't as good as I remembered. I always order the California Skillet. I remember the skillet being super hot and all the potatos being really crunchy and grilled tasting, I also remember the pancakes a lot bigger and fluffier. My skillet was maybe warm, and everything in it just seemed warmed up and placed on top. My pancakes were small and looked like the microwavable type because they were way too round to be by hand in my opinion. Everything was perfectly edible and the staff was nice, it just was very average. Maybe my hopes were too high. Such is life. read more

Stopped in for some good old fashioned country cooking, and had an absolutely horrendous dining experience. The pot roast beef was disgusting, I wouldn't feed this to my dog. The corn was NOT fresh, my Texas toast was wet, although on a positive note the baked potato wasn't bad. And, as for the service, my waiter seriously needs to find another job, as he was about as incompetent a waiter as there ever was. After all this, I had to flag down the hostess for my check, because it was 23 minutes since my waiter had cleared my plate and he was still nowhere to be found. Usually have breakfast after church here because there really isn't much to choose from in El Paso. This location doesn't have anything to brag about as far as quality of food. The service is much worse than the food. It's like the staff is in constant "job training"mode. Anyways, stopped for our obligatory Sunday meal and was greeted with initial wrong order, egg shells in my omelette, and final third try of correcting all previous mistakes...(I'm hoping it was a long facial hair) questionable looking pubic hair. Put's Denny's and those type resturants to shame. The food is as better than you find in these Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner Family Resturant Places. The service was far beyond what you expect too... Server (Ricardo) was the best. Kind, efficient and helpful. Each and every other server that pssed by had a smile or kind things to offer. It was no accident as I watch manager team of Julia and Shawn coach the staff on being their best the whole time I was there. The service here is extremely slow. We were there before three other tables and they all got their food before us. My son's chicken tenders were RAW! chicken fried steak and sides had no flavor. My in laws food looked unappetizing. My wife got eggs so hers was ok. They forgot most of the extras we ordered and had to keep reminding them what we were missing, even though they wrote it down when we ordered. Order came out wrong and when I told the waitress about the error she blamed my teenage sons for not ordering the right thing...even though I was sittingd right there when they ordered and they DID order the right thing. I used to wait on tables and I know that you don't argue with the customer but this woman litterally stood there and carried on an argument with me. Love Village inn but I will never return to this location. The dishes were dirty and the coffee pot was filthy, leaving black smear on the coffee cups. We were a small group of 4, we waited very long for our meals only for them to be wrong. They got my grandmother's meal wrong 4 times, my sister's salad wrong 3 times and they forgot half of my friend's meal. Mine was the only correct meal, and I finished my meal before they got everyone else's right. We were not difficult customers and our orders were simple, there's no good reason for our experience to be this bad. Would give 0 rating if possible read more

This place does not deserve a star. The food came out cold and they forgot to bring out the soup. They were nice enough package it up for me in order to take it to go. I was not provided with a seperate check as I had requested. Therefore, the cashier made several mistakes and I was charged twice. I also picked up an extra order of fries since the other guest in my party did not get charged and had already left the establishment. To top it off, the cashier and manager didn't have the decency to take off their latex cleaning gloves to assist us as we were settling the order.
