Enjoyed everything about AJ's.The service, the classic diner ambiance, and especially the delicious American grub!! Our family was starving after being out and about all day and, I'm honestly so glad we found this place! We wolfed down everything we ordered that I forgot to take pics of all we ate except the Oreo shakes, which were awesome!!Looking forward to coming back!

Good 50's vibe. Test another good chocolate malt. Nice fat burgers. I got fries, but there are other options. Place was clean, friendly staff.

Fun, themed diner with good food and high prices. We tried a burger and a sandwich and both were really good. We chose to trade the regular fries out for sweet potato fries at an extra cost. The sweet potato fries were delicious, but they gave us so few that they did not justify the extra cost. We ended by sharing the Black Forest shake. Delicious!! Overall, this joint was a bit too expensive for what we received, but we will definitely be back for the shakes!

We have come to AJ's on Tuesday for the $5 special & haven't been disappointed! First time we came, we waited for 45 minutes because there was a mixup in the kitchen. The server was friendly and offered a small compensation, which went a long way. They made our food, it was fresh & great and we have been back since. The atmosphere is very family friendly and old school diner, which is awesome! Their shakes are great too, coming from someone who used to work at A&W! And they bring the extra in the metal container, which I'd a big deal when other places don't. Their burgers 1-5 are all good and cooked perfectly and well seasoned. We will be back and recommend everyone trying it out!

My girlfriend had never been here before so I decided on our next date night we would go before the movies! So this past week, we had said date night and headed over to AJs diner. Since It was a weekday, it was not very crowded which was good! Our waiter was great and he was honestly a gem with his jokes and great sense of humor. He was also very good at making sure we had everything we needed. I wish I got his name but he is a young guy, with shirt black hair, and he was working on Wednesday, October 6. Now onto the food, both my gf and I both got the chicken sandwiches but I got it with the Buffalo sauce and ranch and my gf got it with bbq sauce. We both also got the curly fries. We also got the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. Everything was delicious! For a desert, we shared the Oreo milk shake which was soooo good! We will definitely be returning for future date nights!

Small menu but food done right.

The ambiance is really cool and different than other spots in town. Really get that old diner feel. Was waiting for Marty McFly and Biff to walk in. They have a $5 burger on Tuesday, so thats a good deal to check out. Their shakes are pretty on point so that is a must, even if you are full, find a way to force it down. My only gripe would be that the onion rings taste like they are bought pre-battered. I'm super big on house made batter and fried items. So thats a personal problem for me lol. It's a cool little date spot, family dinning or if you are a photographer such as myself to use for a vintage backdrop. Service was good.

All you need is the 56 Bel Air and poodle skirts. Great Value, Great Service and a super cute Diner ambiance complete with bar stools. Ordered the Little Richard a 1/3 patty a Hamburger with Cheese and Fries for $8.00. Upgraded my fries to Sweet Potato for a $1.50 more. I think this is very close to what I pay at many fast food places. Except I get service and there are comfy chairs. Satisfying and way better than any fast food in town. They have sandwiches, salads which are good. The trouble is they serve fabulous milkshakes. You get the fancy glass with whipped cream and the extra left over in the metal container. And you have to resist them if you want to cut down. That is the trouble. They are so good. Can't go wrong for $25.00 with drinks, meals and tips

Ok so ... this place inside is a TRIP! Back in time.... Think Arnold's Diner from Happy Days. There's classic Woody Woodpecker cartoons on the TV's. And I heard the Rondells, the Platters and Elvis 50's hits played on the pipped in music, just to name a few. The menu is classic diner faire. I opted for the BACON cheeseburger and subbed Onion Rings for Fries. With a Root beer, of course! The burger smelled awesome when It got to my table. Fresh beef, you could tell it was a homemade patty, crispy bacon. Melty cheese ... I like they use a green leaf lettuce instead of the obligatory iceberg. My bun was well toasted, a BIG PLUS. And it tasted great. The onion rings were not anything special ... in fact they were the same as what you get at Sonic. Now I like Sonic onion rings ... but I was hoping for something more homemade like the burger. The place is very clean ... there was only 2 guys working and my server checked with me several times during my meal. So good service. The caddy that holds the artificial sweeteners was really filthy. And the salt and pepper shakers were caked on dirty as well ... that the reason for one less star. They hand sanitizer stations everywhere and plexiglass partitions between most of the booths. And they were wiping and sanitising tables but I think they forget the little things that get dirty and touched a lot like S&P shakers and caddy's ... I could rub the grime off the caddy with my finger... so you could tell it was simple neglect. And the other tables with caddy's were the same. But I also know places are short staffed and things slip when you don't have enough help. AJ's is a unique place in El Paso, if your craving a home made burger I def recommend it!

Was eating out with my son when we saw a roach while we were eating our meal absolutely disgusting! How is this place still open

We had wonderful service and amazing food! I enjoyed the Banana Nut milk shake with the burger featuring fresh grilled jalapeños, bacon, and cheese accompanied with onion rings What a extremely satisfying treat after a day of working in my parents yard.......while visiting from Albuquqerque. I'm super impressed! This was my second visit, but I plan to make this a GO-TO every time I come to town.

With mashed potatoes and veggie medley, and soup and iced tea for just $12.95! Well JACKPOT! I ordered and this soup came first it was a chickeny flavored tomato broth with tortilla strips and melty white cheese. The broth was WAAAAY to salty. But I liked the concept. It had no veggies or any meaning it. So I ate out the chips and cheese and I would have liked to enjoy that broth but it was so so salty I just could not. When my plate came it was a nice spiced grilled ground round Pattie covered in hot brown gravy with thin sliced onions and small thin sliced fresh mushrooms. Homemade real mashed potatoes, and veggies mix of corn, carrots, peas, and green beans. If it had a dinner roll, it would have been dinner at my house growing up any night of the week. It was so good, the veggies could have used some butter on them. The gravy was great on the meat and potatoes. Sorry I didn't get a pic of that plate, but I was so hungry I just dug in and by the time I thought of a pic, it was half way gone. The clock inside isn't winning any beauty contests. It's still same as it's always been. I think maybe I'd set all the clocks to the correct time or the correct time somewhere and make sure they all worked if possible or had good batteries. Be great if the coco clocks, if any, went off every hour. Bring some more character to the old place, and favorite of many. Come get dinner some after noon or late afternoon. It's a great deal... there were only 2-3 other tables when I got there and when I left no one was there . So you can definitely come get a good cup of Joe and some good food in the afternoon, it's not just for breakfast, which it IS FAMOUS FOR.

As we're close to the Army base some of the items have received GI nicknames as was the case with biscuits and gravy (SOS on the menu!). The coffee refills were plentiful and I supplemented my "SOS" with eggs over easy and hash browns. My wife had the breakfast burrito. She had plenty to take home.

I kept it classic with waffles, bacon, and eggs--and it absolutely hit the mark. The waffles were light, fluffy, and perfectly golden, the bacon was cooked just right, and everything came out fresh and satisfying. Simple comfort food done right. But what really elevated the experience was the atmosphere. They had live musical entertainment by Louie, who was incredible. He played a mix of hits from yesterday and today, moving effortlessly between country & western, contemporary favorites, and traditional Spanish songs. His versatility created a warm, lively environment that both staff and customers clearly enjoyed--it added something special you don't find everywhere. Service was just as impressive. Our server, XAY, had a bright, welcoming smile and provided outstanding service from start to finish. They offered great suggestions on local favorites and specials, which made the experience feel personal rather than routine. The vibe overall is relaxed, inviting, and very "El Paso"--a place where you can sit, enjoy your meal, and stay a while. Overall: Delicious, well-executed brunch classics Live music that enhances the experience (not overwhelms it) Exceptional, friendly service Comfortable, welcoming atmosphere Would I go back? Without a doubt. This is more than just brunch--it's an experience.

I arrived just after 8:30 am, but there was plenty of room. I got seated at the bar, and got to see everything. I asked for coffee, and it came quick and hot. Then i took a look at the menu, but the nice thing about the bar is that you can see everything that was ordered get prepped. I ordered a pozole rojo. It was a good choice, according to me... it was a lot of food. It came with a slice of toasted and buttered bolillo bread. It was loaded with more pork, than hominy - a lot. The server came by to ask if I needed a box. The Junction is a diner, with a railroad ambiance. Plenty of train station themes, I think there were a lot of clocks on the wall - but I don't think that they were working... or that they were on time. I noticed a couple of plates that I would want to try... the chicken fried steak, the biscuits and gravy with fried eggs on top, peach cobber side, the fresh biscuit with chipotle butter. It all looked good. The breakfast tacos seemed basic, but a lot of folks ordered them - they must know. There is seating inside, table and bar, and outside under the shade. I saw enough that I would return with Liz (...and the kids). I recommend, but I do recommend getting there early. It's a popular locale.

It has that trucker, small town American diner ambiance. The food was delicious! I want to visit here again next Saturday and try a different breakfast plate. The wings are so big, these aren't your usual run of the mill frozen wings fried to order, the breading flavorful, the wings were fried hot and deliciously. I had to wait for my food to cool down to eat it, and that's saying something. We had fries with queso (and I don't recommend that, the queso was so plain and became hard quickly, but the fries were good). We tried traditional hot buffalo and the double dip sauce or something like that. It was a sweet and spicy mix that was so good and a house favorite. I definitely recommend giving them both a try. We ordered 20 wings and came home with 8. The food was filling and it wasn't much more than any other mid priced establishment. The restaurant is inside multiple train cars what are lined up parallel to each other. You can look out of the windows and see another train car of guests enjoying delicious food. The menu was very diverse with burgers, steaks, salads, nachos and of course wings. The table next to us ordered the Philly nachos and the smell of the steak, cheese and pepper combination filled the car. The only down side to being in a train car was the noise definitely echos. If you are next to screaming babies or a loud table of tipsy women your ears will be ringing a bit, but I'd say it's still worth it and maybe just part of the experience. Another downside is no garlic wings, oh man I wish they had that on the menu because I'm sure they'd be amazing. Regardless, this is an awesome stop and one we plan to bring family to. The food is tops, the service was great and the atmosphere was pretty cool too. I've included a picture of some leftovers, these wings are even good the day after and they are so big.
