I was always curious about this place since it constantly has cars in its drive thru. The first time I tried Village Inn I got the Chicken Katsu, and they HOOK IT UP. I can't think of any teriyaki place in Seattle or anywhere that gave me larger portions across the board than here. Both the regular chicken and Katsu are solid. The second time I went, I got their Ranch Burger and oh Lord. I was extra hungry so I got the half pound...I hate to admit it but I wasn't ready. A quarter pound burger is plenty to fill you up, and they are incredible. You also get a ton of fries on the side. I can't wait to try what else they have on the menu! read more

Neighborhood burger and teriyaki joint that's here to stay! I've visited Maple Valley for meetings every now and then and seem to always pass by Meal Time, never knowing what it was. But in my most recent visit I finally decided to check out Meal Time for lunch and am glad I did. It doesn't look like much. In fact, it looks like a hole-in-the-wall burger joint that's been around since probably Maple Valley was incorporated as a city. But it has that neighborhood charm that seems to be lacking in most places around Seattle these days. I mean, as soon as I walked in I saw a collage of photos of dogs who've visited Meal Time's drive-thru window and it's clear that the owners take as much as joy as seeing its dog-ly patrons come by as I do anytime I see a furball that comes my way. Instantly, I'm already a fan of Meal Time. The menu has an assortment of items from your standard burger combinations to teriyaki, katsu and even oddball items like burritos. There's something to please all who visit Meal Time. For me, I ordered the Ranch Basket combination, which is a double cheeseburger (1/4lb.) with small fries. Although this was the smallest of the burger combinations I found the portion to be plentiful. It didn't take too long to make and while I was sitting inside, I noticed that the other party who was dining in knew the owners. It's always a good sign when a place has regulars! When they called my order up to be picked up at the counter, I also saw that they gave me a side of FRY SAUCE, which was a pleasant surprise. FRY SAUCE IS LIFE. But at a burger establishment such as this, of course they'd have fry sauce! Already, I was pleased with this lunch. But more importantly, the burger was solid and fries were perfectly fried, golden and seasoned. The two patties were small since in total they made up a quarter-pound, but I liked that it was a double layer versus one patty, which really gets you to taste the cheesy goodness! Additionally, there were your normal toppings like shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles, diced onions and mayo. I liked how the bread was slightly toasted, too. Small fries were a huge portion! No need to get a larger size for two peeps; I ended up tossing most of mine away. It was a solid, good lunch and am glad to have found Meal Time while in the area! Yes, this place is a dive, but the exterior doesn't do the food justice. The burgers are way better than McD's and BK, and actually look like the pictures. Fries are always crispy. Give it a shot at least once. read more

I live close to this place and never tried it until last night. What a TREAT!!! It appeared there were three guys working behind the counter and they all looked like they enjoyed their job. They were very friendly and the order was ready fast. When I got home I ate the Chicken Breast Teriyaki and it was VERY GOOD. They gave generous portions of chicken, rice and salad PLUS some mac-n-cheese, which I've never received elsewhere. I can't wait to try their other menu items. Burgers, good. Onion rings, yum. Teriyaki and yakisoba, so-so. We've eaten here multiple times. They're fast and tasty. At least for the burger side of things. We haven't ordered much of the teriyaki side of the menu but what we did order didn't stand out to us. Whatever that dipping sauce for their fries though... on point! Their combo deals are priced pretty reasonably too! I haven't been inside as we always order to pick up and husband goes to pick it up, so can't comment on interior. But occasionally we drive passed in on our way to QFC and she's cute and small on the outside from what I see. read more

GREAT tasting burgers! It's just full of flavors. Veggie burger is pretty good too compared from Fatburger. Even Fatburgers has nothing on this. I sometimes order the combo which comes with a cheeseburger, fries and drink. They give a lot of fries and its so yummy! You might have to split an order of fries because I don't think one person can finish it alone. Chicken katsu plate is awesome. It comes with two types of sauce. A tonkatsu sauce and a teriyaki sauce so you can pick your favorite. The mac salad is tasty and delicious too. I agree with Rob P., "Don't judge a book by its cover". Oh My!!!!....surprisingly yummy! We were three people and all ordered differently. Bacon burger on sour dough, fish n chips, shredded BBQ Pork burger. We were not disappointed. The burger was filled with wonderful fresh and crisp lettuce, sweet mild onions, and tomatoes... which all complimented the burger perfectly. The fish n chips were crispy on the outside- tender and moist on the inside, and fries were also hot fresh, crispy and perfect... the oil that cooked these were fresh, and at an ideal temperature so as not to burn the fries or oil. The BBQ Was very nicely shredded, with a beautiful vinegar sauce.... we feel we have found a new favorite! So yummy! Sooooo yummy! Five stars from us read more

It's a small place, doesn't look like they have a regular cleaning regimen, thick dust on windows. Owner was friendly & courteous, food didn't take too long. I paid $20 dollars for over fried nasty halibut, portion was TINY and I mean TINY. The fries that went with it, nasty processed crap. All of it was horrible. My husband had a so called Philly nasty nasty philly. Tasted like teriyaki beef already marinate. Gross. Tastes gross we threw most away. Terrible $35 for two horrible meals and one small milkshake. This little place is a gem! We were in the area and swung by for a bit of comfort food and we're pleasantly surprised by the quick, friendly service and good food! The chicken katsu was crispy and tender. The Mac salad was delicious (ono!) The fish and chips was also crispy and yummy! My son loved the milkshake. The staff (owners?) were very nice, checking in with us and making sure we were enjoying our meal and we had everything we needed. If we are ever in the area, we will definitely go back to try more dishes! read more

In the 12yrs here, I've only experienced good service and, importantly, great burger. I prefer reading reviews mainly about the quality of the food, and then I'm there to try. It's a fast food place so I don't expect those places to provide a lengthy kiss @ss @ccomodating service. I just want my food and go. I need this burger place when I don't have time to cook for the family. I know they will be happy that I bring home their burger. So if you wanted to like it, but couldn't then move on. Pretty good burger. Id give it a 4/5 but had a negative experience with the lady who took over the front counter after the guy who originally helped me went back to cook. Another one of those "don't judge a book by its cover" type of places. Looks ehh on the outside kinda gets worse as you get inside but the food makes up for it. Price for a meal (burger, rings, soda) is about $10-11. If you can settle for a cheeseburger and fries, order the combo number 2 and save yourself a couple bucks. No matter what you are craving Meal Time has it. Fish and chips, burgers, teriyaki and milk shakes. Perfectly cooked fish, fries were crispy but not over done. Broiled chicken burger was tasty and milkshakes delishious. The restaurant is just a counter and couple tables but their is a drive thru and you can order to go. read more

Wow!! What a hidden gem to find in Maple Valley! If you want a quick and delicious hamburger but don't want to make it yourself don't settle for mediocre McDonalds, come to Village Inn! I've lived in MV for so long but somehow haven't eaten here and I have to say I am sad I waited so long! Meal prices are about the same as other fast food but the quality is so far above it, if it's a couple dollars more it's worth it. Also tried a Peanut Butter shake, so good I'll probably gain 10 pounds because I'm going back for another. The vibe is like a burger shack you'd find at the beach or on a road trip. It's a real burger not a dinky little thing, and so tasty! The only issue I had was the wax paper wrapping the burger got stuck in a few spots to my sourdough bread bun (got the sourdough burger) but it's my fault because I had to wait to eat it, so it probably doesn't happen with regular buns, but if you do get Sourdough and have to wait just pop it open and separate the paper from the toast. I encourage more people to visit! Support our local business' and keep this institution in our city! read more

Only the non believers call this place something bedsides "meal time" Seriously. They put it on their cards. It's the greatest name for a burger/seafood joint I've ever heard. Pros: the bacon cheeseburger is the only burger I get. It's delicious. Fries are great. Gotta get their special sauce too. The shakes are VERY Tasty. Highly recommend mixing flavors. Love their crinkle cut fries and cheeseburger. I'm sure it's like 3,000 calories for the meal but so worth it. I also love the fry sauce (an order of fries includes a complimentary side of sauce). The food prices are also super reasonable. For a burger meal and teriyaki plate is less than $20 and the portions are generous. The three times we went we ordered ahead and picked up.
