This place is by our house like literally 5 minute drive and my husband and I always say that we will try it one day and we finally did. When we walked in I was actually surprised at how clean it was. I wasn't sure what to expect so that was a good surprise. Additionally, we were greeted right away and sat at a booth which was nice. It was a Sunday brunch. Our server was super nice and I noticed a lot of the folks were possibly retired and regulars which is great that this is a good spot. The food came out fairly quickly and j enjoyed that the potatoes were definitely crispy just the way I like it! The sandwich was delightful but would have been better if there was a garlic aoli. My husband had a skillet and it was filling that's for sure. They also had different juices and I was so excited to get the orange juice but it wasn't fresh squeezed so I didn't get one. I wish the pies were actually mentioned in the menu instead of just at the front cause at that point I'm just ready to head out. All in all it was a positive experience. The reason I gave this 4 instead out of 5 was cause once we were done eating, it took a very long time to get our check. We will still go back though! The even better time to visit is Wednesdays during "Pie Rush". Anytime on Wednesdays, you can get a free slice of selected (large selection) with purchase of a meal. The restaurant is decent size, quant, but retro. Attracts the older crowd, unlike Denny's or IHOP. The food tastes more cooked-to-order whereas the others give me the impression it was just microwaved. Between the group of similar style restaurants, Village Inn is my go-to. read more

I can't even begin to describe how annoyed I am. Dining at the restaurant almost no problems. Although some of the servers are a little questionable. I actually saw with my eyes this guy sit down at a table to take an order of these two women. And then some of them overshare their personal life too. Anyways do NOT for the love of God order delivery. 10/10 times it will be delivered cold and not hot. Every single time I've ordered delivery my driver waits 10+ minutes EVERY single time. Like that is ridiculous. Promise time was 12:05 pm and I received it at 12:25pm because my driver waited 15 minutes! Ridiculous. It might just be a thing I have but vacuuming carpet in the middle of the day with other diners around is not a great look. Sure if the carpet is genuinely dirty no problem. I was craving some pie and decided to head to Village Inn. It was my first time trying here, so I was excited for all the pie. For a place that was dead empty, it took a long time to get a slice of pie. But when I got my slice, I was let down again :( almost $6 for a small slice of pie that was dryer than my chapped lips in the summer. The menu clearly states that the hamburgers are 1/3 pound Patty. When they brought my hamburger out, there are two small burger patties on it. When I questioned the waitress, she said oh no, that's how they do it. They always weigh it out first. I don't believe her, they were very small, then she went and got the menu. To show me that it said two patties. Which the menu did not, the menu clearly said all burgers are 1/3 pound patties. I just got up and left. Who knows what else they don't follow. As a last minute dinner fix, I ordered a fresh whole lemon pie and a Cobb salad that could serve as a side for four people. Village Inn what could go wrong? I ordered a slice of pumpkin pie for my husband who was in the Mayo hospital and had had surgery two days prior. He hadn't eaten hardly a thing for three days and when he said he just wanted a piece of pumpkin pie, I went on Uber Eats and found Village Inn (we live out of state). I called first to ask if it came with whipped cream as the Uber Eats site didn't mention it or give the option to request it. Pretty traditional diner setup. I like this location doesn't feel as busy as others and usually doesn't take long to get seated. Nina was my server and also cashier. She was great, attentive and checked in a reasonable number of times. I typically always get breakfast when here. It did not disappoint. The food is consistent of what to expect for a diner. We stopped at this VI years ago after Mayo Hospital visits kept us out late. Today we split a BLT. We split dishes often these days - dineout deflation. Our BLT arrived with crinkle cut fries. A friend and I dropped in for a late lunch. It was quiet in the restaurant at first with only a few tables then the place slowly started filling up as we were leaving. I was able to upgrade the regular pancakes to the holiday pumpkin pancakes with a cinnamon sauce and pecans sprinkled on top. The food was yummy and our waitress was very attentive. A friend of mine and I went to dinner here a couple of weeks ago. It took nearly half an hour to get our food. I had to ask the server where it was, and it had apparently just been sitting in the back because it had never been brought to the table. By the time the food got to our table, it was cold. When I spoke to the manager, she asked to be given another chance so my friend and I went back tonight. We stood there for five minutes, and no one even acknowledged is offered us a table. I've been a long time customer of this village inn and I've never had service this bad. Service was great! Fortunately our server is a longtime employee. At this new location, they have moved, the hostess informed us that an 18% gratuity was going to be automatically added to our bill. We had been at Great Wolf Lodge with our kids all day and wanted a casual, inexpensive dinner on the way home, and my husband was hoping to catch the second half of an NBA playoff game. I looked up "kids eat free Tuesdays" which lead me to Village Inn. I checked reviews online and could see TVs in the restaurant, and could see 8-year-old references to "kids eat free on Tuesdays." But since it was so outdated, I tried to call the restaurant four times to see if A) They had the NBA game on and B) if Tuesdays are still kids eat free. No one answered all four times that I called - and I tried every menu option on the call directory. We took a risk and showed up because our kids were excited about breakfast for dinner to find out they only have "Chive" TV and they have discontinued Kids Eat Free. We had to spend $70 on dinner and didn't even get to see the game. When I told our server how disappointing it was, since I had taken the time to call in advance, he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "We're a skeleton crew." The restaurant was nearly empty on a Tuesday night; you would think someone could take a 30-second phone call. We should have gone to Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers or Chompie's where kids actually eat free on Tuesdays. read more

Pretty horrific to be honest, I get it in that it is a Village Inn so we aren't dining at Cipriani in New York, my partner and I was in the neighborhood and wanted breakfast ....a walk in sit down right away place not to deal with the brunch Sunday 40 minute wait crowd. The staff is the reason for the 2 stars for sure! Server was very nice so that was good. Omelette was horrific! Way way way too overdone brown spots all over both sides, I sometimes get overdone omelette on the sides and corners so I can eat around but this ???? Brown on one side and brown on the other (I hate eggs that are brown from overcooking) I get butter in the pan can give off the burnt look but this was just over cooked, my partner and I got into a disagreement on the hash browns, he said they were over cooked I say under.....brown on the top mush in the middle. I usually love all potatoes 98 percent of the time, how can you go wrong?......well they managed. Sourdough toast I have grown up in San Francisco and I know good sourdough this was 80 percent thick white bread and 20 percent some tiny sour taste but thank god I had it because I made an impromptu avocado toast because I only ate 20 percent of my meal and I may be being generous. Sorry, I always like to recommend good places and help people enjoy eating out; but this is definitely the worst place we ever went to! No wonder they have v. few customers. The taste & portion size was ordinary for top sirloin steak, but the taste of soups and fish was submediocre, with v. small portions. After getting home, we realized we didn't even get the one side included on the menu. When I called next day to talk with the manager, the guy put me on hold for 30 min., when I got disconnected. Calling the following day, I talked with a v. rood lady, supposedly the manager; she didn't understand me (?), asked me to repeat 2-3 times and, before finishing my complain and feedback, surprisingly, she started to scream at me for no reason; she said she was an American Indian (?)(whom I have always liked) & threatened me with calling the Police (?!) I believe the lady, manager or not, needs urgent health care. And, going back to the Village Inn itself, we wouldn't recommend the place in any way for food, portion size or service. And, in addition, I got more than enough aggravation! We used to go often to Village Inn; there were some much better places which closed down. They would better close this lousy one. read more

I came here with my family right before the Taylor Swift show on Saturday. We all met together with one of my stepmoms friends who had went to the Friday night show. While we discussed the Taylor Swift concert and her eras the food was amazing. I had a omelet, pancakes and lemonade. My family had a variety of different breakfast food. The village inn has never failed as in quality of food and quickness. I would recommend to come here. They have a variety of options for everyone. It's not expensive and food tastes amazing every time. Plus it is fresh and filling. The service was amazing and patient while we waited for our friends to get in. Affordable food (we go for breakfast occasionally), great service, good portions & flavorful. Plenty of seating friendly host/ hostess, lots of booths & fresh coffee. Today we had: The breakfast burrito (large) & Santa fe skillet with fruit. You can order choice of meats to fill either one. We both had carnitas in our meal, the burrito had plenty, while the skillet was more like a few larger chunks vs shredded & dispersed throughout the skillet. The side of fruit in lieu of pancakes was fresh (grapes, cantaloupe & pineapple). Today Robert(server) left the carafe of coffee on the table for me which is awesome, hot unlimited coffee like home. I ordered the california skillet and had it delivered during Covid-19 outbreak. It's all potato, and not much of the other ingredients. My mom ordered a hamburger with NO cheese, but they put cheese on it. And she also ordered seasoned fries, but they gave her regular. Not happy with our meal...
