TL;DR: delicious pizza and green chile stew. Do not expect Domino Pizza prices! Great patio! Extended: I've been eating pizza from here since I was a child, and the quality hasn't changed in 20 yrs. I also worked here, and having seen the kitchen and how food is prepped and made, I STILL love the food. This is a locally owned and operated business, the family is really community oriented! I've had calzones, regular crust pizza, thin crust, salad, soup, and breadsticks. Personally I would stick to this type of food; the nachos aren't anything special, but aren't bad. Their marinara is the best - use it on everything Fair warning that this isn't a cheap dinner spot! Based on other people's reviews, I recently gave this establishment a try. Upon entering, I noticed that the buffet was still filled with food even though it had closed 2 hours earlier. Thoughts of freshness did not cross my mind at that point. It was very awkward to walk in with my family who looked like they were obviously waiting to be seated, yet no one even looked in our direction. There were tons of people working there...I saw at least 5 people walking around, then they began breaking down the buffet and finally putting away the food. No one ever asked us if we would like to be seated. After looking around...we decided to order our food to go instead. The place wasn't really up to our standards and taking a pizza to go (we were starving) seemed like the safest choice. So...I ordered a pizza and waited. I watched as one or two other people walked in and were ignored, just like we were. I watched an overstaffed pizza place with zero customers besides me waiting for a pizza. Then I noticed something that made me want to leave. I really should have, but we were starved and just needed to eat. The next time you are in there, look up above where they are making the pizzas. There is a ceiling light hanging right above that area. There was more dust on there then I had on my SUV after driving through the New Mexico dessert. It was really nasty and totally unacceptable. I didn't want to bring this up while my pizza was being made because I feared revenge and a tainted pizza if I mentioned it. I had to use the bathroom while I waited. That was gross. The door doesn't close properly so they have a note on the door to please make sure it closes or something like that. How about fix it, pure laziness. Some locals might think this is an acceptable way to serve food, but not me. Never again, the health inspector needs to come clean and start laying down some fines so they can get their act together. A course in customer service or "How to properly conduct yourself as a server" might work as well. If you like your food fresh and not germy, move on. This is not the place for you. read more

It's a bit of a funky place. Be prepared. Something may not go as you expected. Luckily, they have the best American-style pizza in the greater-Albuquerque area. Maybe in the WORLD! Probably not, but it's really pretty good. The pizza may seem a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. A pepperoni pizza is COVERED in pepperoni. A mushroom pizza is COVERED in mushrooms. Don't even get me started on the Village Combo. I love the Special Favorite combo, but usually get my own creation: pepperoni, hot Italian sausage, red onions, and green olives (That's right, they have green or black olives and house-made hot or mild sausage; hot or mild green chile too!) Plus, their S, M, L are the M, L, and XL at many chain joints that I won't mention here. Go there. Try it out. Relax and enjoy a funky New Mexican place with a great patio. I'm pretty sure the words relax, funky, and patio all show up somewhere in the state motto. P.S. This place is awesome!! They've got a great outdoor patio, a rich original SW architecture to the place, and they've got great pizza ta boot! One of the few places in Albuquerque where I've been able to find whole-wheat pizza crust (and excellent crust at that). The toppings are always fresh and generous, it's a laid-back atmosphere, and one of the best places to relax with friends and family with some great grub! One of the coolest things about this place is that it's out in Corrales... pretty much a joint for the locals, and they have a hitching post at the front for horses... I heard if you ride your horse in to pick up a pizza or dine in, they give you 10% off your order. Nice!! I've been hearing a lot of nice things about Village Pizza and was met with disappointment. The customer service was lacking. The man on the phone for delivery quoted a forty-five minute wait. Mind you I live five minutes away. I waited an hour and a half before calling back because low and behold my pizza still wasn't at my home. The guy who answered sounded disinterested and didn't seem to care that I was upset. When the delivery guy finally arrived and handed me the pizza after an hour and fifty minute wait, the box was soggy and the pizza was cold. The pizza was just as soggy as the box from sitting in it's grease for so long. When I called to file a complaint and to request a refund, the guy on the phone was just as disinterested and spoke to me in a lifeless sarcastic tone. I don't recommend this establishment nor will I be returning. read more

This used to be a favorite of ours. We have come twice a week for the past 6 years. Not anymore. You have to wait some times 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge that you are sitting at a table. When you order the breadsticks as an appetizer they no longer come before your food. They arrive with your pizza. The breadsticks used to be big soft and awesome. Nor they are skinny, rock hard and cold. We order extra cheese and there has been suck a small amount that there are bare spots on the pizza. We have asked for management and no one comes. Used to be great now it is just plain awful. They have lost our business. Too many times in a row with bad service, bad food and no one to take care of you. read more

Great Pizza, cool dining room, nice patio. :0) The pizza we ordered, see picture, had artichokes, mushrooms, red bell peppers, and pinon nuts. YUM-O!! BUT it was also a medium and $20! Granted it was as big as a large from Dominos. It's a great tasting pie, just a bit on the pricey side. So...I will probably go back but would rather sit on the patio. There is little to no cell phone reception inside the adobe dining room. Which could be a good thing when eating dinner with the family, you're forced to talk! Salad bar looked pretty good. Its a bit cramped in the dining room, and not too fun with crying kiddos while you try to enjoy dinner. :/ They offer a pizza buffet two nights a week, which I think I will go back for so I can try a variety of pizza. Okay, I hate to do this to Village Pizza, because I used to go to lunch there all the time. The pizza is good, the prices aren't bad, but I went there the other day and I beat the dinner rush by 30 minutes or so. I ordered a small pepperoni for my daughter and I to split before I had to take her to an appointment. Again, a small pepperoni pizza - nothing fancy. After waiting 45 minutes and saying something to two different wait staff, still no pizza. How the hell do you forget about a small pepperoni?? THEY WEREN'T BUSY. Pretty inexcusable. If you're from out of town and decide to eat at VP, just make sure your order made it to the kitchen. Like I said, the pizza is good, but I've never had service that NONEXISTENT. We finally had to leave without eating to make the appointment. I'll go to Dions next time because they have their shit together. read more

Great tasting pizza. One of my favorite in ABQ. Pizza is very thick on the regular crust and they don't skimp on the toppings! My fav is pepperoni, green chile, and feta cheese!! And calzones are good too. Don't know about other menu items b/c I don't get anything but pizza! Would have gave it 5 stars but service has been horrible more than a few times, especially on phone. Solid local pizzeria. Love bringing the dogs to sit on the patio. Service is always friendly and the food is consistent. We like grabbing a take and bake pizza and cooking it at home (there is a discount off of the menu price for doing this). Their sauce has a unique flavor and I recommend the hot sausage. I would like a more thoroughly peeled green chile, but the food is good, the prices are reasonable, and our dogs are welcome. Get some pizza! read more

I can't believe that all the times I've been here I haven't yet 'checked in'. I'll have to remedy that the next time we go. Their pizza is unmatched. The crust is to die for and the toppings are always fresh, with healthy portions on each slice. The staff is friendly and with both indoor and outside seating you can always find the perfect place for you to relax. It's packed during normal dinner hours regularly so that should say something to the quality of their food. A bonus for us, I just found out they deliver to houses in Corrales. This is huge since not many place will deliver to us. They have taken my #1 spot for pizza in the area which was reserved for another 'local favorite'. Haven't been here in over a month. But after my deplorable experience at dions, I have to come running back to VP. True local business, with FRESH food and employees that aren't prepubescent like dion's employees. On a Friday or Saturday night, expect a small wait. This is probably the best pizza in the city. I think they have the best pizza and am assuming and hoping this visit is an anomaly. My salad had the butt of the lettuce and a bitten cucumber slice. It grossed me out. The raspberry vinaigrette was delicious. I ordered a pizza with several toppings and made it a point to say very light mushrooms and olives. When I got home the pizza was black with olives. After 2 slices, I removed 3/4 cup and that still wasn't all of the olives. So many olives has made the pizza very soggy. I'm so upset and disappointed. read more

I had been to Village Pizza before, so I knew their pizza is good, but I'm trying to avoid animal products and my friends and I always eat here after tubing the Rio. Still wet with river water and definitely still smelling like it, I ordered the veggie pizza with no cheese. The waiter delivered it with a smile and a joke - "veggie pizza, extra cheese!" It came piled high with veggies. There were so many freakin' veggies I couldn't even see or taste the lack of cheese. Luckily my friends are too closed minded to try something free of animal products, so I got the whole 12" to myself with enough for leftovers twice over. We were delivered the wrong pizza tonight (spicy sausage instead of mild). Instead of the manager or waitress coming out and apologizing we received what thought to be a new pizza. After carefully looking at the pizza we could clearly see that they had removed the old pieces of sausage and sprinkled the new sausage on top, put it through the oven (thus drying the pizza) out. Then when confronted with the situation the manager didn't even offer to comp our entire meal. Seriously who picks old sausage off pizza and then sprinkles new sausage on top. The thing lacking, in my opinion, is a great crust. As it is, I feel the crust is pretty standard - which is not a negative. But it's not a positive either. Horrible customer service ! I tripped on the sewer pipe that is sticking out of the middle of the patio dinning area and cut my knee and hand.When I went and told the manager.
