The restaurant and bar is separated. The restaurant does not smell smoky at all in the slightest. I dislike the smoke smell especially when eating, but this restaurant had none of that. The menu gives a lot of options for a great price. They have, what I think is the best fish and chips in town, their steak and eggs are decently priced and great portioned. The customer service provided is always impeccable. Drinks refilled at a smooth rate, and always checked on if we needed anything else. The restrooms are clean, considering it's in a bar. Gosh, I really hate leaving a bad review because I've been coming to Village pub for years and I've always loved their fish and chips. Unfortunately, something has changed over the last six months or year or so. Every time I order the fish now, there is a thick, tough layer of skin left on it that is literally impossible to chew and makes the fish almost inedible. I kept hoping it was just a one time thing, but it has happened repeatedly. Still a great place for good solid cooking and prices. Maria took great care of us. We came in around 10:15 and there were 3 other parties seated, by 11:10 3/4 of the restaurant was full. Obviously lots of people love it here too. Lots of regulars were here greeting the staff by name. I appreciate that they are transparent with some price increases (I'm guessing due to the egg situation). We both ordered something different today. Hubs got the ham steak& eggs from the breakfast menu. I got the 24- hr special NY steak & eggs for $10.99; this is a $1 increase. But so good. Steak was tender and delicious. We ate at Village Pub for our friend's birthday and it was really good. I love classic bar food and this place hit the spot! The steak and eggs were flavorful, though the steak was a little tough. Still, the taste was on point. The pot pie was impressive with a huge portion and rich flavor, though I wish it was chicken thighs instead of breast haha. Just needed a dash of salt and I ate the whole thing! The club sandwich was great, and the fries were perfectly done. Bar side allows smoking while the restaurant side is smoke-free. We were seated on the smoking side, which wasn't ideal, but the food made up for it. The prices are also such a good deal for the portion sizes. Overall, solid food, generous portions, and a great spot for casual comfort food at a good price. Total for all 3 + a Jameson came out to about $65 including tip. read more

Below average. Got there at 530 on a Monday. There is no happy hour in the bar, only in the dining room do you get a discount. That is stupid. The bar area is such a weird vibe. It is open and feels like a school assembly room. There are only 4 TVs, one on each wall so the nearest view is 30ft away. Do not come here to watch sports. I ordered the French dip. They don't have normal beer so I got their lite. The lady working brought the food out in to go boxes and then asked if I said to go even though I have a place setting, condiment tray, and a full beer. The food returned on a plate. It was bad. Great little local secret for decently priced food. First time ever (3/14/24) coming here was when a coworker had mentioned this place offering the "same" BARBEQUE RIBS as Ellis Island. Slightly higher price for a full rack ($1 more compared to Ellis Island) but essentially the SAME plate. Comes with potato salad, coleslaw, and 2 slices garlic bread. Need to ask fo extra BBQ sauce as they don't have the bottles at the table or provided upon delivery of order. Not bad. Fairly similar to what you'd get at Ellis Island, without the drive or time restriction. Had came here recently again to try their PRIME RIB on Saturday Night on 11/9/24. Price WAS $21.99 (now $23.99 as of 01/05/25). Comes with a fairly large salad. Prime rib itself is pretty decent for the price. Tender. You have a choice of sides (i chose garlic green beans and steak fries). Comes with au jus and horseradish too. Pretty good for a local bar-made prime rib. Hard to beat the amount of time that goes into making one for the price. NY STEAK AND EGGS for was previously $9.99, but now (as of 01/05/25) $10.99. Previously had a choice on type of potatoes (thin cut? fries, steak fries, etc) but during the most recent visit, the waitress didn't ask about the potatoes at all. Prior visit, i had chosen steak fries. Unsure if the waitress just forgot because it was a seemingly pretty busy Sunday morning, or it wasn't an option ? Still, even at $10.99, hard to beat the price for a full meal in comparison to a lot of things nowadays. Decent sized strip steak cooked perfectly. Tender and easily cut with knife. Eggs were cooked perfectly as requested (over easy). Toast is buttered nicely and toasted (i typically get sourdough). My friend had gotten the POT PIE, dine in, for once. She had ordered it previously to go and ate it way later so wasn't impressed. The pot pie is presented with large puff pastry cover a ceramic bowl maybe half way filled with pot pie filling. Flavor was pretty decent but she complained on how many peas and carrots there were. Have yet to dine in the bar side, only on the restaurant side. Typically pretty quiet so not bad. Terrible attitudes. I would say terrible service, but unfortunately I received none. It was a dude with a mohawk and an older woman. both bartenders working together. I hate to pull that card, but I'm pretty sure they were racist considering I sat there for 15 minutes without any help whatsoever. My boyfriend comes in and he immediately gets a menu dropped to table by the guy with the Mohawk, but just ONE menu to him. And when we asked to order beers right away, Mohawk dude said hold on, there were other customers before us. PLEASE NOTE: When I arrived, everyone had already been helped and served. However, one of my friends told me about their prime rib special on Saturdays and mentioned how it was pretty decent. Then some of our other friends mentioned about their steak & egg special. In our younger years, we would go to SouthPoint after midnight for some cheap steak and egg specials. But who has the stamina to do that now?! Well, now you don't need to stay up past midnight. You can just go to Village Pub and they all have an all day steak and egg special for a low price of $10.99! Came here on a Saturday night to try their prime rib special AND steak and egg special. For $21.99, the prime rib was pretty good. It comes with a side of salad, French fries, and veggies. The meat was tender enough and had good flavor. I would definitely not mind coming back for this! The steak and egg was also not bad at all. It comes with toast, potatoes, and eggs. You can also sub for sweet potato tots, which are delicious and doubles as a dessert. I had a very upsetting experience at this establishment that I feel needs to be shared. I was treated in a way that was not only unprofessional, but deeply disrespectful and discriminatory. During my visit, I was singled out and accused of smelling like marijuana--even though I do not smoke at all. The way this was handled was completely inappropriate. Instead of addressing the situation privately and respectfully, it was brought up in front of other customers, which caused me a great deal of embarrassment. What made the situation even worse is that I strongly feel I was targeted because I am Mexican. The tone, assumptions, and overall treatment I received were offensive and humiliating. No one should be made to feel judged or stereotyped based on their background. I left feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and disrespected. Situations like this are not okay, and businesses should be held accountable for how they treat their customers. I hope management takes this seriously and makes changes so no one else has to go through what I experienced. It was the graveyard shift on Monday after Easter Sunday. The most recent time we arrived, my 90 year old husband fell outside on the pavement. Guilly and Agustin immediately came running out and assisted. It's 11/23/24 at 2:15 am and this elder blonde bartender said, "OH HELLLL NO, We can't serve all of you" AS SOON as we walk in........ We saw this place on YouTube. They have a special for $9.99 for steak and eggs. Also $12.99 for fish and chips! Such a deal! Now this is not gourmet food to be sure. But for $9.99, it is a steal. I ordered the steak medium rare and they cooked it correctly. The over easy eggs and potatoes were delicious as was the buttered sourdough toast. All for $9.99! The fish and chips were also delicious, with the fish moist and tender, with a nice batter. I liked the fish less than the steak and eggs special, but it was also very good. In addition, our waitresses were very nice. The eating area is outside of the casino, so there is no smoke and it was quiet, which I loved. Four stars! read more

Located in a big parking lot shared with other businesses - this place has part dine-in and part bar / gambling room where you can eat, drink, and play all at once. Recommended by one of my friends, this place is great for groups if the main dining room is open. The dining room is big and spacious. There were a lot of older patrons inside both times I've been. The dining area has tables and booths. The lighting is bright. In the game / bar room, the lighting is a little dimmer. There is an ATM located inside as you will have to play to sit at the bar. I played a lot of Keno, haha. The larger dine-in area is good for groups. The first time I went here I was in a group of maybe 15-20? We were able to split the bills by table which was very kind of the waitress. The service here is good. I think being in a larger group the service wasn't as attentive as the time I was in the gaming area - likely so as bartenders are right in the center checking in on you and making sure you're good or if you would like to order another drink or items off the menu. Food comes out pretty quick! Things I've tried thus far: - Fish and Chips (a friend fave) - Stuffed Potato Skins - Parmesan Garlic Fries (I would probably trade these for something else next time) - Corned Beef Hash Skillet Everything I had was good! If you're in the mood for trying multiple things, that's totally fine - the portions are kind of big so if you do get more than 1 item, def share amongst each other. I always like to get the fish and chips always delicious crispy juicy and with the tartar sausages hits perfectly what I really wanna come out here to talk about is Lucia. Me and my wife's go to for cheap and great food. Very rarely is there an off day for the steak and eggs. For $9.99 you can't beat it. For breakfast times I go French toast and loaded oatmeal. I usually eat at the Montana Meat Company on South Durango (MMC) but I occasionally to eat at the Village Pub on south rainbow (VP). I would have given 5 stars but there were some issues that I'll detail below. First off, I was greeted in a very friendly manner by Maria and Lucia. Both very affable servers (and people, I'm sure). Lucia was my waitress. She is the only reason why this review is 4 stars. If not for her, it'd probably be 2 or 3 stars. She was super friendly and helpful. Lucia knew the menu like she wrote it herself. Her services was/is top notch. She refilled my drink even before I had to ask. Just a wonderful and friendly person. I also noticed that she interacted with some of the other customers in a fun and playful way which leads me to think she that she is a "fan favorite". Hoping she gets the proper accolades for being very knowledgeable and friendly towards the customers. The issues I had with VP is a lack of pro-active thinking on the part of management/ownership and feeling that they're stuck in the herd mentality that has come to plague so many locals' restaurants in Vegas. VP should take some lessons from the MMC. MMC has menu items priced lower during lunch time (11am - 4pm). For example, they have wraps, sandwiches and a hamburger all with lowered pricing during this time ($9.99), in addition to other regular, everyday specials. VP should implement that strategy also, but I think the herd mentality they are suffering under will prevent them from seeing the benefits. This includes charging for gravy on mashed potatoes!! Can you believe that?!?! VP charges extra for a ladle of gravy when they serve mashed potatoes on some of their dishes. Crazy!! MMC does not charge extra. Sides! VP has no healthy sides unless you want to pay more money!! Aye-yi-yi!! Talk about nickel and diming customers!!!! And I think all they offer is sliced tomatoes. Yikes!! I highly recommend that the good folks at VP forego the herd mentality of racing to upcharge and nickel and dime customers at every chance, and to some market research at MMC. While there, take a look at ALL the different sides they offer that they do NOT charge extra for. read more

Second visit in a week. The fried calamari was good. Maybe not the best I've d we had, but certainly very good. Not chewy. Reuben sandwich was great. The notable thing was the BLT. I've had BLTs that were light on the bacon, but not this one. Quite a bit of bacon, nice and crispy. The fries that came with the sandwiches were nice and hot, crispy outside with soft inside.
