Not so toasty that it hurts to bite, not too soft that's it's mushy. Just perfect. All the toppings were not just fresh, they were crisp. Meat was delish and not too overwhelming. All of the sandwiches had their own sauce and they were all tasty. Service was great. Dominick greeted us right away, took our order and was very knowledgeable and patient. It gets really busy and often feels crammed, but that doesn't bother me. There's also a shaded patio area for extra seating. My go to is the AK-47 with au jus sauce and the French onion soup. Great concept for a sandwich shop! Having a dairy allergy, I love that they offer wheat bread as an option. My go to sandwich to go is a Jamaica Red on wheat bread, 12 inch, no shake seasoning, no cheese, and no lettuce. The shake seasoning contains dairy. If I eat at the restaurant, I love to get "The Bomb" sandwich which is a meatball, marinara, mushrooms, and green peppers sandwich. I do no cheese and shake seasoning on wheat bread for the dairy free option. I also tried the cup of balls with either marinara or bbq. Both sauces are delicious and the meatballs are satisfying. It was a total of ~$19, which wasn't too bad especially if their sandwiches are packed! The portions is 100/5!!! The flavor was fire!!! I can't believe it has taken me this long to try out Cheba Hut. Thanks to YELP, I was actually in the area for Freddo's with my toddler, but I figured we should have some substantial food prior to dessert. Anyone with a toddler knows how difficult it is to get anywhere with a toddler, so I opted for convenience and chose to come here. Boy, am I glad we did. This is my second time visiting Cheba Hut - both experiences were a bit different. The first time was at the Henderson location - got invited to dine in there with a few friends after a late game of pickleball. I was immediately captivated by the cool ambiance of the restaurant/bar and energy of the staff! Lots of hip stickers, posters and endless art work that makes you feel like you're back in college again. I opted with the tuna sandwich - which was a hit. I loved the toasty texture - it reminded me of Quiznos but much better. The second time around, I decided to check out the southwest location since I was craving a good sandwich and I'm closer to this store. After reading about the #1 sandwich, I went with the kali mist or "spicy club". I asked if it was spicy hence the name - but was told it isn't. After taking a few bites, I was a bit underwhelmed compared to my first experience. It wasn't as toasty or as flavorful as I had imagined. I also ordered the French onion soup which was also okay - I'm glad that it was affordable at $4 for its size. I went into Cheba Hut expecting a pretty decent sandwich. nothing bad, but nothing that would blow me away either. Boy was I wrong. From the first bite I was impressed. The sandwich had the perfect level of toastiness, and between those beautifully toasted pieces of bread was an explosion of flavor. It was one of those meals where hours later my brain was still thinking about it. I actually ordered one of the sandwiches recommended by the bartender, and she absolutely nailed it. (+) I ordered the G-13, which consists of Roasted turkey breast, roast beef, bacon, chipotle mayo, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, Shake & House dressing. That sub was juicy and tasty! I grabbed the medium sized sub (8") and it was very filling. You will go through a lot of napkins with these how juicy these subs are! This G-13 did have a mild little chipotle kick to it. Overall, a very delicious and satisfying sub! (+) Service was solid and efficient and everyone was nice. (+) The have this cool little corner bar area there with beer on tap. They had an old Family Guy episode on while I was there lol I may have to enjoy a beer here one day just for the heck of it. The subs are comparable in price to the Firehouse Subs that is just paces away from this location. My 8" G-13 sub ran me $12 and change and I tipped a buck. I've always liked Cheba Hut, but my last visit was awful. I ordered the same sub I always get with vegetarian substitutions, and the cashier decided to label my ticket "stoopid" -- then when relaying the order/substitutions to the kitchen I heard him say out loud "for the order 'stoopid'".
