Great lunch spot at the Avalon. Well diversified menu and it appears they even allow service animals to dine with patrons on the extended patio seating. The greeting upon entering was very nice. But it did take a few moments for our actual server to make it to the table and take our order. She was sweet when she finally arrived. Best to park in the deck close to the new arcade experience place. From there it's just a short walk to Marlow's front door.

House, meat, veggie burger, phenomenal as are the fries!

I must've forgotten to review this wonderful restaurant the last time we were in Atlanta. Both times we stopped in for lunch and the overall experience was just fantastic. You are warmly greeted by a host or hostess, they have a full bar area and many tables and booths that are very comfortable. The service is exceptional, all the waiters and servers seem to work in concert with everybody and they all seem very happy to work there. The place is very clean and now let's talk about the food! The menu is very eclectic, something for everyone, and the food is so fresh everything is house made! This is the second time I've had their veggie burger and it is off the charts as are the fries that come with it. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was excellent and we shared the homemade hummus. It is the best we've ever had. The drinks are also excellent. They make a perfect old-fashioned. I ordered a Sam Adams and the draft beer was the perfect temperature, perfect pour with a clean glass. Just everything you would want and expect! We even got a visit from one of the chefs who was very happy that we loved the food and the service so much.

Weekend lunch at Marlows for a comfy meal. The place had a vibe and was busy. Service was great and friendly. Food was good, filling, and hit the spot. Enjoyed the kettle chips the best. The spicy margarita wasn't spicy at all but the flavor was good. Casual dining place with a nice vibe.

5 stars for service, solid cuisine and vibe! It's been a while since I visited Marlow's and I forgot how much I loved it. But the real differentiator this time was the service. We were greeted by a friendly host and seated immediately. Alexis was our server and she was amazing. She even had the kitchen split all our entrees in half and serve on individual plates because we wanted to share a few different things. We had the Tacos and the Grouper Sandwich as well as the Caesar salad. Everything was prepared perfectly. I'll definitely prioritize Marlow's on my restaurant rotation.

Went for a lunch on a working afternoon and had a great experience. Tried kettled Chips from appetizers section and chicken panini, banh mi wrap and fish tacos. Kettle chips were based on the same concept as nachos and were really good ! Fish tacos and chicken panini was good as well. Loved the Banh mi wrap - very nicely prepared.. and came with fries but small quantity overall and I didn't mind with more veggies and less chicken but good to balance that out. Service and ambience was nice.

Service needs major revamp. The booth: After a long day of walking around the Avalon, my friends and I stopped by Marlow's as it was the closest thing to us. After being seated in the patio area, my friends were chilly and found the seats uncomfortable. I spoke with the hostess to see if we could be switched to a booth. She asked us to wait for one to be cleared and I expressed we were happy to wait. After waiting ten minutes the hostess comes to us and asks if we still wanted a booth. We replied yes we would still like a booth. We then watch a busser clean a booth right in front of us, and we spectate as the hostess proceeds to seat two new guests (who arrived after us) at the booth. Our server comes and then says "it looks like you decided to stay" to which I responded "no, we still wanted a booth", and then after speaking with the hostess our server reports back that another booth would take too long. We figure no worries, it was busy, and we proceeded to order. The cutlery: after receiving our food, I realized we never received cutlery. I requested cutlery. We received cutlery. I ordered a steak and had not received a steak knife, so I had to call the server again to get a steak knife. The food: this where things go south for me. I ordered a filet mignon, a tall order at a tavern, I recognize. I asked for it to be cooked medium. My steak, instead of a single 8oz cut, arrives as two 4oz chunks. It is clear that the outside is charred rather than seared, and immediately upon cutting it is clear that the steak is more than well done. I report this to the staff and they ask me to scoop my steak onto a separate plate for them to take away and refire. Now my sides (a mushroom snap pea salad and potatos Anna) are getting cold as I wait for my steak to be redone. In the interim, the server comes and asked if I'd like a salad, soup, or fries while I am waiting. I ask for regular fries. A man who I presume was the manager stops by, apologizes for the steak, and brings me a cheddar soup (which I enjoyed but never asked for), and informs me my fries are on the way. My fries never come to the table. The replacement steak arrives, again in two 4oz chunks but this time cooked to order. I'll say the highlight of this dish were the potatoes Anna. Other food: Friend A felt her grilled chicken sandwich was dry and requested an Aoli sauce. Friend B ordered the buffalo wings which she described as "just okay". Friend C enjoyed her Fish tacos. The reason I gave the review a 2 instead of a 1: the server was incredibly friendly, and I appreciated the manager's attempt to correct the experience. However, the hostess' decision to seat the other two in the booth we requested without ever following up with us made me feel like a second class citizen, I never received the fries I had asked for, a clearly overcooked steak was served out of the kitchen, and we had to ask for cutlery. While my first time at this location, this was the fourth Marlow's tavern I visited, and I've never returned to one. My expectations are generally low for this franchise, and I came today because my friends suggested it. But from my experiences combined I am unlikely to return to another Marlow's.

Marlow's Tavern is a fun bar/restaurant hybrid located in Avalon. There is a restaurant-styled seating area, but there is also more casual seating with televisions broadcasting sports. For appetizers, we ordered the buffalo wings which were the right about if crispy, though I would prefer a little bit more sauce on the wings. For our entrees, the shrimp dish (do not remember the exact name but it was one of the specialty items) was tasty and came with a good portion of food. I ordered the Pressed Cubano, which was also tasty but they only gave half of a sandwich as the main portion. Since it was so good I was left wanting more. Unfortunately the fries were bland and not crispy enough for my liking. Our service was very good, and our waitress ensured all of our needs were met. We did not have to wait much between ordering our food and having it brought to our table, which I really appreciated. This restaurant is also relatively less expensive compared to the other restaurants in Avalon. Overall Marlow's Tavern is a great option for eating in Avalon, and I enjoyed my experience there!

I'd say that everything in the Marlow's experience wavers between 3 and 4 stars. It kind of inspires one of those "great, but..." responses. LOCATION: It's Avalon and it's a Marlow's - both have their own personalities and all. Marlow's Tavern here is located near the Regal, Antico, and Kona Grill, so it's a slight walk from wherever you might park [especially] if the weather's unfriendly. Marlow's itself is pretty standard across the board with people having their preferences for which location they like best. While none are quite a hit or miss for me, I do notice some inconsistencies across visits. SERVICE: In generally, wait staff is professional and friendly. They often get busy and don't check in too often, and the layout of the restaurant makes it tough to track down the person serving your table. Most wait staff likes to suggest a few items off the menu and can help direct you through the menu, though with more of their own bias than a popular opinion. FOOD: Each dish has aspects to it that are incredible and then aspects that are a disappointment. Appetizers are good, and the staff is happy to make recommendations (which is usually the dip currently on the menu) The waitress (and apparently chef) and I agreed on ordering the salmon cooked medium, yet it came out a medium rare or even pinker. Resultingly, it just didn't pair too well with the tabouleh and sauce flavorings. The asparagus fries are amazing, and you won't find them in many places beyond a Marlow's, but they're extremely salty and heavy on the breading. The chicken stack is one of my favorite dishes, though I'm biased because of my love for cauliflower mash, crunchy green beans, brussel sprouts, and shiitake mushrooms. DRINKS: I always want to like them, so I order them a very specific way so I can control the sweetness and water content, which I find helps with the balance. They also have a full bar, so feel free to order what you like. Let's say that the drinks are worthwhile if you're in the mood for a drink, but it's not necessarily worth checking out the menu to see if you'll be inspired. Chances are, the menu will indeed inspire you, but the drink will then disappoint. Overall, yes, I'll return here. However, I'll stick with the menu items I prefer rather than branching out too much.

Nice place to pop in and watch a game. Nothing that blew us away but everyone enjoyed their burger. Mine came out hot but my date's was luke warm so that was a bummer for him. We sat at the bar and were well attended to. Oh and they have a separate gluten free menu!

While the wait might be long at times, I've never had bad service here. The food runs on the side of health conscious but you'll still be winning with the Long Island teas and can even nab a crème brûlée. The vibe is sports bar meets a fancier version of Applebees. It's literally next to the Regal theater and the center park where all the festivities take place. If you have the time, it's worth it.

I did have reservations not sure if it was necessary but none the less I had them. While waiting for my husband to park the car the greeter/waiter let me take a look at the menu. They had bar seats available as well as a closed in patio. I decided to utilize the patio, I told the greeter not to forget about us. lol At the time we went it was not very crowded. There were quite a few people but not overwhelming. There were nice animal pictures on the wall, maybe the head of a bison was there. Lots of Liquor behind the bar on display and part of the decor. The doors were a little decorated for the holiday.Big wooden doors. The patio did have televisions there but they were low so if I wanted to hear I couldn't. There was a football game on so we kinda looked at it from time to time. Even though it was my birthday the restaurant didn't do anything for me. No deserts, no happy birthday, no cheers!!, nothing like that. When celebrating a birthday I look forward to small things like that if a restaurant offers it. I ordered a cucumber martini. Didn't like it so we know we wont be ordering that again. The food was ok, nothing to complain about there. I don't know why I didn't take a picture but I had the B&B Burger with smoked bleu cheese. The food was mostly great -- the French onion soup was flavorful, and the calamari had a good spicy kick. The mac and cheese was so good with that crispy breading on top. The steak and asparagus were cooked well, and the sweet potato fries were tasty, though a little too sweet -- they really don't need extra sugar. The mashed potatoes had good flavor but could've been a bit creamier. The martinis were good. The water had a strange taste, the Sprite tasted more like 7UP, and the glassware was a bit sticky, which was noticeable. Overall, good food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. I came here on a work trip so there was a LOT going on: food buffets, bar mania, games of all sorts. Had I come here with a group of friends to play games and sip on a drink I think I would have had a different (read: better) experience. That said, I appreciate that B&B exists and what it's trying to do. Despite being here as part of a big group, the staff was perfectly lovely and patient. That's not always the case when it comes to dealing with large groups. The food menu is confusingly large and caters to about every taste.* I got a little grossed out at the thought of eating around so much dust. Board games and consoles are dirty/dusty. They show both easily. Eating around/in that didn't appeal to me. What *did* appeal to me, though, was the thought of drinking a potion. From the glass (straight up D&D) to the color (blue), I was all in. The Mana Potion had a lot of the right elements (gin, blue curacao, elderflower liqueur, lemon, and Sprite) but the extra zhuzh for our party was team too much. The edible glitter made the drink a bit thick and didn't do wonders for my stomach. It's a tough criticism because I was here for an extra sparkly drink/potion. Definitely on brand. For me, Battle & Brew is an odd space that could benefit from some editing. But, it looks like I am in the minority. I can agree with not being the target audience. So, gamers, have at it! *I didn't experience much in the way of GF/DF/VG options but, again, target audience.

I was truly excited to try this place because it is such a cool concept. Went yesterday for dinner…read morewith my husband, daughter, and my friend and her daughter. We opted for the board games for $7 so that we could play together at the table while we ate, which is a great idea in theory but the execution left a lot to be desired. Most of the games we tried to play were old, dirty (yuck), and incomplete. For example, we were unable to play Guess Who because both the red and blue lineups were missing people and many of the people cards were torn into pieces. We were able to play What Do You Meme, but it was obvious that most of the meme cards were missing, so we had to stop abruptly when we ran out of new cards. Since people are eating and playing, effort should be made to keep the games clean, or at the very least, provide hand sanitizer at each table so that guests aren't grossed out about handling dirty game pieces in between grabbing bites of their sandwich or other finger food. I just feel like even though $7 for board game play is reasonable, it felt far less justifiable after experiencing the issues I just explained. If you are going to charge people any amount to use the games, ensuring that those games are complete and sanitary seems like a reasonable expectation. Service was okay but most of the food did not even meet the okay standard. We started with mozerrela sticks, which were okay. The fries with all our meals were obviously the frozen bagged kind you can find at any grocery store. They added seasoning but it's not enough to hide the fact that you are eating frozen fries at a sit down restaurant. My husband ordered the Don't Call It Hotlanta chicken sandwich and I think that was probably the best tasting thing we all ordered. I ordered the ATLA with cheese and did not like it very much. The bread was too crispy, the cheese was cold, and the overall flavor just didn't do it for me. My daughter ordered the mac and cheese with a side of fries. It does say on the menu that it is Kraft mac and cheese. She didn't complain, but she's 12 and not too picky so no surprise there. I had a soda water, my daughter had a sprite, and my husband had two mixed drinks (I think margaritas). Our total bill including the $7 for a crappy board game experience came out to $94 before tip. It was not worth it and I would never return for dinner nor can I recommend that others consider this a worthy dinner spot. Nevertheless, it would be a cool spot to come to with a big group of friends to play the computer and video games while enjoying a few drinks and maybe an appetizer or two. I could see that being a fun experience and would be open to returning to play the video games with friends or maybe one of their event nights like trivia that sounds like a good time, but I won't come back specifically for dinner because there are far better place to get a far superior meal for that price around here. So, at the end of the day, two stars is my review for the dinner and board game experience, but it would probably be closer to a 4 for just video games and drinks or events because I don't think there is anything else like it around here. I am not 100% on pricing for the video games but I think I saw something like $20 per hour, which I think might be a little pricey. However, I am not a big gamer myself so I may not be the best judge of that.
