We visit the Trestle a few times a month, and the food and service never disappoint! Last night we both ordered the special Mushroom Swiss Steak Tips with mashed potatoes. The steak tips were perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and served with just the right amount of swiss cheese and delicious mushrooms. The potatoes were skin on red potatoes, also perfectly seasoned. The portions were huge (I had leftovers for lunch today). I wish I had saved room for dessert! Our waitress was friendly and attentive, our food came out quickly, and our drinks were perfect. Also, the live music by Jennifer Mitchell Music was a really great bonus. Local dive bar with lots of small town character. If you are reading this review and it's a Tuesday, find a friend and go get a burger because they are buy one get one free! When it's not Tuesday we stick to their boneless tenders with buffalo sauce on the side. It's a huge portion so be prepared for leftovers. We drove up from Brockton, Mass--an hour and a half drive each way. It was worth it! We had a table set up for my Aunt Judith's 70th birthday. She had a blast, as did my fiancee' and me. The band, Stray Dog, was fantastic--one of the better cover bands I've seen. The food was good. I had nachos and fiancee had steak tips. The tips were a tad cold but she said they were still delicious. My only complaint is lengthy ticket times--it took about 30 minutes for the food to come out. Best food in a long time! Started with the clam chowder, best I have ever had and I have eaten gallons, full of large chunks of clams,the potatoes were cooked perfectly, creamy broth. Then onto the BLT with homemade rye bread, delicious. For desert, homemade custard pie! Waitress was attentive even working the whole restaurant at prime time lunch hour. Will be doing some work in town later this summer and plan to bring my crew in. Atmosphere could use some work for daytime, looks like it is geared for nighttime entertainment. Every time I come home, I love this place more. It's still cheesy. It's still dark. But it has a certain charm you don't find in the big cities. The drinks are ridiculously cheap, there's usually a pool table free, and there's ample parking (just head over to the town hall if they run out of space in front). read more

I will never spend another dollar in that place after the rude hostess riding my ass about wearing a mask! She told me to wear a mask to walk into tavern. I said it's not mandatory she said it's the law! I asked how I'm supposed to eat and drink she said remove it. I said fine I put one on walked to a table. Before I sat down I removed it. I frequent the Trestle at least twice a week. I absolutely love their food, especially Lobster Fridays--a never miss for me. Their soups are great, and their other entrees are very good. So many things I recommend. Most recently I had the Mexican lasagna--OMG, delicious! The burgers are excellent as well. I also love the fact they do oven fried. In addition, you cannot leave there without a dessert! If you're too full, bring one home for later. Don't miss out. Very creative, always exceptional. Brenda and Amberly and their staff are great, and during these difficult pandemic times, they are taking precautions to make sure their patrons and their staff stay safe. I don't cook, so I'm glad they are close. They are definitely one of the very few "go to" take out locations. I have never eaten inside, so I can't comment on that aspect, but I've tried just about every special the have, and haven't had one bad meal. read more

Food if decent enough. However, as mentioned in many of the other reviews this tends to be a "hang out" for many apparently heavy drinking regulars. This tends to create an uncomfortable atmosphere if your not one of the regulars. Especially, not the most family friendly restaurant. Also, during the nice weather they get a large contingent of "bikers". The type that try to act tough. Just a wierd vibe to this place and you are made to feel unwanted if you are not a frequent visitor...more for a drinking crowd. read more

Great food, always great live music! It's a small bar so the music can tend to be loud, so if there is a band there, just be resigned to the fact that you may not be able to hear anyone talking. There is one pool table and it is often a popular game there. One warning if you like to play pool, the locals that hang out there are very serious about the game and have been known to cause trouble if you aren't following their rules! We have been stopping in at the Village Trestle for the last couple of years. It's one of my favorite places and I have never been disappointed here. The food is very good, the drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is the best anywhere. It looks rough with the bikes parked outside when the weather is good, but everyone should know that bikers are pretty good folks. They have good specials, Bloody Mary bar once a month, cribbage night, two for one burger Tuesdays, card night - something for everyone. We meet our friends here regularly and have always had a great time. It's easy to make friends here. Something different about the Trestle that we often notice is that many of the employees come here in their off-time as patrons. Testament to what a great place it is. read more

I went to this place to meet some friends about some unrelated business. There was a blues band playing - the Bruce Marshall Band. I'm a big blues fan and that's why this place was chosen. They have a blues jam on Sundays that I've heard is pretty good. There aren't too many good blues places around. As I approached the place, I noticed a crowd of bikers with a their gang colors on hanging around outside. This could be taken 2 ways. A turnoff if you don't like bikers, or a plus because they know good blues and this would be a good early indicator. The band was really cookin' as I entered -you have to walk in right by where they play. The place was pretty much packed, with a very laid back, comfortable crowd. I stayed for an hour, there was no cover charge. It was 9:30 when I got there, nobody seemed to be eating. As I had a couple of my own super margaritas before going, I didn't even get a drink, so this is strictly an entertainment review. My guess is that the food is middle of the road burgers etc., definitely not fine dining. As a blues venue, it is very good. This is my favorite place in Goffstown- ice cold beer, awesome bartenders and staff, live music and good food at reasonable prices. The quesadillas are delicious and they make an excellent burger- everything is fresh and made to order and they have outside seating, if desired. We had them cater our daughters Jack and Jill party and they did a great job. Really highly recommend this place for a small town vibe with nice people and good food. read more

Found this place based on a WMUR Viewer's Choice ranking of best burgers in NH. Since I'm a burger guru, I had to go check it out. Me and the wife went on a late Saturday afternoon. They weren't busy, place looked like a typical dive bar with food. Wasn't sure what to expect. It only took one bite of my Trestle Burger. All I could say is WOW. First bite melted in my mouth and the flavor was amazing. The steak fries were awesome and the potato salad perfect. If you love burgers, you must try this place out. read more

Let me start by saying that the Trestle used to be one of my favorite places to have a drink and enjoy a quick meal. The former owner who I only know as Steve ran an awesome bar that always put the customer first. However since the bar was sold it's like a completely different place. Yeah maybe the place is a bit more aesthetically pleasing, but the overall experience has soared down hill. The new staff/owners are nice people but awful business owners. Unless you want to wait 45 mins. for sub par service and a somewhat edible meal I would recommend some where else. The Village Trestle is a welcoming place with excellent service, great food and the best music around! They have the best blues jam on Sundays from 3-7pm. I am always amazed by the amount of talented musicians playing. Brenda and Amberly have really improved the place from what I heard bout years ago. We love being part of the cribbage league and have made some great friends. The bartenders are professional, fun and remember what we like. It is like the "Cheers" of Goffstown. read more

Went here recently for a burger. Have been many times but not since the early part of 2017. Something has changed. The burgers use to be excellent and the steak sub to die for. When I went in this establishment, there was a bartender sitting up on the beer cooler with his legs up on it. He was thin with long graying hair. He was watching tv and seemed bothered that he had to get up and wait on me. I then ordered a burger and fries and there seemed to be no one else working because he went to cook it himself. He came out and was talking to other customers at the bar, I sat at a table and was waiting for my food. I had to go up to order a drink which he did not seem to know so I told him how to make it. He seemed flustered, he jumped up quickly and got my burger, when he put tomatoes, lettuce and onions on my burger he did not wear gloves. I did not hear the water go on or see him wash his hands. eewww. The burger was well done, I asked for medium. I was not impressed at alll and I hope it was just a bad day.
