I came to this restaurant once with some friends but it wasn't a great experience. My friends and I all dressed nice and decided to go here for dinner. Once we got there, it took awhile to get seated and have someone take our orders. Meanwhile, we got a lot of really weird stares from all of the staff. They also claimed that they didn't have pizza!! We finally went somewhere else but overall, they didn't have pizza and it was overpriced and just not a very welcoming environment. Giuseppe where did you go? Our Family Tradition of over 2 decades may have just come to an end. So here we are at 9:30 on Christmas Adam. Having prized 7:30 reservations we arrived at 7:15 w no "Buena Serra" w many kisses. Always will remember this! Its awful service. They double booked and had way too many tables. Its 9:30 and were just now (45 minutes after ordering ) the kitchen was out of a standard menu item. He suggested substitute only to come back 20 minutes later to tell us they were out. Two hours later no bread, drinks, water, food and the thing we miss most is not a food but just our old friends, Giuseppe and Family. read more

I used to come here every other weekend when I lived in the area. That was 2004-2006. My mouth watered just thinking about my favorite dish: salmone al Teresa. 14 years later I returned to the area and was so happy to see they were still in business. We arrived on a Saturday night just as they were opening. We didn't have a reservation, but it wasn't a problem. We were seated immediately. Of course I ordered my favorite, and it was as delicious as I remembered. I couldn't leave without dessert. I had the homemade tiramisu with cappuccino. Service was great too. This Italian restaurant is a wonderful gem in Lutz. The atmosphere, service & food is fabulous! We had our 35th wedding anniversary dinner there last night and it did not disappoint. The mozzarella marinara appetizer was divine as were our entrees of Chicken Villaggio & Chicken Cacciatore and the tiramisu. Thank you so much for making our anniversary even more special! So 180 degree turn around in experience from my take out order debacle. First lets start out by pointing out that Mario is as professional and as good as it gets with service tonight! The atmosphere was excellent, the food, OMG the food was delightful! We started with the lobster bisque and escargot stuffed mushroom caps. Prepared to perfection. My beautiful wife had a beautiful 14 oz. pork chop, Nodina Di Maiale in a mustard brandy sauce with sundried tomatoes and olives. An amazing dish. Been here twice now and loved the food both timea. Better than a lot of chain type places. Ordered the chicken cachatore this second time and it was delicious. On the outside it kinda looks like a run down place but inside it's nice and they had live music as the evening progressed. It wasn't loud and boisterous music just nice background sounds. Would recommend. Service was as expected. Price point tis maybe $20-$25 for a typical meal, plus drinks. You can spend more, or less, but that's the predominant price. read more

WOW!!! How have I lived here for over 4yrs and missed this gem! Definitely coming back! Great friendly service and the food was great! Portions where huge so we have leftovers for tomorrow:). My wife ordered chicken Parmesan and I got the Sicilian lasagna. Finished off dinner with an amazing limoncello and two espresso martinis. Yum Yum Yum. It's a must try! The waitress was hard to understand,and didn"t tell us that there was an up charge for the caesar salad and the spinach substitute for pasta. We have been wanting to try this local restaurant for awhile. I was hopeful, but kept in mind that this is Lutz, FL. The wait staff was from Italy, so I guess that is supposed to add to the atmosphere. However, the food did not taste fresh. It tasted cheap. The caesar salad & garlic knots were bland. Our dishes were just not great. I wanted so badly to like this place. However, food is better at Carrabbas. It felt like this restaurant was bought by a new owner & they kept the aesthetics- but sacrificed the food. It's tough out there being a small business, so hard to fault them. After going there many times they started getting rude when I asked for some more bread, then the last time I went there I did not ask for more bread but I had two rolls left over and I asked them to put it in my to go box when I get home they had not put it in my to go box. Middle of the road place to eat. Trying to be upscale, but theyre not. Nothing outstanding here. Just want spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs are sub-par. Dinner salad is tiny. Garlic rolls(2) are small but tasty, but you cant get more. Service is lack luster, live music but you can barely hear him. Yet very noisey from table chatter. Server doesnt check on you throughout the meal, but at the end asks; are you ready for check? Or do you want dessert or something? Check please... Also, was going to order take out, but dont understand the 10$ sur charge if you order thru door dash...(you already pay door dash 5.99 plus 15% tip, so another charge on top of that of 10$ from restaurant, would have been close to 30$ to have food delivered. Villaggio is a quaint and cosey Italian restaurant located in a small slightly rural town of Lutz, about 20 minutes from Tampa Palms. Well worth the drive. When you walk in you feel that you're in Italy greeted by friendly inviting Italian waiters. At times there is live entertainers. Tonight a harpist played soothing music. Other times you could hear recorded opera or Neopolitan arias in the back ground. All together a very inviting ambience. The menu consisted fresh ingredients well prepared. I ordered pescatore with lobster in a frau diavalo sauce that was very nice but could have been more spicy. The chicken cacciatore was very good. The tiramisu was more creamy than I would prefer. My husband and I are traveling in our RV and picked this restaurant based on Yelp. This was the best dining experience we have had on our trip. The service was fantastic especially given the whole COVID employee problem. The food was great and we felt like we were in a big family environment. The servers hugged half of the patrons, we were a lil jealous by the end of dinner that we weren't hugged. The entertainment was awesome and he was just as personable as everyone else. I have dined here many times but never again! We experienced poor service; waited too long for food which arrived cold- twice! Third time came out To Go because everyone else at the table had already eaten their meals. We were then informed by the server that the owner expected the To Go meal to be paid for. The owner wouldnt even come to the table until after several requests and he was rude and arrogant. Had reservations for a set time and was seated an hour and a half after. Absolutely crazy. Even then our party of 16 was seated in two separate tables. The food tasted like it was reheated in a microwave not fresh at all. The shrimp was extremely over cooked and rubbery. Food was cold when it came to the table and we got served dinner at 10:30 pm when seated at 8:45 pm. Absolute nonsense. Very happy we re-visited after many years. We were looking to eat a nice meal after traveling on a Monday night. After trying two other places, one closed and one had a private party, we decided to stop here and are so glad we did! Once we were seated (it took a minute to be seated), the service was excellent! Our waitress was authentic and knowledgeable of the menu. My husband had the special which was filet Mignone with bleu cheese and I had the grouper Francese. His was phenomenal and mine was good. Not so sure if it was possibly overdone or perhaps something else, but it was still good and the sauce was delicious. Great Italian restaurant! Honestly, I had never heard of it until the Villaggio movie theater opened in the Main Street plaza in Carrollwood. I just don't wander off into Lutz very often, and if I do it's because I'm just driving thru to get some place else more important. There just ain't much shakin' and movin' there. However, our destination happened to be Lutz last night and we didn't want to arrive hungry, so we figured we'd get our grub on in the Lutz area. La Chica reminded me of Villaggio, which she has visited several times in the past. Assuring me the food was on point, I agreed to stop in, and I'm certainly not sad that I did. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a very friendly gentleman and seated. He asked us if the seat was alright, which I found to be thoughtful. Our waiter came over before we even had time to get our seats warm. He took our drink orders, returned in less than 2 minutes and took our food orders. We were sort of in a rush, so the attentiveness of the staff was very well received. The food came out insanely quick. First the Caeser salad (upcharge of $2.25) and garlic knots. Both were excellent! Then, the main dish arrived about 10 minutes after. It was hot an a lot. I ordered the restaurant's namesake, the Villaggio chicken. Two chicken breasts topped with proscuitto ham,mozzarella and saut'eed in mushroom, butter and white wine sauce. The 2 pieces of chicken were large, tender and juicy. The dish also featured spaghetti and red sauce on the side, which as La Chica correctly stated was "an after thought." Between the Caesar salad and garlic knots to start, I'm not even sure the pasta was necessary, to be honest. La Chica ordered an appetizer as her main course, the Affettato Misto. This was mixed meats, provolone cheese, roasted peppers and artichoke hearts, all served cold on a plate. Not really sure what all of the meats were, but it was a fun little game to guess. Either way, it was delicious. A return visit is definitely in order. I want to try the fettuccine Alfredo, but it's got a $14 price tag, and to add chicken is an additional $5. I'm pretty sure that's the world's most expensive dish of it's kind. read more
