The good: Good atmosphere and perfect lighting for date night or dinner with friends. In a really cute area to walk around in which was nice! The pork Milanese was huge portion and very good, I really enjoyed it. The bad: 2 of 4 of the cups we got with water were dirty, visibly dirty around the mouth piece which was an "eh" way to start. Service was okay, nothing special. We had to get up to ask for more waters and I asked for sauce on my meal and by the time it came I was already halfway through. Bathrooms were very dirty. The gnocchi started tasted straight like Tostitos pizza bites and the marinara was more of a decor than actual sauce for the bites. The chicken piccata was not good. Rating: 3.5 stars Despite the restaurant being mostly empty, it took over 45 minutes to get the food we ordered. My bolognese was delicious but a little overpriced, and the online price was lower than the price they actually have on the menu. I came here for dinner and brunch. I discovered this restaurant going for a walk around the neighborhood and was like a new spot! For dinner I got the short ribbed tortellini and a limoncello spritz that was on their happy hour menu. The tortellini was great! I also got a side Cesar salad as a starter. For the brunch I opted for their short ribbed gnocchi skillet with over-hard eggs. I got the limoncello spritz again. The food has been great but one thing that needs improvement is the service. It's pretty slow. I am not sure if it's because it is connected to the Mexican restaurant next door or not. In addition we had to ask about their specials like happy hour so they were not that forthcoming with it too. We had to ask for a lot of things that should have been a given with a server and with the restaurant not being full. I understand they just reopened with this new concept so patience is needed. Yes, I've been back already and I'm going to update my review with additional things I liked and disliked. I'm pretty sure last time I didn't get an entree sized salad. This time it was a normal plate size and I opted for chicken instead of shrimp. I didn't expect to like the chicken as much as I did. I've been making a lot of chicken at home and sometimes when I eat out it tastes dry. Here it didn't. It's grilled, you could see the grill marks on it, and it was super tender. I would definitely get the chicken caesar again and make sure I loudly say please make it an entree size. I tried the octopus appetizer and I wasn't a huge fan. It was tender, but the sauce seemed off. It tasted a little too vinegary. I will skip that next time. I still loved the chicken marsala and the pasta that comes with it. The watermelon basil drink is still a favorite of mine. We came for a friend's birthday and they gave her a complimentary huge cookie with ice cream for dessert. I thought that was a great touch. Our server was May (sp?) and she was a delight. Definitely request her if you want great service! read more

Came here on Saturday for lunch. It's a new spot, so wanted to try. It was pretty empty. We were seated right away and were given menus. Place is pretty dark and has a huge area for the bar seating. But overall seating area is not very large. They have a huge list of drinks but when we asked if they can do any virgin cocktails, we were told only mojito or margarita. We had mojito which was pretty decent. We asked for water and she brought only one glass which was so weird; why do we need to share water? We ordered watermelon salad, chicken piccata and Brussel sprouts. Watermelon salad arrived first, and it was pretty small, seemed like half of the normal portion. It was very average, nothing special. Chicken piccata was absolutely horrible. It was swimming in some thick, fatty sauce with capers and artichokes. The sauce was pretty terrible, super salty and definitely not your usual piccata. Also it was super expensive. Brussel sprouts arrived after the salad but before the chicken. It was supposed to be a side dish for the chicken not another appetizer, so it was confusing why it arrived before the main course. It didn't taste very good, was overly fried and had no sauce. We asked for a sauce and they brought some Thai sweet sauce which is pretty weird at an Italian restaurant. Overall pretty bad food and really overpriced. It should I be half the price for what we got. Definitely wouldn't come back and if you decide to go, just order pizza. We didn't try it but I assume it would be halfway decent. read more

Overall I think this restaurant has a lot of potential! I think it's important to mention I went here within the first few months of it opening and likely they are still ironing out some wrinkles. Out of all the food I had the best was the Birria pizza with consommé sauce it was so unique and DELICIOUS and salmon was seared to perfection. The sauces could be better curated. The service was excellent and the servers and management were very friendly and made a difference in the experience. On the weekends late night they have a DJ and that definitely creates a nice weekend vibe. read more

This restaurant was overall good. Our waitress was extremely friendly and was enthusiastic about the menu. Staff was very attentive and tended to every request we had. We went for dinner so the restaurant got quite dim inside but each table had its own lamp which was nice and provided intimate lighting. The food was delicious. All of our appetizers came out fast and had so much flavor. The penne alla vodka tasted like pasta with red sauce to me. What an incredible dinner! Both the service and the food was absolutely delicious. We started with the squash blossom special, which I highly recommend. Different Italian cheeses, stuffed in a squash blossom and tempura fried. I ordered the chicken Milanese, which is not on the menu but they were able to do it. They accidentally brought me out a chicken Parm, which was delicious and then sent me home with the other even though I said that was unnecessary and the chicken Parm was delicious Lisa insisted. Lisa is a doll. I highly recommend her! We also ordered the lasagna rotolo and the white pizza. Both highly recommended! With the quality of food and service being so unreliable at restaurants these days it was a refreshing dining experience and I cannot wait to return. read more

We made a reservation for Valentine's Day and drove over 45 minutes to dine here, only to get a call when we were about 15 minutes away saying they had to shut down due to a health code violation. Hearing afterward that there were reportedly over 100 roaches made the situation even worse. We were really looking forward to a special night out, so this was extremely disappointing and honestly pretty humiliating. Booked a valentines reservations several weeks in advance. Got a text on 2/13 asking to confirm our reservation, replied and got a confirmation back. Went to review the address on 2/14 to see our reservation was cancelled. When I called they said the restaurant had been under construction for some time and was not approved by the inspector to reopen. It was already difficult finding a reservation a month ago let alone the day of valentines. My main issue, however, is that there was 0 communication on our cancellation. If I had remembered the address there would be a good chance we would've showed up at our scheduled time. I'll give them a little grace and partially blame their booking system for screwing up and not them directly but definitely not going to be giving them a chance after this experience. After only one visit this was my wife's favorite restaurant. After a few more, it became mine as well. I cannot express how amazing the food and staff here are. They really put a lot of effort into every meal and customer. On a night they knew we were coming, they actually surprised us by reserving our favorite table. We have tried about 10 different menu items and have not once been disappointed. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure we and every customer enjoy the full experience. As a local resident, I really want to love this place, but the struggle is real. I made a reservation for NYE. We arrived and the hostess took us to a table right in front of the restrooms. We asked for a different table and she very impatiently told us that I chose this table when I made the reservation and refused to offer another table. I nicely explained that I would have never have chosen this table, but she didn't want to hear it and again insisted otherwise. Listen, it is understandable that they want to fit as many tables in there on such a busy night - but sitting at the entrance of the restrooms just wasn't going to cut it. We were prepared to drop at least $225 with their pre fix menu, drinks, and tip. What we weren't prepared for was a front row seat to bathroom! This is the 2nd time we arrived and the hostess was less than inviting. Doesn't make us want to run back there anytime soon. There are a lot of restaurants in the area and we certainly don't want to see any business fail - especially in that plaza. Ownership may want to reconsider how your customers are greeted and treated when they arrive. read more

Ambiance was good however the service was so poor it ruined our entire dinner. We live within walking distance and we wanted to share a nice dinner with our out of town guests. I asked for water without ice and it never came, so mid-dinner I went to the bar to get it. Our friend ordered a drink without ice and it came with ice. No one else got a refill on their beverages. I ordered the salmon with roasted vegetables (exactly as it was printed on the menu) and received the salmon with a huge side of pasta with marinara....that was not even an option on my menu...see photo. It took asking 3 different people to get the roasted vegetables which came after I was finished with the salmon. The manager came to the table and said he'd taken care of it on the bill and we thank him. Went once for a girls night. Food was decent, service just ok but to be fair we were a large party. We had reservations so they could have staffed better but she did her best. Took by bf back for dinner at the bar two weeks later and again had an ok experience. So he made Valentines reservations. We were pretty horrified to learn they were closed for health violations! Nobody bothered to call us, no discounts or incentives to return, no apologies. If/ when they open up I doubt we'll give them another chance unless they offer an apology and accommodation. Wife said hers was good but only one Cannelloni which for the price was skimpy. Weird the difference between the two. Now this may be where the "Modern Italian" comes in. No bread for the table. There was Focaccia as an appetizer for $6. Saw one table order it but sent it back for some reason. No S&p on the table. Had to ask for grated cheese, was given a thimble size. I brought my family visiting from out of state here and while we did an entire restaurant tour of Tampa during their stay they said this was their favorite meal. Menu read that it had a zucchini tomato sauce and a cream sauce. Specifically asked the waitress if it came with both sauces. Was told yes and the cream sauce was a "drizzle". When it arrived there was no tomato sauce and no zucchini- strictly a heavy dose of cream sauce. The filling had the texture of tuna salad and was dry. The cannelloni noodle was crunchy on top. My husband had the lamb chop which was delicious. House red wine was really good. . When the check came we had a digital coupon. They had to take my unlocked phone to the register to apply it. They were gone long enough that my husband went and stood at the register across the room and watched them finish the transaction. It's 2026- if you offer a digital coupon you better be able to cash the customer out at the table and not need to take their phone out of their sight. read more

Ate at Memo last night for the first time. Saturday night at 6:30 OpenTable reservation. Place is beautiful with seating at bar, hightops and tables. Typically Italian restaurants do OK with quality. There are so many. Our food was well above average and a nice surprise. Somebody in the kitchen is paying attention to what goes out to diners. Had an app, Prawns Puttanesca. Really good! Two entrees, Gnocchi's Di Patate and Cannolonni (Sp?). both very good. Go there! read more

Full disclosure this one star review is based solely on my experience NYE 2025. To start I would like to say that my girlfriend and I have eaten at Memo several times since the flip from Catch 23 and for the most part have enjoyed. There were a few hiccups at the start but with every subsequent visit (at least a 1/2 dozen times or more) the overall quality of food and service improved. Then there was NYE. We had a very early reservation, 5:30 PM as we had just adopted a rescued dog and wanted to get home before the fireworks started in earnest. As was to be expected the dining rooms were not even half full, it was not busy (yet) at all. Still upon checking in with the hostesses we were greeted (barely) with a certain level of annoyance, and curtness like they did not/could not be bothered with us. We were then taken to a table that was so poorly placed I could not believe it. Right outside, within just a few feet of not only the kitchen and bathrooms but almost butted up to the second bar. When I asked politely for a different table (again at 5:30 and the dining rooms were less than half full) the hostess replied with attitude and distain that there were no other tables available. Going as far as to say that when we booked the reservation on Open Table we essentially picked the table or somehow should have known where we would end up sitting. This was simply not the case and between the suggestion that we were at fault and the overall attitude and lack of courtesy by the front of house team we decided to leave. Then to add insult to injury we went to the Open Table App to confirm we did not "pick" the table we saw that the still had open reservations available up to 7PM. I do not completely blame the hostess, she was put in an untenable situation by I am assuming management who decided to place the table. I completely understand the business wanting to get as much bang for there buck on a holiday but there was zero common sense used here. Truly unfortunate. This experience has not turned us off completely to Memo, we will return (not anytime soon) but will probably never again visit or recommend anyone visit on a holiday. Probably best for all. read more
