My cousin and I arrived last minute (right before they closed) and they still were very kind and friendly. I could tell they were ready to leave, but my cousin was visiting from out of town and I wanted her to try a Banh Mi sandwich. A lady who might have been the owner helped us, she was very attentive and sweet. I'm giving this place 1 star because of their terrible service. I don't have a problem with waiting, but it is rude customer service to be sitting at the tables talking with the other worker about who should get up and take my order. I can hear you because I'm standing right next to you. I came inside of the place whenever it wasn't busy at all, and I felt like I was an intruder breaking someone else's conversation rather than a customer coming in trying to buy food. The atmosphere and the workers did not make me feel like I was welcomed at all into the place. This was not the first it has happen. Stopped in for a quick bite. The sandwich was really good! There was a very good portion of meat which I loved because I hate a skimpy sandwich. One thing I did not like was that they put the sandwich in a plastic bag for to-go which made the bread soggy. I always get the grilled chicken and rice, my boyfriend experiments with other items here and there but usually goes back to the chicken and rice as well. The sandwiches are pretty cheap and really everything is reasonable. I've tried some of their Bobas and they are pretty good as well. It's a small mom and pop kind of business, so sometimes it can take awhile to get your order if it's busy. However, you can call ahead - which is super convenient! So Vina still takes the cake. F off about Les Girvals midtown you wanks. So overrated I could puke. The Washington location that everyone gets on their high horse and craps on has served me a better bahn mi. The midtown's over abundance of jerky-dry pork elates a mass of cheap a-holes w/ no taste to circle-jerk excessively on the Wash lo-cal's yelp (really rubs me the wrong way) but whatever. This place's sandwiches are pretty good so it is our default when we have a craving. Honestly ive driven passed this place several times and never even given it a second glance. I recently stopped in in one of my "so hungry ill eat anything" moments. I expected to go in & order something quick, bland, but filling and just go on with my day. The place is small, for sure a to-go or quick meal kind of place. I ordered the bbq sandwich. When i received it, it was wrapped to go in a warm little bundle. I have to say this is hands down the best $4 dollar sammich ive ever eaten. The bread was toasty, the chicken was fatty and sweet, and i dont know what sauce was in it but it was so good. Let me tell you that this thing was so good that it left me wishing i had ordered 2.
