Outstanding food, service and wine!! So lucky to have found this gem on the shores of lake erie!!!

Vincent William is on a beautiful location in Madison, Ohio. There are vineyards in front and the lake behind. Service was good. I was told if there's more that eight persons sitting at a table a group check it given, not seperate checks, that's a deal breaker for me. Luckily there were only six at our table. The food was good but portions were appetizer size, we all left hungry. We actually left Vincent William and went to Ferrante for a hearty size meal. This is a nice restaurant to experience but not a restaurant I would frequent because of the small portions and group checks. read more

We started our meals with cocktails, Blueberry Brie, and Crab Cakes; both were delicious and well-prepared. The bread was great with the Brie. I can't say enough about the crabcakes. They were perfectly spiced. The lemon zesty spinach salad was simple and tasty. The salmon, broccolini, and couscous were cooked perfectly, and so was my Delmonico Steak. Both plates were large portions. We ended our meals with Chocolate Bread Pudding and Gelato Ice Cream. The presentation on the dessert was lacking. The gelato was yummy, but we didn't care about the bread pudding. Our service was delightful and on point. Even the little boy clearing tables was cute. The wind was out of the NE and a bit windy. Had dinner tonight. Three people . Reservation was 530. Service was decent . Not feeling rushed at all. Had drinks, appetizers, entrees. We ordered dessert and coffee we received the check and paid around 630. A woman came to our table and asked us to finish our coffee and deserts at the bar. She said she had to bus the table . Reservations were waiting. I was furious. Never had I been asked to leave while I was finishing up. read more

We had a big group come for an impromptu work dinner to enjoy some wine and apps with the sunset. The servers were courteous and attentive, ambiance was beautiful, food and wine were delicious. The place was packed and they didn't accept reservations on Saturdays. This was their soft start so I understand. The food was good, I gave 4 stars because their watermelon burrata salad had a third of a normal burrata cheese ball, they just sliced the bottom of it and served it. However, the flavors went very well together. Their scallops were amazing. The restaurant was clean, they have 3 bathrooms unisex in different areas of the restaurant. Their desert was underwhelming, the chocolate croissant bread pudding. All the flavors mixed together just didn't seem to blend well. They do have tiramisu so maybe that would be better. Lastly, the food came out very quickly so I commend the chef's on their timely food preparation. read more

Before I arrived at this amazing find, my expectations were not too high. It was winter and the Lake Eire lakeshore rated an anemic blah! Driving up to the rather classy hotel-restaurant winery combo things began to brighten up. Once inside, looking at the surroundings and especially the menu, things definitely brightened up. I ordered the scallop and risotto main course and my friend ordered the lamb chops. The scallops had a perfect, caramelized sear and the lamb chops reduced my table companion to occasional grunts of delight. The service was impressive, to say the least. Did we return? You bet. Many times. Later in the spring, and summer, and following autumn, and we were never disappointed. The ambiance, especially if you choose a table on the lakeside patio in the nicer, spring or summer, is idyllic. Do not miss this place. It puts Madison, Ohio on the map. read more

This is the best restaurant in Madison by a mile, the food is absolutely amazing, they change there menu very often, with a wide variety, their salmon is phenomenal and their scallops are easily the best thing on the menu. I also recommend the baked Brie as an appetizer, and the croissant bread pudding is to die for, the service is always amazing, and the view is the cherry on top, a beautiful way to watch the sun set. read more

We enjoyed an awesome dinner here with extended family last week. Our Uncle Frank had been here once before and it didn't disappoint. Our server Suzanne was super. It was Good Friday so most of us had the beet salad with salmon which got rave reviews. After dinner we walked the grounds and watched the sunset. Then we retired to the bar for after dinner drinks. Hubby and I visited for lunch. The wine selection was delicious and the food had us wishing we could try it all. With fireplaces everywhere and views directly on the lake we were anxious to see the new guest rooms. Michael the owner gave us a private tour that did not disappoint. Absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Beautiful. Unique. Lunch on the patio of Smash Burgers, fries and bloody Mary were excellent. 2nd time there ate indoors, excellent service, my pasta dish was okay. Wish you could make reservations for less than 6. It gets very crowded. Go when it opens to get a seat on the patio. read more

We had reservations and we were the only table seated in our section at 5:30. We finished our waters before our drink orders were taken. We did a tasting and waited awhile before our waitress came back. When she returned we ordered our wine and food. By then several other tables had been seated. We were a table of four. A table of eight that were seated after us and after we ordered our food received their food before us and we had the same waitress. We had two orders of scallops, one of salmon and one gnocchi. The food was delicious. When our waitress returned and our meals had been cleared we asked to see the dessert menu. She then stated she was not aware we had finished our food. I had purchased a gift card and your option is to receive a code emailed no card. Waitress said slightly irritated that to use my gift card she needed to take my phone to scan the code or come back with a pen to write it down. Once we were able to close out our transactions a person in our party had to use the restroom so the other 3 of us waited in the lobby. An employee came down the hall and rudely asked what we needed and we stated we were waiting for a member in the restroom. Sorry this was so long and my first yelp review but this was a special meal at a restaurant that we were excited to visit for the first time and the service and employees ruined our experience. read more

We've been anxiously waiting for Vincent William winery to open and we finally were able to enjoy a Saturday evening dinner here. Our waitress, Andrea, was delightful. Very attentive but not intrusive. We started with drinks The John Daly was good and the lemon drop Martini was so good we had to have two. We had the Smashburger with a delicious lemon zest salad with pecans and Gorgonzola cheese. My brother in law who seldom eats veggies devoured the salad before he even tried the burger. Good quality beef with Gruyère cheese cooked medium was delicious. Another in our party had shrimp cocktail with 3 huge and flavorful shrimp. She also enjoyed the crabcakes. Good consistency and nice presentation of arugula and pickled onions with a great sauce. Hubby had shrimp bucatini and he had some of that delicious aioli all over his shirt!! Probably the most impressive dish was the seared scallops with mushroom risotto! Cooked perfectly and seasoned just right it was worth every penny. We also enjoyed for desserts the tiramisu that we agreed was best we've had, the chocolate gelato from heaven and the chocolate croissant bread pudding that was the best dessert EVER!!! My afagotto ice cream with espresso was wonderful! If you want an amazing dinner and dessert at a winery this is the place to go. The restaurant and winery is situated overlooking Lake Erie. Can't beat the view the food the drinks or service. The young owner, Vincent, was very visible and overseeing that each guest was pleased and he was very personable. As 2 couples we ate lunch at Vincent William. Disappointed. Two tables were served before us (our orders were simple) and when I asked for more bread, I was informed by the waitress that that would be an extra $2 for a small baguette. We did not pay the extra charge, but I insisted that for the wait a complimentary baguette would be in order. We received the baguette gratis. This is a hotel that charges about $500 per room with a 2 day minimum. Madison is a fine location on Lake Erie, but my wife and I paid half of that in Boston and Brunswick Maine! I wanted to love it and I will try again in a few months once they get their act together. Me and 3 friends went on 4/27/24 and it was rough. It was so bad we thought we were there soon after opening. We even asked because of it, but they had opened in February. They don't take reservations for parties of 4 so we arrived and put our names on the list. The host took our number and said they would call when our table was ready. We headed to the bar and stood at an almost empty bar with an almost empty bar room for about 20 minutes and neither of the 2 bartenders ever came over to us. We got a call for our table and left the area without ever getting service. No biggie, we can get a drink from our own waitress.. But we were sat and we sat and we sat and for over another 20 minutes staff walked by us without anyone coming over. No water, no drink orders taken, etc. Finally a young man came by and apologized and said the waitress called for us to come but was not ready and was very busy. We waited another 15 minutes before she greeted us, still no water or drinks. Each table has its own refillable water jar and ours was never filled. When Alison came over she greeted us and we tried to order everything at once, by now we were ready after staring at the menu without drinks or service for over 30 minutes. We wanted the Brie but they were out. We ordered one of the flat breads and it was very good. Three of us ordered a drink from their speciality cocktail menu, the dirty martini. We were charged extra for the blue cheese stuffed olives. That is odd for specialty cocktail. Do not put it on your menu if you are going to charge extra for a main part of why the drink is special. The drinks were just ok for $15 each. When we got to place our dinner order, we kept it simple and all four of us ordered as is from the menu, no special requests. The food took a long time and our drinks were empty and our water was never refilled after we had to ask the first time for it to be filled. They were busy, so we got it, but the waitress never came by to say anything or to check on our drinks. Two of us ordered two different pasta dishes, one ordered with chicken. The waitress rang in two of the same pasta dishes (you can see on the receipt), one with chicken. My friend that got the wrong meal is very kind and didn't want to say anything but she strongly dislikes an ingredient in the meal she was served so I said something for her and the new meal was brought out after the rest of us were done eating. I ordered the scallops which were great but they were served with mushroom risotto which was hard/under cooked. We finally had to ask another server to find our server for us because we never saw her. We had to find her to get a second cocktail. By the time they came we had been there for almost 3 hours. At this point we just wanted to get up and move so we asked for the check. We got one, paid and tipped a normal 20% even though the service was not good, she was nice. Two of us were servers most of our lives so it is hard for us to tip less even when the service is not great. We paid and took our drinks outside to finish. The place inside and out is gorgeous. Big credit to the people that refinished this place, its beautiful. It was getting close to 9, which was closing time. We noticed the staff cleaning up around people as they sat and finished their meals and drinks. For $328.53, I think it is appropriate to wait to start cleaning up. My friend mentioned she wished she could have another martini but we knew they were packing up so I went to the bar. Asked an older gentleman bartender if I could purchase more blue cheese stuffed olives and some olive juice to go and he said "hold on, I have to ask the other bartender." She heard him and looked at him and said "ask me what?" He asked her if I could do what I requested and she said "no." No, explanation, no "I'm sorry, but.." just "no." She was cleaning up and there were still patrons at the bar and a large party in that room. I wanted to love it but it was subpar for over $300. read more

Had the pleasure of returning to Vincent William Winery for our second overnight stay. Everything had been decorated for the holidays and looked amazing. The lovely Tracy greeted us again. Matt's menu and food was fabulous and what a great bar crew with Erika, Kailey, Tiffany and Matt. Can't forget Gary! Can't wait for another return in the spring. The waitress who brought the flatbread appetizer said "I guess you want me to set this down on your purse." Rude. A few members of our party went down to the water's edge. A woman who identified herself as HR yelled at them saying "if you put your feet in the water you will not get back in." Overall, the vibe was not welcoming or fun. The staff was not friendly.
